I was curious about the Chinese restaurant that is open 24 hours, so I decided to give it a try. The restaurant has a bit of a rustic feel to it. You can see the cooking process from the counter, and the staff, mostly young women, have a good vibe. I ordered the Salt Dan Dan noodles, which were refreshing and tasty. It was good, but not amazing, just decent. The prices are a bit on the higher side, but the place is always busy and you can expect a decent meal without any disappointments.

Manchoku-tei and Nankin-tei feel a bit similar. The atmosphere, roadside location, menu structure, etc. are a bit different, but they give off a similar vibe. Some stores even operate side by side, not sure if they are friendly or competitors in their business. This time, I was planning to go to Manchoku-tei, but found out it was closed, so I ended up going to Nankin-tei across the street. By the way, this was my first visit to Nankin-tei. The biggest feature of Nankin-tei is that it is open 24 hours. Manchoku-tei does not have that, so maybe the Manchoku-tei across the street went out of business? I don't know. I went during lunchtime, and about 80% of the seats were occupied. It was quite crowded, and they even opened up table seats that are usually only available at night, so I thought it must be a very popular restaurant, especially since the rival store across the street closed down. I ordered Ebi Cha-han for 1080 yen and two pieces of gyoza for 250 yen. The food arrived quite quickly after ordering. The Ebi Cha-han looked perfect. There are two schools of thought when it comes to Ebi Cha-han: one where a large amount of shrimp is mixed with the fried rice, burying the shrimp in the mountain of fried rice, and the other where a dome-shaped fried rice is topped with a large amount of shrimp. In addition to these two, there is a minority group where the shrimp is finely chopped and mixed into the fried rice in large quantities. I don't like this style because the shrimp, char siu, egg, and green onions all blend together, losing the meaning of calling it Ebi Cha-han. Anyway, the fried rice that serves as the base for the Ebi Cha-han was fried to a fluffy texture that made it difficult to scoop up with a spoon towards the end. The seasoning was a light salty taste with a hint of pilaf-like umami. The topping shrimp was naturally firm, and the subtle saltiness brought out the sweetness of the shrimp. Overall, I thought it was a decently delicious fried rice. The two gyoza were the type of jumbo gyoza with a thick skin filled with a high meat ratio filling. The skin was chewy and delicious, but the meat filling lacked juiciness and had a slightly mushy texture, which was a bit disappointing. Eating it with the soy sauce, chili oil, and vinegar dip made it taste really good. I felt that this dish goes well with white rice rather than fried rice. Thank you for the meal!

Fried rice for 800 yen, two orders of gyoza for 250 yen. I visited on a Sunday before 8:30 am. There were 12 customers already there and 2 customers came in after me. The restaurant was being run by a team of 4 people, probably the parents. They only had the front section open in the morning, which I think is a good strategy to keep things manageable.

Lunch on August 10, 2023 (Thursday). I worked from home in the morning, had some errands at the bank, and arrived a bit late at Murayama's workplace. I decided to try this restaurant on the way, as I had some time to spare. The restaurant is located at the intersection of Imokubo-dori and Sakuradai-dori, although it seems that the name Sakuradai-dori is no longer displayed. There are two chain restaurants facing each other at this intersection, with Nanjing-tei Higashi-Yamato store on the southeast side and Mamboku-tei Sakuradai-dori store on the northwest side. Nanjing-tei is operated by Shin Nihon Sangyo Co., Ltd. (located in Kamikitadai, Higashi-Yamato City), with branches in the Tama area, Saitama, and Kanagawa. They currently have 12 stores, with the first store being Nanjing-tei Akishima store opened in 1981. Mamboku-tei is operated by Mamboku-tei Co., Ltd. (located in Inadaira, Musashimurayama City), with 6 stores in North Tama and Yamanashi Prefecture. The first store was opened in 1970 at Hanakoganei Station in Kodaira City. I remember that 45 years ago, we used to recognize it as "Manchurian dumplings," which I think was Mamboku-tei. I remember there being multiple stores even back then, so I was a bit confused. Looking at the history of Mamboku-tei, the ninth store in Sunagawa opened in June 1974, and the Mizuho store opened in January 1977. I was planning to compare the two stores as they were located diagonally across from each other, but to my surprise, Mamboku-tei closed on June 30. What a shame. I don't know the reason, but when comparing the two stores, Mamboku-tei was at a disadvantage in terms of location. Depending on the direction, it was not visible at all, there was hardly any parking, and the number of seats was much smaller. It was a shame that I couldn't compare the two stores anymore, but today I went to Nanjing-tei. It was around 11 am, with about 12 customers at the counter and table seats. It was still considered empty, but also busy for this time. I ordered fried rice (728 yen, tax included 800 yen) and 2 dumplings (228 yen, tax included 250 yen). There was a sign inside the restaurant saying "Our dishes are handmade." I could see a few chefs tossing woks. The fried rice and dumplings arrived soon after. The fried rice was a bit moist, not too dry. The taste was average, a bit on the salty side, but not bad. The dumplings had a strong garlic flavor. The dumplings were okay. I would consider coming back again. The total bill was 1050 yen.

