Near Toranomon Hills, there is a teppanyaki restaurant called "Matsusaka Beef Kaiseki Shin". The restaurant is located in the former space of Chef Maya Tazaki's "S+". Because of this, the interior has a high ceiling and a luxurious atmosphere. The Matsusaka beef kaiseki course is priced at 10,000 yen, and with free-flowing drinks it is 12,000 yen, offering good value for money. A chef with three Michelin stars from New York has recently been appointed as the new head chef. The tempura is fried in oil made from 100% Matsusaka beef fat. While the dishes, including the famous sukiyaki, are satisfactory, the portion sizes of the courses could be a bit larger for male customers.

Today, I had a monthly dinner with my colleagues. There were four of us in a private room at the restaurant. The place had a hidden gem vibe, with high ceilings and a sense of luxury. The private room was spacious and had a calm atmosphere. We started with a toast with beer. The course meal, which was a kaiseki style, was well-prepared and each dish had a special touch. Everything was delicious. The main dish, Matsusaka beef, was served as steak and sukiyaki, both of which were excellent. The course cost 10,000 yen, which I think was a good value for the quality of the food. Overall, it was a wonderful experience with a lovely restaurant, great ambiance, delicious food. Thank you for the meal.

I found a delicious restaurant and arrived. The course with all-you-can-drink sukiyaki was a great deal for me as the alcohol bill can add up. The contents were also excellent with a great appetizer, tempura, and sukiyaki! The sukiyaki was also excellent and made me want to add more meat. I would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal.

On the night of October 19th, I visited Matsusaka Beef Kaiseki Shin, located between Toranomon Hills Station and Kamiyacho Station. I was led to a private room and enjoyed a course meal with all-you-can-drink option. We started with a toast with sparkling wine and savored dishes such as steak and sukiyaki. For the <Appetizer>, we had Matsusaka beef dashi with a rich flavor of beef and matsutake mushrooms. The <Side Dish> was Matsusaka beef temari sushi, a unique and delicious dish. The <Sashimi> included fresh tai and scallops, as well as foie gras and beef. After two glasses of champagne, we switched to white wine. The <Fried Dish> was a platter of seasonal vegetables fried in Matsusaka beef fat, complemented well by Himalayan black salt. The <Grilled Dish> was Matsusaka beef straw-grilled steak, perfectly cooked and delicious. We then enjoyed red wine. The <Specialty> was authentic sukiyaki, served hot with a generous amount of sauce poured over the meat. It was a delightful experience to mix the egg yolk with the tender meat. For <Dessert>, we had a birthday cake, Shine Muscat grapes, and ice cream. Overall, it was a pleasant dining experience with three private rooms in addition to the counter seating, making it suitable for business meals.

I was invited by a friend to this place. The chawanmushi that came out first was delicious. I could really taste the Matsusaka beef broth in it. Next, there was Matsusaka beef tataki topped with truffle on sushi, which I honestly didn't quite understand. It felt like various flavors were fighting each other. Especially the nori flavor stood out. Then came a plate of seafood... Maybe they serve seafood because Matsusaka beef alone can get boring? I was surprised to see seafood at a Matsusaka beef specialty restaurant... There was sea bream, scallop, and ankimo. And of course, beef. The tempura fried in beef fat didn't seem good... It was heavy... very heavy. Ingredients like mushrooms and potatoes absorbed too much fat. And the batter was too thick. Sukiyaki and rice were served next. This was delicious. And then Matsusaka beef steak. This was just average. It's 12,000 yen with all-you-can-drink, so it's reasonable, but it feels like they focused more on the presentation. I wish they had offered a more expensive option so I could fully enjoy the Matsusaka beef. I wonder if people who truly know good food will still come here. Personally, I probably won't go unless I'm invited again...

