The last Shanghai crab of the year, marinated in aged liquor!!! It's always delicious and enjoyable. My local friends from Shinjuku wanted to try it, so we came to visit. They were quite surprised and impressed. Looking forward to visiting again next year! :)

I entered the restaurant before 13:30 on a Friday holiday, and since the lunchtime was until 15:00, there were plenty of empty seats in the restaurant. I ordered the mapo tofu set from the holiday lunch menu, and it was delicious. At first, it didn't seem spicy, but as I continued eating, I started sweating from my head.

Slow lunch at Ranran Sakaba. Sichuan Mapo Tofu in a clay pot for 1800 yen, and Black Pork Grilled Gyoza for 440 yen for 2 pieces. Although I ordered them separately, they were served together like a set. The bubbling hot Sichuan Mapo Tofu had a rich flavor and a moderate level of spiciness with a numbing sensation. It was even more delicious when eaten with rice! The gyoza was also tasty, with a thick and chewy skin and flavorful filling. A very satisfying lunch. Thank you for the meal.

The dumplings were incredibly delicious! In addition to that, we also ordered yuba spring rolls, shrimp mayo, braised pork, red snapper with hot oil, stir-fried greens, and fried rice, all of which were delicious, but the dumplings stood out as the most delicious. Personally, the taste, thickness of the skin, cooking level, and texture were all perfect!! I want to go back just to eat the dumplings.

I used it for dinner. When I ordered a Shaoxing wine menu, the Shaoxing wine was too strong, so I had to pass on it. The fried rice was delicious. The dumplings seem to be famous. Since they only serve dumplings for lunch, it's quite a good deal to come for fried rice only at night. LOL

#Chinese #Hatsudai [Local long-established high-class Chinese restaurant] Surrounded by chain stores like Gyoza no Ohsho and Hidakaya, I had a slightly upscale Chinese lunch. This time, I ordered Tianjin rice and 2 dumplings. Tianjin rice comes with salad, soup, and oshinko, very luxurious! The dumplings were huge and filled with meat, absolutely delicious. I left the restaurant feeling very full!

After watching "Overlord," I made a reservation and visited with two friends after a long time. It was around 6 pm on Saturday, but when we arrived at the restaurant, it was full with reservations written on the sign. We started with a refreshing draft beer to quench our thirst. We ordered some dumplings to start, but it was disappointing that they only had high-end dumplings with shark fin. It would be nice if they had regular dumplings for the common people. Next, we had the crispy and elegant oil-splashed chicken, with a not too sweet vinegar sauce on the crispy skin. The inside was soft and steamed. We enjoyed some Shaoxing wine with it. Then we tried the classic Sichuan mapo tofu in a clay pot. It was spicy but not too overwhelming, with a rich and delicious flavor. It went really well with rice. Finally, we had the dan dan noodles to finish off the meal. It wasn't extremely spicy, but had a flavorful and rich soup with thin noodles. It was delicious.

When I visited Tokyo Opera City, I went to Ranran Shuka in Hatsudai for the first time. When I go to a Chinese restaurant, I usually order the same mapo tofu set meal. The mapo tofu here is not the spicy red kind I prefer, but it is very delicious. It was also quite filling.

The shop is spacious and clean, and the staff are all friendly. The recommended specialty gyoza had a hint of miso in it, which made it delicious when perfectly cooked. The jellyfish appetizer was also tasty with a unique seasoning. The five-ingredient yakisoba was delicious with the thin noodles coated well with oil but still light. The turtle soup had plenty of firm meat and enough essence, and it was a great deal. To celebrate their 50th anniversary, we were given complimentary drinks. It's a shop where you can understand why it's loved by customers.

On both weekdays and weekends, during both lunch and dinner, there are always many customers. I had been passing by thinking it must be delicious, and finally decided to visit. The oil-drizzled chicken set meal was not the typical greasy town Chinese food, but had a refreshing sauce with aromatic vegetables, not too heavy. The dumplings were filled with plenty of vegetables, with a firm skin and a satisfying volume. Since the daily special set meal changes constantly, it seems like a place where I wouldn't get tired of visiting. I would like to go back again.

