Before 9:00 PM, all the cakes were already sold out. It seems that for the past few years, sweets have been selling out by the evening. The chiffon cake and cheesecake were delicious, but it seems difficult to continue my dessert visits after meals.

I went on a weekday afternoon and found that the slightly pricey café was full. I had to wait a bit before being able to enter when a seat opened up. I wanted to sit at the counter, but ended up at a table. It wasn't too hot that day, so I ordered a café au lait. It was like hot coffee with delicious hot milk poured in, creating a rich and tasty café au lait.

This is a famous café in Shibuya. Personally, I find Shibuya a bit overwhelming due to the crowds, so I decided to visit on a weekday when I had some time off. It was only a few minutes' walk from the B4 exit, so it might have been okay to visit on a weekend too (laughs). ★Time of entry: A little after 2 pm on a weekday, there were 4 people waiting in front of the store. Since I was alone, I was able to go in ahead of them and sit at the counter. ★What I ordered this time: Iced Café au Lait 950 yen Croque-monsieur 800 yen It seems like the café is celebrating its 34th year this year. Congratulations. I really liked the atmosphere of the café. It had a calm vibe. There were both counter and table seats, and there were quite a few seats considering its location in Shibuya. There were also quite a few counter seats. I ordered the Croque-monsieur, and the dish it came on was stylish, and even the fork was unique in a good way (laughs). The master (I think) was silently but swiftly brewing coffee, which was pretty cool to watch. I tried not to stare too much (laughs). The Café au Lait had a mature taste with a strong coffee bitterness. It was really delicious. Shibuya's cafés are quite nice, aren't they? Thank you for the meal~

I visited "Satei Hatou" located in Shibuya Station. I ordered the black honey pudding for 600 yen and the iced coffee for 900 yen. The limited-time black honey pudding was incredibly delicious! When I asked the master until when I can eat it, he said "around the equinoctial week." When I looked it up, I found out it's available until late September. The coffee was delicious, the atmosphere was great, and it's a coffee shop I want to visit over and over again. Thank you for the meal.

Guatemala ¥900
Pumpkin pudding ¥600
Smooth and slightly grainy texture pumpkin pudding with a gentle sweetness that is easy to eat. The caramel is slightly bitter and not too heavy, while the whipped cream is not too sweet and delicious. It has a good portion size, but the sweetness is mild so you can easily finish it in one go.

I visited around 1 pm and waited for about 3 groups before being seated. The interior was surprisingly spacious, and I was seated after about 20 minutes. I couldn't decide between chiffon cake and hojicha pudding, but I ordered the hojicha pudding. It was delicious! I was seated at the counter, so I didn't stay long. When I left, there was a line outside the store.

Located 2-3 minutes from the Hachiko exit of Shibuya Station, there is a café called "Hatou." This longstanding establishment, founded in 1989, is popular during the day but also offers a night café experience, closing at 11 pm with last orders at 10 pm. Despite having around 50 seats, it can be difficult to get in on weekends. I once tried waiting in line outside but gave up after 20 minutes of no progress. However, on a weekday evening around 8 pm, I was able to get in right away. The place was still about 70% full, with groups of 2-4 people being common. The original blend coffee (¥900) was delicious, served in stylish cups. The café has a retro, traditional Japanese atmosphere and a spacious interior with counter and table seating. The staff, including two older male servers in shirt and tie and three young female staff members, created a lively yet cozy atmosphere. Despite the slight noise from customers, it was a pleasant experience and I look forward to visiting again.

Just a 3-minute walk from JR Shibuya Station, "Chatei Hatou" is a coffee shop established in September 1989. They serve delicious drip coffee and sweets, prepared with care. When I visited on a weekend evening, there was a line both inside and outside the shop, with many foreign tourists as well. It had been over 20 years since I last visited, but it's still a popular spot. After a 20-minute wait, I finally entered the shop. In the past, I would always order blends without really tasting the coffee, but this time I tried the au lait glace. It's a drink with a layer of light coffee on top of plenty of milk. I was instructed to drink it without stirring, so I slowly enjoyed the combination of the coffee's bitterness and the milk's sweetness. As other reviewers have mentioned, this is truly an adult cafe au lait. The slight sweetness is a nice touch. I was tempted to order the chiffon cake that I saw being made in front of me, but I resisted since I had a dinner appointment later. Next time, I'll relax with a slice of chiffon cake and a warm coffee. Thank you for the meal!

This is my first time posting about this cafe, but I have been visiting for over 10 years. Whenever I go, I can enjoy the aroma of real coffee. The unique atmosphere of a coffee shop is still alive and well. I went to Shibuya for a meeting after a long time. Compared to before, there are more tourists now. I happened to hear less Japanese today. I had a blend. I didn't eat too much, and I didn't feel bloated, but I still ordered a coffee fresh. The thick coffee cup fits comfortably in my hand and keeps the coffee at the right temperature. It's different from fast coffee. It's not the coffee you drink during work, but the coffee you come to enjoy. Thank you for the meal.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. There was no wait, but the inside of the restaurant was almost full. By 3:00 PM, there was a line forming outside. I ordered the blend coffee, which had a strong bitterness and a good aroma. The interior was nice and very calming. However, it was crowded and lively on the weekends. If you want to relax, it might be better to go on a weekday or early on the weekends.