Two bowls of Cantonese noodles and dumplings. On a hot day, I crave hot food for some reason. I had the Cantonese noodles, and they were delicious as always. Maybe it's just me, but it seemed like there were fewer vegetables. Is it because of the current situation? Thank you for the meal.

This restaurant is open 24 hours a day. For busy modern people, being able to enjoy delicious food anytime is very much appreciated. The dumpling skins are crispy, and the tantanmen is also delicious. If there were condiments like garlic, ginger, and Sichuan pepper on the table, I would want to come back.

I had to attend a meeting in between my work at the construction site in the morning. It was a necessary meeting with some significance, but it meant I couldn't go to the restaurant I wanted to. On my way back to the office from the site, I stopped by Nanjintei and had a stir-fried leek and liver set meal with half a portion of dumplings. My body must be tired because it was craving leeks and garlic. I enjoyed the meal slowly while reflecting on the events of the day. Back at the office, another meeting awaited me. After a tiring day, I rely on delicious restaurants to keep me going.

The prices are reasonable and the food is delicious. The ramen is so-so, but the set meals and individual dishes are really tasty. The portions are slightly large, so it's recommended for those who like to eat a bit more. The specialty of Nanjinte is the jumbo gyoza, which are 1.5 times larger than regular gyoza.

I visited the restaurant after cycling around Lake Sayama (about 14km). I had tantanmen, shrimp fried rice, jumbo gyoza, and a large beef bowl, along with cola and oolong tea, all for a little over 4,000 yen. I forgot to take photos, but the portions weren't as big as I remembered from my previous visit. After that, I bought sashimi and fried horse mackerel at Kakuei Fish Market and enjoyed them.笑

I often used to visit Nanjing Tei, a restaurant located near the National Fuchu Interchange entrance. Today, I was in a rush and wanted a quick meal, and I found this place. It's been a while since I last came to Nanjing Tei. They still offer Set A and Set B, with the prices remaining the same. It seems like they have been offering these sets for years. The food was delicious as usual. I had the beef bowl and mini ramen set. Thank you for the meal.

Tokyo-Tei and Nankin-Tei, which have multiple locations in the Tokyo-Tama area, visited this particular store near the Tama Monorail Sakura Kaido Station. Just like other locations in the same chain, this store is open 24 hours. I arrived by car around 9:15 PM on a weekday. The parking lot is spacious and easy to park in. When I entered, the place was quite lively. I tend to visit this chain late at night, and it seems to be popular among people working in transportation who want a hearty meal in the middle of the night. As usual, I sat at the counter alone and ordered fried rice and 2 dumplings. This classic combination is a must-have. Although I have tried dishes like shredded pork with green peppers at other locations, I always end up coming back to fried rice and 2 dumplings. The fried rice is consistently good. Sitting at the counter allows you to watch the cooking process, adding to the enjoyment of the meal. The Chinese soup that comes as a side dish is also a nice touch. The dumplings are generously filled and satisfying with just 2 pieces. Like other locations in the chain, this store only accepts cash.

A 24-hour restaurant for families and truck drivers, located along a rural highway, offering affordable prices. I was surprised to find the place quite crowded when I visited after 9:30 PM. I tried the tan-tan noodles in soy sauce flavor, which had thick noodles and a mild spicy taste. The price was reasonable, probably under 900 yen, and the taste was decent. There aren't many restaurants open late at night, so I thought this place could be useful in times of need.

The skating rink in front of Seibu Higashiyamato City Station, which had been closed for over a year due to equipment failure, has finally reopened after rumors of permanent closure. The reopening is a joyful occasion, but on the other hand, being on the edge of Tokyo, it is difficult to reach by car, especially on weekdays when there is a Tokyo league match scheduled at night. Despite the lack of a highway, navigating to Higashiyamato City is a challenge with constantly changing route suggestions from the GPS. After the match, finding a place to eat late at night is also a struggle, with even popular spots like Hopeken Higashiyamato closing at 11 pm. In such situations, the Chinese chain restaurant Nanjing-tei becomes a go-to choice for solo diners, with its spacious parking lot and 24-hour operation. The restaurant offers a set menu with options like pork yakiniku rice bowl and half ramen, along with delicious jumbo dumplings. The atmosphere is lively with a mix of late-night diners, and the food, though not exceptional, is satisfying. Overall, Nanjing-tei is a convenient spot for a late-night meal, especially when other options are limited.

