I visited a restaurant in Yotsuya Sanchome, feeling somewhat nauseous due to the strange humidity clinging to me. The area is full of eateries and bustling with people. After walking through the busy streets, I arrived at the restaurant after about 5 minutes. The interior was small but clean and cozy. It's extremely difficult to make a reservation at this restaurant, but luckily I managed to secure one through the OMAKASE website this time. I couldn't wait for the dishes to arrive. I ordered the course menu for 16,500 yen, which included appetizers, soup, a side dish, grilled dish, main dish, fried dish, rice, and dessert. I thought it was a crab specialty restaurant, but it seemed to specialize in crustaceans, with shrimp and crab being the main ingredients. Each dish was meticulously prepared, showcasing the quality of the ingredients. If I had to point out one thing, it would be that the portion size of each dish was a bit small for the price of the course menu, leaving a slight feeling of being overpriced. I feel like adding one more crab dish would elevate the satisfaction level. But it might be a difficult request to make?!

Everywhere is raising prices, but considering that you can eat a variety of shellfish for around 10,000 yen, I am satisfied〜ヽ(=´▽`=)ノ Appetizer: Striped shrimp, tomato, green pepper, sea urchin The striped shrimp, being a type of sweet shrimp, has a strong sweet and sticky flavor. The button shrimp, which is a similar variety, is just right in between. Soup: Grilled eggplant and kabosu with shrimp The texture of the shrimp is plentiful and easily discernible. Sashimi: Carabineros shrimp and red snapper The red snapper, prepared the day before and on the day, is lined up side by side, making it enjoyable to taste the difference. Crab and zucchini miso dengaku The Hokkaido crab, which can only be caught in Hokkaido, is delicious. The zucchini is also tasty!! Vinegared dish using hairy crab The seasonal out-of-season green onion was lacking in flavor... Shrimp fry It may be to bring out the individuality, but I think it's unnecessary to fry it with Aurora sauce. The tartar sauce with real sansho pepper is a change-up, and that alone is enough. Crab and corn rice The sweetness of the crab, the sweetness of the corn, and the accent of crab miso are the best〜ヽ(=´▽`=)ノ I was able to eat a variety of crabs, and compared to other crab specialty restaurants, it is cheaper! Nowadays, other places might be struggling during the winter season... I want to work hard and make another reservation (๑•̀ㅂ•́)و✧

This is my second visit to this restaurant, which specializes in crustaceans and is quite difficult to reserve even among the new restaurants I have reviewed on Tabelog in Tokyo. Last time, I was so happy to get a reservation that I was more focused on the ambiance and didn't fully appreciate the taste. This time, I had the luxury to admire the beautiful tableware and enjoy slowly while sipping champagne. The food was so delicious that I ended up making a reservation for next time, even though I can only get a booking after November. The deep-fried miso shrimp and tartare with real Japanese pepper were incredibly tasty. The crab with rare Kiyoyaki plum was also amazing. The Hagi-yaki pottery was lovely. The flower crab and zucchini dengaku were delicious, served in Iga-yaki pottery. The ibara crab and winter melon soup with sudachi citrus were refreshing. The sashimi of shrimp and sea bream was fresh and paired well with sake. Seeing the client's happy face is a joy, but I must admit that I also enjoyed the experience myself the most. Thank you, Chef Kato, for the wonderful dishes!

Today I felt like eating crab. At a restaurant located in Yotsuya-Sanchome, Araki-cho, you can enjoy Japanese cuisine that focuses on crab and shrimp. The dishes, made with carefully selected crab and shrimp from all over Japan, are exquisite. Today, I had the following dishes: Kamakura snow crab with sea urchin, tomato sherbet, and dashi jelly; Saga winter crab with winter melon; Aichi prawn with sea bream; Nemuro Hanasakigani crab with zucchini miso; Wakkanai hair crab with crab vinegar jelly; seasonal prawn fry with sansho tartar sauce; Hokkaido snow crab with gold rush pickles; Akatsuki peach with champagne jelly. The winter crab was delicious. Besides the crab, the zucchini miso was incredibly tasty. The prawn fry had a delicious shrimp miso soup that spilled out from inside, amazing! The total cost, including drinks, was around 24,000 yen. It was a wonderful restaurant! I would love to go again!

Located about a 5-minute walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome Station! I made a reservation through the booking site OMAKASE and visited this restaurant. They offer crab and shrimp dishes. I had two pieces of shrimp fry and left feeling satisfied! I was able to take the rice home, so I was very happy! Thank you for the delicious meal.

