I visited the usual Ippudo Gotanda Higashiguchi branch for lunch. Lately, there have been a lot of spicy ramen options, so today I ordered the Akamaru Shinaji for the first time in a while. I also used a free coupon for an extra serving of noodles. With the premium coupon, the Akamaru was only 550 yen! It was a great deal, and I left feeling very satisfied.

Today, I felt like having ramen for lunch, so I visited Ippudo Gotanda Higashiguchi store for the second time this week. I ordered the Akamaru Kasane ramen with normal spiciness and extra firm noodles. The usual price is 990 yen, but with a premium coupon, I got it for 550 yen! Such a great deal! I found it spicier than usual and ended up coughing a bit, but it was still delicious!

[Nearest Station] Gotanda Station → 2 minutes on foot
[Today's Order]
- Special White Maru ¥1,290 (tax included) → (Noodle Firmness) Firm
- Kaedama (extra noodles) ¥150 (tax included) → (Noodle Firmness) Soft
I have been a fan of Ippudo for over a decade. The consistent and delicious taste has always been a go-to for me when I crave ramen. However, I always order the same thing - the Special White Maru! I love the light tonkotsu broth. My go-to order is starting with firm noodles and adding kaedama with soft noodles. It's a classic order for me!
Since it's a chain restaurant, I can enjoy the same taste no matter which location I visit. The convenience is great. I was pleasantly surprised to find out that this Gotanda location, and perhaps all locations, now offer mobile ordering! It's become common after the pandemic, but it's a great advantage to order without worrying about the staff.
Additionally, the famous "spicy bean sprouts" that used to be on the table are now self-service! It's a sign of the times. I love spicy bean sprouts even more than ramen, so I've had multiple refills in the past!
The restaurant has plenty of seating, so it's convenient to get a seat without waiting. I'll definitely be back! Thank you for the meal! Ahh~.

I visited Ichiran Gotanda Higashiguchi store for lunch. I ordered the Karaage Ramen with medium spiciness, which I haven't had in a while. I also ordered the Gyoza Half because it was free with the summer coupon. The Karaage Ramen had a nice level of spiciness and was delicious, and the Gyoza was a good size and tasty too! Coupons are always a nice bonus.

I had ramen at Ichiran for the first time in a while. In a word, it was extremely reliable. I ordered the white pork chashu, wood ear mushroom topping, rice, and gyoza. I think I might have ordered too much. The best thing about this place is that they have counter seats at different heights, which is quite considerate. The distance between seats is also good. The touch panel for ordering is easy to understand and use. Self-service items like pickled mustard greens, bean sprouts, and red pickled ginger are hygienically prepared. As for the ramen itself, it has a stable and universally appealing taste. The chashu is good, and the crunchy texture of the wood ear mushrooms is delightful. The soup is rich but not overpowering, and it goes well with the rice. The gyoza is decent, but the presentation is messy, which is a downside. Apart from that, they provide an excellent lunch. They deserve even higher ratings. Chain restaurants are often underrated, but maintaining this level of quality is truly impressive. There are similar restaurants out there, but I definitely prefer Ichiran. If you come across an Ichiran, I highly recommend giving it a try. Thank you for the meal.

Sometimes you just crave Ichiran, right? I ordered the Vegetable Akamaru for 1240 yen, which is quite pricey. While waiting, I enjoyed the free toppings of takana, spicy bean sprouts, and pickled ginger. It only took about 5 minutes for my order to arrive. The tonkotsu broth had a rich flavor with a subtle kick, and the marinated egg and spicy miso added a nice touch. There were plenty of vegetables in the bowl, all of which were well cleaned and had no strong flavors. From the free toppings to the last bite, you could really feel the Ichiran experience. In that sense, I think it's a well-executed dish. Thank you for the meal.

The deliciousness of stability. The soup has a moderate garlic aroma and a sweet taste. It's nice that you can freely add toppings like pickled mustard greens, red ginger, and bean sprouts. It's been a while since I had the spicy bean sprouts and rooibos tea that are signature dishes of Ichiran, and I'm satisfied. It seems you can get a refill of rice.

The Hakata tonkotsu set meal has been removed from the menu, so this time I had to order it as a single item. The set meal was just the right amount and price, so personally, it was a tough change in terms of cost and the time it takes to finish the meal. I hope the set meal will make a comeback.

I have been to Ippudo many times and I am a heavy user. I went to the Gotanda branch for the first time, and I found it easy to order using the tablet. I usually order the mentaiko rice set, but I was surprised to see that they also have fried rice at Ippudo. I decided to try it, and it did not disappoint. It was delicious and paired perfectly with the tonkotsu ramen. I would love to eat it again someday. ❤️

Order: Special White Maru Ramen: 1,180 yen
Half Fried Rice Set: 320 yen
Total: 1,500 yen (including tax)
Lunch Evaluation:
Speed of service: Average (within 10 minutes)
Variety of menu: Average
Cost performance: Slightly higher price range for a large chain store
Overall Comment:
If you want to eat classic tonkotsu ramen, you can't go wrong with Ippudo! I had it for the first time in a while, and it's still delicious! While there are many new variations of Hakata ramen like Neo Tonkotsu Ramen, Ippudo remains a reliable and stable choice. It feels like the original Hakata ramen. With its classic taste, you can't go wrong. It offers a sense of security and consistent quality.

