In the area around Gakugei University and Tokyo Metropolitan University, there is a famous and delicious restaurant from the Rika Rika group. They used to only open at night along Meguro Street, but now they also offer lunch. The course menu is 2,800 yen. The appetizers are amazing, with a variety of dishes surrounding the egg. Each dish has its own unique twist, making it enjoyable to eat. The pasta is flat but with a zigzag edge, and it is delicious with nuts and cheese. You can watch the chefs prepare the food at the counter, and the large tables not only provide a sense of openness but also a feeling of togetherness for larger groups. The atmosphere is stylish and perfect for hanging out with friends and having a good time.

On Saturday at 6:30 PM, I had a reservation at a fancy restaurant with a friend. They had a wide variety of wines and asked about our preferences before serving us. As a beginner in wines, I felt a bit embarrassed to ask for a level 1 wine, but they were very understanding and accommodating. We had delicious dishes like "Mil Baku" mozzarella with fermented tomato sauce, assorted raw ham, pehoso and polenta, and pici al ragu. Each bite was so delightful, especially the mozzarella! I felt so happy and content with the meal.

This popular liquor store, part of the Rika Rika chain, opened in 2020 near the university and public university. It is the only store in the chain that also offers a market and liquor sales, with a great selection of Italian natural wines. I visited for lunch while strolling around. Located along Meguro Street, it is a bit of a distance from the university station and towards Musashikoyama. They have recently switched to evening-only operations starting in December, so visiting during the day at the end of November was the last chance. I had the Salsiccia and Fermented Vegetable Ragù Spaghetti, which had a nice salty flavor from the salsiccia and capers that made me crave wine. Unfortunately, I had work in the afternoon so I didn't have any wine, but I think it would have been more enjoyable with a glass. The staff mentioned that they will be adding more French natural wine bottles in the future, which I am looking forward to.

I used this restaurant for a date. It was around 6 PM I think. I had always wanted to go there, and since I moved closer, I thought I had to go. I called and made a reservation. It seemed like they were just able to fit us in. Anyway, the wine was delicious, and the assorted appetizers were all tasty! The prosciutto was so melt-in-your-mouth!! I was so happy. The staff was friendly and nice. We kept the food light and indulged in various kinds of wine. It cost around 20,000 yen for the two of us, but I definitely want to go again! I absolutely want to go back! Thank you for the wonderful meal!

◆Excellent Dish: Fermented Peperoncino Butter Spaghetti Fermented Peperoncino Butter Spaghetti, with egg yolk and fragrant seaweed, already sounds delicious from the menu name alone! The fermented peperoncino butter is made with fermented butter, fermented chili peppers, colatura (fish sauce), and other fermented seasonings. The way this butter coats the spaghetti with its rich oily texture is irresistible, enhanced by the spicy kick of the chili peppers and the boldness of the garlic. The creamy egg yolk and the aroma of the seaweed add the finishing touch. This pasta is simple, but there's no way it could not be delicious. ◆Menu for this Visit: - Assorted Appetizers - Assorted Vegetables: Lotus Root Kinpira, Water Kimchi, Sweet Potato Leaves Salad - Chilled Butter Nut Soup - Thinly Sliced Prosciutto with Cratta and Pancetta - Cot, Marinated Beans, Smoked Chicken Liver Confit, Okra Kimchi, Mozzarella and Figs, Smoked Octopus with Cumin Fig Butter and Cocoa Bruschetta - Delicious Anchovy and Butter, Pistachio Bruschetta - Oyster and King Oyster Mushroom Ripe Cream Gratin - Fried Chicken and Vegetables in Doburoku Vinegar - Pici Bolognese - Fermented Peperoncino Butter Spaghetti with Egg Yolk and Fragrant Seaweed - Plus, 1 can of beer and 1 bottle of rosé wine (shared by 2 people) Price: 7800 yen per person for dinner ◆Enjoying this Restaurant: - Profile: Popular Italian restaurant Ricari's sister store. A new business model that combines a shop, lab, and office. Opened in November 2020. - Ordering: You can freely choose beer from the showcase. Wine by the glass starts at 800 yen, bottles at 5200 yen, and craft gin at 800 yen. - Atmosphere: On the left side of the restaurant is a food retail shop, on the right is a modern office, and the central large table is the dining area. Despite the partitions due to the pandemic, the inclusive nature of this setup is unique, allowing for interactions between diners. ◆Source: Found on Instagram and enjoyed it. Thank you for the meal!

There is a shop on Meguro Street from Gakugei-daigaku Station. They hold a market on weekends, offering wine, ingredients, and tasting events inside the shop. I enjoyed delicious fresh oysters, salad mix, asparagus, broccoli, prepared with ham and peperoncino for takeout. I also had smoked octopus in a pouch along with chilled white wine. This shop is the best!

My boyfriend and I visited this place. I had been curious about it for a while, so we rushed in right before last order! Anyway, the wine and all the dishes were delicious. There are many types of wine, and no matter what dish you order, it's tasty. The bruschetta with prosciutto and cheese and the simmered salted Ezo pork were especially amazing. And the minced cutlet was so juicy... I will definitely come back again!

