I went for lunch on Sunday. I chose the course that costs over 3500 yen because it required a reservation. The course included four appetizers, xiaolongbao, fried dish, vegetable dish, main dish, noodles, and dessert. The four appetizers were white asparagus tofu, daikon and sea chicken salad, ham, and stir-fried greens. They were all delicious with a unique touch, like the salad with shiso leaves as an accent and the flavorful tofu with asparagus. The vegetable dish was simple, just blanched lettuce with oyster sauce, but surprisingly tasty. The main dish was braised pork with a rich sauce of oyster sauce and black vinegar, served with a steamed bun. Although I was already full, I enjoyed the soupless tantan noodles with cilantro and pine nuts for a refreshing finish. The dessert was almond tofu and soy sauce pudding, which had a unique salty-sweet taste that was surprisingly delicious. Overall, the meal had a refreshing, Japanese-friendly taste that was a blend of Chinese and Japanese flavors. The simple, cafe-like atmosphere of the restaurant added to the experience, and I look forward to visiting again.

I was told over the phone that it was a counter reservation, but when I arrived, it was actually a table reservation. I had booked the lunch course for 5,900 yen. I had prepared by studying reviews beforehand, imagining a calm atmosphere, but it turned out to be a bustling lunch with the restaurant fully packed on a holiday afternoon. Each dish was satisfying, even though the setting was not as expected. The dishes were decent overall. The seating was a bit cramped and I couldn't relax, but the food was tasty. My companion's favorites were the appetizer and the spring rolls! The spring rolls had a nice, not too heavy flavor. The soup had a simple, gentle herbal quality, while the sweet and sour pork was quite rich in flavor. The dan dan noodles seemed to have been sitting for a while as the noodles were a bit firm. It was a filling lunch after a long time. Thank you for the meal!

Daily lunch set for 2,200 yen. Main dish: Stir-fried chicken liver and leek. Fried dish: Seafood wonton. Simmered dish: Pork with black bean sauce. Two appetizers, rice, soup included. On Sunday at 11:30, the restaurant was fully booked. No reservation was made, but managed to get a seat at the counter. Michelin regular, rated BRONZE on Tabelog 2021. - The liver and leek dish with pork and black bean sauce is a bit heavy. Recommended dishes include mapo tofu, sweet and sour pork, tantanmen, and black vinegar ramen. Reasonably priced and easy to use Chinese cuisine. Featured in TOKYO's Top 100 Restaurants 2023.

I visited for lunch. My mother really wanted to eat the chilled tantanmen, so we ordered that along with the chicken and core vegetable simmered soba in a clay pot. The lunch set also came with appetizers and xiaolongbao, which was a great deal! The chilled tantanmen was delicious! They even provided a hook for our bags. However, it was disappointing when my mother tried to compliment the food twice to the staff clearing our dishes, but they ignored her.

I recently went to Ebisu for the first time in a few years and had lunch here. I made a reservation for the lighter course priced at 3900 yen since only course meals were available. It was a Saturday, but the restaurant was only about half full. Perhaps because I had a reservation for 1 pm. I started the course with jasmine tea. Everything was delicious! Not incredibly amazing, but definitely tasty. I'm not a fan of pork, so I had the main dish changed to stir-fried shrimp with yellow chives. My friend had the pork belly stew with manju as a side, and it was quite filling. We finished eating up to dessert in just about 2 hours. The layout of the restaurant or maybe the close seating arrangement made it a bit difficult to hear due to the voices of the people next to us echoing, which was a bit disappointing.