I've been wanting to visit this place for a while but couldn't find the right timing to make a reservation. Finally, I was able to get a reservation at OMAKASE. The menu seems to change every month, and this time it was all about shrimp and crab, except for the dessert. Even in this hot season, both the cold and warm dishes were enjoyable without being too heavy. The drink options are reasonably priced, with a good variety of bottles without too much overlap in types. It seems like it would be best to order individual drinks if there are only two people, but if you have a group of four or more, sharing a couple of bottles while enjoying the meal together would be great. The chef and the hostess seem to be the only ones running the place, so the service is leisurely, allowing you to relax and enjoy your meal. I look forward to revisiting in the fall or winter. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

Visited during the humid days of the rainy season. I had the impression that crab is in season during winter, so I thought the dishes would be mainly shrimp-centered during this time, but it turned out to be a good balance of shrimp and crab dishes. The menu included: - Waterless June Appetizer: Striped shrimp, sea urchin, peas - Bowl dish: Red snow crab, myoga, bracken, green yuzu - Warm dish: Car shrimp, red snapper - Grilled dish: Flower crab, turnip - Deep-fried dish: Cherry shrimp and Kamo eggplant tempura - Rice dish: Car shrimp miso fry with real sansho pepper tartar - Red dashi with Hokkaido snow crab and asparagus - Side dishes: Tofu, green onions, fried tofu, seaweed, pickled radish, salted kelp - Dessert: Green plum, red shiso The dishes were made with these ingredients. Just like fish, the taste and texture of crustaceans vary depending on the type, so each dish was a surprise. The "Car Shrimp Miso Fry" seemed like a classic dish, which I also had last time. It was so hot that I almost burned my mouth, so this time I learned my lesson and ate it slowly. I thought the rice dish would be shrimp, but I got excited when it turned out to be "Hokkaido snow crab"! Served with seasonal asparagus, it reminded me of the northern regions, which was delightful. The leftover rice was made into onigiri, which was still delicious even when cold. I will visit again in October. Thank you for the feast.

Ubuca, a renowned crab cuisine restaurant in Araki Town. This was my first visit to this one-cup restaurant. I enjoyed crab dishes such as sea urchin, sweet shrimp, snow crab, monkfish liver, water shield, green yuzu soup, carabinero, red snapper, female snow crab, turnip, sakura shrimp, Kamo eggplant shigure yaki, carabinero miso fry with tarragon tartar, Hokkaido snow crab, asparagus rice, green onion, fried tofu, seaweed, red dashi with sansho pepper, red time rain daikon, napa cabbage pickles, salted kelp, green plum, red shiso plum. Even though it's not snow crab season, they still have it during this time of year. The quality of the food is high, and the prices are reasonable. The nostalgic atmosphere of the traditional restaurant is also fantastic. I love these kinds of places.

This time, everything was a taste of bliss. I always feel the master's passion for cooking, but this time was exceptional. The grilled dish of cherry shrimp and Kamo eggplant was especially delicious. It wasn't available this time, but their "shinjo" dish is exquisite. It can be quite difficult to make a reservation, but this restaurant is highly recommended.

Yotsuya Japanese restaurant specializing in shellfish dishes. Located within a 5-minute walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome Station. This place is also listed in the 2023 Japan's Top 100 Restaurants. I made a reservation through the omakase website and luckily found a last-minute cancellation slot. We visited at 7:00 pm on a weekday with only 2 other groups of guests. We opted for the Yayoi course priced at 16,500 yen including tax. The course included the following dishes: - Soup: A soup made with Zuwai crab from the Unzen Bay, featuring plenty of crab meat, radish, peas, and a hint of yuzu fragrance. The presentation of the crab shells for each crab used was a unique and enjoyable touch. - Appetizer: Next up was a sashimi dish featuring prawns from the Goto Islands and horse mackerel from Tottori Prefecture. The prawns were served in two ways, raw and lightly seared, with the raw prawns being particularly delicious when eaten with salt. - Dish: A dish of Kegani crab from Wajima, cooked in a consomme made from all the ingredients used that day. The richness of the crab miso and meat, lightly seared, was incredibly flavorful. - Main dish: A dish of Mosaebi prawns, firefly squid, and rapeseed flowers, served with a vinegar jelly from Kochi. The prawns were exceptionally sweet compared to other varieties. - Grilled dish: Grilled Ibara crab from Kanagawa with shirako and bamboo shoots from Kagoshima, sprinkled with yuzu. A luxurious combination of crab and shirako. - Fried dish: A prawn fry served with prawn salt made from the prawn shells. The prawn miso hidden inside the fry added a wonderful surprise when eaten. - Rice dish, soup, and pickles: A clay pot rice dish made with Matsuba crab and turnips, with plenty of crab miso. The remaining portion was available for takeout, along with a miso soup and pickles. - Dessert: A matcha pudding topped with strawberries, with a smooth texture and a perfect pairing of red and black beans. The price of 16,500 yen for such a lavish spread of crab and prawns was truly a steal. The service was excellent, the presentation was impressive, and the food was satisfying in every way. I immediately made another reservation for my next visit. I will definitely be returning. Thank you for the wonderful meal!

