I visited Ginza Nakarou for lunch on Saturday. It's located about a 7-minute walk from Tsukiji Station. I found the place by following a narrow alley and was intrigued by the sign. I went up the narrow stairs and sat at the counter where cold tea was available. I ordered the Seafood Fry for 1,600 yen including tax, and it was served in 8 minutes. The seafood fry included shrimp, conger eel, and cod cheeks. It came with rice, miso soup, salad, one side dish, and pickles. The fry was perfectly cooked and delicious. The conger eel was juicy and really captured the season. The homemade tartar sauce was pink and had a nice tangy flavor. The salad even had boiled whitebait on top, showing attention to detail. As I was eating, the chef brought me an extra conger eel fry, saying "the shrimp was small, so please enjoy this." It was a great gesture of care, especially during a busy lunch rush. Rice refills are free. I randomly walked into this place, but I left completely satisfied with the food and service. I'm already thinking about visiting for dinner next time. Thank you, chef!

Lunch ■ Today's Favorite Set Meal ¥1,500 (tax included) Located in Ginza, "Ginza Nakaji" is a traditional Japanese restaurant. It is a black storefront on a quiet street about a 3-minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station. When you pass through the curtain and go up to the second floor, the entrance to the restaurant appears. Upon opening the door, you will find a small space with counter seats and about three table seats. The lunch menu includes a limited 10 servings of "Steamed Salmon, Salmon Roe, and Sea Urchin," as well as four other Japanese set meals. I opted for the "Today's Favorite Set Meal," where you can choose two out of the four set menus. The options were: Crab Cream Croquette, Bonito Tataki, Jumbo Shrimp Fry, and Pork Belly and Chinese Cabbage Omelette. I ended up choosing the Bonito Tataki and Jumbo Shrimp Fry. The dishes arrived quickly, in about 5 minutes. The bonito tataki had thick slices with a satisfying texture, served with grated daikon and ponzu sauce that paired well with the rice. The jumbo shrimp fry had a crispy coating and a juicy texture, served with tartar sauce with pickled radish and Worcestershire sauce. It was a delicious fry. Additionally, it came with a small plate of shredded salad and simmered lotus root, along with miso soup. The restaurant seemed to be a hidden gem in East Ginza, as there were few customers. It appears that I have stumbled upon a hidden gem for lunch in East Ginza.

I had a strong craving for fish, so I dashed to "Ginza Nakarou" during my lunch break. I chose the "Omakase Teishoku" for 1,500 yen, where I could choose two items. I selected the salmon marinated in Saikyo miso and the bonito tataki. The salmon was generously sized and delicious, while the bonito tataki was firm and tasty. Thanks to satisfying my fish craving, I was able to focus and work hard in the afternoon.

I entered the restaurant for lunch on a midsummer holiday. The interior was cool. There was a counter and two compact table seats, but the seats were spacious and comfortable. I ordered the daily lunch special. It was served in about 8 minutes. The shrimp fry was delicious. The tartar sauce had a hint of shiso, which made it refreshing and tasty. The chef (owner) also had a clear and pleasant customer service. I will definitely come back if I'm nearby. Thank you for the meal.

I had some errands in Ginza and decided to have lunch before that, so I made a reservation and went. It was my first visit today, so I chose the daily special set meal (large shrimp fry and simmered fish) for 1500 yen. At the counter, there were two groups of four customers who arrived before me. Inside the counter, the owner was preparing the meal by himself, frying the shrimp. I drank barley tea while waiting, and then a large shrimp fry was served on the tray. It was crispy and delicious, served with two types of sauce, sauce and tartar. In addition to the simmered fish, there was also salad, cod roe, and pickles, which made the rice go down smoothly. Everything was delicious, so I finished it all. Next time, I would like to try the steamed basket with salmon roe and sea urchin. Thank you for the meal.

