I used to be a regular at this restaurant, but this time I had the chance to visit during lunchtime, around 1 pm, hoping to find an empty seat. When I entered the restaurant, I was confirmed to be dining alone and was guided by a male staff member to a table at the back of the large table. There was one more empty seat at the large table. There were many hooks on the wall, so I hung my jacket there. The oval table had 6 seats. The counter had 3 seats, making a total of 11 seats in the compact restaurant. As soon as I entered, two people left and two new customers arrived. The restaurant is famous for its katsudon, but since it was my first time, I decided to try the tonkatsu instead. I chose the special loin cutlet for 2,300 yen. At that time, there were no other customers dining. There were two women in the kitchen, which was unusual as there were no men in the kitchen. I was served tea, pickles, a wet towel, and chopsticks first. After 13 minutes, the tonkatsu, rice, and miso soup were served. As mentioned in previous reviews, the katsu and cabbage were served on a large plate with mustard and lemon on the side. The portion was quite generous. I prefer salt, so I requested some rock salt. The katsu appeared to be cooked well, but when I took the first bite, it lacked the excitement of a traditional loin cutlet. It was a refined loin cutlet. The cabbage was watery, the miso soup and rice were okay. I felt like the rice portion was small at first, but with the generous katsu serving, I didn't need a refill. I would like to try the katsudon next time. Payment is cash only. Thank you for the meal!