Hatsudai Ranran Restaurant. As a chubby person who loves Chinese food, this was a place I wanted to visit. It seems to be the 50th anniversary of the opening, as there were flowers displayed. I had the following dishes: - Shrimp and pork minced meat with egg in chili sauce - Black pork pan-fried dumplings. The pan-fried dumplings are a bit pricey at 440 yen for 2 pieces, but I decided to try them. The chili sauce had no spiciness, but a nice flavor. The dumplings were large and delicious. The staff seemed a bit careless, which was a bit concerning. They seemed to prioritize themselves when it came to payment. They also didn't engage much with customers. Apart from the service, there were no other significant issues. It's a typical Chinese restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

This is my first visit to this long-standing famous restaurant, and it's true that everything I tried was delicious. I really like how straightforward it is. The à la carte menu is quite extensive, and if this place were near my home, I would definitely be a regular customer. The mapo tofu with monkfish liver was especially delicious!

There is a long-established Chinese restaurant that has been around since 1972, located near Hatagaya Station, making it easy to visit. The spacious interior seems quite welcoming, and it appears that the clientele tends to be slightly older even on holidays, with many locals frequenting the restaurant. I ordered the Holiday Lunch special, which included shrimp and minced pork with egg in chili sauce (1300 yen). The chili sauce had a mild spiciness that was easy for anyone to enjoy. The meal also came with a side dish of potatoes wrapped in mentaiko sauce, pickles, vegetables, and soup as part of the set menu.

I came to Hatsudai for some errands, so I decided to have lunch before heading back! I went to Ran Ran Sakaya, a place I had been curious about before! It's just a short walk from Hatsudai Station South Exit towards the Koshu Kaido side! The entrance of the restaurant seemed narrow at first, but as I went further in, there were two spacious areas with table seats, creating a calm atmosphere! I was torn between the daily Holiday Lunch Set and the Black Pork Grilled Dumplings Set (1300 yen) from the lunch menu, and I ended up ordering the latter! It was described as one of Ran Ran Sakaya's signature dishes turned into a lunch set! It came with a small dish, rice, soup, salad, and 4 dumplings! The soup had a Chinese-style consomme flavor! The dumplings were quite large in size, and each one was juicy and delicious! While the price might be a bit higher compared to typical street dumplings, these were well-made dumplings! They also offer dumplings as a side menu with 2 pieces for 440 yen! The Sichuan Mapo Tofu served in a clay pot is another one of their specialties that caught my interest, so I would like to revisit the place again in the future! (● ˃̶͈̀ロ˂̶͈́)੭ꠥ⁾⁾

We visited the restaurant with 8 family members. The restaurant is located in a small alley off the Hatsudai shopping street, and it holds special memories for me as I used to come here as a child to eat fukahire tsuyu soba. My mother used to love this place so much that we even used to order delivery from here. This time, with a large group, we were able to order various dishes to share and had a delicious and enjoyable time. The two appetizers were both delicious, with the winter bamboo shoots and rock seaweed stir-fry standing out. The black wagyu beef and pickled cabbage stew had a stimulating flavor from the green Sichuan pepper and the beef was very tender, warming us from the inside out. I personally enjoy spicy food, so I liked it, but some family members who are not good with spicy food found it a bit too much. The dumplings were large and had a chewy skin wrapping juicy filling, which we all loved. They are a bit pricey, but my husband said they were the best dumplings he had ever eaten. My sister who lives nearby and can get takeout dumplings occasionally is very lucky. The fried chicken was crispy and paired well with the sweet onion sauce. The scallops in oyster sauce were delicious in a classic way. However, the most impressive dish this time was the Shanghai-style braised pork shin in soy sauce. It reminded me of a collagen-rich oxtail dish, with the meat easily coming off the bone and the skin being tender and not too fatty, with a sweet and rich flavor. My 4-year-old niece wanted more of the tender skin. I forgot to take photos of the steamed shrimp dumplings and xiaolongbao, but they were both delicious. At this point, my mother ordered more dumplings. The five-ingredient sauce yakisoba had a strong seafood flavor in the sauce, which was a pleasant surprise. The five-ingredient fried rice had pine nuts as a special touch, with shrimp and char siu mixed in, giving it a fragrant taste. The fukahire and crab tsuyu soba had a refined sauce that coated the noodles well, satisfying our taste buds. I remember that it didn't use to have crab in it before, and personally, I think it would have been fine without the crab flavor. As I ate, I was reminded of the nostalgic memory of burning the roof of my mouth while savoring the hot sauce and noodles. I would love to visit this restaurant again when I go back home. I will have the chicken white broth noodles with boiled egg for 1,100 yen for lunch this week. It's before 12 pm on a weekday. For solo diners, please go to the right side of the entrance. For multiple guests, please go to the banquet corner on the left. The chicken white broth noodles have a chewy texture. The soup is filled with plenty of Chinese cabbage, and I'm not sure where the yellow color comes from, but it has a gentle and satisfying taste. At first, it seemed a bit unreliable, but the soup has depth to it. The plump chicken meat is delicious. The seasoned boiled egg is also flavorful. The lunch includes salad, a little bit of rice, and pickles, all for 1,100 yen. Maybe the default 1,100 yen soup noodle series is also good. The single order of shrimp soba was popular. It's the opposite of authentic Chinese cuisine, more like a genuine Chinese experience. It's a gem in Hatsudai, haha.