Located in a quiet alley in Higashi-Ginza, "Ginza Nakaji" is a cozy Japanese cuisine restaurant that I visited for lunch. It is about a 4-minute walk from Higashi-Ginza Station, right near the popular ramen shop "Ginza Hachigo". As you enter, you will see a simple white curtain hanging at the entrance. Climbing a slightly steep staircase and passing through the curtain on the second floor, you will find a counter right in front of you. The cozy space has a counter with 7 seats and one table, with soft jazz playing in the background and the sound of frying food filling the air. For lunch, the menu includes: - Salmon, ikura, and sea urchin steamed in a basket: 1,800 yen (limited to 10 servings) - Seafood fry: 1,600 yen (includes large shrimp, horse mackerel, and flying fish) - Tempura bowl: 1,600 yen (includes large conger eel, shrimp, and kohada) - Daily special set menu: 1,500 yen (choose 2 items from options like crab cream croquette, bonito tataki, large shrimp fry, and dried red sea bream) I opted for the seafood fry, which included a large shrimp, horse mackerel, and flying fish. Each set was prepared individually and served in just 10 minutes. The main seafood fry had a beautiful golden color with a crispy texture that indicated it was freshly fried. It was served with rice, miso soup, salad, and spicy cod roe as a side dish. The first bite of the flying fish fry exceeded my expectations, with each piece of batter being crispy and the sweet flesh inside standing out. The large shrimp was so big that it took 5-6 bites to finish, and it was equally delicious with a crispy batter and juicy, flavorful meat. The horse mackerel was tender and flavorful, and I savored each bite. The set also came with tartar sauce mixed with pickled radish to add extra flavor. The meal was served with Echizen Oono rice, which was chewy and had a glossy texture, enhancing the flavors of the fried food. Despite my initial concern about having enough rice, I was satisfied by the end of the meal. The restaurant operates with just one staff member, so it's best to be prepared for a short wait during peak lunch hours. With a maximum of 11 seats, it's recommended to visit early. I was curious about the limited steamed basket dish, but the seafood fry was too tempting to pass up. Other customers seemed to enjoy the daily special set menu with two items of their choice. Overall, the seafood fry at "Ginza Nakaji" exceeded my expectations with its crispy batter and delicious flavors, making it a perfect choice for a day when you're craving fried food. Address: Ginza J Bldg 2F, 3-14-5 Ginza, Chuo-ku, Tokyo Phone: 03-6278-7113 Business hours: 11:30-15:00 (last order 14:30), 17:30-22:00 (last order 21:30) Closed on Sundays and holidays Stay duration: 30 minutes Bill: 1,600 yen including tax Visited: Weekday around 11:50 am, no wait (5 customers already seated)

Platt, today's lunch was a stroll around the area of Higashi-Ginza. From exit 5 of Tokyo Metro Hibiya Line Higashi-Ginza Station, go up to the ground level, where you'll see a traffic light in front of you and Harumi Street to your right. Make a U-turn, head towards Kabuki-za, turn right at the first T-junction, walk for a bit, then continue straight at the first crossroads, walk a bit more, and continue straight at the next crossroads. Soon, you'll see Ginza J Building on your left. Go up to the second floor using the stairs at the back right of Ginza J Building, and you'll find the restaurant "Ginza Nakaji" where I visited today. I entered the restaurant at 11:55 on a weekday. Upon entering, the chef greeted me with a "welcome" from the kitchen and said, "Please sit wherever you like." Since there were no other customers, I chose a seat at the counter right in front of the kitchen. I checked the menu and found options like salmon, ikura, and uni steamed in a basket for 1,800 yen, seafood fry for 1,600 yen, tempura rice bowl for 1,600 yen, and today's customizable set meal for 1,500 yen with options like crab cream croquette, seared wild sea bream, large shrimp fry, and dried red tilefish. For individual items, they had large shrimp fry for 500 yen, horse mackerel fry for 300 yen, pike conger eel fry for 300 yen, and crab cream croquette for 250 yen. I asked the chef about the most popular lunch option, and he recommended the customizable set meal with two choices. He also mentioned that the second day's special was the tempura rice bowl. Intrigued by the new menu item, I decided to order the tempura rice bowl. After a 6-minute wait, the tempura rice bowl was served. It consisted of tempura rice bowl, whitebait salad, spicy cod roe, pickles, and miso soup. The tempura rice bowl featured large conger eel, shrimp, horse mackerel, green pepper, and pumpkin. The tempura was crispy, the sauce had a gentle sweet and savory flavor, and the ingredients were well-cooked and delicious. I enjoyed the meal in the relaxed and clean atmosphere of the restaurant. Thank you for the delicious meal.

