Last year (2022), just like last year, a wonderful soirée was held on Tanabata with the gathering of Japanese, Western, and Chinese restaurants at the Cerulean Tower. The event was a great success, with tickets selling out quickly. As expected, the evening began with a speech from General Manager Takashi Takei about the reorganization of the former Tokyu Hotel Group, followed by a story from Executive Chef Yoshihiko Fukuda about the early days of the opening, especially his encounter with Kenichi Chen (Kenichiro Chen also attended). It seemed that the soirée was dedicated to Kenichi Chen, as each dish incorporated Sichuan influences in honor of him. Perfect for the hot summer weather! The soirée featured the following restaurants and menu items: - Japanese Cuisine: "Sakuraoka" - French: "Cucagnio" - Teppanyaki: "Sakura - SAKURA" - Chinese Cuisine: "Szechwan Restaurant Chen" - Pastry Shop (Soirée Menu) - Amuse-bouche: Prosciutto and fig, cheese galette - Act 1: Three kinds of appetizers ("Feast of Japanese, Western, and Chinese cuisines") - Act 2: Shark fin steamed egg custard, lotus root bun, snow crab sauce, wolfberry, and spring onion topping - Act 3: Fish - Roasted swordfish, farro salad - Act 4: Meat - Beef fillet, egg crepe wrap - Act 5: Closing dish - Chen's Mapo Tofu - Act 6: Dessert - Cognac parfait, hazelnuts, Blue Mountain cream - Mignardises: Received a "Kugelhof" as a souvenir. The station and the area around Shibuya Station are under construction. This is a high-quality Tokyu Hotel located nearby. I used it for a small gathering. The banquet hall in the basement was spacious. The hotel was bustling with many foreign guests, completely post-COVID, and very lively. The food was of hotel quality and all of it was delicious. Thank you for the meal.

On the last Sunday of May at 6pm, there was a formal dinner organized by Kokuriko's mom at the Cerulean B2 Ballroom in Shibuya. There were about 10 round tables, with a participation fee of 10,000 yen. The event included a tap dance performance, with a stage set up specifically for tap dancing. The dinner began at 7pm after a 45-minute ceremony featuring Kokuriko's tap dance performance and professional dancers. The champagne for the toast was Mouton Rothschild, and there were plenty of mixed nuts on the table. The wines served were a blend of Sauvignon Blanc and Chardonnay from Chile's Tacuin for the white, and Caritela for the red. The courses included seared marlin and Niçoise salad for the appetizer, dual-layered chilled pumpkin soup with chicken consommé, pan-fried wild sea bream with vegetable velouté, and slow-roasted Hokkaido beef with herb and morel mushroom sauce. The dessert was a jelly of sweet summer orange and Japanese pepper topped with yogurt ice cream and meringue. Overall, the dishes were relatively plain, but the visual presentation of the chilled soup was beautiful. The menu and name cards on the tables indicated that the head chef was Junhiko Fukuda. Guests enjoyed the food while H-chan showcased her dedication to tap dancing and English conversation skills. She has been practicing tap dancing for over 10 years, and her commitment to learning English has been unwavering. The invitation for this event was received two and a half months prior, and the event planning was discussed at Yin in Nishi-Azabu, where they often meet. The conversation about the event took place on March 11, a memorable night when Japan defeated the Czech Republic 10-2 in a baseball game.

The meal consisted of a croque monsieur and a tuna sandwich, with tiramisu and crumble cake for dessert. The atmosphere inside the restaurant was great. I went for the tiramisu, but the meal was also delicious and stylish. After eating both the meal and dessert, I was full. The tiramisu had a good balance with chocolate and was not too heavy. The crumble cake was also recommended, not too sweet.

This time, I stayed at the Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel, a 5-minute walk from Shibuya Station, for 2 nights with breakfast included. For breakfast on the first day, I enjoyed a hearty buffet at "Karumera", and on the second day, I had a relaxing Japanese breakfast at "Sakuraoka". I also had delicious cocktails at the Tower's Bar Belovisto, with a beautiful night view, making me feel happy. On the last day, I discovered that there was a restaurant called "Suzan Restaurant Chen", which was listed in the top 100 Chinese restaurants in the 2021 Tabelog ranking, in the hotel. I immediately made a lunch reservation and visited. Both restaurants were delicious and satisfying. The room was also comfortable and I had a pleasant stay. If I have the opportunity, I would like to stay here again.

