This day was a commemorative family dinner. My son turned twenty last month, so we decided to go out and have some drinks. Children grow up so fast. It feels like just yesterday he was born, just yesterday he started walking, just yesterday he started going to school. I always looked forward to the day when I could have a drink with my son, but it came so quickly. He chose to have eel for this special occasion. Quite a sophisticated choice. We made a reservation at "Unagi Toku" in Ginza Tokyu Plaza. It was my son, my wife, my daughter, and me - four of us. My son and I were the ones having drinks. The two women were eager to enjoy the eel to the fullest. When we arrived at the restaurant at the reserved time, we examined the menu. The family was ready to order the eel rice bowls right away, but I intervened. "Well, don't rush. At an eel restaurant, it's best to leisurely enjoy some appetizers with drinks first, and then finish with the eel rice bowl." We started our family feast with daikon and shirasu salad and eel rolls. I had a beer, and my son had white wine. It was nice. The white wine was a half bottle, equivalent to three glasses, for 1,622 yen. It was a Chardonnay grape variety that was easy to drink. We also ordered grilled eel, priced at 2,640 yen for a regular portion. We ordered liver skewers for the kids, priced at 880 yen per skewer. Luckily, we were able to order two skewers as they were often sold out. We continued to order various appetizers while waiting for the right moment to order the eel rice bowls. My son ordered the "special" one for 6,600 yen, my daughter ordered the "pine" one for 4,400 yen, and my wife and I each ordered the "regular" one for 2,970 yen. It was quite a lavish dinner. We also ordered red wine and recommended local sake in the excitement. The sight of four eel rice bowls lined up was magnificent. We thought it might be too much, but we all managed to finish them. The bill came to 34,586 yen. It was a wonderful celebration for my son's twentieth birthday. Tonight's feast was truly special. Thank you for the delicious meal!

During a break from work, I visited this restaurant for lunch for the first time. Even without a reservation, I was able to get in smoothly, but the restaurant was quite busy. There were many foreign tourists dining there as well. The spacious table seating allows for a relaxing dining experience. I was craving eel, so this time I ordered the Unaju (eel over rice) and O-Hitsu Unagi Chazuke (eel and rice in tea) set. Domestic eel prices seem to go up every year, but it's still delicious. The Unaju is great, but if you like to enjoy different flavors, I recommend trying the O-Hitsu Unagi Chazuke, which is a specialty here. I will definitely visit again as a yearly treat. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I made a reservation for my second daughter's birthday celebration and visited the restaurant. Eel is her favorite food. We started with sparkling wine to quench our thirst. It was refreshing and easy to drink. I thought we would have to wait a long time, but the eel dish arrived in about 10 minutes. It was a luxurious special grade eel dish. The eel was plump, the sauce was not too sweet, and the rice was just right. As a light eater, the amount of rice was sufficient for me, but for others, it might be considered small. The restaurant was not very spacious, and you could clearly hear the conversations of the neighboring tables. It's better to finish your meal and leave early rather than linger and enjoy a leisurely meal. Thank you for the delicious meal.

After a long time, I had a delicious lunch and treat. I ordered eel which was fluffy and tasty, and enjoyed it with a refreshing draft beer. It was my first time trying the premium Ichiban Shibori beer in a while, and I was very satisfied. I was able to have a nice lunch and catch up with a friend. Thank you for the meal.

In November of the 4th year of Reiwa, during my stay at the Imperial Hotel, I planned to have dinner at one of the hotel's restaurants. However, both Tenichi Imperial Hotel and Brasserie were fully booked. Therefore, I decided to make a reservation at this place and arrived around 5:50 pm. There were no other customers. Last time, I tried the famous O-Hitsu Unagi Chazuke (regular) and upgraded to liver soup, but I found the portion to be lacking even though I liked the taste. So, this time, I came with the intention of ordering something higher quality. However, when I carefully looked at the menu for O-Hitsu Unagi Chazuke, I found the following options: Regular (half portion) for 2915 yen, Regular (two-thirds portion) for 3685 yen, Matsutake for 4400 yen, Special Matsutake for 5830 yen. I ordered Matsutake. The O-Hitsu Unagi Chazuke Matsutake for 4400 yen came with a side dish of thickly sliced dried radish, which was nothing special. The eel itself was satisfying in terms of flavor, but the portion of liver in the liver soup was small. As I was leaving, I told a female staff member that I found this place much better than Hitsu-mabushi Bincho, and she happily said she would pass on the message to the kitchen staff. I left with the intention of coming back again.

