Tokyo Gourmet Exploration! Shibuya Ward, Okushibuya Edition Exploring the world through creative sushi in a private room at a bar, "Bell Sushi," a popular restaurant with a buzz, finally visited! On a pleasant late autumn day, under clear skies, it's the perfect time to stretch your legs a bit and join a sushi off-meeting with gourmet friends at a new and promising creative sushi restaurant in Okushibuya for dinner! From Shibuya Station, passing by the famous tonkatsu restaurant "Mizuto," and turning right into a side street, you'll find a stylish bar produced by the internationally renowned "The SG Group" called "The Bellwood." Inside the bar, hidden in the back, is a private room with only four seats, a four-person limited creative sushi restaurant that opened in 2021! Ayaka Terai, the proprietress, takes you on a journey through the world of creative sushi, allowing you to experience flavors from around the world. The first visit to "Bell Sushi" was highly anticipated! Meeting at 6:00 pm! With our usual sushi-loving group, we enjoyed the exclusive course for four people at ¥10,000 per person! The course includes 12 pieces of creative sushi paired with three cocktails! 1. Italy: Yellowtail carpaccio with tomato, capers, garlic, olive oil, and Grana Padano cheese. The yellowtail is moist and flavorful with an Italian twist of olive oil and cheese. 2. Vietnam: Tuna with coriander, mint, rice cracker, and fish sauce. A flavorful and delicious Vietnamese-style tuna dish. 3. Morocco: Marinated mackerel with Basara sauce, turmeric powder, and a hummus-like sauce. A delicious Mediterranean-inspired dish. 4. India: Needlefish with pineapple raita, black garlic, and pickled ginger cocktail. A flavorful Indian-inspired dish with spices. 5. Mexican: Amberjack tacos with dashi jalapeno and guacamole. The taco flavor is rich and delicious. 6. Peru: Needlefish ceviche with coconut sauce. A moist and marinated needlefish dish with a delightful flavor. 7. Norway: Horse mackerel pickled in vinegar with spruce flavor and Saikyo miso. A well-aged and delicious dish. 8. Denmark: Rockfish with dill seed, black grapes, and Scandinavian-aged flavor. A perfectly aged and flavorful dish. 9. Conger eel with Brazilian coffee and cacao nib sauce. A tender and flavorful dish with a coffee aroma. 10. France: Fatty tuna with vegan foie gras sauce, mashed potatoes, and cashew nuts. An outstanding dish with a rich flavor. 11. Spain: Triple egg battleship sushi with egg yolk, sea urchin, salmon roe, and Eneco-style fondue with truffle. Three different tastes combined at the end for an amazing flavor. 12. Dessert sushi: Chinese fig with cassis black sugar sauce, gold powder, almond, and rice pudding. The fig dessert has a sweet and almond aroma that is delightful. These dishes are more than just sushi – they are creative dishes that use flavors from around the world! The meticulous work and unique flavors of world cuisine make for an enjoyable and delicious sushi experience!

I went to Belwood for a meeting after a long time. The restaurant was full of foreign tourists. The gin and tonic here is delicious, so I ordered two glasses again this time. The tea cocktails also had a taste and aroma that women would enjoy. The menu is unique, so it's not easy to understand at first glance, but the staff will explain each item carefully.

I've never had sushi like this before - a hidden gem sushi course at a secret bar in the backstreets of Shibuya, Bellwood in Shibuya. I couldn't fit it all in one post so I'll do a part 2 as well. I had creative sushi at this bar in the backstreets. They serve a limited-time creative sushi course called "Bell Sushi." The bar counter has a semi-private space for 4 people at the back, and the landlady, Ms. Terai, kindly and joyfully explained about the bar and creative sushi. It was so much fun and before I knew it, I had 12 pieces of sushi and time flew by. The menu includes the Dekoboko Cocktail, the Gari Cocktail, and the content of the creative sushi changes so I won't go into detail (it was so delicious that I couldn't remember). Each piece has a solid concept, and when it comes out, you think this combination is delicious, but this is delicious!! It feels like you're traveling the world! I was surprised that they combined ingredients and spices from various countries into sushi. Even though we're almost the same age, I really respect their creativity. When I asked how they make it, they said they just keep eating and keep making it, over and over. It seems to be a limited-time offer until March, so I want to go back again!! If you go, please say hi to Ms. Terai @terai_nstagram! Open-Close: 18:00-2:00 (bar) 18:00-19:30-21:00 (Bell Sushi). Located at 41-31 Udagawacho, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. Tel: 03-6452-5077. Access: 9 minutes walk from Shibuya Station. Reservation required @the_bellwood.

