I went to Asakusa to try the grilled eel rice ball that I had been curious about for a while. I was able to purchase it right away since it was a weekday morning. I enjoyed it in the cool atmosphere of the shop with a yellow sign where you can eat in. The grilled rice ball was well soaked in sauce and topped with eel. It wasn't very big, but it was grilled perfectly and paired well with the rice ball. I had been wanting to eat an eel bowl for a long time, but I was satisfied with this. It was delicious.

I couldn't believe that I could eat domestically produced eel for only 600 yen... It was so tender, and even I could tell that the rice was high quality. It was really delicious. I could have easily eaten two pieces. I opted for the sansho pepper, of course! I waited for about 15 minutes for the ticket and then had to wait another 1 hour and 20 minutes before receiving my order. Finally, I was able to enjoy it at the eat-in area. Very satisfied~

Holiday. I wanted to go before the line, so I visited at 9:45 am before the opening. Surprisingly, the shop was already open! And there were already customers! Only 3 groups waiting, so I got in easily. They use a ticket machine system. No need to buy before lining up. Purchase at the register when your turn comes. It may be different when it's crowded. I found out for the first time that they also sell eel rice bowls. However, it's only available on weekdays, and not on this holiday. While buying the ticket, the food comes out. There is a dedicated eating space a few meters away from the shop. The rice ball is slightly warm! The rice is mixed with a sweet sauce and is fluffy and crumbly. The eel is tender! Honestly, I underestimated it. The quality of the eel rice bowl at an eel shop! It's a bit small, but considering the price, it's reasonable. You can choose whether to have sansho pepper, so I chose to have it. It's not too strong in flavor and easy to eat. I would eat it every time if there's no line. Thank you for the meal ^_^

I had been curious about this eel rice ball shop for a while. You order using a touch panel, receive a food ticket, and then come back at a specified time to pick up your order, which was a bit of a complicated system. I didn't listen carefully or ask for clarification, so although I knew the pick-up time, I had a bit of trouble finding the location. I settled the bill around 11:30 and picked up my ticket, then returned to pick up my order around 15:30. After picking it up, I was directed to a place about 20 meters away to eat, which was like a small break area or a staff room. The interior had an old-fashioned izakaya feel, with standing room only and space for about 6-7 people. When I opened the eel rice ball, it was filled with eel! The aroma of the sauce hit me right away, making me want to eat it immediately. I quickly took a photo and then used chopsticks to separate the eel, which was so tender that it seemed to be connected by just one layer of skin. When I put it in my mouth, the eel melted and filled my mouth with deliciousness! The rice underneath was already made into a grilled rice ball, which made it a bit difficult to pick up, but it was so tasty! The sauce had already seeped into the rice, making it delicious, and the additional sauce from the eel on top made it incredibly tasty. It was worth waiting for 2-3 hours! I quickly devoured it and it was delicious! I will make sure to understand the system better and come back again next time!

I visited this place because it was often featured on summary sites and I was curious. I bought a grilled eel rice ball for 600 yen to take home. On that day, they were only selling eel rice balls. There was a line for purchasing and a separate line for pick-up. When I made my purchase, I was told to come back in about 30 minutes to pick it up. I wandered around Sensoji Temple for 30 minutes and then returned to pick it up. When I got home and tried it, hmm, it wasn't as good as the reviews made it out to be. The eel wasn't that big, and the rice ball was dry and hard. The eel wasn't very tender or flavorful. I felt that 600 yen was too expensive for this. Above all, it wasn't worth waiting for over 30 minutes for this taste... I wonder if the experience would be different if I had eaten it on the go?

natu and I went on a trip to Tokyo. We found this restaurant on YouTube, which was perfect for us because we wanted to try different foods but couldn't eat a lot. We decided to get their onigiri, which was meant for sharing between two people. The eel was soft and flavorful, and the onigiri itself had a nice balance of sweet and salty from the eel sauce. It was so delicious that we even thought we could have each gotten one instead of sharing.

It was a rainy day, so there was only one group in line and we were seated right away. The food was served quickly, and we walked a short distance to the eat-in area. There was only one other group there, and the space was clean and well-stocked with tissues and hand sanitizer. Even though there were no staff in the eat-in area, the atmosphere was comfortable. The food was delicious, and the portion size was just right for me. I left feeling very satisfied.

The eel was even more delicious than expected. It was fluffy and light. There was a bit of a wait, but we were given a numbered ticket so we could wander around without any stress. When we visit Asakusa again, we definitely want to eat here.

I always wanted to try it because there is always a line. First, I lined up to receive my order, and then I had to wait in another line to pick it up. Fortunately, both lines were short because it was raining. As for the taste, it was okay. I thought it was convenient to be able to easily eat eel, but I also thought that it might be better to splurge and eat something nicer.

If you want to go on a food tour in Asakusa, try Asakusa Unana! It's a luxurious but affordable option for enjoying Japanese eel. They serve it in a convenient onigiri style that is easy to carry around and delicious. It can get quite busy, so I recommend getting a ticket early and exploring the nearby area until your time slot. It's located near Asakusa Temple and Hanayashiki, in a narrow alley called "Hatsune Koji Izakaya Street," making it a great place for food tasting (with proper etiquette) and sightseeing.

