I visited this restaurant for the first time during lunch on the weekend. I made a reservation over the phone beforehand. The location is along Platinum Street, near Café Laboème. It's in the vicinity of wedding venues. You enter the building's premises from the street and take the elevator up to the 3rd floor. When you open a couple of Japanese-style sliding doors, you enter the restaurant where the staff greets you. The staff members are quite young, possibly students. Both the male and female staff looked very young. The interior has a nice mix of chic and traditional Japanese elements, creating a lovely atmosphere. Since it's an eel restaurant, the menu mainly features eel dishes. The eel dishes come in different sizes, ranging from small to large, with varying prices. We chose the "mountain" size, which is equivalent to one whole eel. The eel dish arrived fairly quickly, accompanied by miso soup and three types of pickles. The sauce had a nice color and a good Kanto-style flavor. As a Kanto native, this style of eel dish resonated with me the most. The eel was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. It was a very satisfying dish for me. The eel was also of good quality, and the ambiance and view from the restaurant were pleasant. I would recommend making a reservation before visiting. It was a very nice restaurant filled with elegant adults. The interior was spacious with high ceilings, private rooms, counter seats, and regular tables. The atmosphere was calm and clean. I ordered the grilled eel which was fluffy and fragrant. Despite the hot weather, the staff were polite and considerate in serving the eel dish. Overall, the hospitality was wonderful.

I stopped by on a Sunday afternoon without a reservation. The restaurant is located on the 3rd floor of a building along the Platinum Street, and has a modern and lovely atmosphere. The main store is a long-established store in Hamamatsu. The interior was filled with families and foreign travelers, and I was seated at the counter. I decided to try the "Ladies' Set Sumire" instead of the eel dish. It came with liver, sakura shrimp with daikon & cucumber salad, eel, a small eel rice bowl, and pickles, all for 3,520 yen (including tax). You can choose from small, regular, or large rice portions for the eel bowl. The "Ladies' Set Sumire" had a good balance and portion size, and I would like to come back again.

A stylish eel restaurant appeared on the 3rd floor of a fashionable building in Shirokanedai. The appearance of the store is beautiful, so expectations are high. Even during the Obon period, this restaurant was open relatively late for an eel restaurant, so I called and visited on the same day. It's about a 5-minute walk from the station, so it's easy to get to. Perhaps due to its location, they offer sparkling, white, and red wines by the glass, so service is excellent! It's rare for traditional eel restaurants to have wine, so this is a big plus. While waiting for the eel roll, I enjoyed some pickled summer vegetables as an appetizer, which took about 15 minutes. I ordered the smallest portion of eel since I had already had an appetizer. The eel was crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside. The fragrant aroma and gentle texture were truly luxurious. The fresh sansho pepper added a great scent and heightened my appetite. The sauce was a bit on the thick side though. Overall, I would definitely consider revisiting this restaurant.

We always rely on this restaurant for family gatherings. My son always wants to eat the eel here, so we visit regularly. I have tried various dishes, but personally, I think the eel roll here has the perfect balance of sweetness and umami, making it my favorite flavor. We always order the eel roll, grilled eel, half-grilled eel, corn tempura, pickles, eel rice bowl, etc. The atmosphere of the restaurant provides a luxurious space for us to relax and enjoy as a family. I look forward to visiting again at the end of summer!

I visited the restaurant on the midsummer day of the ox. I didn't have a reservation, but I was able to get a table without waiting. The restaurant seemed very busy due to the high number of customers that day. The eel was delicious, especially the grilled eel liver was tasty. The fluffy texture and flavor of the egg were exquisite.

Eel restaurant located along Platinum Street in Shirokanedai. The interior is spacious with plenty of seating. I was able to enjoy delicious eel after a long time. The customer service is excellent, and I appreciated the attention to detail, like the Aesop hand wash in the restroom. Most surprising was the low price of the drinks.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. Made a reservation by phone at the last minute. Surprisingly, there weren't many people for lunch. Ordered the Unaju (eel rice bowl) and Futomaki (thick sushi roll). The Futomaki had a delicious broth flavor, and the Unaju had a nice charcoal aroma with tender eel. The hospitality was also great, overall very satisfied.

Yesterday was a perfect day for a walk, so I took Beatrice to MONO Ca'TALY on the 2nd floor. Two days in a row at the IGAX building! However, on this day, it was pouring rain so Beatrice had to stay home. It had been five years since I last had eel, so I decided to give it a try. I called ahead and they said they could seat us at 5:15 pm. When we arrived, there were already three people at a table by the window, enjoying a bottle of red wine. Almost all the tables were reserved, and the kimono-clad proprietress, who has been running the restaurant for 7 years in Shirokanedai, was nowhere to be seen. This eel restaurant has been around since the Meiji era, with four generations in Hamamatsu. The bottle on the table next to us had a label with a hint of orange, which made me wonder if it was a Mitiq label (although the wine list only said it was from Southern France). We ordered a bottle of Hakkaisan junmai sake, boiled edamame, grilled eel liver skewers, grilled eel with rice, and eel porridge. The bonsai pine tree at the entrance looked a bit tired compared to last time, but everything else in the restaurant, from the chopstick rests to the eel bone chips, remained the same. The presentation of the dishes was lovely, especially the edamame, which came with a knife for easy eating. While waiting for the grilled eel to arrive, we enjoyed the liver skewers and sipped on our sake. The eel, cooked in the Kanto style with a focus on the grilling process, was delicious and fragrant. The eel porridge, served with pickles and eel liver, was also a treat. We tried the eel porridge, which was poured with bonito broth and topped with condiments, and found it to enhance the flavor of the eel. For dessert, we had roasted green tea ice cream, which was good but not as memorable as the one we had at Morinoen in Ningyocho. Despite that, the rainy atmosphere outside added to the charm of the early eel dinner, leaving us completely satisfied.

