Last year (2019), a DJ bar called "Asa made Yateru DJ Bar" opened, but as a middle-aged man in his 50s with no interest in DJs, I ignored it. However, when I heard that they started serving lunch, I decided to visit. They offer a daily special A lunch and a curry B lunch. The daily special was meatloaf, and the curry was a mix of keema and green curry. I ordered the B lunch, which was a combination of the two curries (tax included 1,000 yen). The lunch set included a salad and miso soup, which is common in restaurants in the Nakano area. The W curry came with multigrain rice and a side of onion achaar. The green curry had a sharp spiciness, which I enjoyed, while the keema curry was a bit lacking in flavor. Overall, it was decent for 850 yen, but for the current price of 1,000 yen, I expected a coffee to be included. As I was contemplating this, another customer arrived and asked, "What is meatloaf?" It was a difficult question to answer, as meatloaf is a fairly common dish. I would describe it as a kind of meat patty made with ground meat. However, the owner of the restaurant simply replied, "It's like a hamburger." I couldn't help but think that the menu could just say "hamburger-like dish" then.
