On this day, I visited a Russian restaurant called "Bona Festa" in Asakusa. It is actually located in the competitive area of Russian cuisine in Asakusa. Since 1988, this restaurant has been one of the oldest Russian restaurants in Japan. I was attracted by the beautiful appearance of the stuffed cabbage rolls and had always wanted to visit this restaurant. I made a reservation for dinner and visited the restaurant. [Course Menu] - Pickles - Scallop Fritters - Seafood and Vegetable Salad - Piroshki - Tomato Soup - Stuffed Cabbage Rolls - Coffee *Pickles Colorful pickles that are refreshing and perfect for starting the meal. *Scallop Fritters Fritters made with scallops that have a gentle flavor and a light crispy coating. *Seafood and Vegetable Salad A salad with plenty of shrimp, squid, salmon, and other seafood. The seafood is large and satisfying to eat. *Piroshki A soft and fluffy piroshki with a delicious sauce inside. I could eat this all day. *Tomato Soup Warm tomato soup served in a pot with tomatoes, chunky vegetables, and beef. It seemed to be baked in the oven and was piping hot. The rich flavors of the meat and vegetables make it truly delicious. *Stuffed Cabbage Rolls The cabbage rolls are simmered for 8 hours. They are incredibly tender and easily fall apart with just a fork. The filling is packed with minced meat, but thanks to the long cooking time, you can enjoy a fluffy and soft texture. It is topped with a sauce made of tomatoes and sour cream, which pairs perfectly with the cabbage and meat. *Coffee A traditional Russian way of drinking coffee. Warm coffee topped with whipped cream and served with a pomegranate-flavored sugar on the cup lid. It's like a cocktail, with a sweet and warm taste that embodies the kindness of Russian cuisine. It's a wonderful restaurant that you would want to visit on special occasions. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Two days before the visit, I contacted them but they were closed on Wednesdays and Thursdays. They called me back on Friday morning and I appreciated their kindness. They only offer course meals, so you choose your dishes after arriving. Every dish was delicious and I couldn't pick a favorite. The timing of the dishes was perfect, allowing me to enjoy each one. I also ordered additional dishes, shrimp potato rolls and Russian-style dumplings, which were both incredibly tasty. The wine selection was great and paired well with the food. Even though dessert wasn't included in the course, I recommend trying their homemade pudding. Overall, whether you like Russian cuisine or not, I highly recommend visiting this restaurant at least once. It's not cheap, but the food is worth every penny.

I visited for lunch on a regular day. I was expecting a casual restaurant in the downtown area, so I was a bit surprised by the calm atmosphere. I chose the cream soup and cabbage roll set for 3,500 yen. I could also choose Rooibos tea for a drink after the meal. The mini salad was small but packed with ingredients like ham. I was torn between borscht and cream soup, but I chose the cream soup because it came with a pie crust. It was a great choice! Inside, there were plenty of scallops and mushrooms. The pie crust was buttery and crispy, and the soup was rich. The main cabbage roll was tender and soft enough to cut smoothly with a knife. It had a slight sourness, and it seemed like it also used a lot of butter and cream. The mashed potatoes on the side were also rich and delicious. For dessert, I had a bittersweet caramel pudding. Overall, including the service, it was worth the price. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this restaurant on the same day reservation. I had always wanted to try it. It's a famous Russian cuisine restaurant. Despite the weekend typhoon, I was able to enter with a same-day reservation. From the moment I entered, the lovely and kind madam made me feel at ease. I'm not familiar with Russian cuisine, so I was a little nervous. Looking at the menu, is it Russian cuisine? No, it's French. Well, either is fine. You can choose from various options on the course menu. It's a great system. For someone like me who has many dislikes, being able to choose is very helpful. But then the desire to try everything kicked in since there were four of us, let's share a little bit. *Pickles *Smelt Fritters *Raw and Cooked Ham *Cream Soup with Uni and Egg *Prawn (extra order) *Pirozhki *Soft Hamburger *Caramel Ice Cream *Coffee *Iced Rooibos Tea x2 From start to finish, everything was delicious and I was completely satisfied. I also tried a few things that weren't listed, but everything was so delicious that I'm sure I'll have a hard time deciding next time. I chose the Soft Hamburger as my main dish, and it was so tender that it felt like it would fall apart, but the surface was firm, and when I put it in my mouth, the tenderness, meat juices, and sauce were all so delicious that it became addictive. Another addictive dish was the Pirozhki. It was so fluffy and soft with a delicious filling inside. I wanted to order 5 more, but I couldn't finish them all, so I had to give up. Next time, I want to have 2 more. The course meal also filled me up, so I'll have to take out next time. The cost performance is good, and the service is friendly and reassuring. I'm looking forward to coming back to this delightful restaurant.