The impression was that the use of space inside the restaurant was like a Southeast Asian restaurant mixed with a rural Japanese setting, which was quite unexpected for a dining establishment in Toranomon. The counter area felt too spacious, and I thought a cozier atmosphere would be more comfortable. The restaurant seemed to be newly opened and had a somewhat makeshift feel, but I was curious about the thought process behind the interior design. On the other hand, the private rooms were convenient and nice. The service from the staff was good overall. The food had good value for money, with decent taste, although the steak was mediocre. The sukiyaki was delicious. The presentation of the dishes was not very appealing, which was a shame as the food didn't look appetizing in photos. Despite the many areas for improvement mentioned, overall, considering the value for money, it was a good experience. I can only imagine it will get better with time.

I went to lunch with friends. The sukiyaki bowl looked completely different from what I imagined, but it was surprisingly delicious. It might not be suitable for those who don't like raw meat. The restaurant has a luxurious atmosphere.

Located near Toranomon Hills, this restaurant is a bit hidden down a small alley, not easily found by chance. The course menu features a luxurious selection with a focus on Matsusaka beef. The seasonal vegetable tempura is fried in Matsusaka beef fat, adding a special touch. The private rooms offer a relaxing atmosphere, with various options for all-you-can-drink, including a night featuring unlimited sake. The staff are skilled at making recommendations, possibly too good at their job, as I ended up having a second bottle of sake, "Koeikiku," at their suggestion. When I saw on their website that the Matsusaka beef course with all-you-can-drink in a private room was only 10,000 yen, I was initially worried about the quality and atmosphere. However, after visiting and speaking with the staff, I was pleasantly surprised by the delicious food, great atmosphere, and overall convenience. I have a feeling that this hidden gem will start to attract more repeat customers.

At the foot of Mt. Atago, there used to be a restaurant called "S+" owned by Mr. Masaya Tasaki. I knew that "S+" had closed down, but I didn't realize that this new restaurant opened in 2018. Mr. Tasaki also closed down "T+" on the top of Mt. Atago, and it seems like his wine school is also gone. I wonder what happened to him. This new restaurant "Shin" is not related to Mr. Tasaki, it's just operating in the same location. The layout includes a long counter and private rooms. I was the only customer at 11:30 am. I was seated in the middle of the counter. The lunch menu offers dishes like Matsusaka beef sukiyaki bowl, Matsusaka beef curry, and Matsusaka beef curry with beef shank. Each dish comes in regular, large, or double portions. I ordered the Matsusaka beef sukiyaki bowl in a double portion for 1900 yen. The thinly sliced raw beef was served on top of rice, and it was more raw than rare. The beef was warm, and it was served with a sauce that gave it a sukiyaki-like flavor when eaten with raw egg yolk. However, the fatty beef and warm texture were a bit unsatisfying. The rice wasn't very hot either. The dish had a good amount of beef and rice, providing a satisfying meal. The flavors were unique, resembling more of a simmered dish than sukiyaki. The price of 1900 yen for a double portion of Matsusaka beef was reasonable, but I think it would have been much tastier if the beef was a bit warmer. I would like to visit this place at night to try their steak, as it seems like that's where they shine.

I used this restaurant for my husband's birthday. I made a reservation for the recommended Matsusaka beef kaiseki course by the chef. Although I got lost coming from Toranomon Hills Station (the Atago Shrine direction B2 exit is closest), once I arrived, the interior and atmosphere of the restaurant were very beautiful and exciting. Despite the current situation with COVID-19, we were able to enjoy our meal in a private room with peace of mind. I noticed that the menu did not include a dish with lobster, so I called and was told that lobster was included. I pointed this out and was informed that due to the impact of COVID-19, the ingredients had changed. Instead, they offered a flounder that the chef had caught himself, which made me chuckle a bit. However, the chef explained each dish in detail and as an apology for the change, they upgraded our final course to a luxurious chirashi sushi with meat and seafood toppings. The food started with Matsusaka beef in shark fin white soup, which was incredibly delicious. My husband, who has eaten many delicious meals, was truly satisfied and happy with the quality of the food. The attentive service from the chef with a kind heart was the best part. I would definitely like to visit this restaurant again. Thank you very much.