There is an eel restaurant in Tokyu Plaza. The entrance is stylish and beautiful. Their specialty seems to be Hitsumabushi, but the steamed Kanto-style eel was delicious. Eel tataki is served with daikon and ponzu sauce. The steamed eel is plump and tasty, but it might be better to eat it with wasabi soy sauce. The grilled eel has a sweet and rich sauce, making the flavor intense. Due to the sauce, the grilling is a bit strong, resulting in a slightly tough texture. The steamed eel allows you to savor the taste of the eel and was more delicious. Because the sauce is rich, the Hitsumabushi was actually more delicious.

Visited on a Sunday afternoon. It's nice that even after 2pm, you can still get a table. Unagi Omote is perfect for those who want to have a light meal while having a drink. It's great for enjoying some sake and snacks. If you want to have unagi after that, the Unaju is a good choice! They are accommodating to such requests. If you're not looking for a place that specializes in eel flavor, this is a good option! It's delicious enough and satisfies the desire for drinking sake.

Located in Tokyu Plaza Ginza, "Unagi Tok" offers a selection of traditional Japanese dishes in a cozy dining atmosphere. With the main store near Hamamatsu Station and a total of 9 stores nationwide in department stores and commercial facilities, they also have branches in Nishi-Azabu and Shibuya in Tokyo, as well as in Bangkok, Thailand and Los Angeles, USA. The restaurant is located on the 11th floor of Tokyu Plaza, directly connected to Ginza Station. The dimly lit dining floor with a black curtain reveals a warm and inviting interior with high ceilings and modern jazz music playing softly in the background. There are 4 counter seats, 5 tables, and additional seating towards the back. A must-try dish is the "Oke Unagi Chazuke," served in a wooden oke (container) for a unique dining experience. Other options include various sizes of Unagi Ju (grilled eel over rice), Unagi Gohan served separately, and Unagi Gozen which comes with appetizers and chawanmushi. We tried the "Unagi Ju (Grilled Eel over Rice) - Large" priced at 3,520 yen. The dish arrived in about 15 minutes, presented in a red bowl with a lid. Upon opening, the glossy grilled eel coated in a rich sauce was revealed. The eel had a firm texture that required chewing, releasing a fragrant aroma and abundant fat. The sauce was bold with a strong soy sauce flavor and thick consistency, enhancing the sweetness of the dish. The rice, despite being slightly smaller in grains, absorbed the sauce well, creating a light and fluffy texture in the mouth. The dish was served with a light sprinkle of sansho pepper, adding a refreshing kick. Overall, "Unagi Tok" is a great choice for those who enjoy bold flavors. The convenient location in Tokyu Plaza Ginza and the fact that they are open for all-day dining make it suitable for various occasions, including business dinners. The slightly intense seasoning is sure to appeal to those with a preference for rich flavors. Prologue: Golf → Chat with the General Manager S at Shangri-La Hotel Tokyo → Plan to stay at Dormy Inn Tokyo Hatchobori, but canceled golf due to heavy rain forecast from a typhoon and only hit 120 balls at the practice range before heading to Tokyo. Planning to stay dry, I checked the restaurants at Ginza Mitsukoshi and Tokyu Plaza, connected to the West Ginza parking lot. Chose this place. Arrived around 1:10, but had to wait as a few customers were in line to pay. No other staff came to help (only one female staff in the hall). Kitchen staff (2 men) glanced at us but did nothing. Finally got seated after the customers left. Tea order and menu took a while. At 1:20, confirmed that the eel was domestic, and changed the soup to liver soup for an extra 110 yen. Two guests who came after me were seated at the back, but the lone female staff was running around, so the next female customer who entered the restaurant found no staff and left. The female staff mentioned to the kitchen staff that there was no one there, but there was no effort to inform the waiting customers to wait a bit. The female staff was doing her best, but the lack of staff was causing inconvenience to customers. At 1:35, after a 15-minute wait, I had the △□ Famous Eel Tea-Steeped Rice Bowl (Regular) for 2915 yen + 110 yen = 3025 yen: Initially tried eating some of it as a regular eel dish before trying it as tea-steeped rice. Quite delicious! Eventually, I ate half as is and half as tea-steeped rice. The liver soup had a strong flavor. Although I found it annoying that the amount increased with additional side dishes, I would like to try a slightly larger portion next time.