Asakusa is a dining place that has been developed during the coronavirus pandemic. Among them, the unique photo of cabbage rolls at this Russian restaurant caught my attention. When it comes to Russia, the image of Russia has been tarnished due to the war with Ukraine, so someone please do something about Putin! Let's get back to talking about the restaurant. First, the service. The response on the phone was very pleasant. In terms of lunch prices, the volume and taste of the food offered were cost-effective. The piroshki was chewy and delicious. The main dish, cabbage rolls, had no cabbage-like smell, were large, and the meat was delicious. And most of all, the stroganoff. This was so tasty. I'm not a fan of pickles, so if they could reduce the number of appetizers to about three, it would be perfect. Now, let's dig in!

-Coke, Ginger Ale, Course Meal -Details: -Homemade pickles -Smelt fritters -Assorted homemade ham of Japanese pork -Pirozhki -Tomato-flavored borscht soup -Russian-style cabbage rolls in a rich stew -Visit Time: Around 6:00 PM on a public holiday -Crowdedness: No wait -Reservation: Reservation required (phone reservation on the day) -Number of Visitors: 3 people -Tabelog Score: 3.75 (May 2023) -Genre: Russian cuisine -Remarks: I didn't know cabbage rolls could be this delicious. The filling is a layer of meat and cabbage, so tender that it seems like it could easily be cut without a knife. Even though I had never eaten it before, the seasoning felt familiar. Apart from the cabbage rolls, the other dishes have a unique foreign cuisine smell or aftertaste that might bother some people. However, the cabbage rolls didn't have that. Even though I was already full after eating the pirozhki, the cabbage rolls have a substantial portion, so it was very satisfying.

I visited the restaurant alone. The restaurant offers more Western-style Russian cuisine rather than French-style. The atmosphere is homey and cozy, and the warm hospitality was very enjoyable. Every dish was meticulously prepared and had a nostalgic taste. It was really delicious (^ー^) I ended up adding quite a few extra orders, so the total cost came to around ten thousand yen, but the basic dinner course is in the six thousand yen range per person. To be able to enjoy such taste and service for that price is truly impressive. I hope this restaurant will continue to thrive for a long time to come, even as times change. Items ordered included homemade pickles, fried tomorrow leaves and bamboo shoots, a platter of homemade ham and roast ham with rice cake pork, pierogi, Russian-style dumplings Pelmeni (extra), pot-baked cream soup, beef fillet Stroganoff, jumbo mushroom bomb (extra), baked custard pudding (extra), tea + jam drink, a glass of white wine (extra), and a non-alcoholic cocktail (extra).

Visit time: around 6:00 pm on holidays Menu: - Homemade pickles amuse-bouche - Smelt fritter hors d'oeuvre - Assorted seafood and vegetable salad - Tomato-flavored borscht soup Main dish: Russian-style cabbage rolls with pilaf Coffee Price: 6500 yen for the course (including tax) 7500 yen if you upgrade the main dish to jumbo mushroom sauté Additional: Russian-style dumplings pelmeni for 1000 yen Homemade pudding for 450 yen I had known about this French-style Russian restaurant for over 5 years and always wanted to try it. I pondered on what made it French-style as I enjoyed the meal, and I assumed it might be the use of sauces. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was cozy and elegant. Each dish was meticulously prepared and delicious. As you can see in the photos, the portions were generous. The dishes that stood out were those made with tomatoes and minced meat, as the tanginess of the tomatoes whetted the appetite, and the combination of meaty flavors and fluffy texture was delightful. The most surprising part was the coffee! It was served with whipped cream on top and the rim of the glass was decorated with sugar. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

Today, we will talk about additional charges in course meals. Here are some examples of prefix course meals commonly seen in Italian and French cuisine: - Appetizer: Marinated fresh fish Foie gras terrine (+1000 yen) - Meat dish: Grilled yamayuri pork with seasonal vegetables and beef fillet red wine sauce (+1500 yen) A prefix is a menu structure where customers can choose their favorite dishes from multiple options. It allows for upgrading to more expensive ingredients in course meals. This type of prefix can be quite challenging and can leave many gourmets in a dilemma. There are dishes where paying an extra 2000 yen may not seem worth it. In Asakusa, there is a popular Russian cuisine restaurant with the following highlights: 1. Cabbage rolls: A perennial favorite, a must-try for first-timers. 2. Cream soup with scallops and mushrooms: A regular menu item with no additional charge, rich and flavorful. 3. Grilled uni and egg soup: A specialty dish with an additional charge of 600 yen. The decision to pay extra for this soup may vary among individuals, as the regular cream soup is already satisfying. However, the grilled uni and egg soup is rich and flavorful, making it a worthwhile choice for many customers. In conclusion, the 600 yen additional charge for the uni and egg soup at this restaurant is reasonable and likely to satisfy many customers.

I have eaten pierogi and beef stroganoff before, but this was my first time eating them at a restaurant. I was so impressed by how delicious everything was. The beef stroganoff had tender steak pieces in a slightly tangy and very smooth and creamy sauce. The pierogi, unlike the curry bun-like ones I had before, had a perfect thickness of dough that was fluffy, and the filling of minced meat and vegetables in a tangy tomato sauce was delightful. Every dish exceeded my expectations and was incredibly delicious. Even the jam served with the tea was recommended by the staff, and indeed, it paired well with the tea. The set menu had different prices for mains, but I would love to try everything at this delicious restaurant.