Ebisu's lunch, which won the 2023, 21st, and Bronze awards for the Top 100 Chinese Restaurants, starts at 1600 yen. I visited on Wednesday at 11:35 and there were two groups of four people at the table seats and one person at the counter seat. It had been about a year since I last visited, around last year's Obon. I remembered there was a delicious place nearby, but I forgot the name, so I searched for Ebisu's Top 100 restaurants under 3000 yen, but it didn't show up. When I changed the search criteria to places I had visited before, I realized that the budget had increased. However, since it was nearby, I went there and checked the menu. The prices hadn't changed from last year, starting at 1600 yen on weekdays and 2200 yen on weekends and holidays. Since it was hot today, I ordered the chilled tantanmen for 1850 yen. The two appetizers arrived quickly, one was potato with sansho pepper and the other was simmered chicken. The potato with sansho had a good crunch, and the simmered chicken was spicy with a hint of star anise, both were delicious. About 7-8 minutes later, three xiaolongbao arrived. When I broke the chewy skin, the soup overflowed, and they were also delicious. I thought some of them might break because of the thin skin, but none of them did. As soon as I finished the xiaolongbao, the chilled tantanmen arrived. It looked refreshing in a glass bowl, and the red chili oil dotted on the light tea-colored broth made it visually appealing. Despite being chilled, it was quite spicy, and the noodles were thin but had a good bite, complementing the creamy and spicy broth. The total bill was 1850 yen including tax, and I was able to pay by card. I left around 12 o'clock, and there was only one table seat left (probably reserved). The counter seats were almost full when I left (maybe 50% capacity due to COVID restrictions). I recommend making a reservation if possible, as more than half of the later customers mentioned they had reservations.

This summer is unusually hot! So, I've been having cold noodles for lunch, and I finally got to try the cold tantanmen here! It was always crowded whenever I tried to go before. It's very popular and all the tables were full. I ended up sitting at the counter, where I could watch the open kitchen. The open kitchen was so close that I worried about coughing or choking because they were cooking right in front of me. On this day, I had the following (tax included): - Cold tantanmen 1850 yen You might think it's a bit expensive for lunch, but it comes with appetizers and 3 xiaolongbao, so it's worth it. The appetizers were simmered chicken wings and Japanese potato with sansho pepper dressing, I think. The xiaolongbao had thin skin and juicy meat inside. The cold tantanmen was served in a glass bowl, looking refreshing, with a sesame and soy milk base topped with spicy chili oil, creating a rich soup. The minced meat and green onions were a nice touch. It was more on the spicy side than mild. I found it a bit too spicy for me, but it was delicious. As the lingering heat continues, cold tantanmen will surely remain popular. I hope to visit again someday.

A wonderful Chinese restaurant located in the underground of Ebisu. You can enjoy authentic Chinese cuisine in a stylish atmosphere. The appetizers come in a plate with four different kinds, all with delicate flavors. The Peking duck was my favorite. The main dishes and the noodles at the end were also delicious. The almond jelly dessert was also authentic and tasty!

This restaurant in Ebisu was listed as a one-star in the 2018 Michelin Tokyo guide, showcasing its exceptional quality. I visited on a weekday right after opening and was able to get a seat without a reservation. The place was about two-thirds full when I arrived and quickly became fully booked, indicating its popularity. I dined alone, but there is also a counter where you can enjoy your meal. I ordered the weekday lunch set for 1,850 yen. The set included a variety of appetizers, such as "Wood Ear Mushroom and Ginger Salad" and "Sichuan-Style Potatoes", which were flavorful and enjoyable. The highlight was the "Xiaolongbao" dumplings, bursting with umami flavor and a delicate skin. I wish there were more of them! The "Drooling Chicken Cold Noodles" (summer limited edition) had an ethnic touch with coriander, and the spicy chicken paired well with the thin noodles, creating a refreshing dish. Overall, the Japanese-friendly Chinese cuisine was delicious and expertly prepared in the open kitchen, where the chefs worked efficiently yet calmly. It was a delightful and elegant dining experience.

It had been a while since I last visited Masazuki Kitchen. Although I had been there for dinner a few times, this was my first time trying their lunch menu. I called ahead, expecting a long line, but was told it was okay to come directly. One of my companions loves tantanmen, so we ordered that along with a rice dish. The portions were generous, with plenty of sauce, and we ended up feeling too full to move after lunch. Ebisu has many delicious restaurants, but personally, I have a lot of favorite Chinese restaurants in the area. I would love to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

"Masa's Kitchen," a hidden gem in Ebisu, opened its doors in 2008. Despite its sophisticated Western-style appearance, stepping inside reveals an unexpected level of stylishness. The impression is set by the open and airy kitchen, creating an atmosphere far from what one might expect in a traditional Chinese restaurant. The fluffy texture of the crab rice, the rich broth of the addictive tantan noodles, and the juicy xiaolongbao enjoyed alongside an array of appetizers—all contribute to a dining experience that transcends mere sustenance. A meal here promises to be a truly special moment beyond just eating. Be sure to check out the Instagram account '@chocofurape' as well. Liking, following, and saving the restaurant would greatly contribute to showing your support.