I visited this restaurant for lunch. There were mooncakes near the entrance, so I assumed it was a authentic Chinese restaurant. I sat at a table in a space with narrow hallway. Their famous dishes are dumplings and mapo tofu, but since mapo tofu was not on the lunch menu, I ordered the dumpling set meal for 1,100 yen. My girlfriend also ordered the same. The dumplings were four in total. They were not as big as those from Tenryu, Taikoro, or Shoryu, but they were quite large. The cooking was excellent. The outside was crispy, and when you bite into it, the meat juice bursts out. There were also vegetables inside, but the meat ratio was high. It seems they use black pork. The seasoning was only soy sauce, chili oil, and vinegar, with no white pepper. The dumplings were of high quality and delicious, so I ate them quickly. However, I was honestly disappointed by the other lineup that was not authentic Chinese, such as burdock and carrot salad with mayonnaise, egg and seaweed soup, pickles. If it's over a thousand yen, I would have liked one more dumpling. I thought the cost performance was not great.

I was in charge of choosing the restaurant since I am familiar with the area, so we went to "Ran Ran Shuka" which I always recommend in this neighborhood. The restaurant was quite busy, but we managed to get a table just as one became available. Personally, I think the dumplings at this restaurant are excellent, so I ordered the dumpling set. ▪️Black Pork Pan-Fried Dumplings Set 1,300 yen The food arrived relatively quickly, in about 10 minutes. The dumplings were large, and had a rich flavor, so I enjoyed the first one without any seasoning, and then added vinegar soy sauce for the rest. These dumplings can also be added as an extra menu item to other set meals (in that case, they are served in sets of 2). My colleagues also gave high ratings to the dumplings. This restaurant also has a sommelier, and offers a selection of wines by the glass, making it a bit more upscale than your average Chinese restaurant, but still casual and approachable. It has finally begun! The long-awaited season of Shanghai crab! I was a little late to the game, but I visited Ranran Sakeya in Hatsudai. - Shanghai crab marinated in Shaoxing wine, no mistake about it ♡ I want about 5 more servings of this - Tiger salad with coriander, spicy and addictive flavor - Stir-fried maitake mushrooms and squid with XO sauce. This season, maitake mushrooms are a must-try. - Steamed Shanghai crab (male). It was perfect timing as the male crabs had just started. They skillfully prepared it in front of us and I enjoyed the rich flavor of the male crab. - Shanghai crab miso and sea cucumber stew. A perfect combination ♡ Even though they didn't have blue shark that day, the miso of the Shanghai crab combined with sea cucumber created a rich flavor. - Finally, stir-fried Taiwanese pea sprouts with garlic. These pea sprouts have a slight bitterness and a firm texture, different from Japanese pea sprouts. The highly anticipated Shanghai crab did not disappoint. It was a night of happiness filled with Shanghai crab dishes. They will be available until December. Thank you for the wonderful meal!