I cannot help but feel a deep sense of respect and gratitude towards the Edo period chefs who perfected the cooking method for grilled eel. I visited "Unagi Tok" in Ginza's Tokyu Plaza with a colleague after a long time. It's the ultimate luxury to leisurely enjoy sake before the eel rice bowl. To fully enjoy the eel, it's important not to eat too many appetizers. The menu offers a variety of dishes to meet this need. First, we had bone crackers, shirasu and daikon salad, itawasa, and kujo negi nuta with beer and sake. Next, we ordered grilled eel and smoked cod roe. Everything was delicious! The sake was flowing smoothly! It's time. Let's order the eel rice bowl! It takes a little time, but waiting is part of the meal. While waiting, we enjoyed our conversation over drinks and the remaining appetizers. Finally, it arrived! The eel rice bowl! Opening the lid revealed the enticing grill marks and the fragrant aroma that tickled the nostrils. Adding sansho pepper midway created a perfect harmony with the sweet eel sauce. Despite having a smaller portion of rice, we finished every grain cleanly. Eel prices continue to rise every year, but I thought I should work hard to be able to enjoy it a few times a year. Thank you for the meal!

Tokyu has few restaurants open late at night. However, I found an eel restaurant that was open, so I decided to visit. Since it was a holiday, I enjoyed a beer. The eel liver was delicious and made a great appetizer. I finished with an eel rice bowl, which was also very tasty. The location was great, so it was a satisfying meal with no disappointments. Thank you for the delicious meal.

This is an eel restaurant located in Tokyu Plaza. Since Noda Iwa was closed on January 4th, I decided to try this place for the first time. They recommend hitsumabushi and other dishes. I think it might be a restaurant from Nagoya. Since it was New Year's, I ordered the eel dish with two layers, similar to a "medium" size here. It was very satisfying and luxurious. The sauce is on the sweeter side, so if you don't like sweet sauces, be aware. Located in Tokyu Plaza Ginza, it's a clean and nice place to enjoy eel and hitsumabushi.

Ordered the special eel rice bowl for 5500 yen at the eel restaurant "Tok" in Tokyu Plaza Ginza. The eel was grilled to perfection, with a crispy skin that reminded me of Kansai-style eel. They use eels farmed in Hamamatsu. The sauce had a strong punch with a sweet taste, making it a satisfying dish. The rice was slightly firm and there was a generous portion. Among the various eel restaurants in Ginza, this was one of my favorites. - Restaurant Name: Unagi Tok Tokyu Plaza Ginza - Google Maps: Unagi Tok Ginza Store - Phone: 03-6274-6109 - Nearest Station: 157m from Ginza Station, directly connected to Tokyu Plaza Ginza 11F - Opening Hours: 11:00-23:00 (Last Order 22:00) - Closed: Irregular (follows Tokyu Plaza Ginza) - Reservation: Available - Seats: 42 - Budget: 4000-4999 yen - Other Info: No private rooms, all seats non-smoking, parking available (shared with Tokyu Plaza Ginza) - Hashtags: #UnagiTok #GinzaUnagi #GinzaLunch #GinzaDinner #GinzaGourmet #GinzaFood #GinzaSunday #FoodieConnect #GourmetInstagram #Gurunavi #FoodiesUnite #FoodPornGram #FoodTerrorGram #Foodstagram #Foodstagrammer #FoodTerrorism #GourmetTravel #DeliciousIsHappiness #GourmetFriendsWanted #FoodieClub #FoodieGirls #FoodieGuys #WantToConnectWithFoodies #KantoGourmet #FoodReportGram #GourmetReporter #FoodWriter #FoodieWriter #BGradeGourmetInfo #TokyoGourmet

I visited an eel restaurant on the 11th floor of Tokyu Plaza Ginza during the daytime. Despite it being lunchtime, there were few people on this floor, possibly due to the lingering effects of the coronavirus. The restaurant seemed quite empty, with only about 3 groups of elderly solo diners. I ordered the specialty Unagi Chazuke <Upper> for 3,685 yen, which was a bit pricey. Looking back, I realized there was a lunch set similar to the one I ordered but cheaper by about 1,000 yen. I should have probably gone for the 2,000 yen lunch set instead. The Unagi Chazuke arrived promptly, resembling more of a Hittsumabushi than traditional Chazuke. The taste was decent, though the condiments were average. Overall, it was an okay meal.

