Hitsumabushi consists of grilled eel pieces served over rice in a wooden box. Hitsumabushi Nagoya Bincho is a renowned restaurant for Hitsumabushi in Nagoya. The Tokyo branches of Hitsumabushi Nagoya Bincho are located at Ginza Mitsukoshi and Marunouchi Building, both popular and always crowded. However, the branch at Marunouchi Gate in Ginza is more accessible and easier to make reservations. I made a reservation for a dinner meeting and arrived at the restaurant on a Sunday at 5:00 pm, finding a long line of about 30 people. Ordering the "Upper Hitsumabushi for 4,950 yen," "Change to Liver Sucking for 180 yen," and "Liver Wasabi for 1,000 yen," the Hitsumabushi was served in about 15 minutes, which was quite quick for grilled eel. Hitsumabushi Nagoya Bincho uses the Kansai-style grilling technique for eel, which is very delicious. Kansai-style grilling involves not steaming the eel, unlike the Kanto region's typical steamed eel preparation. The restaurant's Hitsumabushi is authentic and tasty, making it a must-visit for eel lovers.

I ordered the lunch menu and received a lesson from the staff on how to enjoy it. First, I tried it as it was. Then, I added seaweed, wasabi, and green onions. Finally, I poured the broth over it. The green onions and wasabi really complemented the eel. The broth was light and didn't overpower the eel sauce. You can ask for extra broth and green onions, so you can enjoy it to the fullest. The eel rice bowl had a good amount of eel and was delicious. If I had to be picky, I would say that the liver could use a bit more saltiness. The restaurant was clean and I had a pleasant lunch experience. Thank you for the meal.

I made a reservation and visited on a Saturday night. The restaurant was fully booked with a sign out front indicating so. I ordered the Hitsumabushi (grilled eel over rice). The eel had a crispy texture and a smoky aroma, typical of Kansai-style preparation. The hot broth added a nice touch, but be careful when handling it as it is very hot. The portion size was generous, the price was a bit high, but the service was good. I would like to visit again during eel season.

Hello~! Today, I made a reservation at Hitsu-mabushi Bincho in Ginza, Nagoya. I made the reservation half a month ago because it seems to be a very popular restaurant. I arrived at the building where the restaurant is located at 10:55 am, and without being asked about my reservation, I entered the restaurant. I ordered the Upper Hitsu-mabushi with extra rice and changed the liver to liver sashimi. Later, I also ordered the eel bowl with extra rice and extra sauce. The food arrived quickly, and the visual presentation was amazing. The liver sashimi was delicious, and the Hitsu-mabushi was perfect with its crispy exterior and juicy interior. The eel bowl was also very tasty, with thick slices of eel and a sweet sauce. I accidentally spilled my soup, but the staff quickly brought me a new one without any issues. Overall, the food was delicious, and I would love to come back again. Thank you, Hitsu-mabushi Bincho in Nagoya!

I ordered an eel pickle set. The eel was perfectly grilled to a crispy texture. I don't eat eel often, but it felt a bit thin. It tastes delicious on its own, with green onions, or even with soup.

I received the elegant course. The grilled eel was cooked in the Kansai style, crispy on the outside and fluffy on the inside, with a delicious flavor. In addition to the delicious hitsumabushi, I also enjoyed half a grilled eel, making it a total of four delightful experiences in one meal. Above all, the staff's service and attention to detail were wonderful. I wish other famous restaurants in the area would learn from their example, instead of acting like "We are a famous restaurant, so what?" I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again. (^^)

I prefer eel that is not steamed but crispy, so this restaurant is much appreciated. The hitsumabushi is delicious with that sauce, but I find it a bit too sweet when it's served in a bowl. I always make sure to order the shirayaki and eel rolls. Hitsumabushi is good, but I highly recommend trying the shirayaki as well.

