Visited at 1 AM. While other shops around were closing, this one had its red lanterns shining brightly. They are open until 4 AM. A slightly awkward woman was running the place by herself. There were only two customers, including us. We used this place for a final drink to end the night. Edoichi has branches in various train stations, suitable for the needs of Tokyo station areas.
Today's order:
- Cucumber with miso
- Tomato slices
- Fried garlic
- Tsukune with raw egg yolk
Drink order:
- Lemon sour
The weather is pleasantly cool, making it feel like the heat of the day was a lie. It was very comfortable drinking outside at the stall seats. We gulped down the lemon sour and ended our visit. This place has good value for money and is easy to use. We'll come back again. Thank you for taking care of us!

Last weekend, I went out for drinks with a friend. We chose to go to a casual pub under the elevated tracks near Okachimachi Station because it was convenient for getting home (photo 1) ... The place is called "Taishu Sakaba Edoichi." When we arrived at around 10 pm, I asked the staff about their business hours, and they said, "Until 5 am." I was surprised because it hasn't been that long since most places shortened their hours due to the pandemic. Even if we missed the last train, we could easily recover by taking the first Yamanote Line or Keihin-Tohoku Line train in the morning. We felt relieved and started drinking. Here are some of the dishes we ordered (photos 2, 3). The food was not just cheap, but actually good. The tonpei-yaki was delicious, the garlic butter grilled dish was hot and fluffy, and the grilled shishamo was cooked perfectly. They had a wide variety of drinks, and both the food and drinks were excellent in quality and presentation! I highly recommend this place for drinking in the Ueno/Okachimachi area.

It had been a while since I went out drinking, so I decided to go from Kanda to Okachimachi. We didn't have a specific place in mind, so we just randomly walked into a place. They had a 2-hour all-you-can-drink option for 1500 yen, but we didn't go for that. Instead, it was a one drink per order system. We chose the next place to go and walked in, but we were disappointed with the grilled dishes. The skewers were not up to par, especially the pig's head and tongue. It was a letdown for our long-awaited drinking session.

Just before heading home, we decided to stop by here because we weren't done drinking. Cheers with a Mega Highball! One more person joined us (laughs). Ordered tamagoyaki (rolled omelette) and cauliflower pickles. Yep, they were delicious. Had a great time with Mega Highballs, but it was getting late so we called it a night. This place is good for when you need a little extra drink and it's close to the station. Thank you for the meal.

This is under the guard between the north and south exits of Okachimachi Station. We ordered Hoppy and decided to have sashimi for our first round after having Chinese food. When we asked what was good, we were recommended salmon, but the freshness and quality were just okay. The cucumber was a bit soft too. Maybe we should have gone with something grilled instead. It was drizzling outside, but it was convenient being close to the station, and we could still drink after 10 pm. Oh well, it was alright. Thank you for the meal.

I felt a little hungry in the afternoon and happened to find this place. I decided to go in. They had simple appetizers lined up. I chose the tonpei-yaki, which seemed like a good match with draft beer. It was generously topped with sauce and mayonnaise, which made me happy. There was plenty of cabbage inside, so it was satisfying to eat.

This was my first visit for a casual drink. There were seats outside, but it was too hot so I sat inside on the first floor. There are seats on both the first and second floors, but I chose the first floor. There weren't many staff members, so it took a while for someone to come to our table in the large hall. The restaurant seemed busy and bustling. I ordered a few skewers of yakitori. The tsukune (chicken meatballs) with sauce were soft and delicious. The green onions were also tasty. However, the pork belly was tough. The shiitake mushrooms were a bit dry and firm. Overall, it's a good place for a casual drink. Thank you for the meal.

I went to drink draft beer after the state of emergency was declared to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Before hanging out with a friend nearby, we had a drink and some yakitori. I chose various yakitori options as I pleased. The location is convenient being near the station. They also have outdoor seating available. The ventilation is good. The prices are reasonable, and the food is delicious. I can't resist ordering chicken wings and gizzards. Thank you for the meal. I will definitely go again.

There is an izakaya called Corona under the elevated tracks near Ueno station. It seems like they are open from noon, offering draft beer for ¥400 and a skewer assortment for ¥490, which is quite reasonable. The taste might be just average. The okonomiyaki is mostly cabbage. These kinds of places are the best for a casual drink and quick bite. Just have a highball and head home! That kind of place.

I happened to visit this shop near Ueno-Okachimachi Station. The interior has a counter and table counters. I was surprised by the limited menu options. I decided to start with a draft beer and some appetizers. I chose the assorted skewers and mentaiko omelette. The skewers were average overall, nothing special to note. The mentaiko omelette was also average, something you can find anywhere. There was only one server, and I wonder if the cooking is done on a different floor. I recommend using this place for a quick drink rather than a place to relax.

Visited a new store that opened under the elevated tracks in JR Okachimachi for the first time. It was a chilly day, so I thought about having a cup of hot sake. The place has a first floor and a second floor. The first floor has about 7-8 tables. I asked for a warm drink, and the server asked if I wanted "shinkome." I was a bit confused but realized it was "shinmai." I ordered a tonpei-yaki and cucumber pickles to play it safe. The tonpei-yaki was quite voluminous with lots of cabbage inside. It was crispy and refreshing. I also had a cucumber pickle and some appetizers. The sake served was a new sake made from fresh rice. Overall, it was a casual and easygoing place.

