Today I visited Toriyaki Kohka. Toriyaki Kohka is a chicken restaurant located in Ebisu, Shibuya-ku, Tokyo. It is a restaurant that specializes in chicken dishes, with a main focus on non-skewered grilled chicken courses. The restaurant is located right next to Ebisu Garden Place, and offers a unique concept of non-skewered grilled chicken that seems to cater to both high-end and mass-market needs. I decided to visit because of its interesting concept and its convenient location. After looking online, I found out that Torishiki, a renowned yakitori restaurant, collaborated with LDH Kitchen to open this restaurant. It's no wonder that the omakase courses get fully booked. Upon being seated at the restaurant, the course started with chicken breast and ginger rolls. The texture of the chicken breast was great, and the ginger added a nice flavor. The course included various dishes such as spring rolls, snow crab confit with garlic sauce, green beans with winter melon, Datte chicken knee meat, asparagus with nori genovese sauce, Iwate duck loin, tsukune with mayonnaise, edamame mochi with bonito broth, vinegar miso sauce with chicken neck skin, soft bone with diaphragm, esophagus with balsamic vinegar, Datte chicken wing tips with cumin, grilled sweet potato, fruit tomato and shiso with Tosa vinegar, Datte chicken thigh with sauce, Datte chicken bone soup, and grilled rice ball tea pickles with apricot shaved ice. The course was well-rounded with generous portions, and each dish was carefully crafted and delicious. While yakitori is great, I also feel that chicken dishes should be considered as a dining option. Overall, it was a wonderful dining experience. Thank you for the meal.
