I used it for lunch. There was only one customer, so it was very comfortable. The dumplings had a cinnamon scent, which was a new sensation and delicious. Personally, it was just average! The cost performance is good at 900 yen, so be sure to visit when you come to Iidabashi.

A popular Chinese restaurant in Iidabashi known for its Taiwanese-style dumplings. The dumpling skin is very chewy and filled with juicy meat, making it delicious. There are about 10 different types to choose from, which is fun. In addition to dumplings, I also ordered a dish called "songyun chi" and stir-fried leek and bean sprouts. The staff seemed very busy, probably because there weren't many of them for the size of the restaurant.

It was Sunday, so I called 30 minutes in advance to reserve a table and visited with 5 people. The food menu had a wide variety of options, and just looking at it was enjoyable. Some dishes had a strong flavor of spices like star anise and cinnamon, but they were delicious. Toppings included white leeks, grated garlic, and coriander, allowing for different flavor combinations. The dumplings with whole garlic inside were my favorite dish!

The staff was funny and straightforward, and the main dumplings had a unique filling with a cinnamon-like flavor. My favorite was the stick dumplings with shiso filling! Both the soup dumplings and regular dumplings had a chewy and delicious dough.

I went on a tour of the top 100 gyoza restaurants. This restaurant is located just a few minutes' walk from Iidabashi Station. On a holiday at 5:00 pm, I was able to enter without waiting. After about an hour, it was fully packed, so reservations may be necessary for the evening. The interior of the restaurant is small and has a cozy atmosphere. They also have a good selection of drinks, so you can enjoy without any pretense. I ordered the following items: - Black Dragon Gyoza (garlic) 4 pieces 484 yen - Shiso Stick Gyoza 132 yen - Quattro Mushroom Stick Gyoza 132 yen - Special Stick Gyoza 165 yen - Xiao Long Bao 4 pieces 632 yen - Rou Rou Stir-fried pork and bean sprouts 418 yen This restaurant offers not only gyoza but also a variety of Taiwanese appetizers, chicken dishes, tofu, vegetables, rice, and desserts!! You can easily enjoy a quick drink or a hearty meal here. The Black Dragon Gyoza has a grey skin that is chewy. It contains a crisp piece of garlic. The garlic flavor is strong but not overpowering, and it was delicious. The stick gyoza has a crispy thin outer layer. The shiso gyoza has plenty of shiso, giving it a rich flavor. The Quattro Mushroom has gooey cheese inside. The Special Gyoza has a whole shrimp inside, making it very luxurious!! The hot Xiao Long Bao is filled with plenty of collagen soup!! When you bite into it, an elegant umami flavor spreads throughout your mouth. I enjoyed it with ginger and black vinegar for a refreshing taste. The Rou Rou stir-fried pork and bean sprouts has plenty of chunky minced meat. The slightly sweet sauce makes the bean sprouts easy to eat! "Gyoza Top 100 Shops 2021-2023" is a gyoza restaurant located about a 10-minute walk from Kagurazaka Station. They offer the "Four Great Gyoza Set Meal" for ¥1,000 (tax included), which includes gyoza (white, green, celery, garlic), Lu Rou Fan (Taiwanese braised pork rice), soup, side dish, daily special dish, and rice.

Sometimes it's nice to have some unusual dumplings like these. I ordered three types of dumplings (black garlic, green celery, I think) but my favorite was the white one! It had a good kick of spices and was delicious. The black one had a whole clove of garlic in it which was surprising (^_^;)

I was drawn in by the sign of "Four Great Dumplings Set Meal (Chicken Rice Set)" at PAIRON Iidabashi Main Store. As I entered the restaurant, I felt like I was in a Chinese movie set. During lunchtime, the main menu consists of dumplings and dim sum set meals. The menu on the wall showed a variety of appetizers as well, making it a good place for both lunch and drinking. Orders are made through a ticket vending machine at the entrance. Since dumplings are their specialty and I wanted to try different kinds, I ordered the Four Great Dumplings Set Meal with a choice of chicken rice or lo mein, opting for the large rice portion. First, a side dish, soup, and cold tofu were served, followed by the chicken rice and then the dumplings. The dumplings were served in a plate of 6 pieces, with 2 each of white and green dumplings. The dumplings had thick, chewy skin with plenty of juicy filling inside. Each dumpling had its own unique flavor profile, with the green dumplings being my favorite. The chicken rice was lighter in flavor compared to the lo mein, making it easier to eat for those who are not fans of strong spices. The side dish of spiced stir-fried chicken with okra and aromatic vegetables was enjoyable to nibble on, and the cold tofu was a refreshing addition. The egg soup had a rich base and was well-seasoned. Opting for the large rice portion kept the total cost under 1000 yen, which was a great deal considering the current high prices. The restaurant also offers a diverse menu for dinner, so I look forward to coming back for drinks. Overall, it was a satisfying meal experience.