Shortly after opening, the staff seemed inexperienced, but the food was beautifully presented with a good balance of meat and vegetables, and the lunch was reasonably priced. However, the wine was expensive. I visited with a friend on a Saturday for lunch. I ordered the Matsusaka beef sirloin yakiniku bowl set for 1950 yen (tax included), and my friend ordered the Matsusaka beef hamburger set for 1750 yen (tax included). My friend also ordered a glass of red wine for 1500 yen (tax not included), which turned out to be Barolo. Surprisingly expensive wine for lunch. The menu names have different kanji characters for the word "set," which seems to be intentional by the restaurant. The dishes were colorful and beautifully presented. They included pesticide-free vegetables and seven side dishes made with Matsusaka beef. The dishes were simple but delicious, with a gentle and comforting taste. I particularly enjoyed the red miso soup here. The yakiniku bowl was made with high-quality meat, but unfortunately, they forgot to add the egg yolk sauce. I will make sure to ask for it next time. The portion size might be a bit small for men, but considering the use of pesticide-free vegetables and various side dishes, it is a healthy and cost-effective option. If the staff could be a bit more efficient (perhaps they are still getting used to things), it would enhance the overall experience. Despite the inexperienced staff, I still had a good impression and would like to visit again for this excellent lunch menu.

A hidden gem in the Toranomon area. This restaurant offers a luxurious Matsusaka beef kaiseki meal, which is different from just a regular teppanyaki experience. Of course, they also have courses featuring other types of wagyu beef. While there are many types of wagyu beef, Matsusaka beef is truly exceptional. Not only is it delicious, but the aftertaste and lingering flavors are superb.

This is for business use. The address is 3-chome Nishi-Shimbashi, and you can also approach from Atagoshita Street. Unfortunately, I couldn't take a photo of the exterior with my guests, but it's hard to find the entrance from the street side. Limited sale until January! New Year's party plan for 10,000 yen. In a private room, the all-you-can-drink menu (below) is unlimited time!! Even though it's probably until closing time (laughs), there seems to be no need to worry about the last order, which is great. <Unlimited time all-you-can-drink menu> Draft beer: Master's Dream Sparkling wine: Blouet Blanc (France) White wine: Lafarge Chardonnay (France) Red wine: Guigal Cote du Rhone (France) Sake: Saku (Mie) / Jokigen Kyuheiji (Aichi) Whiskey: Taketsuru (on the rocks, with water, highball) Shochu: Sato (potato, barley) (with water, soda, hot water) Various soft drinks I missed taking a photo of the second dish, but they were served in the order of the photos. Each dish has an interesting name. The first one was "Hakobushi Hassun": 5 appetizers, but the most interesting was the Matsuzaka beef American dog. It was a great surprise to have Matsuzaka beef instead of sausage. Everyone was excited by this unexpected twist. Of course, the other dishes were also good, but the tongue was especially delicious. Next was "Aishi Aisare": Hokkigai and Maruchou. Unfortunately, there is no photo, but it was also delicious. Full of umami and a good texture. Then, "Eikou no Kakehashi": sea bream, rib roast, root vegetables, dashi. This was also good. The combination of Matsuzaka beef and sea bream was elegant and refreshing. The vegetables were also delicious. Next, "Sukiyaki Reiwa Gannen": Rib core, red mizuna, leeks. This was also delicious. The very tender meat, eaten with red mizuna, was refreshing but full of umami. The drinks kept flowing. Up to now, I had beer, sparkling wine, white, red, and then switched to sake. "Nihon no Shihou": Matsuzaka beef lean straw-grilled. The concentrated umami of the lean meat was enjoyable. It was also very elegant. Oh, I can't get enough of the Matsuzaka beef experience. After this, "Onko Chishin": rice and red miso soup, pickles, should have been served, but the curry served at lunch was offered as a service. I took a bite and was happy. Hmm, unfortunately it seems the temperature wasn't enough. I didn't complain since it was a service, but I subtly conveyed the importance of temperature for expectations. Finally, three sweets with the name "Small Jewelry Box". I enjoyed them with coffee. The private room was spacious enough with comfortable chairs and high backrests, very nice. I also saw the counter seats, and both the chairs and the spacing seemed very good. The service was good, and there was no room for complaints. The unlimited time all-you-can-drink was excellent, and if the sparkling wine was changed to champagne, it would be the best. Thank you for the feast!