One of the best hitsumabushi restaurants in Nagoya. The atmosphere was great when I went to eat eel ahead of the midsummer day of the ox, and the service from the staff was excellent. Despite being close to closing time, they didn't rush us at all. The clientele seemed to mainly target tourists, as there were many Chinese tourists. The prices were quite high, so it's a place you can only visit on special occasions, but the taste is undeniably delicious. If you want to experience hitsumabushi, I recommend it.

I took a foreign guest with me. When I asked to change seats to a window seat, they kindly accommodated my request. We enjoyed dishes like shiroyaki with hitsumabushi and unaju as the main course, and they were very satisfied. (Additional note) There is also a Nagoya-style eel restaurant at Tokyo Skytree. We visited there as well for a preview. Although there were differences in the timing of our visits and the crowd, I personally thought the eel grilled at the Marunouchi Gate store was better.

I made a reservation for lunch on Friday at 11:00. I ordered the Hitsumabushi and a beer, as well as the Crab Miso Tofu. The Crab Miso Tofu tasted the same as it does anywhere else, so I think it's a pre-made product, but I love it. I had multiple refills of seaweed and green onions for the Hitsumabushi, which the staff quickly brought to me. The Hitsumabushi had a delicious, fragrant flavor that I really enjoyed from start to finish. By around 12:00, there were people waiting outside. The restaurant is not very spacious, so I recommend making a reservation.

When I requested a seat by the window with a nice view for my reservation, they prepared a seat with a wonderful view for me. I purposely chose a Kansai-style restaurant for eel kabayaki in Tokyo, and the crispy grilled eel was delicious as expected. The person I was with was also satisfied with the taste and the view, and we had a very enjoyable meal together. I would like to use this restaurant again in the future.

Second visit. Probably. The prices have gone up, haven't they? The taste seems to be lacking compared to the deliciousness of Hitsu-mabushi in Atsuta or Nagoya. I remember feeling it was more delicious before. It was a little disappointing. Also, there were quite a few Chinese people inside the store. When I left the store, there was a line of foreign people outside. It must be popular.

I finally got to enjoy my favorite hitsumabushi after a long time. I chose the "special hitsumabushi" which had layers of eel between the rice like a mille-feuille, giving it a satisfying crunch. The eel itself was crispy and fragrant. It was delicious! I will treat myself to this again in the future.

These days, feeling the summer fatigue. To boost my energy, I want to eat hitsumabushi today. Eel grilled slowly over charcoal is truly delicious. The Nagoya-style hitsumabushi, grilled with sauce without steaming, has a crispy and fragrant surface. You can enjoy delicious hitsumabushi in Tokyo without having to go all the way to Nagoya. I went for lunch at 11 o'clock on Saturday. There were many foreigners around, and few Japanese people. The hitsumabushi was delicious. When I paid extra, the miso soup was changed to liver soup. I enjoyed trying different ways of eating and it was delicious.

Located in Ginza Marunie Gate, there is a Hitsumabushi restaurant. The standard Hitsumabushi set meal costs 3,600 yen. By changing the miso soup to liver soup for an additional 400 yen, it is not exactly cheap, but there is a sense of value in being able to enjoy three different flavors. Pour the eel into the rice bowl and enjoy the first cup as is, then add toppings like green onions and shredded seaweed for the second cup, and finally pour the broth over with wasabi for the third cup. The restaurant interior is bright with large windows, and the view outside towards Otemachi from the 12th floor is open and spacious.

I tried the limited-time Hitsumabushi set on a weekday and it was a great deal. It was my first time trying Hitsumabushi and it was delicious. The atmosphere of the restaurant was nice, but being on the 12th floor made me a little uneasy when sitting by the window.

It was delicious! I went with a friend who loves eel, and we both ate in silence with big smiles on our faces. The aroma of the grilled eel was impressive. We ordered the most affordable Hitsumabushi, and the portion was sufficient. The green onions, as explained by the staff, had a crunchy texture. We were seated by the window, overlooking Yurakucho Station and the Shinkansen passing by. The window seats are back-to-back with other tables, so the space between chairs is a bit tight. If you move your chair too much, you might bump into someone. I wish the drinks were a bit more affordable.