I went at 6 o'clock on a weekday, and they said it's okay to stay until 7 o'clock for a one-hour food fight! After 7 o'clock, it was fully booked with reservations. I was relieved! I tried four types of grilled dumplings, stick dumplings, red bean dumplings, and soup dumplings. The chewy texture and generous filling surprised me, and the cinnamon aroma spread in my mouth, making me happy in an instant. Oh, it was really delicious. The spicy dumplings were truly spicy, but for those who like spicy food, it's an irresistible dish. The garlic dumplings had surprisingly large garlic pieces, and the taste was addictive. The atmosphere of the restaurant was also nice, and I can understand why it's so popular.

I had been curious about Pylon, known for its spiced-up dumplings. It took about a 15-minute walk from Iidabashi. The restaurant was small, but I got lucky and found a seat without waiting around 7:30 PM. There was a unique smell when I entered the place, but once I started drinking beer, I didn't notice it anymore. The Pylon dumplings did have a hint of cinnamon, but they were surprisingly easy to eat. The skin was thick, about 1-2 millimeters, but chewy. They were completely different from any dumplings I had before. The Green Dragon dumplings had a strong chive aroma and were juicy. Some were so juicy that they burst when you bit into them, while others had the juices sealed inside the meat. There was a bit of inconsistency, but overall, be careful of the juicy fillings. I also enjoyed the half-cooked egg with star anise flavor, dried tofu, and egg over rice with chili oil. What was disappointing was being told it was last order after about an hour. It was only 10 PM, and the closing time was 11 PM. Even though I could have left, I followed their instructions and left feeling unsatisfied. I wondered if they wanted to make room for a group of 6 customers who arrived later. The food was not bad, but I didn't leave in a good mood. I later found out there is another Pylon branch in Ichigaya, so I realized I didn't need to walk all the way from Iidabashi.

Located a little away from the station in Shinjuku-ku, Shinkogawamachi, there is a Chinese restaurant called PAIRON. This restaurant specializes in dumplings and was selected as one of the top 100 dumpling shops in 2019 and 2021. While their lunch menu is popular, their evening menu is also well-received for enjoying drinks, so I arrived around 7:00 pm. For lunch, you purchase meal tickets from a vending machine, but in the evening, you can order directly from the menu. I ordered the following items: White Dragon Dumplings (Pork) @451, Black Dragon Dumplings (Garlic) @484, Lu Rou Fan (Pork Rice) @748, Appetizer (Cabbage) @220, and Draft Beer @594. When ordering the White Dragon Dumplings, you are asked if you prefer them grilled. There are options for grilled, boiled, or steamed. Grilled seems to be the most popular, so I ordered them grilled. It takes a little while for the food to arrive. The dumplings were as expected, with a juicy filling inside the chewy skin. However, aside from the shape, there was nothing particularly outstanding about them, just delicious dumplings. The Black Dragon Dumplings with garlic were my personal favorite. The Lu Rou Fan was tasty, but it seemed like there was too much rice compared to the filling. When I arrived, the restaurant was not crowded, but people who had made reservations started coming in one after another. I recommend arriving early or making a reservation. The restaurant can seat around 30 people, but it's quite small. I stopped by to have a drink. Beer with dumplings is the best! Even though it's Chinese cuisine, it was run by Indonesian staff. It's popular and crowded, as seen on Instagram. It seems better to make a phone reservation before going. The soup dumplings were juicy and very delicious. There are many other types of dumplings, so I might try them next time.

This shop is a bit far from Iidabashi Station, but the taste is addictive and makes you want to come back regularly. This time, three of us arrived at opening time and ordered the all-you-can-drink option. After eating the gyoza, the alcohol goes down smoothly, so if you plan to drink more than 4 cups, the all-you-can-drink option is a good deal. I recommend the special gyoza with chive and stick gyoza. I personally like the Hakuryu gyoza, but some people may have mixed feelings about the unique cinnamon scent.

