I always wanted to go to this famous Keyma curry restaurant! I thought it would be difficult to access from Kitasando, but when I looked it up, I found out that you can also get there from Harajuku. After walking a bit and seeing fewer shops around, I started to worry if I was in the right place, but then I spotted it. I went there on a Friday night around 7:30 PM. The exterior exudes a stylish atmosphere. As soon as you open the door, you see a counter with lots of bottles of alcohol. Further inside, there are CDs stacked up, books displayed, and paintings on the walls. The slightly dim lighting creates a relaxed atmosphere where time seems to flow slowly. It's really nice. When I arrived, there were only about two groups of people inside, and there were plenty of seats available. Maybe because it was a rainy day. I was guided to a seat at the back. They operate on a one drink order system at night, so I ordered a Dewar's soda mix. My friend ordered a pomegranate lassi. There are five different types of lassi, so that was also intriguing. Now, what curry should I choose? I was torn, but since the cheese keema curry is recommended at this restaurant, I decided to go for the half cheese keema curry (¥1,280) this time. They have sizes SML, and they recommend S for women and M for men, so I ordered the S size. (The size not only affects the rice but also the curry sauce. It's nice to have this kind of consideration.) The dish arrived. It's a keema curry base with half of it covered in white cheese. The egg yolk in the center, along with the cheese, makes it visually perfect and beautiful! I had seen it in photos, but seeing it in person got me excited! I started by breaking the yolk in the center and then tried to scoop from the cheese-covered side with a spoon...hmm. The layer of cheese is thicker than I thought. Even when I scooped it, it stretched endlessly and was hard to cut. I had to use the spare spoon to handle the stretchy cheese, but I managed to cut it. Let's dig in. The curry is slightly spicy. As I progressed through the meal, the spiciness spread, but thanks to the generous amount of cheese and egg yolk, it was well balanced. The cheese was even chewier than I imagined. Yes, it's delicious! By the second bite, I could eat it with just a spoon normally. Before I knew it, I had finished it cleanly. Even though it was an S size, it was quite satisfying. You can change the cheese to cheddar and there are also several toppings, so next time I might try something adventurous. I was also curious about the unique lassi, so I'd like to try that next time. Please note that they do not accept credit cards for payment. (Cash and PayPay are accepted.) Not only the taste but also the relaxed atmosphere of the restaurant made me feel comfortable and I really liked it. I want to come back again! Thank you for the meal.