Let's have a drink around Ueno after a long time! We decided to visit Daikou for our first stop, but it was a bit unsatisfying. So, we visited Edo Ichi, which I have already visited before, in the drizzling rain. The interior of the restaurant was refreshing, and we were seated at a table. The Gorgonzola penne pasta appetizer was served, which was delicious. I particularly enjoyed the corn, which I ate slowly and meticulously, removing the bacon bits. The corn was so tasty that I quickly finished it and had a second serving. The restaurant was almost full, and I was impressed by the foreign staff member who skillfully managed the busy atmosphere. They provided excellent service with a smile, which made me think that Edo Ichi is the best.

I came here to witness the battle between the Hashigo sake princess from Ookane and the corn butter. We had 3 servings of appetizers, 2 servings of corn butter bacon, 1 serving of shima hokke, 1 serving of edamame, 2 servings of chicken thigh with sauce, 2 lemon sours, 1 strong alcohol, and 5 ume highballs. As we drank and ate, the princess couldn't stop eating the hokke and kept asking for more corn butter. It turned into a battle of who could get the last piece. Someone suggested that we should have just ordered one each from the beginning. I was sipping on my ume highball when suddenly the last drink arrived. It was time to call it a night. I managed to catch the last train on the Chuo Line at Yotsuya, and luckily, I was able to transfer to the last train bound for Minami-cho. Thank you, lucky stars! The end.

In the style of enka♪, the flower of Edo has 808 neighborhoods~♪ At the foot of Ueno's mountain, a once shady market has now prospered~ Isn't it great, let's lightly tease each other, let's go back♪ At the casual bar "Edo Ichi", if you eat yakitori, the conversation will flow, this place is the best in Edo? Okachimachi~♪ The stylish Edo has beautiful places~♪ Walking through the crowded Ameyoko, anything goes in this amazing shopping street, Mii-chan and Haa-chan are selling jewelry next to the fish market♫ At the affordable bar "Edo Ichi", if you drink premium sake, you'll have a grin on your face, this place is under the train tracks~♪ Just steps away from the station is "Edo Ichi", now enjoy a refreshing lemon sour, the next town over is Akihabara~♪

The newly opened izakaya "Taishu Sakaba Edoichi" located between the north and south exits of Okachimachi JR elevated station is a place where the food is cheap but the drinks are a bit on the pricier side. They offer a unique selection of drinks without Hoppy. The food prices are affordable, but the grilled pork and grilled chicken are decent at best, similar to chain restaurants. The location is convenient, but there is room for improvement. I will visit again!

I visited with a friend because it said "new store"! The shop is located under the JR Okachimachi viaduct and decorated with flowers, so we decided to go in! We were just having a casual drink, but the interior of the shop was new and spacious. There is a second floor, but we sat on the first floor where there was only one male staff member who seemed quite busy. We placed our order and it arrived at a normal speed for a restaurant. The taste was similar to a chain izakaya, but the yakitori was honestly a bit tough. Other than that, it was neither good nor bad. Thank you for the meal!

Last Friday, while taking a walk in Ueno, I came across some celebratory flowers in front of a shop. I was curious if it was a new opening, but couldn't find any information on Google. Today, I decided to visit the place as I was still intrigued. It looked like a casual izakaya under the bridge, which made it even more interesting. There was only one other group of customers inside. I decided to try a tea cocktail instead of beer for a change. The appetizer cost 200 yen and we were served something like simmered vegetables. The staff greeted us with a warm smile and I learned that this was their first branch, not affiliated with any other chain like "Edoichi". We ordered cucumber miso, shiitake skewers, and white onion skewers. The shiitake skewers had a buttery flavor to them. The cucumber miso was a nice side dish. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience. The staff was fluent in Japanese and seemed very experienced.

Well, I had some Monjayaki and then wandered around Ameyoko! While Monjayaki in Tsukishima is good, the real charm of the area under the tracks is the Senbero izakaya! Reminiscing about my time working in Tokyo, I got a little tipsy! I found a new restaurant in Ueno! Oh? Is Edoichi a sister store of Otsuka? Quick attack! Injecting into my chilled body! Here we go! The appetizer is cream croquette! Fluffy and crispy! Soy sauce goes well with it! Salmon carpaccio! Refreshing and healthy salmon with onion dressing for a light flavor! But I still want to eat it with soy sauce! Skewers! Shiitake mushrooms are thick but light! Add some soy sauce for a hint of richness! The tsukune is also light even with the sauce! A touch of spiciness with shichimi pepper! Beer is Premium Malts! It has a nice creamy foam! Talking about work and personal stories, the atmosphere is totally under the tracks! Feeling good, it's time to pay! Well, it seems like I ended up drinking a bit! Considering the prices in this area, it's understandable, but the quality is so-so, still needs some improvement, like my assistant! But you know, if you want a casual drink in a cozy place, I might drop by again when I come back to Tokyo!

When I came to do some shopping in Okachimachi, I stopped by this place. Unfortunately, they didn't have Hoppy, so I tried a lemon sour with strong carbonation, but it was a bit too sweet for my liking. The appetizer was like a simmered dish similar to Chikuzen-ni. The food I ordered was octopus with ponzu sauce, which I think was around 290 yen, but the portion was generous and it tasted delicious. Overall, the prices are cheap, and the waitstaff were efficient and friendly, making it a pleasant place to drink. The atmosphere is casual and I would like to come back again.

I came in because I wanted to eat something refreshing as I had been eating fried and dried foods. I ordered a highball, pickled cucumber, and tuna sashimi.
