I went to Himmel, one of the top 3 bakeries in Ookayama, as I had some errands near Ookayama. They mainly sell German bread, and the shop is filled with a variety of bread, which got me really excited. I purchased the following items: Krapfen (Cassonade), Pretzels, Smoked Ham and Vegetable Cheese Pretzel, Seasonal Vegetable Baked Cheese Curry, and Tsuchi Asobi no Tamago Cream Bread. I originally planned to visit one more bakery, so I tried to keep it light, but there were too many tempting breads to resist. When it comes to German bread, the first thing that comes to mind is Pretzels. It's the second most popular bread at Himmel. I tried Pretzels for the first time, and its simple salty flavor goes well with various ingredients. The texture is also interesting. The Smoked Ham and Vegetable Cheese Pretzel contains vegetables, smoked ham, and smoked cheese inside, which pairs perfectly with the salty Pretzel. It was really delicious. Personally, I preferred it over the simple Pretzel. The tomato was a nice touch. The Baked Cheese Curry with seasonal vegetables was spicy, but the cheese's mildness balanced it out nicely. The bread itself was delicious and robust, not overshadowed by the curry. The Tsuchi Asobi no Tamago Cream Bread was a rich and sweet cream bread. I loved the flavor, it was irresistible. It's rich but not overwhelming, making it easy to eat. The most popular item, Krapfen, is like a fried bread or donut, and it was incredibly delicious. The dough was chewy and the sweetness was perfect. I don't usually buy fried bread, but since it was the most popular, I gave it a try and it was definitely the right choice. I think it's a must-buy. Overall, I was very satisfied with the delicious flavors.