There was a modern bar with a great atmosphere, offering unique cocktails with fun names to choose from, priced around 1700-2000 yen. I tried the Mountain Highball, which was a bit smoky and not to my taste. My friend ordered a Gin and Tonic, which was delicious. The bar had a lively vibe with many foreigners around. In the back, there is a modern sushi bar where young female chefs serve a limited number of guests. The drinks were a bit slow to arrive and a bit pricey, but the originality and atmosphere made me want to come back again.

A bar located in the so-called Okushibu area of Shibuya. The name "Bellwood" means "Suzuki" in Japanese, named after the owner, Mr. Suzuki. The bar exudes a stylish and moody atmosphere, yet maintains a friendly and relaxed vibe. Cocktails range from 1500 to 2000 yen. The menu reflects the care put into the preparation, with complex combinations of ingredients for each cocktail. If you tell the bartender your preferences, they will recommend a drink for you. It's the best bar. Thank you for the meal.

At first glance, it has a distinctly European atmosphere, but the more you look inside the shop, the more you can see Japanese charm, making it incredibly cozy. If I didn't have plans, I would have stayed longer. I'm not good with alcohol, so even a little strong drink makes me hesitate or think "I'll just have one and some water." But at this place, I was so impressed with how delicious it was and that I didn't get drunk. The staff were friendly and easy to talk to, and the service was polite and pleasant. There were many foreigners, which reminded me of my time living abroad and made me happy. A place that makes me want to visit every time I return to Tokyo.

At 17:00, I visited for the first time in 3 rotations, limited to 4 seats per round, offering only one course tailored to your dislikes, providing sushi and cocktails. Sushi and cocktails that can only be experienced here, in a Meiji-era high-class atmosphere, offering a unique sushi and cocktail experience. The creativity of the sushi, enjoyable atmosphere, and the chef's talk make for an evolving dining experience.

Exploring Shibuya bars with two friends. A bar located in a calm area in the depths of Shibuya. Affiliated with the famous SG Club in Shibuya, it naturally exudes sophistication and deliciousness. The exterior, interior, bartenders, and staff dressed in traditional Japanese attire somehow evoke the atmosphere of the Taisho era. As a side note, the name "The Bellwood" is said to be taken from the owner, Mr. Suzuki. Now, onto the cocktail menu - with options like Mogas black tea, Plant Gang, Grilled Corn Bloody Mary, Royal Melon Cream Soda, it was difficult to choose, so we decided to share with everyone. Particularly impressive was the Grilled Corn Bloody Mary, a rich cocktail that tasted like drinking corn soup. Additionally, the Royal Melon Cream Soda, a luxurious cocktail with a strong melon flavor that made us feel like we were drinking something fit for a king from the past. The sophisticated exterior and interior exude a sense of the Taisho era. The cocktails are unique and stylish. As it is a proper bar, the prices are on the higher side, but it is a wonderful place to visit with someone special and have a great time. Although we didn't try it this time, we heard that you can enjoy sushi and drinks in a semi-private room, so we definitely want to visit again next time. Recommended for different situations: Date with a girl - ☆☆☆ Hanging out with friends - ☆

