I enjoyed the flavors of early autumn such as fresh squid, ikura, and steamed egg custard. I also indulged in the Murasaki sea urchin from Tosawa Fisheries. It was delicious...I wanted another one but I already ate half of the crab roll, so I had to resist the temptation due to the carbs. I also had the classic eel skewers, angler liver, and kelp with plenty of highballs. Thank you for the feast.

Yusushi@Higashi-Fuchu Station is a bit of a walk. I was seated at a table and it was very calming. The atmosphere feels like a shop loved by locals, and the dishes and sushi were delicious! The squid was surprisingly delicious! The sea urchin was also delicious and made me happy. The sense of the dishes was good too. The sake was also delicious.

I was taken to this sushi restaurant by a senior for the first time. It was my first time at a sushi restaurant where the prices were not written, so I was a little nervous when entering... There was no menu, and we ordered based on the ingredients and how we wanted to eat, which made me feel a bit grown-up. The dishes were all delicious and I was constantly impressed! They served the dishes at a pace that matched our eating speed, and the thoughtfulness of the chef was wonderful. The restaurant had a cozy atmosphere with only a few seats, but the counter was full of regular customers' reservations, so by the time we all gathered, it became very lively. I would love to visit again. Thank you for a wonderful time!

Yusushi @ Higashifuchu, Fuchu City, Tokyo @ Located north from Higashifuchu Station on the Keio Line, along Heiwa Street lined with trees, and about 200m on the left after crossing the Koshu Kaido, is a long-standing sushi restaurant. It has been in business for 56 years. In fact, it is a restaurant that my family used to visit frequently during the previous generation, but for some reason, we drifted away and it has been 6-7 years since our last visit. The reason I remembered it was because a friend told me it was good. Inside the restaurant, as you enter, there is a white wooden counter, and at the back on the right, there is a space with tatami flooring that is slightly elevated, with two 4-seater tables and two 6-seater tables in a black-themed setting. This space was renovated a few years ago. As a COVID-19 measure, the windows are open. The previous owner passed away 6 years ago, and his son has taken over. The restaurant has never had a lunch menu and only operates with a grand menu. The nigiri sushi is available in three levels: ¥2,000, ¥2,500, ¥3,000, and there is one chirashi sushi option for ¥2,500. It is a restaurant where regular customers enjoy their meals as they like. I chose the chirashi sushi for ¥2,500 (excluding tax). The elegant black dish is divided in the middle, with vinegared rice and toppings suitable for a bowl on one side, including sea urchin, salmon roe, crab, whitebait, simmered eel, and kanpyo, and on the other side, daikon radish, shiso leaf, and myoga are laid out, with fatty tuna, white fish, and tamagoyaki placed on top. The toppings, including fatty tuna, horse mackerel, Japanese horse mackerel, seared flatfish, simmered eel, shredded crab, salmon roe, sea urchin, raw whitebait, sweet shrimp, and tamagoyaki, are all fresh and delicious. The vinegared rice was a bit too sweet and sour for my taste, but the deliciousness was outstanding. It was mentioned that there was a reservation after my visit, and a sign indicating that preparations were underway, but when I peeked in, I was warmly welcomed. The only other customer was a lone daytime drinker. I was able to enjoy my lunch leisurely. During my stay, there were many reservation calls, so I feel that reservations are essential for dinner. Recommended ★★★★★ Parking: None, nearby coin parking available Visit date: 2020-08-07 Lunch hours: Yes Takeout: Unknown Regular holiday: Operating hours: 11:00-14:00 17:00-23:00 Smoking: Completely non-smoking Credit cards: Accepted Electronic money: Not accepted Point cards: None Free WiFi: No in-house WiFi Power outlets at the seats: None Likelihood of revisiting: High Note: There was a notice about credit cards being accepted for purchases over ¥10,000, but it was OK this time.

The staff at this restaurant are very friendly and make you feel comfortable, so you can drink without worry. Each dish is thoughtfully prepared, so there are many pleasant surprises. They offer a wide variety of dishes, so it's highly recommended for those who like to try different things. It would be great if they could stay open for another hour for those who want to stay a bit later. I would love to visit this restaurant again when the seasons change.