Rikarika Group, a popular restaurant at Gakushuin University and Tokyo Metropolitan University, has introduced a new concept. They serve rice porridge sets in the morning, fermented curry for lunch, and appetizers with a natural grocery shop in the evening. The restaurant is located on Meguro Street, with one side entirely made of glass allowing sunlight to fill the space. The seating arrangement consists of large tables for communal dining. I visited for lunch and tried the fermented curry, which was a unique blend of flavors including dried seaweed, pecorino cheese, dried natto, fermented black beans, Italian parsley, spicy pickled mustard greens, chili tomato sauce, and yogurt sauce. Unlike trendy spiced curries, this fermented curry had a deep and tangy taste with a surprising kick from the spicy pickled mustard greens. It was a delightful meal.

It's winter on the calendar, but it was a warm day. I went for a walk along Meguro Street, an area where I used to frequent when looking for furniture. For lunch, I tried the "Fermented Spice Curry (1500 yen)" at a newly opened restaurant in early November. The curry was topped with various ingredients such as seaweed, cheese, pickled mustard greens, dried natto, fermented black beans, parsley, chili tomato sauce, and yogurt sauce. The mild spiciness and slightly acidic flavor of the curry change as you eat, making it a gentle and enjoyable taste. It may be a bit pricey, but I believe it offers a valuable and delicious experience. The restaurant has a large central table where all customers sit, and the cooking is done there as well. The close proximity to other diners without any partitions made me a bit uncomfortable. It would have been nice if the stylish restaurant had subtly adapted to the new lifestyle norms. *Cash or PayPay only. Credit cards are not accepted yet.

[Access] 10 minutes' walk from Gakugei-daigaku Station [Visit time] 18:00 [Number of people] 2 people [Reservation] Walk-in [Dishes] ------------------------------------- ■ Steamed egg custard as a starter ¥700 ■ Soft-boiled egg with sea urchin mayo ¥600 ■ Amour polenta with peppers and salami ¥500 ■ Cocoa toast with fig butter ¥500 ■ Salted whitefish and butter bruschetta ¥500 ■ Thinly sliced raw ham with pancetta cotte ¥1,200 Total of 6 dishes ------------------------------------- [Impressions] I visited this place about a month after it opened. They serve healthy porridge in the morning, spicy curry for lunch, and familiar dishes like prosciutto and bruschetta at night. On this day, we didn't order any mains and tried the bruschetta. The portions were generous, the presentation was not too flashy but cute, fitting perfectly with the calm and stylish atmosphere of the restaurant. And most importantly, everything was delicious. The acidity, sweetness, and textures were all different, creating flavors that definitely complemented the wine. I'm curious about other items on the menu, so I'd like to visit again at some point. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

This is a newly opened restaurant along Meguro Street within a 10-minute walk from Gakugeidaigaku Station on the Tokyu Toyoko Line. The restaurant has an interesting concept where it operates in three different styles throughout the day. From 9:00 to 11:30, it specializes in porridge, from 11:30 to 14:30 it serves spicy curry, and after 18:00 it transforms into a bar-like atmosphere. The restaurant is affiliated with the popular bar "Liquor Liquor" nearby, and while it incorporates some Indian elements in its cooking methods and spices, it leans more towards a Western essence. The food is a delicious curry that creatively uses both Japanese and Western ingredients with interesting recipes. The exterior and interior of the restaurant are stylish, utilizing an old building in a cool way. They also sell Italian food ingredients, which would attract those interested in cooking. The restaurant has a chic vibe with long tables, resembling a stylish meeting room with a kitchen attached. The Chicken Curry, ordered in a large portion, costs 1500 yen with an additional 150 yen for a large portion, plus tax, totaling 1820 yen. Despite the high price, the curry is not the chunky type but has a gravy-like consistency with a rich umami flavor from the Japanese dried beans used. The umami flavor is strong, complemented by a hint of vinegar acidity, creating a well-balanced and delicious taste that doesn't get boring. The Pecorino cheese and yogurt add a subtle touch without overpowering the dish. Overall, it is a high-quality and tasteful curry that cannot be achieved just by spending money. It is recommended for those with a bit of extra budget to spare.

Located about 15 minutes from Gakugei University, Ri.Carica Land! is a chain of restaurants that are all very delicious. @ri.carica This restaurant serves only fermented spice curry for lunch, and it was truly amazing! The curry, which contains various spices and fermented ingredients, is exquisite. I have attached a photo of the menu with the items listed in the fourth picture. The rice made with mixed grains was also delightful. Due to the state of emergency, only takeout was available so I bought curry. Looking at the photos of those who ate in the restaurant, it seems that some ingredients were missing. The portion size was just right for lunch. The curry had a strong acidity but the aroma of the spices was good and delicious. However, at around 1400 yen including tax, the cost performance is not very good. This applies to other affiliated stores as well, but the balance between the atmosphere of the restaurant and the price is not good. It's obvious that expensive things are delicious, so I hope there could be some effort to make it a little cheaper.

Spicy curry with pickles and yogurt mixed in. Priced at 1,400 yen, it's quite expensive. The rice is a mix of polished and brown, resembling brown rice. It's interesting to see a heap of dried seaweed-like topping. It's been a while since I had spicy curry, but I think the occasional craving is due to the sour taste.