I finished my lunch errands and entered the restaurant feeling refreshed. The interior has 6 counter seats, 2 tables for 2, and 2 tables for 4. I sat at the counter and ordered the Four Great Dumplings Set for 1,000 yen. The four great dumplings included 2 pork dumplings, 2 chive dumplings, 1 garlic dumpling, and 1 celery dumpling. For lunch, all sets come with rice, soup, a small dish, and the dish of the day. For an additional 100 yen, you can upgrade to braised pork rice or chicken rice. I chose the braised pork rice. As always, a restaurant with many female customers tends to be delicious. Currently, the restaurant is filled with female customers only. After ordering, soup, a small dish, and the dish of the day were served, followed by the braised pork rice and dumplings. The table was full of dishes, making it hard to tell what the main dish was. The main dumplings had thick skins with a chewy texture. The pork dumplings were seasoned with unique spices and were delicious. The chive dumplings were large and had a good chive flavor. The garlic dumpling had half a clove of garlic inside, making it a true garlic dumpling. The set came with many small dishes, making it a very good deal. It was a satisfying meal.

The skin is quite thick but crispy and the filling inside is firm. - Blue Dragon Dumplings (451 yen) with leeks. Tasty with a strong leek flavor! - Black Dragon Dumplings (484 yen) with garlic. Packs a punch and delicious! Personally, I liked the Black Dragon the best.

I visited Pylon after a long time. I arrived at 11:35 am on Friday, alone. The weather was drizzling. There were 4 customers ahead of me, but 2 of them were waiting for takeout orders. I purchased a meal ticket for the "Four Big Dumplings & Dim Sum Set with Lu Rou Fan or Chicken Rice" at the ticket machine for 1400 yen. I specified "Lu Rou Fan" when handing the ticket to the staff. It took about 20 minutes for the dim sum to arrive, quite a wait. The set meal included soup, 2 side dishes, Lu Rou Fan, and dim sum, quite a lavish spread. The dim sum and Lu Rou Fan were delicious, with a great blend of spices. The Four Big Dumplings arrived 2 minutes after the dim sum. I wanted to take a picture of all the dishes together, but oh well (laughs). The dumplings had a variety of flavors like coriander and cinnamon, all tasty! I couldn't resist and ordered some Green Dragon Dumplings and Xiao Long Bao for my wife to take out. I finished eating in a few minutes as the restaurant started to get crowded, so I waited outside for the takeout order. It took longer than the promised 10 minutes, about 20 minutes. Both staff members were foreigners, and there seemed to be some confusion in the order, resulting in 2 types of fried dumplings instead of one. I was told I didn't have to take the extra "White Dragon Dumplings," but I decided to purchase them anyway to avoid wasting delicious dumplings. The total came to 1534 yen, paid in cash. Overall, the dumplings and dim sum were very delicious. I would rate it 3.5 based solely on the satisfaction of the food (dine-in). I did not deduct points for the service. Thank you for the meal.

The black dumplings with garlic at this place called Hakuryu (Pylon) are delicious! It's a bit of a walk from JR Iidabashi Station. It was crowded around 6 pm on weekends, but we were able to get in without a reservation. The Hakuryu dumplings have a unique flavor with eight spices, while the black dragon dumplings are slightly larger with soy sauce-marinated garlic inside. Both had a chewy skin.

It is located quite a walk from Iidabashi Station, entering a residential area. I wasn't confident about going without my phone. The signature dish, White Dragon (Pylon) Gyoza, has a chewy skin and juicy meat filling. It has a unique flavor with perhaps star anise in it. It was delicious. The Black Dragon Gyoza is marinated in garlic soy sauce with minced garlic for a crunchy texture and a strong garlic flavor, which was amazing. The stick gyoza allows you to choose from mushroom, leek, and seafood flavors, so you can enjoy a variety of tastes. Thank you for the meal.

Delicious, but it fell far below my expectations. Compared to the gyoza from top 100 restaurants that I have had before, it felt lacking. I am quite picky about gyoza, and the chewy skin was a downside for me. The slightly sweet skin took away from the true flavor of the gyoza. Other dishes besides the gyoza were honestly nothing special, with dishes like mapo tofu and oil-splashed chicken being a bit disappointing. The cabbage served as a side dish was exceptional though. Overall, I probably won't be going back.