On this day, we had a BBQ in the afternoon and then visited this restaurant for our second round. I live in Fuchu, but this was my first time visiting. I had seen some information about the restaurant beforehand, so I was excited to check it out. The location is about a 4-5 minute walk from Higashi Fuchu Station on the Keio Line, just across from the Koshu Kaido, so it's easy to find. There are no steps at the entrance, so it's easy to get in. When you enter the restaurant, there is a counter seat right in front of you, and if you go to the right, there are table seats on a raised platform. Since it was a Sunday, the restaurant was bustling with activity. We had made a reservation and were seated in the back on the raised platform. As for the menu, we left the food selection to the regular customers this time. For drinks, they had a variety of options including beer, sake, shochu, sour, highball, wine, etc. I started with a highball. As we were enjoying our drinks, some appetizers were served. On this day, it was seaweed salad. Since I don't eat shellfish, I passed it on to others. Next, we had a sashimi platter. It included fatty tuna, bonito, octopus, herring roe, whale, whelk, and scallop. The sashimi was delicious. Then, we received grilled eel with grated radish as a snack. It's nice to have such options on the menu. After that, we had quite a bit to drink, including white wine and various other drinks. We ended the meal with sushi and called it a night. The sashimi and eel were both excellent, but the sushi was the highlight. I'll make sure to take some photos next time I visit.

This sushi restaurant is not only known for its fresh fish sushi, but also for the variety of delicious appetizers that complement the fish. There are so many tasty appetizers that you may wonder if you'll ever get to the sushi, but they all pair perfectly with drinks. You can enjoy chatting with the friendly chef while picking your favorite fish to snack on, and finish with some delicious sushi. It's the kind of place you'd want to visit every week, wishing it were closer to your home. Sitting at the counter is recommended.

The best sushi restaurant in the Tama region where I have been going for 20 years. I always order the assorted sashimi platter, eel skewers, and grilled blowfish milt.

I went there for the first time and the chef was kind enough to explain everything to me! The salt-grilled heads and tails of the shrimp, and the grilled fugu shirako were incredibly delicious! The sake went down smoothly, haha.

I had drifted apart from this place for about 10 years due to work relationships, but by chance, I visited again after a long time! As always, it was a flawless restaurant. I enjoyed the seasonal delicacies like new shad, homemade karasumi, kombu with young fish, and my favorite abalone grilled on the shore. I ended up eating 4 cups of Black Dragon sake. The golden eye snapper sushi was delicious. It was delicious, fun, and unforgettable! It was an amazing day. I can't wait to make a reservation and visit again. Everyone, please check it out!

Sushi restaurant located along Heiwa Street, straight from Higashi-Fuchu Station towards Fuchu no Mori Geijutsu Gekijo. The restaurant has a traditional atmosphere with a solid presence. It is highly rated on Tabelog in Fuchu City. As there is no lunch menu, I decided to try their set menu during lunchtime. The restaurant has a counter with 12 seats in front, and tatami seating on the right side with two 4-seat tables and two 6-seat tables. Behind the counter, there is an elderly master and a stern young master. They speak respectfully to each other, so they may not be father and son. In the hall, there is a beautiful young female manager. At the center of the counter, two elderly ladies who seem to be regulars are enjoying sashimi and drinks. When I tried to take off my coat, the young female manager kindly took it and hung it in what seemed like a locker. The service here is truly commendable. I was given a warm and fluffy towel at the counter and while wiping my hands, there was a moment of silence. "Oh, I'm sorry, do you have a menu?" ... I'll start with a beer! It seemed like they were expecting me to order something else... Sorry about that. I looked at the menu, which included: Regular nigiri: 1800 yen Special nigiri: 2500 yen Omakase: 3000 yen This is just a regular day for an old man, so I usually go for the "regular" option, but it seems like they don't offer that here. ...I'm glad I didn't just blurt out "regular" right away... I ordered the cheapest option, the "regular nigiri." The elderly master prepared it for me. There were thin rolls in the center, surrounded by nigiri and gunkan. The rice was small in size. The balance between the slightly thick and fresh toppings was superb. The medium fatty tuna was soft and delicious, but the conger eel was so fluffy and melting in my mouth~♪ Oh, so delicious♪ It's been a while since I had such delicious sushi. The lady next to me seemed to be enjoying the nigiri, saying, "The nigiri here is small, so I can eat as much as I want," while ordering more and more. Drinking alcohol and eating delicious sushi in the afternoon. I'm so envious~ (>_<) The lunch portion was a bit small, but considering the quality, it's understandable. With sushi, if you're willing to spend money, there's an endless amount of delicious options, so I still don't quite understand the value for money... I usually go for the "regular" option, so I can compare a bit, but today I went for the "special," so I'm a bit lost... Town sushi restaurants are scattered around like Chinese or soba shops, and everyone thinks their regular sushi restaurant is the best, so it's hard to say "this is the best" easily... But this place was delicious. It's a place where you can leisurely enjoy good food without worrying about the price while drinking.