Today's dinner was at Shibuya's Tokyu Cerulean Tower. It had been a while since I visited Shibuya Station and I was surprised by how much the city has changed. The Cerulean Tower, standing along the Shuto Expressway, used to be one of the tall buildings that Shibuya was proud of. Cross Tower was also one of them. How many buildings are standing there now? I don't even know the names of the buildings anymore. Today, I had a course meal at the hotel's party. French course meals are meant to be enjoyed slowly, as they are visually appealing, so even a small amount can be filling. First, there was "Trout Salmon Marinated in Citrus Vinaigrette." It was a confusing dish. I had to look up each word on Wikipedia. "Trout" is actually "Truite" in French, a type of salmon enjoyed year-round in France. There were two pieces of fish that looked like salmon. I couldn't find "Soimone" but it might be a typo for "Lemon." The dish had a lemon flavor, I think. Under the fish was something that looked like mashed potatoes. "Juannette" didn't come up on the search. It was all very hard to decipher. "Vinaigrette" is a French sauce. The green sauce's taste was a mystery. Next was "Seasonal Vegetable Cold Cream Soup with Pumpkin Consomme." It was a pumpkin soup with a consomme flavor. There was a dollop of fresh cream in the middle, topped with what seemed like pistachios or grains. The soup had chunks of something, but I couldn't remember the taste. Then there was "Steamed Baked Sawara with Farro Barley Risotto Perugia Style." "Farro barley" is an ancient grain. There was barley risotto under the Sawara. But why was it Perugia style in a French dish? Perugia is a city in Italy, known for its various regional dishes. It's also famous for truffles, but I didn't taste any truffle flavor. The main course was "Grilled Beef Fillet with Mushrooms and Extra Virgin Olive Oil." This dish was fitting for a main course. The beef was tender and juicy, with a mushroom sauce that complemented it well. However, the mashed potato wrapped in a mask that was served alongside made no sense. For dessert, there was "Sweet Potato Mont Blanc with Apple Sorbet and Caramel Sauce." The sweet potato Mont Blanc was unusual but tasted like autumn. The apple sorbet hinted at the coming winter. It was a dessert that captured the season. I had some bread in between, but it would have been better if it was a bit warmer. Overall, the French course meal was not only delicious but visually appealing. It reminded me of the importance of eating with your eyes first. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I attended a meeting for work and enjoyed a course meal in the evening. I am looking forward to seeing what kind of dishes will be served. Lately, I have been treated to delicious meals at various hotels due to work, and I am always impressed by the ability to serve so many dishes at once. The appetizer was a salmon terrine wrapped in seasonal vegetables. The creamy sauce with Western wasabi was excellent and matched perfectly with the salmon. The appetizer was of a high standard. The cold cream soup made from seasonal vegetables and pumpkin with consommé was also delicious. The Provencal-style sea bream served at this time of year was a great choice. The grilled beef fillet with mushrooms and extra virgin olive oil was also excellent. Overall, the dishes were well-prepared. If the food is of this quality, I would be happy to be invited to a wedding or similar event.

I went to have tea with my daughter, but we weren't in the mood for Starbucks today, so we decided to visit Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel. Since the 40th-floor lounge was closed for lunch, we relaxed in the lobby lounge on the 2nd floor. I had a great impression from last year when I made a reservation for a cute Halloween-themed Afternoon Tea set. This time, we just wanted tea, but ended up ordering cake as well because my teenager was with me. The Royal Milk Tea here is famous for being delicious, so I was torn between that and a cappuccino, but I went with the Royal Milk Tea. It was a great choice! The milk tea was really delicious. If you ever want to indulge in a luxurious feeling, have a meeting over tea, I recommend this place. Thank you for the meal!

Shibuya Station is close by, but walking there can be stressful for the distance. It's separated by a main street, making it tough for people with bad knees or feet. Once inside, it's a comfortable and nice spot, but the entrance gives off a high-end vibe that may be intimidating for some. Despite being close to Shibuya Station and facing a main street, it has a calm atmosphere with just the right amount of barriers. During the day, you can enjoy relatively affordable Chinese and Japanese cuisine (from a super high-class restaurant chain). It's also a great spot for relaxation, light snacks, and coffee time with an open and inviting atmosphere. The hotel's bakery attached to the cafe area offers high-quality bread and cakes that are perfect for takeout. The unsalted bread sold at the cafe's entrance is delicious and ideal for those with severe high blood pressure or kidney issues. The taste is top-notch. Due to the pandemic, unsalted bread is currently available by reservation only. You can truly experience the goodness of Japanese hotels here.

On the 2nd floor underground, at Ballroom Ramen Jiro, celebrating the 77th birthday of Mr. Takumi Yamada, a special event was held as a token of gratitude from the students to Jiro. The owner and super regular customers from Moriya Jiro, along with the Super Jirorian, had a fun-filled conversation all the way to Shibuya. The staff's consideration and creative production made the 2-hour experience enjoyable. The food was decent in taste and variety, but the only downside was the limited soft drink options of oolong tea and orange juice. Although there were various types of alcohol available. Thanks to the hotel's generosity, a Jiro without noodles was provided, but by the time they went to pick it up, there was no pork left, only garlic and vegetables. They also received a free parking ticket for 4 hours, making it a truly satisfying experience. Many thanks to Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel.

