I finally got to visit the famous giant octopus senbei shop in Asakusa! Look at the size of this senbei, it's huge! Isn't it amazing? It's even bigger than my face! They press it right in front of you and the smell is so good. We went right at the opening time of 11:30 AM, but there was already a line, showing how popular this place is. This time, I tried the giant senbei and a summer limited edition item, which was a peach ice cream with a whole peach on top. The heat that day was intense, and the ice cream was melting fast, but the juicy peach flavor was delicious. The salty senbei paired with the sweet peach made it hard to stop eating. This place is a must-visit for those who love salty snacks! That was my experience at the octopus senbei shop in Asakusa! ✨

I ate "takosen" at Asakusa's "Tako no Nakigoe." When you press it, it makes a squeaky sound like "kyu." It's bigger than my face... no, how many times bigger than my face? It's very satisfying to eat! I also had black ink takosen, but unfortunately it cracked due to carelessness... I must try it next time!

I went to the "Takononakigoe" in Asakusa. The impact of the huge takosen that completely hides your face is amazing! There were many foreigners lining up as well. We ordered a normal huge takosen and a charcoal black one. When they make the takosen, there is a sizzling sound like "takononakigoe!" and we got excited. They provide freshly made takosen for each order, so you can eat a hot, huge takosen. I had the impression that takosen was thin, but the takosen at "Takononakigoe" was thick and satisfying with a strong salty taste, it was delicious. The black one had a soft and fragrant taste when you bite into it. Both were delicious, and we shared while eating. Eating one by yourself will make you full because they are so big. While sightseeing in Asakusa, please try it out!

They serve a very large takosen! It's more than twice the size of a face. You can choose from octopus, shrimp, or scallop, and wait about 5 minutes for it to be pressed. You'll be handed a freshly baked takosen that is piping hot. It has a crispy texture, a delicious freshly baked aroma, and is slightly spicy. It's perfect for a relaxing holiday. There may be a ticket system, but we were able to purchase it with a short wait on a weekday evening.

Asakusa is perfect for food hopping! The shop with oversized octopus senbei is a great spot. They have a retro storefront, so it's recommended to take photos in a kimono. The name "Takono Nakigoe" comes from the sound heard when pressing the octopus. The huge octopus senbei can fill your stomach and hide your face, but it is vulnerable to strong winds. It can easily break with a slight impact, so be careful when taking photos in the wind. The best items are the giant octopus senbei and the giant scallop senbei. The octopus is dipped in a special sauce and pressed whole, spreading the octopus aroma and sauce flavor in your mouth. The dough has gochujang, making it quite spicy. It's more like a snack than a dessert. It goes well with beer. The scallop senbei has about 6 scallops in a regular octopus senbei. It's a better deal as you get to try both. It seems sturdier. The shop operates on a reservation basis at the storefront. You can ask when the next available slot is and they will tell you to come at a specific time. When I visited on a Sunday around 4:00 PM, I had to wait for about 30 minutes. The menu includes the giant octopus senbei for ¥700 and the giant scallop senbei for ¥800.

I saw the sign for "Takosen" and decided to buy it since there was no line right after it opened. When I think of "Takosen," I imagine takoyaki sandwiched between shrimp senbei with sauce, but apparently here, "Takosen" refers to a giant thin senbei with a whole octopus marinated in sauce and pressed with a ton of weight. It has a spicy kick from gochujang or shichimi, making it more of a snack than a sweet. The sign also mentioned giant shrimp senbei and giant scallop senbei. It seems like a great option for a sunny day food stroll, although it might not hold up well in wind and rain.

I want to recommend this to people who love to eat out, those who love takoyaki, and those who love senbei. I ordered the takoyaki senbei for 600 yen. I made a reservation before going to this izakaya on Hoppy Street to drink. I had to wait for an hour and a half, even with a reservation. The whole of Asakusa was bustling with energy, it was surprising. By the time I received the takoyaki senbei, it was already dark outside! This takoyaki senbei was huge!!! It was about 2-3 times the size of a smile \(//∇//)\ It's a bit fragile, so be careful when trying to break it. But it was so satisfying to eat - it had a lot of impact and I highly recommend it!

This time I ordered this item: Octopus Senbei for ¥600. The product and the shop name are both very impactful! The retro atmosphere of the shop fits perfectly with the town of Asakusa. The octopus senbei is so big that it can cover your face. It's fun to hide your head completely or peek your face out, making for interesting photos that you often see on Instagram! It was surprising to see many people walking around Asakusa with it. The "Iidako" is made by pressing a whole octopus with a ton of force, then pouring the batter and baking both sides. They bake it fresh upon order, so it's great to be able to get it freshly baked! It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal. Everyone, please try to get it too!