I heard that there is a restaurant where you can eat crustacean dishes. The restaurant has a cozy atmosphere with a small storefront. It seems to be run by a husband and wife. The menu includes a course meal with various dishes featuring crab, shrimp, and other seafood. Each dish was carefully prepared and showcased the unique flavors of the crab. One dish that stood out was the crab rice, which was simple yet delicious, allowing the natural flavor of the crab to shine. I was impressed by the attention to detail and the delicate presentation of each dish. I look forward to returning in a different season to try their shrimp dishes. The restaurant staff were friendly and knowledgeable, making it a place worth recommending.

Located a few minutes' walk from Yotsuya-Sanchome, this specialty crustacean shop in Araki-cho is quite popular, making reservations hard to come by. However, it's not impossible to secure a reservation if you're diligent about checking on the reservation start date. I visited on a weekday evening. The atmosphere is casual, with a retro Western-style interior that adds an interesting touch to the predominantly Japanese cuisine. The omakase course consisted of 8 dishes in total, including 6 courses, rice, and dessert, priced at 16,500 yen. Each dish featured shrimp and crab, and they were all consistently delicious, making it a luxurious course. The crab and kelp grill with sea urchin was a standout visually and in taste. The combination of kelp dashi and rich miso flavor was excellent. The specialty shrimp miso fry didn't quite hit the mark for me personally, but it was still tasty. Overall, the experience was delightful, and the focus on crustaceans made it special. The prices were reasonable too.

★Yotsuya Araki-cho is a restaurant where you can enjoy a specialty course featuring crustaceans that is quite difficult to reserve. I have been looking forward to it for two months! I have been to several restaurants where you can enjoy a whole crab, but this place offers a refined course where you can savor crustaceans little by little. Araki-cho has many restaurants I want to visit, and the surroundings have a nice atmosphere. Along with the dishes, crab shells are served, each with a different size, allowing you to enjoy without getting tired of the taste. It was a quantity that should have been completely insufficient for me, but I was completely satisfied, so I didn't need to go to another restaurant and went home. I wanted to have crab rice at home, so I had just one bowl at the restaurant and had it as a late-night snack. I have made a reservation for my next visit, but it seems that the next time I can see you will be in the spring, as you will be going abroad for a long time. I will visit again, thank you for the meal ☺︎

I visited after 3 months. Last time, due to the influence of Corona, there were only two groups with a gap, but this time it is full. Course this time: First dish: Sweet shrimp, shrimp potato, shishito pepper. Appetizer: Carabiner, mackerel. Soup: Snow crab, chrysanthemum greens, chrysanthemum, yellow yuzu. Main dish: Mixed hairy crabs, grilled salmon roe. Grilled dish: Carabiner miso fry, real mountain pepper tartar. Rice dish: Snow crab, maitake mushroom, matsutake mushroom. Red soup: Tofu, nameko mushrooms, green onions, sansho pepper. Pickles: Red radish, daikon radish, cucumber, salted kelp. Dessert: Butter butternut kudzu mochi, one persimmon. Each dish is very delicious and the portion is just right. The rice dish has a lot of volume, so I had one serving and took the rest home. The price has increased slightly since last time, which is a bit disappointing, but this is the same for any restaurant, so it can't be helped.