This year's year-end party season has arrived. There have been various ups and downs throughout the year, with a series of challenges and health issues, but I was able to visit many different places. Unfortunately, I couldn't visit Okinawa this year. I am particularly aware of 2019 because next year, in 2020, the Tokyo Olympics will be held. I was born after the last Tokyo Olympics, so this will be my first time experiencing the Olympics in Japan. I have been living in Yokohama since the millennium year of 2000, which makes it 20 years now. I started my current job in 2009, so I have just completed a decade. There may be various graduations happening, and it seems like it will be a year of graduation for me as well. Despite being a year-end party, the meal at the hotel was the most delicious I have ever had. It was a French cuisine with a twist, and despite being a large-scale meal, it was well-prepared and delicious. The pistachio ice cream dessert was particularly delicious, making it the perfect ending to the meal.

The second stop is at my favorite bar in Shibuya♡ Shibuya is synonymous with youth and restlessness. However, this bar on the top floor of Cerulean Tower is far from that image. With no obstructions around, the night view is beautiful♡ My friend, who lives in a place where you can see the horizon, was delighted! Since we both have work tomorrow, we ordered mocktails, today's dessert, and my favorite crème brûlée. Today's dessert was peach sorbet✨ In addition to the peach sorbet, there were jellies, cube-shaped sherbets, and peach candy decorations, allowing us to enjoy various textures and temperatures. There were four types of mocktails, and I chose a mocktail called Berry Berry Cool, which had an excellent combination of berries and lime. My friend had the Cerulean Squash, which is also the name of the tower. It was a mocktail that was visually beautiful with a stunning blue color. We enjoyed a happy moment listening to live music while looking at the night view with my trusted friend. In the pleasantly bustling atmosphere, we were able to have private conversations without worrying about others around us, so I realized that it's nice to spend such a night with friends of the same gender occasionally♡

Today, I put all my focus on the celebration of Chef Fukuda receiving the French Agricultural Merit Award. The portion size was small but just right. Not only the content of the dishes, but also the presentation seemed to have improved significantly. The service was decent, with around 500 guests being served efficiently, even at the farthest table like mine. The wine, a popular champagne with citrus notes, paired well with the appetizer. The Condrieu had a rich creaminess that complemented the crustacean, and the Viognier was a perfect match. The red wine, a young vintage Bordeaux Grand Cru, was served with a thick red wine sauce sauté and a truffle accent. Even though it was banquet cuisine, the cooking was done perfectly. The cuisine at Cerulean has truly become delicious. It's no wonder they received a medal.

Shibuya Station West Exit Mark City is a 5-minute walk away, so it's very close to the station! This hotel is great for both dining and staying over, with Chinese and Italian options. The hotel staff are very friendly and the lobby is clean and spacious. This time, I stayed on the Executive Floor from the 32nd to the 37th floor. There are differences in bedding, pajamas, and amenities compared to the lower floors, and there is an espresso machine as well! The furniture is tasteful, spacious, and looks like a great place to relax and unwind (^_−)−☆ The bathroom even has a window, so you can see the night view. In the morning, you can enjoy a leisurely bath while sipping coffee. It's the best ☆*:.。. o(≧▽≦)o .。.:*☆ I brought my favorite cold-pressed juice, and after waking up, I relaxed on the comfortable sofa without a care in the world. It's the ultimate happiness~♡ I am completely satisfied with the Cerulean Hotel!!

In late July 2018, during a business trip to Tokyo, I stayed at the Cerulean Tower Tokyu Hotel. As a Tokyu Hotel member, I was eligible for an upgrade, but I was lured by the JAL 500-mile gift pack and ended up in a small room that was not eligible for an upgrade. The hotel is conveniently connected to Tokyu Shibuya Station, which was helpful in the hot weather, although it didn't help with the heat. After checking in, I had coffee at the café in the lobby entrance before heading to a meeting. The café was crowded, so it's better to sign in first and then go to the café with some time to spare. After a long day of work, I returned to the hotel around 10:00 PM and went to the restaurant on the top floor for dinner. The restaurant had a beautiful view of the night skyline, and I enjoyed a light meal while looking out over the city of Shibuya.

The customer service was polite. The taste was decent. The sashimi was a bit lacking in quantity and the quality was not the best. In terms of cost performance, it's okay. The location is good and you can receive decent service.
