I finished my usual Obon holiday trip and headed towards Aomori from the company's apartment in Koedenmachi by taxi to Central Street, near the company, where Mandarin Oriental Tokyo is located. When I used to work in regional offices, I often stayed at various hotels when visiting the head office, but since returning to the head office, I have been living in company housing and have had fewer opportunities to stay in Tokyo. I have visited this hotel for lunch or breakfast. Before heading to Aomori this time, I had breakfast at K'shiki on the 38th floor lobby floor, reached via the stylish elevator hall. I was promptly seated by the staff. The weather was nice, and the large windows offered a great view. The restaurant had a decent number of guests, mostly foreigners, giving a glimpse of the recovery of inbound tourism. Breakfast choices included a buffet, American breakfast, and Japanese breakfast, priced at 6,300 yen for adults, including service charge, or around 7,000 yen for the American breakfast. After some consideration, I decided on the American breakfast. We started with a glass of champagne, and then I chose Eggs Benedict while my wife chose French toast. We also had a selection of juices, and while waiting, we were served with salad, yogurt, fruits, croissants, and Danish pastries. The Eggs Benedict had crab and avocado with plenty of hollandaise sauce, and when I cut into it, the poached egg yolk oozed out perfectly. It was accompanied by vegetables and bacon, providing a satisfying portion. My wife's French toast was moist and flavorful with a strong cinnamon taste, served with maple syrup and cream. The dining area on the high floor allowed us to enjoy the view outside the window, and the service was impeccable, making it a relaxing place to enjoy a leisurely breakfast. We had a delicious meal. Thank you for the meal.