The completely replacement system, from 19:30 to 21:00, limited to a maximum of 4 people, offers a special sushi experience. The 12 pieces of sushi each have a theme from a country outside of Japan, allowing you to feel like you are traveling the world while enjoying sushi. The set includes 3 cocktail pairings. (Added 2 additional drinks of rice shochu soda)

Located in Oshibi, "The Bellwood". Next to it is "Sushi Aizawa" where I often go. The concept of the restaurant is a "specialty café". The dimly lit interior with a cozy atmosphere, the lighting also contributes to the ambiance. It is a bar, café, and dining place all in one. The owner was a bartender for "The SG Club" group in Shanghai, where he won a cocktail world competition. The restaurant was opened with the idea of providing a wide range of offerings, including not only alcohol but also carefully selected dishes and coffee throughout the day. In addition to typical café food, they also offer creative sushi and other interesting menu items. When you open the menu, you will find cocktails with unique names. It is a versatile place that can be used for a second round or for light meals. Thank you for the meal.

"The Bellwood" is a bar located in the so-called "Okushibu" area near Yoyogi in Shibuya. It is affiliated with the well-known bar industry "The SG Club" and offers famous dishes like "Bel Sushi" that can be reserved through Instagram. At Bel Sushi, you can find unique combinations of ingredients not typically seen in traditional Edo-style sushi, paired with interesting cocktails. They also serve ramen after 11 pm, and during this season, you can enjoy a dish inspired by cold Chinese noodles. The atmosphere feels like being abroad, and you can enjoy delicious drinks and dishes that complement them until late at night."

Visited on a Saturday night. Made a reservation via Instagram about 1.5 months ago. Three time slots available: 18:00, 19:30, 21:00. Sushi set of 12 pieces with 3 pairing cocktails for 10,000 yen + tax. The highlight is the innovative combination of ingredients and the concept of each piece representing a different country. The presentation is enjoyable as the sushi is made in front of you. However, the quality of the fish is average, so it's best to focus on enjoying the pairing with the sauce. The menu changes every 1.5 months, so it completely rotates every 4 months. Highlights include the Italian nodoguro with tomato, capers, and cheese, the Vietnamese maguro with coriander, ginger, and fried tempura bits, and the Indian yogurt with black garlic. Not so great dishes include the Brazilian anago with coffee and cacao nib sauce, which lacked sweetness, and the Spanish ikura, uni, egg yolk, dashi, and truffle dish, which felt somewhat lacking in flavor. Also, on Saturdays, it can get crowded, so there was a 20-minute wait for drink service.

Located about a 10-minute walk from Shibuya Station, my friend took me to this place that serves very Instagrammable cocktails. We visited without a reservation around 11:30 PM on a weekday. The interior has a counter, and we were seated in front of the bartender at the counter this time. The bartender was a woman, which was refreshing. There were also two male staff members. The place was full, so we waited about 5 minutes before being seated. The atmosphere was calm and had an adult-like impression. We ordered a passion fruit-based cocktail this time. The bartender lit the passion fruit on fire to make the cocktail. This cocktail was not served to other customers, so I think this was a special presentation for this drink. The sparkling cocktail was a new sensation and fun, and the taste was fruity and easy to drink. The price was typical for a bar. As a bar in Shibuya, it is easy to enter and has a stylish atmosphere, making it suitable for dates or as a second stop.

It's a bar with a relaxed atmosphere. It's not trying too hard to be trendy, making it very easy to walk in and have a good time. The staff are sophisticated and their service is a pleasure to watch. The cocktails are based on coffee and tea with a unique twist that reflects the essence of the place. It's a great spot for a casual date night!