In Asakusa, there are many Russian restaurants, but the top one is our restaurant, Bona Festa. Our menu is mostly unchanged because each dish is so popular that we can't change it. The chef tirelessly makes the same dishes, showcasing impressive skills. The most popular dish is the classic cabbage roll, which is delicious. Another must-try is the scallop with sea urchin sauce, a hidden gem behind the cabbage roll. The cooking is perfect, and the rich sea urchin sauce is delicious. Lastly, everyone loves the Plombir a la mode.

Asakusa Manos, a Russian restaurant in Asakusa known for its small size with only 4 seats available. The seating arrangement is comfortable with a refined atmosphere, making it seem like they can only accommodate 6 groups at a time, so reservations are necessary. Purchased items (tax included): - Lunch (3,400 yen) - Chef's choice mini salad: Lightly dressed with vinegar, featuring squid and flying fish roe. - Cream soup with puff pastry: A flavorful soup with a light texture, filled with scallops and cheese. - Russian-style tender hamburger: A crispy exterior with a soft and melty interior, unique in texture and taste. - Homemade pudding: Smooth and creamy texture with a good balance, although the caramel flavor could be stronger. - Black tea Overall, the restaurant offers a homely and relaxing atmosphere with good service. It is a nice change from high-end establishments, and I would love to revisit for their cream soup, which I particularly enjoyed.

I visited a long-established Russian restaurant in Asakusa. I had the 4,500 yen lunch course, which included pickles, salad, piroshki, soup, main dish, and dessert. The soup was baked cream soup and the main dish was Big Mushroom (seasonal). The flavors were gentle and delicious, and I was impressed. Especially the baked cream soup was warm and comforting, perfect for the cold weather. I thought the menu was cheap for 4,500 yen. I would like to visit again.

Usage situation: Around 12 o'clock on weekdays, used by two people without reservation Shop information: A few minutes' walk from Asakusa Station. It is a small shop with not many seats. Despite being a weekday lunchtime, it was almost always full. Ordered items: Some dishes were either sold out or not available today, so there were limited choices. Ordered safe options of cabbage rolls and borscht. Cabbage rolls were quite soft and sweet, completely different from the typical cabbage rolls. The sauce was a tomato-based cream sauce, giving it a taste similar to hamburger. The borscht also had a strong tomato flavor. Overall review: It has been a while since writing this, so I don't remember much, but it was a nice and clean Russian restaurant. It didn't offer the typical Russian dishes, but rather some creatively prepared Russian dishes. It is a good place to go when you want to try something different from the traditional Russian cuisine.

The first proper Russian meal I had in Tokyo was at "Bonafesta". I called the restaurant, but they were closed on the day I called, so they called me back the next day. The location is about a 7-minute walk from Kuramae. The restaurant has a quaint, old-fashioned feel, with only a few tables. The menu is a set course for 6000 yen per person, with the choice of A or B for the main dish. The menu was a bit confusing, but we ended up choosing A and B. The meal included various appetizers, soups, and main dishes such as Russian-style cabbage stew and soft hamburg steak. The food was delicious, especially the borscht soup and the cream soup with mushrooms and seafood. The dessert was not included in the course, but we were too full to order it. Overall, we enjoyed the meal, and the total cost for two people was around 13000 yen.

I finally went to a restaurant I've always wanted to visit. I tried their lunch menu. The appetizer (pickles), salad, piroshki, and borscht all had delicious and gentle flavors. The beef stroganoff with tender beef was exquisite. The dessert of pudding and Russian coffee were also satisfying. It was a truly fulfilling Russian lunch. I wish I had gone sooner.

I went to the restaurant for lunch on a holiday without a reservation. The lunch was only available as a set course, with a choice of soup and main dish. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was very calming, and the staff were very friendly. The lunch course included: Pickles (appetizer), Salad, Piroshki, Soup (choice of Borscht this time), Main dish (choice of Stroganoff this time), Dessert, Coffee or Tea. To be honest... everything was delicious! The Piroshki was freshly fried and I could eat as many as I wanted. The Borscht soup was gently flavored with the richness of meat and vegetables and a hint of acidity. The meat in the Stroganoff was tender and tasted great with the sauce. Everything was carefully prepared and had a very gentle flavor overall. Russian cuisine is so delicious! I want to go back again!!!

I visited the Russian restaurant Bona Festa. For some reason, there are many Russian restaurants around Asakusa, right? It was my first time trying a Russian course meal, and I thought the quality was very high. The highlight was definitely their specialty, Russian-style cabbage rolls, which were delicious! The classic dishes like borscht and piroshki were also exceptionally tasty at this restaurant. The price for this course was very reasonable considering the quality. Thank you for the meal. Menu: - Pickled cucumber - Deep-fried small fish - Assorted seafood and vegetables salad - Piroshki - Tomato-flavored borscht soup - Russian-style cabbage rolls in a rich sauce - Russian-style coffee