We visited the restaurant with two people after 5 p.m. When we arrived, there was one group waiting, but the turnover rate was surprisingly fast, so we only had to wait for about 5 minutes before being seated. This time, we tried the black sugar chiffon cake and Earl Grey iced tea, both of which were excellent choices. We were able to choose from two types of tea leaves for the iced tea. I might prefer the black sugar chiffon cake over the matcha one I had before. I always wanted to try the tea chiffon cake, but it's always sold out.

I stopped by Shibuya Hikarie Hall on my way back from the photo exhibition of Shigeo Imazumi and Saul Leiter. It was stated that photography was prohibited, so I do not have any photos. I had an iced coffee chiffon cake. I actually wanted to choose the hot and straight course to drink, but I chose the iced one due to the heat and fatigue. However, I was satisfied with the iced coffee. Bitterness is the best for the heat, and the chiffon cake was also fluffy.

In 2022, there is a cozy café called "Satei Hatou" located a short walk from Shibuya Station Hikarie, off the 305 line towards Harajuku. Despite its narrow entrance, the café is surprisingly crowded inside. The interior is long and narrow, with a unique atmosphere and a high concentration of foreigners. One of its main features is the pigeon figurines scattered around the café. There are also many replica Gallé lamps and Royal Copenhagen plates on display. The Vienna coffee (iced) priced at 1000 yen is rich and not too bitter, with a hint of sweetness from the syrup mixed in. It's perfect for those who don't like black coffee. I also tried the Dominican Barahona AA coffee priced at 950 yen, which had a light acidity and a subtle flavor due to the lighter roast. The unique aftertaste was impressive, even when adding sugar and milk. It makes you wonder if it's the result of the Nel drip technique.

It was a retro and cozy cafe. The interior was not allowed to be photographed, so I only have a picture of the exterior. I ordered the original blend coffee for 900 yen and maple chiffon cake for 600 yen. The coffee was brewed right in front of me, showing their dedication to quality. It was very delicious.

Visited around 3 PM on a holiday. Had previously given up on visiting due to the long line extending outside the store. Today, there was no line outside, so I decided to visit on a whim. There were about 5-6 people waiting inside. After waiting for over 10 minutes while sitting, we were finally seated. The atmosphere inside the store was lovely, with plants, lighting, old books, and beautiful pottery decorations.
- Hatoato Blend (¥900): The acidity was quite strong, not really my preference for blends.
- Cafe au Lait (¥1,000): The balance between the strong coffee and sweet milk layers was really beautiful.

Shopping in a bustling street. Along the way, I feel like relaxing at a cafe or coffee shop. However, the places I had in mind always end up having long lines, leaving me as a cafe refugee. In the end, I often end up taking a break at Dotour or Doutor Coffee. In Shibuya, I found a place just slightly off the main area where, although there was a line, I was seated within a few minutes. The atmosphere inside is retro, and the staff gives off a vibe of beautiful women from the Taisho era, perhaps due to their uniforms. Various coffee cups and plates are displayed inside the shop. I tried their blend, looking forward to which cup it would be served in. I also had a banana chiffon cake. The chocolate coating on the outside is quite assertive. I enjoyed the banana flavor first, then paired it with the chocolate. I found a place to relax in Shibuya. Thank you very much. Itadakimasu!

I visited Hatomi-san after about 6 years, located behind Miyamasaka. There were rumors of long lines every day, but today I was able to get in right away without waiting. The atmosphere of the restaurant seemed unchanged, except for the large table with acrylic partitions still in place. Since I was alone, I sat at the counter and was planning to order the original blend, but the heat made me change my mind, so I ordered an iced latte and banana chiffon cake instead. The homemade chiffon cake was really, really delicious, moist and with a good bounce, and the flavor was great. The iced latte was also beautiful. With the changing times, it is natural for regional characteristics and customers to undergo various changes, so I felt some changes at Hatomi-san after coming back after 6 years, but I definitely want to come back again. It was a good mood changer. Thank you for the meal.

My favorite cafe in Shibuya. When you enter through the entrance with a nice atmosphere and go to the back, there is a counter on the right side, and behind the counter, there are many teacups! The interior of the cafe is very charming. This time, I ordered chiffon cake and hot tea! The tea was Lapsang Souchong!!! It was very delicious. Thank you for the meal!

I visited the restaurant between morning curry and lunch curry. I had the Blend and Kabocha pudding, and the coffee was delicious so I had a refill. I was able to order quickly, but when I left, there was a line. The restaurant has an antique feel and is very calming. Thank you for the meal. Also, it is non-smoking but there is a smoking area available.