I tried the business lunch at a restaurant that recently reopened. I ordered the "Matsusaka beef sirloin yakiniku don set" for 1,950 yen (tax included). There were two other lunch courses available for less than 2,000 yen. The set came with 7 side dishes, miso soup (with refills), and the main dish of sirloin yakiniku don, all for less than 2,000 yen - great value! The sirloin yakiniku don had a refined flavor. If I had to say one thing, I would have liked a bit more rice on the plate (apparently they can accommodate this if requested in advance). The interior had a luxurious feel and the customers seemed very pleased. Next time, I plan to try the Matsusaka beef curry set. Since it was a set lunch, there were no additional services or comments.

The biggest point is being able to enjoy premium Matsusaka beef at a reasonable price! Beyond the heavy door, you find a luxurious and meticulously designed space. Although my spine tensed up a bit, that feeling quickly dissipated thanks to the smiles and friendly service. The texture of the Matsusaka beef was exceptional. It was cooked using straw smoke, with the fillet first undergoing low-temperature cooking to concentrate its umami, creating a marriage of the subtle aroma of straw and the richness of the meat with each bite. We opted for a la carte this time, and each dish displayed a high level of creativity, with unique combinations blending together harmoniously to fully showcase the ingredients. For example, a dish featuring surf clam and marinated beef. The surf clam alone was delicious but light and mild. The marinated Matsusaka beef complemented the lacking fatty richness, showcasing a fusion of Japanese and Western cooking techniques with originality. Even the lemon served with the beef tongue was not just a regular slice but infused with kombu and lemon espuma. I was impressed by the young chef's innovative cooking skills as he continues to challenge himself with new dishes. The wine selection that accompanied these dishes was also excellent, whether by the glass or bottle. The owner's expertise in Italian wines shone through, perfectly complementing the delicacy of the Matsusaka beef. I definitely want to visit again. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Located a little closer to Atago than Toranomon Hills, this restaurant offers a high cost-performance lunch. I visited based on the reputation of being able to enjoy a luxurious lunch at a reasonable price. The Matsusaka beef sirloin yakiniku bowl set meal costs 1950 yen including tax, making it a great deal for a lunch under 2000 yen. The set includes seven side dishes including salad, and a bowl of lightly grilled Matsusaka beef sirloin. The Matsusaka beef sirloin goes really well with rice, creating a fantastic combination of meat fat and rice. The egg yolk sauce is also delicious, making you feel truly happy when you pour it over the meat. All the side dishes are also delicious and well-prepared, making it a slightly luxurious lunch in the 1000 yen range.

I went to a restaurant in Toranomon for a special dinner with friends. We ordered the "Matsusaka Beef Course" for ¥13,000 and also requested a pairing set of Champagne, white, and red wines for ¥4,000. The Champagne presentation was amazing, with the glass lighting up when placed on the table. The restaurant used to be a French restaurant owned by Masaya Tasaki, and the beautiful design has been preserved. The fusion of French and Japanese elements in the interior was impressive. They also have lovely private rooms for a leisurely dining experience. The meal started with an appetizer of Seigoin Daikon mousse and consommé jelly, followed by a hot pot-style Matsusaka beef with Shirako. The beef was cooked in warm dashi and was incredibly delicious. The meal continued with sashimi, a white wine pairing, and a course of Matsusaka beef tartare, grilled turban shell, and crab miso. Each dish was delicate and exquisite. The highlight was the Matsusaka beef steak with three sauces, which was tender and flavorful. The meal ended with a refreshing yuzu sorbet, a stewed Matsusaka beef dish, and a luxurious beef sushi with caviar and sea urchin. The dessert was a chocolate mousse with vanilla ice cream. Each dish was savored and enjoyed, making it a memorable dining experience. I look forward to revisiting this fantastic restaurant in the future!
