On December 11, 2019, I visited this dining establishment for the first time with two friends. They offer okonomiyaki, Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, and monjayaki. The location is just past the middle of the Palm Shopping Street, on the left after entering the "Showa Cafe Romance." The interior layout remains the same as when it was a bistro called "Martinique," with tables now equipped with teppan grills, creating a stylish atmosphere. The restaurant can accommodate up to 30 people. The menu may give off a mass-produced vibe, but I was told that the restaurant is independently owned despite being operated by a corporation. In the area, there are many established restaurants specializing in flour-based dishes, such as "Nagata Isshin," "Umi," "Fusuma," "Garaku Tamura," and "Mangetsu," making it a competitive district. I come from a family with Osaka roots, so I am a die-hard fan of flour-based dishes and have high standards. The dishes I tried included "Hiroshima leaf pickles" (390 yen), "Beef tendon ponzu" (600 yen), "Grilled squid with butter" (750 yen), "Tonpei-yaki" (550 yen), and "Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki with leeks and raw egg" (1200 yen). They were all delicious, especially the Hiroshima-style okonomiyaki, which I highly recommend. I also enjoyed the refreshing Setouchi citrus sour and the highball with a square ice cube. The menu is extensive and enjoyable, making this restaurant a great place for both flour-based dishes and izakaya-style dining. I wish they had more local highball options available. They also offer a drink all-you-can for two hours, which I unfortunately discovered too late. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and I look forward to visiting again.