One day's omakase course. I forgot to take some photos. I always enjoy lunch at Nakaji, a recommended restaurant for its delicious food. From the appetizers to the dessert on this day, the lineup was delicious and everyone was very satisfied. The bonito tataki and crab sauce over chawanmushi were especially delicious. The plum somen noodles as the finale were also exquisite.

East Ginza, Nakarou. I made a reservation and visited for lunch. The restaurant is on the second floor. It has a small feel with a counter seating for 7 and two tables for 2 people each. The owner handles cooking, serving, and cleaning alone, so it seems quite busy during lunchtime. There are 5 lunch options: - Salmon, ikura, and uni steamed in a steamer - Simmered conger eel, ikura, and steamed in a steamer - Seafood fry - Kinka mackerel salt-grilled - Chef's choice set meal (crab cream croquette, bonito tataki, large shrimp fry, deep-fried flatfish in broth) This time, I had the salmon, ikura, and uni steamed in a steamer. It came in a steamer with rice, salmon, ikura, and uni. It was delicious, but as a big eater, the portion was small. It felt like it could be eaten by two people. Since the owner is alone, the timing might take a bit longer. Next time, I want to try the seafood fry. Thank you for the meal.

The shop had a hidden door a little way up from the entrance, giving it a cozy hideaway feel. The atmosphere inside was nice, and the owner was very kind. Above all, every dish was elegant. The final course was a bowl of rice with sea urchin and salmon roe...! It had been years since I had sea urchin! I was very, very satisfied. I would love to visit again.

I was completely exhausted, so I decided to eat a hearty meal to get through the afternoon. I ordered the Deluxe Set Meal with Natural Sea Bream Tataki & Large Deep-Fried Prawns, and added an optional Crab Cream Croquette for 1,750 yen (tax included). I also asked for extra rice. The natural sea bream was delicious! It had a great texture and flavor, and tasted even better with grated daikon radish. For those who want to fully enjoy the taste of sea bream, I recommend trying it with sudachi citrus and salt! The large deep-fried prawns were served with tartar sauce, and the rich crab cream croquette was excellent as a side dish or snack.

Recently, it's been tough to get in without jumping in at 11:30 or making a reservation. Last time it was full and I couldn't get in, so this time I arrived at 11:28 and as soon as they put out the sign, they welcomed me in. The fried food is delicious here. I'll have the mixed plate, please. It's the same older brother as always. He manages the place alone and works hard. I respect that. Ah, it's so tasty. Of course, I eat the shrimp tails too. The other day at a drinking party, there was someone who only ate the shrimp meat that had been prepared to be eaten whole, including the head and tail. I couldn't help but say something. I mean, that's like picking a radish and only eating the leaves, right? Not quite like picking a tomato and eating only the leaves, but still. The fried food is definitely better when it's freshly fried. Also, last time I mentioned there was only hot tea available, but this time they also had cold tea prepared. Thank you.

I found this restaurant while walking around and decided to try their lunch set which allows you to choose two side dishes for 1500 yen. I chose simmered yellowtail with daikon radish and fried chicken. The daikon radish was especially delicious! The other dishes were also tasty, and the atmosphere of the restaurant was nice.

Hidden gem for lunch in a narrow alley near the Kabuki-za theater. The entrance is just a curtain, so it may be hard to spot from the outside. Inside, you'll find a cozy little shop where the owner runs the show solo. I ordered the Kinasa mackerel set lunch, which was absolutely delicious. The mackerel was tender and juicy, a generous and satisfying meal. The rice was also top-notch, showing their attention to detail. My companion had the crab cream croquette and shrimp fry set, both were outstanding. The crab cream croquette had a rich crab miso topping that was creamy and delightful. It's been a while since I've had such a tasty croquette. We left completely satisfied and will definitely be back for more.