It is a rare specialty restaurant that focuses on crustaceans, but it has a solid customer base and is always difficult to make reservations. It is not Michelin-starred or a famous restaurant, yet it is always hard to secure a reservation. By targeting a niche market and ignoring the maximum capacity, they have created their unique market. Moreover, it seems that they will become even more difficult to book due to business trips until January to March 2023. It was a great experience dining with everyone. The menu for the day included sweet shrimp with loofah, carabinero shrimp with red grouper, kebuka Ise lobster sashimi, hairy crab salad, snow crab with kombu, carabinero shrimp miso fry, snow crab with assorted mushrooms, red miso soup, and pickles. Lastly, there was a pumpkin pudding. #Ubuka #Yotsuya #Arakimachi #CrustaceanSpecialty

Client's request to find a crab specialty restaurant in Tokyo led us to Ubuca, a surprisingly difficult-to-book place. Reservations open every 1st of the month at 3 PM, but within 5 minutes, it's fully booked for two months ahead. Currently, only online reservations are accepted. Expectations were high as we headed to Ubuca at 5 PM. Here is the menu: - Appetizer: Striped shrimp, Aoyagi pillar, Sanbai vinegar - Hassun: Carabiner, Nine pictures - Soup: Spiny lobster, Jade eggplant, Aoyuzu - Main dish: Hair crab salad - Grilled dish: Hanasakigani, Ikura - Fried dish: Carabiner miso fry, Sansho tartare - Rice dish: Zuwai crab - Red soup: Tofu, mozuku, green onion, sansho - Fragrant dish: Red radish, daikon, cucumber, salted kelp - Dessert: Almond tofu, melon, kumquat The Sanbai vinegar was refreshing and prepared our stomachs nicely. The Nine pictures sashimi was a first-time experience, and the carabiner had a sweetness that complemented well with salt. The soup base was excellent, and the Spiny lobster as an objet d'art was amazing. The Hair crab salad was a must-try! The crab miso was delicious, and the Hanasakigani was full of plump meat. The fried dish with Sansho tartare was excellent too! The crab rice cooked in an earthen pot was so filling that we couldn't ask for seconds, but they kindly packed two extra for us. Ubuca has been in business in Araki-cho for about 10 years, and the owner explained that the crab and lobster sourcing can vary not only by season but also by the day. Looking forward to the next visit with excitement. The packed crab rice was a hit at home. Thank you for the wonderful time.

Today, I went to Ubuka in Yotsuya Sanchome. This restaurant specializes in crustaceans, and it can be a bit difficult to make a reservation. I had been looking forward to it for a while. When I arrived, they were kind enough to let me in before my reservation time. I decided to go for the course with a lot of shrimp, considering the season. The start was very good, with a cold consommé with striped shrimp, eggplant, and sashimi. These two dishes were quite delicious. However, after that, it felt like they were struggling to provide good value for the shrimp. It wasn't bad, but it seemed like they were trying too hard to meet high expectations. The disappointing part was the portion size and the rice dish at the end. When the rice dish came out, I didn't feel full yet. The rice dish was quite large, almost equivalent to three servings per person. They said I could take the leftovers home, but I decided to finish it. The first serving was delicious, but the second serving had fewer ingredients and a stronger rice flavor, and by the third serving, it was mostly just rice. I wished there was more crab mixed evenly throughout all three servings. Because my expectations were high, I was left feeling a bit disappointed. Thank you for the meal! The bill came out to around 17,000 yen, and the total time spent was less than 2 hours. Initially, I was surprised by the bill, but later found out that the tax and service charge were separate, which I didn't find very accommodating.

I was lucky enough to pick up a cancellation and dine at Ubuka, a crustacean cuisine restaurant in Yotsuya. While they don't serve expensive items like lobster or crab, the delicately crafted dishes were satisfying. The signature dish, shrimp miso fry, was a shrimp fry cooked with shrimp miso, which was unexpectedly delicious! The snow crab and zucchini rice dish had generous portions, and they even made onigiri with the leftovers. The service was just right, not too intrusive but attentive. Overall, the quality and quantity of the food were excellent, making it a great restaurant. The course menu for the day included: Appetizer: Cold crustacean consommé, Hassun: Shrimp, Tuna, Soup: Snow crab, Winter melon, Okra, Green yuzu, Main dish: Sweet shrimp, Peach, Chrysanthemum greens, Water shield, Vinegar, Grilled dish: Hairy crab, Eel, Kamo eggplant, Fried dish: Shrimp miso fry, Sansho tartar, Rice dish: Snow crab, Zucchini, Red miso soup: Tofu, Green onion, Mozuku seaweed, Sansho, Pickles: Red turnip, Daikon radish, Small melon, Salted kelp, Dessert: Golden roe emperor (Watermelon), Cointreau (Liqueur)