When I went to Asakusa, I wanted to try this giant octopus senbei! It was 600 yen for one piece on weekdays, so I was able to get it right away, but I heard that there are days when you have to wait in line on weekends! Anyway, it's huge and thin, so be careful because it can break when the wind blows.
*Be careful because pigeons might try to steal some. It's a challenge for those who dislike pigeons.
The taste is spicy and crispy, very delicious! It seems to have a dough with gochujang, and they cook it vigorously with a large press machine. The octopus part is moist and firm, which is also delicious. I wanted to have it with beer~ However, the portion is quite large, so I recommend sharing one piece between two people ☺️
It would be great if they had this in Osaka too~ It looks great and I was very satisfied! If you come to Asakusa, you should definitely try it out!

Asakusa Food Crawl 10 Shops Hop Trip 5th Shop This shop, which opened in November 2020, is a popular place known for its octopus senbei, which is about three times the size of a person's face. Despite the atmosphere of the shop giving the impression of being in business for a long time, it has only been around for about 2 years. The shop is located a 1-2 minute walk from Asakusa Station on the Tsukuba EXP line, near Hoppy Street. The octopus senbei is extremely large and thin, so be careful as it seems like it could break and fly away in strong winds. It's just right to share one piece with everyone. [Order] - Octopus Senbei 500 yen

It's hard to tell if it's actually good or not, but the freshly made giant takoyaki is recommended for sharing between two people. There are some tough parts that are difficult to chew, but strangely enough, they taste delicious. The pressed part in the middle has a subtle octopus flavor.

I came to Asakusa and lined up at a visually impactful takosen shop that wasn't even open yet. They carefully grill each piece one by one, so it takes a while after ordering. I waited for about 10 minutes since there were about three people ahead of me. The taste is similar to takosen. It's unclear if there is octopus inside, but it has a good kick of spiciness. It might be worth trying out at least once.

This shop, which is a hot topic for having takoyaki balls bigger than your face! It takes just over 5 minutes to bake. Yep, they are quite big!! Maybe about 4 times the size of a woman's face? The octopus in the middle is completely flattened, but reaching it is a long way off...haha. The taste is just normal takoyaki! It's recommended to share with a few people!

The name of the shop is good. Have you ever heard of "The Crying of the Octopus"? Perhaps some people have, but I have not. However, when you see what is being sold, you understand. It's the sound of a press machine. I have heard the "cry of the squid" in my life, but I had never heard the "cry of the octopus," so I visited. In today's world, you can search for anything online, so I knew a giant rice cracker would come out, but seeing a large octopus rice cracker in front of me still got me excited. It's a bit of a mystery whether it's a unique food in Asakusa, but it definitely adds to the tourist atmosphere. It was good.

It's a very large and thin rice cracker. It has a natural salt flavor that is not too salty, making it delicious. When taking it home, it can be easily broken into pieces, but if not careful, it may end up dropping, so you need to be cautious when eating it. The place was crowded and popular, as there were constantly people coming to buy it. It's located near Asakusa Rocks, making it easy to find, so it's worth stopping by. I visited this place before dinner in Asakusa, and it was perfect for a snack time. I would like to come back with friends when I visit Asakusa again.

Must-visit tourist spot in Asakusa when wearing a kimono‼️ A popular takoyaki senbei shop where the senbei is so big that it can hide your face, which is surprising. It's recommended to visit when there are fewer foreign tourists due to the influence of the coronavirus. They serve freshly made, warm senbei that you can enjoy. Each senbei contains two octopus pieces and is pressed, so the flavor is rich. I was worried if I could eat it all by myself because it's so big, but it's crispy and light, so I finished it in no time. A must-try for eating your way through Asakusa!

The shop where I used to eat hot sandwiches has now turned into a takoyaki senbei shop! They only offer takeout, but there are benches outside the shop. They sell only takoyaki senbei and drinks. The takoyaki senbei costs 500 yen (tax included) and it was supposed to take 5 minutes, but it came out quickly. It was definitely big. You have to stretch your hand out all the way to take a selfie with it. When I took a bite, it was "harder" than I expected. It was quite tough to eat because of its size. I shared it with others, taking small bites, but the taste was a bit monotonous so I got bored halfway through. This is something you can't finish alone. It may be Instagram-worthy, but because it's so big, sharing is recommended.