In the midst of the scorching heat, leisure activities are best enjoyed in the cooler mornings. The Yamane Museum has air conditioning, although it may be a bit too strong to protect the artworks. Don't forget to bring a jacket. When it comes to dining out, my companion has become less adventurous lately, preferring reliable, delicious, clean, and polite service over trying new places. The level of this restaurant is indeed high, so I have no objections. We didn't have a reservation, but arrived just as they opened and were seated right away. Dining alone means sitting at the counter, while my companion and I had a table. We usually order courses or mini-courses, but this time we were drawn to the cold noodles. The "Yodare Chicken Cold Noodles" for 1850 yen features noodles as the main dish, along with two appetizers and three xiao long bao. The appetizers arrived quickly - the winter melon soaked in a good dried shrimp broth was a translucent jade color, perfectly chilled for summer. The finely chopped red core radish and scallop mixture had a crunchy texture and was also very delicious. The piping hot xiao long bao arrived in a steamer, so be careful not to spill the soup inside. Mmm, the pork flavor is delicious! Finally, the long-awaited "Yodare Chicken Cold Noodles"! The spicy sauce, exotic spices, thin noodles, shanzai, and chicken all come together for a powerful and delicious combination. This is perfect for a hot day. The menu alternating between cold and hot dishes was also appealing. I always leave this place completely satisfied. The ventilation fan must be strong, as you really have to push the door to open it (laughs). After recharging with delicious food, I'm all good!

"I visited Ebisu for two consecutive days. Today, I came alone to explore Ebisu, with the goal of visiting 'MASA'S KITCHEN,' one of the 'Top 100 Chinese Restaurants.' As a resident of Kanagawa, I often visit Chinatown for Chinese cuisine, so I hadn't explored Chinese restaurants in Tokyo much. However, I wanted to visit this restaurant as it offers a good deal for lunch, with a slightly different atmosphere from traditional Chinatown restaurants. [Nearest Station/Location] - It is located about a 7-minute walk from Ebisu Station East Exit. On the way, there are trendy cafes and restaurants lined up, and the entrance is downstairs with a lunch sign on the first floor, making it easy to find. [Seating] - From what I saw, there are a few table seats and about 10 counter seats, and I chose to sit at the counter. [Visit Time/Day] - I arrived on a Sunday (during the Obon period) around noon. I did not have a reservation but there were available seats, and I was seated promptly. The staff's courteous service gave the impression of a high-end establishment! [Order] - I ordered the 'Daily Lunch Set for 2,200 yen tax included.' The set includes a main dish (Szechuan-style fried tofu), rice, 2 appetizers, fried food (squid fritters), soup, and steamed dish (shiitake mushroom dumplings), offering a variety of cooking methods to enjoy. *Rice refills are free. [Food Impressions] - Overall, the food was 'Japanese-style Chinese cuisine.' Everything was incredibly delicious, ranking among the top Chinese restaurants I've tried. The main dish, featuring fried tofu, bamboo shoots, and wood ear mushrooms, had a spicy kick but also a rich umami flavor. It was a perfect accompaniment to rice! The squid fritters were incredibly tender, easily biteable. The shiitake mushroom dumplings were made with shrimp and shiitake mushrooms, served in a soy sauce and sesame oil-infused broth, which was also delicious. The flavors were gentle and served as a palate cleanser. [Special Mention] - I was truly impressed by this Chinese Top 100 restaurant! The taste was outstanding, the hospitality was impeccable. Moreover, the chic atmosphere of the restaurant in Ebisu, the excitement of watching the dishes being prepared in front of you at the counter. And the thrill of being served. Highly recommended. Considering the quality and quantity of dishes, the cost performance is also reasonable! However, it seems that if you go on weekdays, you can order this set for 200 yen cheaper. One small suggestion, adding a dessert like almond jelly to the lunch set would have added to the overall enjoyment."

