Counter seats at a hidden gem restaurant that only accommodates 4 people, so it's super lucky if you manage to get a seat. The chef single-handedly manages everything and cooks dishes like steak right in front of you, so it may take a bit longer. Lunch menu offers a choice of 3 items for 1,000 yen (tax included) or 4 items for 1,500 yen (tax included), all served with salad, soup, rice, and side dishes. Arriving around noon, I barely got the last seat as there were 3 other customers. Everyone seemed to have ordered the sirloin steak (which indeed offers great value), but I opted for the more affordable pork loin ginger set at 1,500 yen for a weekday lunch, which felt a bit pricey. The chef's solo performance was truly impressive, with refined skills that kept me captivated. Starting with the corn, then adding vegetables like baby corn and eringi, everything was cooked on a black plate. Next, three slices of pork loin were carefully grilled on the iron plate and topped with a generous amount of ginger sauce. The rich and sweet ginger sauce, caramelized onions, and juicy pork loin melted in my mouth, bringing pure happiness. The salad with cherry tomatoes was fresh and generously dressed, while the side dish of simmered bamboo shoots had a delightful spring-like flavor. The minestrone soup was light yet flavorful with plenty of ingredients. The rice was plump and glossy, with a firm and chewy texture that I loved. The composition was impressive for just 1,000 yen! It's no wonder this restaurant, run by a former Hotel Okura French chef, is so popular despite its small size. The chef's sincere approach to cooking and attentive service make it a must-visit spot. I heard that they had to turn away around five or six customers during my meal. I will definitely be coming back!