I arrived around 11:30 on a weekday and was able to be seated right away. I ordered the Tokuno lunch set for 1,998 yen, which is limited to 10 servings. The service was great, there was no wait, it's non-smoking, and they accept card and PayPay. Takeout is available, and prices range from 2,000 to 2,999 yen for lunch and 4,000 to 4,999 yen for dinner. They are open from 11:00 to 23:00 (last order at 22:00) with shortened hours until 20:00. My mother said she wanted to eat eel for the first time in a while, so I searched for a good restaurant and went there! "Unagi Toku" on the 11th floor of Tokyu Plaza in Ginza is a restaurant where you can get eel dishes starting from the 2000 yen range. I was curious about the specialty "O-hitsu Unagi Chazuke," so I ordered that. I chose the "Matsu" option for 4400 yen including tax. It came with side dishes and eel liver. The eel was served in a small o-hitsu (wooden box) and it looked deliciously shiny! I got excited~ I was told to eat the first serving as it is, put condiments on the second serving, and turn the third serving into ochazuke with broth, but I ended up eating the first two servings as they were with just some sansho pepper sprinkled on top. The eel had a crispy texture in some parts, and the contrast with the soft flesh was delicious. The sauce was rich but not overpowering, which made it great even as ochazuke. I also like eel rice bowls, but what's great about ochazuke is that you can change the flavor. There was plenty in the o-hitsu, so I was already quite full by the third serving, but the broth made it easy to eat. The side dish, which was like a simmered dish similar to kinpira, was a bit salty, but overall, I was very satisfied with the O-hitsu Unagi Chazuke.

Christmas. I was working as usual. And with overtime too (laughs). Well, for 2020, just having a job is a blessing... So, on Christmas, I decided to treat myself to some good food and ended up here at "Unagi Tokyu Plaza Ginza Store". The restaurant is located on the 11th floor of Tokyu Plaza Ginza, directly connected to Ginza Station and a few minutes' walk from Yurakucho Station. I was hoping it would be less crowded due to the pandemic, but all the restaurants in Tokyu Plaza Ginza were packed, especially "Nemuro Hanamaru Ginza Store". But I managed to slip in. I ordered Chitose Tsuru Junmai Shiboritate Ichigo for 990 yen, Liver Grill for 825 yen, Unagi Roll for 1,870 yen, and the famous Unagi Oke Cha-zuke Mats for 4,400 yen. Chitose Tsuru was a new sake for me, made from rice suitable for brewing from Hokkaido Sapporo. It had a refreshing and smooth taste with a hint of bitterness, which I enjoyed. The alcohol content was around 15-16%. I enjoyed the Liver Grill with the sake. The liver pieces were large and flavorful, perfect with the sweet sauce. Unagi Roll was something I started eating in my 30s. The fluffy egg and juicy unagi with sweet sauce were delicious. Lastly, the famous Unagi Oke Cha-zuke, confusingly named, had different levels like "Nami" (standard), "Ue" (upgraded), "Matsu" (superior), and "Tokujyo" (premium). I ordered "Matsu", which was an upgraded unagi. The taste and portion were satisfying, and it was a delightful meal. The restaurant had a calm and modern Japanese atmosphere with counter and table seats. The staff were polite and provided detailed explanations. Overall, it was a great dining experience, and the value for money was good considering the quality and portion size of the dishes.

After 64 months of staying at home due to the COVID-19 self-restraint, I finally took my mother out to Ginza for lunch. Many shops in Tokyu Plaza were closed, and the restaurant area was quiet with few people. I hope all these businesses can survive. I wanted to treat my mother to eat in or take out when we go out. My mother loves eel, so we went to "Tok", where they offer a half-size set menu that even light eaters like my mother can enjoy. The set includes eel, salad, clear soup, and chawanmushi. It was a happy moment to celebrate my mother's birthday a little early with her favorite eel after a long time going out. The image shows the eel rice bowl I ordered, which had delicious broth. The half-size lunch set costs ¥1998, and the eel rice bowl (regular size) costs ¥2915.

I felt like eating Unagi-donburi and didn't want to go out in the hot weather, so I visited this place nearby. It was before 4 pm on a weekday, so most eateries were closed, but I was grateful that this one was open. I was the only customer. I couldn't decide on the size of the eel, but I wanted to have sushi later, so I ordered a half-size eel bowl and eel liver. The half-size was just right, but I should have asked for half the rice. The rice was small and had a firm texture. The eel had a delicate and fluffy taste rather than a smoky flavor. Maybe because of hot yoga or drinking, I found the sauce a bit light. I love sansho pepper, so I sprinkled it generously as usual. I was impressed by the chopsticks. They were not the usual flimsy ones but felt really nice in my hand. I almost wanted to take them home.