Delicious! Buying a numbered ticket and going at a specific time may be a hassle, but it's worth it. I didn't mind the time so much since I was already out trying different foods. The freshly made eel was amazing, fluffy yet firm, with a rich flavor that I personally loved. The rice cooked in eel sauce onigiri was so tasty. It's cheap at 500 yen, and I could easily eat about 5 of them. I definitely want to come back to this place again.

I looked it up and found an eel rice ball, so I went thinking "what is this?" It was delicious and easy to eat because the eel dish became a rice ball. I received a numbered ticket and was able to eat it freshly made. This time I only had one, but it was so delicious that I could eat several more.

I had always wanted to visit Unana-san in Asakusa. It's a popular shop known for its thick eel rice balls. The wait was about 40 minutes after buying a ticket. I passed the time by finding nearby shops I wanted to visit. When I finally received my order and saw the thick eel on top of the grilled rice ball in the eat-in area, it lived up to my expectations. The balance of flavors with the sauce was perfect, and I finished it in no time. I'm on a diet, so I resisted the temptation... but I wish I had bought more.

Visited on Sunday during a 3-day weekend. The shop is located on a narrow street near Senso-ji Temple and Hanayashiki. Orders are all done through a ticket system, and I managed to get my ticket before noon, but was actually seated in the 2:30 pm slot! (It's a popular place for sure!) It may not be suitable for those who want to quickly explore Asakusa, but I didn't feel like I waited too long as I visited Senso-ji Temple until the time written on the ticket. The eel rice ball that can be eaten for just one coin (500 yen) was worth the wait ☺︎ The rice ball, soaked in plenty of sauce, with a hint of sansho pepper on top, was irresistible. ✨

500 yen‼️ Eel rice ball at Asakusa Unana. This popular eel restaurant in Asakusa serves a one-coin eel rice ball that is incredibly delicious (@ ̄ρ ̄@). I've been wanting to try this place for a while and finally made it! You receive a ticket and then pick up your order at a designated time, which is convenient because you can wander around Asakusa until then. It was so tasty!! And all this for just 500 yen is too cheap. #AsakusaGourmet #AsakusaCafe #AsakusaLunch #AsakusaFoodTour #AsakusaDate #AsakusaStroll #AsakusaYokocho #TokyoGourmet #FoodieGirls #Foodstagram #InstaWorthyFood #TokyoFoodTour #UenoCafe #FoodieDate #FoodieLife #FoodieCommunity #FlukeOfficialAmbassador #FoodieGuys #AsakusaFoodie #InstaFood

I had the opportunity to go to Asakusa after a long time, so I wanted to eat something delicious. I found out on social media that you can eat a Japanese eel rice ball for only 500 yen, so I couldn't miss it! It seems that they receive a lot of orders, so after purchasing, you receive a paper with a specified time written on it and you have to go back to the shop at that time. On this day, I registered around 12:30, and the pick-up time was from 14:50. It might be faster on weekdays, but it seems to be quite a wait on weekends. I was surprised to see a big eel on the rice ball for only 500 yen! The fluffy, fatty eel and the rice ball with sauce, along with the spicy sansho pepper, matched perfectly and were delicious! The staff's impression was neither good nor bad, probably because they have to handle a lot of people.

When I visited on Sunday afternoon, there was a long line!! I made a reservation and received the food at a set time. I went around 11 o'clock and got the food around 13:30. I chose to add sansho pepper topping without hesitation. It was delicious~~! I thought it would be hot, but it wasn't (lol). But it's such a good deal to be able to eat for just one coin. When you arrive in Asakusa, it's a good idea to first make a reservation at Unatoto and then walk around eating until the time!

The nearest station is Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba Express, a 3-minute walk away. On a Saturday, we finished our errands in Asakusa and decided to have lunch with my family. We originally planned to go to Yadoroku, but it seemed like they ran out of rice and couldn't serve us. So, we didn't want to walk too far and ended up visiting Unana-san, a shop specializing in eel rice balls. It's probably a shop mainly for tourists, but we thought it would be a good conversation starter. The shop only offers takeout eel rice balls. We ordered the domestic eel grilled rice ball (500 yen), which took about 15 minutes to cook. Once it was ready, we ate it right away on the provided deck. The eel was placed on top of a slightly larger than normal grilled rice ball. They claimed the eel was domestically sourced, but it was hard to tell from where. It had a satisfying taste and would be good for eating while sightseeing. However, at 500 yen for a rice ball, it felt a bit expensive. Overall, it was a decent meal.

It's fun to stroll around while looking for a friend's shop and getting closer. I found this place while searching nearby and it looked delicious, so I bought a meal ticket and ate on the spot. The shop was small, but they use domestic eel and it's really cost-effective! They serve grilled eel and rice balls, so you may have to wait a bit, but it's only 500 yen and the grilled rice ball is so crispy and delicious! The eel is also domestic, so you can eat it without worries. Plus, the sauce was really tasty, just the way I like it. The bag they put the rice ball in was cute too. I definitely want to come back to this place. Thank you for the meal.