I visited Ichiran Gotanda Higashiguchi branch for lunch. I ordered the Akamaru Shinaji ramen for 920 yen, but with a premium coupon, it was only 550 yen. The bean sprouts used to be on the table, but now they have been moved near the entrance where you can take as much as you want. This change made me happy! The ramen was as delicious as always. I will definitely be going back!

Musashi Koyama store has been lacking someone who can make fried rice since last year, so I haven't been going to Ippudo much. But I really wanted to eat ramen and fried rice, so I went there. Both the fried rice and ramen were delicious as always. ★ Hakata Tonkotsu Set Meal with Egg 1,120 yen. Green onion topping.

It seems crowded around 19:30 on weekdays, but there were available seats to order from. I ordered the original ramen with extra noodles and gyoza. It came out in about 3 minutes. The tonkotsu broth was light and went down smoothly. The noodles were thin, which seemed easy to digest. The total cost for just this meal was close to 1500 yen, so preferences may vary. I felt like there was a bit less noodles, but overall, it was a satisfying meal. Thank you.

Winter is the season when you start craving ramen. Due to the cold weather, I went to Ippudo, which is close to the station. I ordered the B set menu with half a portion of Hakata tonkotsu ramen and fried rice with egg for 1120 yen. The tonkotsu ramen, which I hadn't had in a while, was rich and delicious. I enjoyed changing the flavor halfway through with pickled ginger and mustard greens.

I'm not a fan of tonkotsu broth, but I find myself craving Ichiran ramen regularly. The soup is light and easy to drink, and I love the thin noodles. I understand why it's so popular. I went during lunch on a weekday and there were a few people waiting in line, but it moves quickly so you can get in soon. The restaurant has table seating and counter seating. The customers are diverse, but I feel like there are more foreigners and women compared to other ramen shops. The interior is clean and when you sit down, you order using a touch panel. I added a flavored egg topping which cost a total of 930 yen. They provide tea in a pitcher on the table, and it has a taste similar to rooibos tea, which is delicious. They accept cashless payment and cash. The staff here are friendly and cheerful!

The restaurant is located in a building about a 2-minute walk from JR Gotanda Station. The interior has a mix of counter and table seating, making it easy for both individuals and large groups to dine. I ordered the ramen, rice, and gyoza set this time. While waiting, you can enjoy the spicy bean sprouts on the table, which is a nice touch! A few minutes later, the dishes arrived. You can ask the staff for free toppings like pickled ginger, pickled mustard greens, and garlic for your ramen! The gentle pork bone soup and thin noodles are a perfect match! The small gyoza and rice also complement each other, turning into a fantastic dinner! Thank you for the meal.

Visited Ippudo Gotanda Higashiguchi with my junior for lunch. Ordered the limited-time revival Shoyu Tonkotsu Ramen (980 yen) and of course added white rice. The tonkotsu broth was delicious, just like the usual Ippudo soup! It was a shame that the premium coupon couldn't be used for this menu...

Located on the second floor of a building connected to the pedestrian bridge in front of Gotanda Station. Lunchtime is almost over and I don't have much time, so when that happens, I like to go to Ichiran. Looking at my past history, it seems like I always order the red level. Since it's lunchtime, I skip the garlic and beer.

It's been a while since I had Ichiran. I wanted something spicy so I got the Extreme Spicy level with extra firm noodles. It seemed spicier this time, almost like an ethnic spice that tickles the nose. I remember they used to have limited edition items, but it doesn't seem like that anymore. I feel like Ichiran was tastier in the past... Maybe it's just this branch?

Today, I felt like eating ramen so I went to Ippudo near the station! I went around 3 pm on Monday and the restaurant was about half full. I was seated at a table and ordered 5 gyoza + Shiro Maru ramen + white rice for 990 yen using the touch panel for ordering, which felt modern. Due to COVID measures, only hot bean sprouts were placed on the table. While nibbling on the bean sprouts, I waited for the ramen for about 5 minutes. I thought Shiro Maru ramen was surprisingly light. Being from Hakata, I felt a bit unsatisfied and added some garlic and pickled mustard greens. Garlic is so delicious, I wonder why. The pickled mustard greens had just the right amount of spiciness. The thin straight noodles were very easy to eat and went down smoothly. The gyoza was not crispy but soft and one-bite style. The red chili pepper served with the gyoza was a nice touch and tasty. Overall, it was delicious but as someone from Kyushu, I prefer a more punchy tonkotsu broth. It's purely a matter of personal preference though. Thank you for the meal!