A sushi restaurant in Higashi-Fuchu. They offer a variety of dishes starting from vinegared dishes, sashimi platters, grilled dishes, and side dishes, allowing you to fully enjoy the fish. They provide not just typical sushi dishes, but also unique ones that you won't find elsewhere, which is a plus. The food is so delicious that you could leave without even trying the sushi and still be satisfied. The sake goes down really well. The sushi pieces are small and the rice texture is just right, matching my preference perfectly. If this place were near my home, I would probably end up visiting every week. Service was good, with dishes served at the right timing to keep us entertained. The atmosphere is calm and very clean. With all the enjoyment provided, the price is quite good, falling below 10,000 yen. You can enjoy tasty Japanese sake that pairs well with the fish.

Get off at Higashi-Fuchu Station North Exit, cross the Koshu Kaido road towards the Fuchu Base of the Self-Defense Forces, and walk on the left side of the avenue lined with trees. You will see a big white sign with two kanji characters "Yusushi" as a landmark, rather than the fish swimming in the tank. When I was a child, my grandfather, who was from Fuchu, always said that "Edoichi in the North Exit has the best sushi." We used to think that Edoichi, which has now closed, was the only sushi restaurant in Fuchu, and we would only go there once a year with my father or when my grandfather ordered a lot of takeout for a memorial service. Since Edoichi closed down, I had been exploring non-conveyor belt sushi restaurants, but it was difficult to go with children, so the exploration had not progressed much. One day, when I asked a gas station in Higashi-Fuchu to wash and inspect my car, they said it would take about 40 minutes, so we decided to go eat. That's when I had an idea, Yusushi. It's risky to take children to a non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant, but I thought it was necessary to let them taste "real sushi" at least once a year. Well, I eat sushi secretly in the city center myself, but... When we entered, there was a counter in front of us. The master with silver-framed glasses and a young assistant were making sushi. They greeted us energetically, and the wife and another woman looked at us as if we were new customers. When I told them we were a group of five including children, they showed us to a private room, which was comforting. Oh, jazz music is playing. It's a mismatch, but it's a reassuring feeling. Since we had children with us and didn't have any preferences, we ordered according to the menu. The older boys had the 1800 yen set, and my wife and I had the "omakase" (chef's choice) for 3000 yen. I told them, "You won't get full quickly, so don't rush and savor the taste of the fish and rice." Our eldest son, who we call "Ita-san" at home, said, "I know, it's not conveyor belt sushi." However, for our 3-year-old daughter, we ordered one roll of natto maki and one egg. There were no prices listed for the sushi on the counter display, of course. It's "market price." If you don't have several bills in your wallet, you can't order at the counter. But this is it. It's not easy to approach people like this. This sense of intimidation is what makes a "sushi restaurant." Since the advent of conveyor belt sushi, this sense of intimidation has disappeared, and sushi has become more casual. However, that luxury sushi that used to be a once-a-year treat was here. Of course, I think it's unusual for a restaurant not to show prices, but this is also part of Japanese culture. As I chatted with the master, I felt a sense of informality and camaraderie, like getting a discount from 10,000 yen to 9,000 yen. The first dishes served were the natto maki and egg for our daughter. The natto in the natto maki was cut into individual grains, not mashed or chopped. I was amazed by the natto maki alone. Then came the set for the older boys, and our "omakase" arrived. The "omakase" came with miso soup, which included the heads of sweet shrimp and seaweed. I used to hate the smell of miso soup made from shrimp heads used by cheap sushi restaurants, but the shrimp miso soup at Yusushi was... delicious. The eldest son, who was eating squid sushi next to me, said, "This squid is super delicious" to himself. He chewed and chewed. Then, our "omakase." My wife's eyes widened when she bit into the conger eel. So I tried the conger eel. It melted in my mouth. Next was the salmon roe. Oh... this... it tastes like the salmon roe my grandmother squeezed out of a whole salmon about 40 years ago in Morioka and drizzled with soy sauce. It's that nostalgic salmon roe taste...!!... and so on.
