Exit the JR Ueno Station central ticket gate and head straight to the Hirokoji intersection. Cross the signal in front of you and continue straight on Ueno Okachimachi Chuo Street. There is a shop beyond the Seven-Eleven. On a cold night, I had a sudden craving for oden, so I ordered the assorted oden (7 varieties) first. It includes konjac, fish cake, daikon radish, shirataki noodles, kombu seaweed, boiled egg, and hanpen. The rich broth seeped into my body, warming me up from the inside. It's the kind of dish you just have to have during this season. I also ordered the assorted skewers (5 pieces) with sauce. During my visit, it included negima (green onion and chicken), pork belly, bonjiri (chicken tail), quail, and chicken thigh. Apart from these, there are other options like chicken skin, chicken wings, gizzards, chicken tenderloin, tsukune (chicken meatballs), pork belly, shiitake mushrooms, etc. Each skewer is priced at 100 yen (excluding tax). I tried the chicken dumplings as they were unique. The chicken and chive dumplings had a chewy skin that paired well with the filling. The juicy filling was irresistible. They also have pork dumplings available. I enjoyed the salt and pepper fried chicken wings. The crispy fried wings paired perfectly with the salt and pepper seasoning, a great choice for wing lovers. They also offer a secret sauce option. For a finishing touch, I had the thick grilled egg with mentaiko and cheese topping (+110 yen). The combination of mentaiko, cheese, and the egg was a delightful treat for egg lovers. Apart from the mentaiko thick grilled egg, they also have options like sakura shrimp thick grilled egg, cheese thick grilled egg, dashimaki tamago (rolled omelet), etc. For dessert, I tried the vanilla cream zenzai with mochi balls. The combination of sweet red bean paste, mochi balls, black syrup, and vanilla ice cream in a crispy monaka shell was a delightful treat. They also have a matcha option available. For drinks, I had the Asahi Super Dry draft beer, Ogasawara Passion Fruit craft chu-hi, craft lemon sour. I started with the Asahi Super Dry draft beer. Between 11 am and 5 pm, you can have unlimited drinks for 250 yen each (excluding tax). I also tried the Ogasawara Passion Fruit craft chu-hi, which had a sweet aroma and a tangy flavor. It is made from passion fruit juice from the Ogasawara Islands, passion fruit spirits, and selected aged shochu. Lastly, I had the craft lemon sour, which is a great choice for lemon sour lovers. They also offer honey lemon sour, tower lemon sour (limited quantity), and regular lemon sour. They have a 120-minute all-you-can-drink option available with different price points and drink options. The restaurant is open 24 hours, so you can enjoy food and drinks at any time you like.