Different shop, but same menu as always. The service is fast and the food is delicious. The B set is popular at any store. South Kyotei is always crowded no matter what time. Everyone is enjoying their meal, except for those at the counter. I am grateful to South Kyotei for always delivering the same great taste at any time of the day.

Today, I had an unexpected round trip between Hachioji and Yokohama in the morning, followed by continuous work until late at night. I was feeling like I might let out some dirty words out of frustration. I didn't want to go home just yet, so I decided to refresh myself somewhere. I arrived at a place that is bustling with people, including those here for work and those out for a night of fun. Despite knowing that I had indulged in a big meal earlier, I decided to go for a Chinese rice bowl and some dumplings. I chose the rice bowl in an attempt to at least have some vegetables, and I asked for half the usual amount of rice. But, the dumplings made up for it, and I couldn't resist having them. After working hard all day, I finally had some time to myself. The Chinese rice bowl was filled with plenty of ingredients, providing a satisfying meal even with less rice. And the hot dumplings were a delight to savor. Personally, I like to eat them with a mix of chili oil and vinegar in equal parts.

Cuisine: Tan Tan Men (Miso flavor), Jumbo Gyoza, B set (Yakiniku Don and Mini Ramen) Price: 2,330 yen Located near Sakurakaido Station, there is a Higashiyamato branch. There is also one on Shin-ome Kaido, so there are two stores in Higashiyamato City. This Chinese restaurant is open 24 hours. It is always popular and crowded, but the turnover is fast so the wait is not too bad. This time I tried the Tan Tan Men. They had soy sauce, miso, and even salt flavors available for a limited time, but I chose the miso flavor (the most expensive one). The rich sesame soup was delicious, so any base would have been good. The large gyoza always has a satisfying bite. My companion had the set with Yakiniku Don. The portion was quite generous but they finished it in no time. I always think this, but next time I will try the Crab Fried Rice.

On this day, I went to Tachikawa for car coating. During the 2-hour treatment, I needed to have lunch. Last year, I went to "Kyohachi," but this year, I couldn't decide where to go. After thinking about it, I decided to take the monorail and get off at Sakurakaido Station to visit "Nankin-tei." It's a rare shop near the station. I've been to this shop three times, but I've never had alcohol because I always drove. This time, unfortunately, I only had food. When I come to Nankin-tei, I always order the same combo: fried rice and two jumbo dumplings. The fried rice has a strong umami flavor and just the right amount of saltiness. It's not exactly my favorite type of fried rice, but it has a certain addictive quality that makes me crave it occasionally. The dumplings are also satisfying and delicious. These dumplings definitely go well with beer. I always think I want to come back next time when I can drink alcohol...

Nankinte, which is open 24 hours, has also shortened its hours due to the state of emergency. However, it seems like they are still offering takeout 24 hours a day! I stopped by Nankinte after a long time and ordered their classic dish, the Yakiniku Don. It hasn't changed since 20 years ago. I also got a set with a mini ramen. The Yakiniku Don is always so delicious and filling, and the taste hasn't changed either! Maybe it's because I'm getting older, but just adding the mini ramen to the set made me surprisingly full. It's delicious, filling, and affordable! Even though I'm not a big eater, I can still finish it. Maybe it's because of my youth? I'll come back to eat here again before I can't handle it anymore. Thank you for the meal.

I had breakfast at the Nanjing Teidaiwa store. I visited on a Saturday morning around 9 o'clock. At this time, there were a few customers, and the spacious interior was relaxed. The counter seats were also well spaced out! I ordered the salt ramen for 546 yen (excluding tax) and 2 jumbo gyoza for 210 yen (excluding tax), paying a total of 800 yen. The salt ramen was simple but delicious. The flat curly noodles were just right. The jumbo gyoza was very tasty, with plenty of meat filling. The service from the staff was average. Thank you for the meal.

This is Tianjin Donburi. Here, it's not Tianjin rice, but Tianjin Donburi. A yellow, round dish like a hazy moon arrives. It's topped with a strong sweet and sour sauce. The fluffy crab omelette and intense sweet and sour sauce soak into your tired body. In no time, it becomes a half moon, then a new moon.