The number one Chinese restaurant in Ebisu. The caviar cold noodles and simmered shark fin are especially delicious. I have been here about 20 times, and every guest I bring is always impressed. The restaurant can be a bit cold, so it's better to dress warmly.

I visited a three-star Chinese restaurant two weeks ago and it was amazing. To challenge that experience, I went to MASA'S KITCHEN. I have been there a few times before (twice in Nagoya, twice in Ebisu main store), so I was familiar with the menu. The friendly staff at MASA'S KITCHEN accommodated my last-minute request for an unreasonable course. The "Special Chef's Course" for ¥24,000 included: 6 types of appetizers, caviar, abalone, cold noodles, spring rolls, eggplant with Sichuan pepper, kikurage mushroom and pork in new soy sauce, mapo tofu, shark fin steak, chili prawns, Chengdu-style crab balls with XO sauce, chilled tantan noodles, and a dessert trio (rum raisin ice cream, special almond tofu, Miyazaki prefecture ripe mango pudding). Honestly, it was the second most delicious course of my life. Thank you for the feast. By the way, what was the first? It was at a maze restaurant I visited in Singapore this year.

Visited for a ladies' lunch. The atmosphere was great and the place was fully booked that day. I'm glad I made a reservation. I sat at the counter. The timing of the dishes coming out was just right. I visited for lunch on a Sunday. The restaurant was fully booked with reservations. I ordered a small course, but despite its name, it was a satisfying meal. From the appetizer to the main course to dessert, everything was delicious. The taste was so good that I wanted to come back for more after just the appetizer. The service was excellent, with perfect timing for refilling water. I truly believe this is a Chinese restaurant that I can highly recommend.

The service level is high (probably too high lol). I had been curious about this place for a while, so I decided to have lunch here. I wanted to try the mapo tofu, so I ordered the hot pot mapo tofu lunch. The taste was safe but not exactly to my liking. The crab meatballs and tantan cold noodles that other people ordered looked really delicious, so I thought I would come back to try them another time. The service was very pleasant, with the staff bringing a new napkin immediately when I dropped one, and refilling my water without me having to ask. The only downside was the xiaolongbao that came with the lunch set, which was served a while after the mapo tofu. By that time, the spiciness of the mapo tofu had affected the taste of the xiaolongbao. Additionally, the xiaolongbao was served to a woman who arrived after me before me. It's okay for customers to be served in different orders, but the order of serving dishes is important.

I had been curious about this restaurant! Last time it was full and I couldn't get in, so I tried again on a weekday as a party of one. I was able to get a seat at the counter this time. The atmosphere is elegant and it seems to cater to an older crowd. There were a few solo diners, but it seemed like most people came in groups of two or more. I tried the soupless tantanmen, which came with appetizers and xiaolongbao! Everything was delicious. As a fan of tantanmen, I'm also curious about the chilled tantanmen and the soup-based tantanmen...!! It's a bit pricey but I would like to go again.

Nearest station: There is a shop on the basement floor of Ebisu, so you might pass by without noticing! Once inside, it's quite lively and crowded with group customers, mostly salarymen. It's truly a popular restaurant. Today, I dined at the counter seat right in front of the kitchen. "Today's Menu" ¥14,800 (tax included) • Assorted 6 types of appetizers • Extra order (Caviar and Sea Urchin Capellini) *Price unknown • Today's fried dish • Today's soup • Today's special dish • Today's premium shark fin dish • Today's noodles • Dessert *Choose from 9 types When ordering, you will be asked about the cooking method of the shark fin. Stewed or grilled shark fin. The simple one is stewed. But today, out of curiosity, I chose grilled shark fin! Grilling the shark fin at high temperature created a new texture and taste, which was interesting. However, honestly, preferences may vary. I still prefer the tender stewed shark fin. The other dishes were classic Chinese flavors that skillfully brought out the sourness and bitterness. The shrimp chili is especially recommended! By the time I ordered dessert, I was already full. Overall, the course meal was quite generous in portion. Overall, it's a wonderful Chinese restaurant with no disappointments. Thank you for the feast! *Rating at the time of posting (3.74)
