I feel like eating yakiniku once a month, and this time I decided to go to a restaurant that I had been wanting to visit for a long time. I had been checking it out for about 4 years, but the access from my home was a bit tricky, so... I had to go to the national designated important cultural property, the former Maeda family residence near Komada Higashi-Dai Station on a holiday, so I decided to extend my trip to Sanshuku! It's "Yakiniku Kenya" restaurant. Please check the location of the restaurant on Tabelog. Yakiniku Kenya is a yakiniku restaurant specializing in spices, where you can enjoy a slightly different experience from regular yakiniku. The restaurant is located in a renovated old folk house, with a standing bar on the first floor and table seating on the second floor. I carefully climbed the steep staircase typical of old folk houses to the second floor seats. The simple tables and chairs in the room, along with the rustic interior and movie posters on the walls, create a nice atmosphere. I checked the recommended menu on the whiteboard and ordered, starting the yakiniku party. I started with a beer and the appetizer was shredded cabbage with cumin dressing, which was simple but delicious. I enjoyed the homemade namul assortment with carrots, spinach, and wood ear mushrooms, which was a new experience for me. The hummus, a typical Middle Eastern appetizer made from chickpeas, was served with warm pita bread. The Tan Shita, a dish I was curious about after seeing it on a TV show, turned out to be simple but delicious. I enjoyed the New Year Galbi with a choice of salt, sauce, or pepper, and the pepper added a nice kick to the fatty cut of meat. The special Harami was thick and juicy, and the flavor of the Harami spread throughout my mouth. The lamb leg meat marinated in Tunisian spices was flavorful and enjoyable with the added spices. The mixed hormones with special spices were spicy and offered a variety of textures, making it a must-try for hormone lovers. However, the only disappointing thing was that the staff didn't provide much explanation about the meat when serving it. Finally, we ended the meal with South Indian-style chicken curry.