I had seen this restaurant featured on Instagram and was curious about it, so I took a day off on a weekday to go check it out. I was all excited as I climbed the stairs, but when I reached the top, I couldn't find the restaurant... I ended up entering through a door halfway up the stairs. I knew the steamed rice in a bamboo steamer was the most popular dish, but I was determined to have the seafood fry because I really wanted to have fried horse mackerel! Later, I saw someone adding various fried items to the steamed rice as a side dish and thought, "Oh, they can order it separately!" I slightly regretted my choice. Remember to check the menu thoroughly (including the back)! The side salad had cod roe on top, and the tartar sauce was slightly pink (tasted similar to regular tartar sauce). The fried dishes were satisfying, with a good-sized shrimp and not too thick batter.

Located in Ginza 3-chome, a bustling area with popular ramen shops like Hachigo and Hanayama Udon, this restaurant is situated on the second floor of an old building down a side street just a minute away. It opened in October 2021, offering a mix of traditional Japanese cuisine and small dishes. The interior is spacious and comfortable, with a central counter and table seating available. I visited on a Saturday for lunch around 1 pm, and the restaurant was about half full. The lunch menu offers four options, with the "Today's Special Set" priced at 1500 yen being a particularly good deal. Today's set included two main dishes: Hagatsuo Tataki and Oyster Fry. The Hagatsuo Tataki, similar to bonito but with a unique flavor, was fresh and delicious without any fishy smell. The Oyster Fry was a large, crispy piece of oyster that was juicy on the inside, served with tartar sauce, homemade sauce, and lemon. In addition to the main dishes, the set also included a small side dish of hamburger-style meatballs and simmered greens, a salad with mentaiko (spicy cod roe), and a generous portion of rice made from locally sourced rice from Fukui Prefecture. The rice was slightly soft and had a hint of sweetness. Although the 1500 yen price tag for the lunch set may seem a bit high, considering the quality and portion size, it is definitely worth the cost.

Seafood fry set meal for 1,600 yen. Located on the second floor in Higashi-Ginza, this traditional Japanese restaurant is run by a single chef who prepares each dish with great care. The food is delicious and the side dishes vary daily, making it a place worth revisiting for the surprises.

When I heard that Nakaji-san had received some impressive oysters from Hiroshima Prefecture, I knew I had to go! Today's special set meal allows you to choose 2 items, and of course, I chose the oysters! Just as I was about to order, Meisama, who arrived before me, suggested adding an extra oyster to the oysters and fried chicken. What a great idea! I remember we used to do that back in our old neighborhood. Why did I forget such a trick? Oysters and bonito sashimi, with an extra oyster added! Bonito sashimi is also delicious! These large and impressive oysters are truly mouthwatering. The tartar sauce is pink because Nakaji-san doesn't like pickles (laughs). But this pink tartar sauce is also delicious. You can even pour it over rice and enjoy it! Yes, the rice here is also delicious! They use the second best rice in Japan, I heard. I wonder if there's still some left? Hurry and try it out, everyone!

Revisited the restaurant. I was intrigued by the seafood steamed in a bamboo steamer that another customer was eating last time. The miso soup had improved. Not sure if it was due to my feedback or just a better day, but at least on this day, it didn't taste like instant soup. However, overall, the fried dishes seemed to be better. I understand the concept of serving the steamed dish in an individual tray, but I felt like I wanted a soup bowl. It was my first time eating directly from a steamer basket. Also, the sea urchin tasted like the seasoned ones you find in jars, which was disappointing. The other ingredients were also a bit too mushy, and I couldn't taste any umami from the seafood steamed in the basket.

Seafood fry set meal for 1,600 yen. Nakarou, located on the second floor in a back alley of Higashi Ginza, is a somewhat hard-to-find traditional Japanese restaurant. The seafood fry set meal, featuring oysters, mackerel, and shrimp, was delicious with each piece capturing the essence of the seafood. Japanese-style fried dishes are truly delightful. The owner was managing the restaurant by themselves, so it's a place where you can leisurely enjoy your meal.