I was invited by a senior to go drinking, so I visited this place called Bellwood, which is a restaurant opened by Mr. Suzuki, the owner of The SG Club. They offer a unique sushi experience with 8 pieces of sushi and 2 cocktails for 5500 yen. The sushi is inspired by different countries like Vietnam, Turkey, Israel, Russia, Mexico, and Norway, using their traditional ingredients and flavors. The highlight was the fatty tuna and foie gras seaweed roll at the end. We also added 4 more pieces of sushi and another cocktail for a total of 12 pieces and 3 cocktails for 12000 yen. The extra sushi included deer meat with freeze-dried foie gras, eel, and a three-egg dish. The atmosphere, concept, and food were all meticulously crafted, and I was impressed by the creativity. The place gets busy after 11 pm, with mostly male customers enjoying the unique cocktails and sushi. Overall, it was a stimulating and enjoyable experience at this hidden gem in the city.

I experienced a fully reservation-only sushi course at The Bellwood, a well-known bar in The SG Cub series worldwide. The course is served in a semi-private 4-person table at the back of the bar and consists of creative sushi dishes prepared by a charming female sushi chef with experience in Kyoto's traditional cuisine. The pace of serving the sushi was excellent, accompanied by enjoyable conversations. There are two course options to choose from, and reservations can be made via direct message on the restaurant's Instagram. I made a reservation for the Modern course at 6 pm. The course includes 8 pieces of sushi and 2 cocktails. The cocktails, using SG Shochu, were a Yuzunomu cocktail in a teacup and a Gari cocktail with a ginger kick. The dishes included a Vietnamese-style tuna Banh Mi, Turkish-style flounder with Haydari sauce, Israeli-style pickled mackerel with Tahini sauce, Russian-style Borscht sushi with amberjack, Peruvian-style Sayori with purple olive sauce, Mexican-style red snapper with tortilla chips and jalapeno, Norwegian-style salmon with marinated onions and seared tomato, Kyoto-style medium fatty tuna roll with foie gras soy sauce and pickled radish. Each dish was inspired by a different country, offering a unique culinary experience. The quality of the sushi was impressive, especially the medium fatty tuna roll at the end. The price for this quality and quantity of food was quite reasonable. After the course, I also enjoyed cocktails and bar food at the adjacent bar. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience!

This is a restaurant I visited based on a friend's recommendation. It is part of the SG Club series, and the bar's concept and atmosphere were very nice. This time, I went to try the Bell Sushi (High Collar Course for 12,000 yen). There is a sushi corner right next to the bar, which is very interesting. A cheerful female chef greeted us and the course began. It comes with three cocktails, and the first one was served in a teacup, which was already fun. It was made with shochu. The sushi used various sauces and spices from around the world, such as ones resembling banh mi, Peruvian sauce, and borscht-style, all of which matched perfectly with the sushi. There were a total of 12 pieces, but the rice was smaller so it was just the right amount and not too filling, although it might be a bit lacking for men. One disappointing point was that the first cocktail was in a teacup, which was fine, but the rest were in sake cups or included in the sushi toppings, which made me wonder if they counted as cocktails. I was surprised because I expected proper-sized cocktails in glasses. The concept itself is very interesting, and I thought it might appeal to those who are tired of high-end sushi.

The atmosphere of "Bell Sushi," with four seats in a private room away from the sophisticated adult bar, was satisfying on its own. The room exuded a Western calmness mixed with traditional Japanese elements. The creative sushi, combining Japanese cuisine with ingredients from around the world, provided a unique and elegant taste experience. The selection of sake was also fresh and delightful.

Located in Oku-Shibuya, THE BELLWOOD is a modern cafe with a concept inspired by the Taisho era. It is not only open at night but also serves morning and lunch as a cafe/bar. Ranked 9th in ASIA'S 50 BEST BARS and awarded The Best Bar in Japan, it is the second domestic location of the SG Group following The SG Club. Champagne to toast and Martini with delicious olive, O-Le Martini with clear milk, homemade alcohol, and original cocktails make the menu exciting and overwhelming with choices. The interior combines Taisho modern and contemporary styles, and there is a private space with only 4 seats for pairing experiences. During my visit, there was a special sushi collaboration event, which seemed fun. I would like to participate in such events in the future. It was a fun time that passed by quickly. The interior was dimly lit, making it difficult to take good photos, and the exterior photos were also blurry.