A wonderful eel restaurant in Shirokanedai that makes you want to come back again. Despite being in Shirokanedai, the prices are reasonable. It's recommended to make a reservation. I personally recommend the Ladies' Set which includes eel salad, small eel bowl, and eel liver. The eel roll is also very delicious! Depending on how much you drink, you can expect to spend around 7000 yen per person for a leisurely meal.

This is the Tokyo direct store of the famous restaurant Unagi Fujita in Hamamatsu. There are main and station front stores in Hamamatsu, and this White Gold store is the third store. There is also a shop with the same name in Toyoda, Tokyo, but it seems to be a sister store and not a direct store. The shop in Toyoda was good, so I have high expectations. It is located on the 3rd floor of a beautiful building in White Gold. You can also make reservations, so it's easy to get in. I made a reservation today just in case, but it was not crowded as it is a weekday. Still, about 70% of the seats were reserved. The clientele also seems to have good taste. The interior of the restaurant is very clean and spacious. It has a suitable atmosphere for White Gold. The staff's service was also polite. We were seated at a table, but if you sit at the counter, you can see the grilling, so we moved there. The charcoal is placed conspicuously. It seems to be grilled over a high flame. We started with steaming, but it was quite short, so it may have finished preliminary steaming. Today's eel is from Hamamatsu and it is charcoal-grilled with steaming. The ingredients are said to be the same as the main store. ▶︎Ordered Items - Unagi Ju Kawari 3850 yen Pickles, liver soup, and extra rice are free. It took about 13 minutes to arrive. When we opened the lid, there was a very fragrant aroma of sauce and charcoal! Mmm! You can tell even without eating it. This is definitely a favorite! The grilling looks firm, and that makes me happy. It is a 5-piece size of 2/3 tail. When we tasted it, oh! It's delicious as expected! It's very carefully prepared. The surface is well grilled, very fragrant, and melts in your mouth. The inside is soft and tender with just the right amount of fat. The skin is soft, smooth, and melts in your mouth. You can also taste the umami from the skin and feel the fragrance. The flesh is plump, and the texture changes are enjoyable. It has a good overall balance and a high level of completion. You can taste the flavor and aroma of the eel, and the texture is good with no freshness issues. When the eel is grilled well, the flavor and aroma stand out, and it is very delicious. Eel just isn't as tasty if it's not grilled. And then there's this sauce. It's a bit strong in soy sauce, but it has sweetness typical of Hamamatsu and a good balance. The aroma is also good, with a sharp taste that I like. Since it's generously applied and grilled, the aroma of the charcoal and the umami of the eel stand out. Fujita's sauce is delicious. The rice is also very tasty. The grains are well-formed and the rice is lively. The sauce is just right, and the overall balance was good. The pickles are ordinary. The liver soup has a good broth. However, the liver was only at the tip, not throughout. The sansho pepper was also delicious. They saw us off to the door at the end. It was a delicious eel with the essence of Hamamatsu. It was fresher and better grilled than the sister store in Toyoda. It was nice to see their sincere work. It's a bit pricey, but I think it's worth it. Recommended for those who like eel grilled well over charcoal. Thank you for the meal~!

This place, which was on the list of eel restaurants in Tokyo, was founded in 1892 and is a long-established store originating from Hamamatsu. The Shirogane store is relatively new and has a spacious interior with a classy atmosphere. The beautiful landlady in a kimono welcomes you to the store. I had the reservation for the Una-ju (mountain) for ¥5,280. It is a Kanto-style steamed grilled eel. The eel is sourced daily from the aquaculture in Hamana Lake. It is grilled while continuously adding the "secret sauce" that has been passed down for over 50 years. Unlike the typical soft and tender eel, this eel has a slightly firm yet fluffy texture. The crispy grilled surface is superb. The rich sauce with a strong salty taste complements the intense flavor of the eel, along with the firm rice. It was even more delicious than I had expected from reading reviews. It seemed almost fully booked except for the counter seats, maybe because it was a holiday, but it seemed easy to make reservations even the day before. It seems like a restaurant that can be used for a wide range of occasions.

I wanted to eat eel two days ago, but luckily I was able to make a reservation and visited the restaurant after a long time. It was still full. I was disappointed that there was no grilled eel liver. I regretted forgetting to request it when making the reservation, but I tried the eel fillet instead. Hmm... Eel bones go well with beer, and the grilled eel with ginger soy sauce was deliciously fragrant. I enjoyed some sake as a snack, ranging from sweet to extra dry, while waiting for my eel rice bowl. The selection of sake was good, and I had fun choosing. The timing for the eel rice bowl was perfect, and the eel was fluffy and light, with just the right amount of sauce. It was delicious.
