I came to try the afternoon drinks at 2 o'clock as it just passed 2 o'clock. There were three of us, so we opened the door and found out it was a standing bar. I remembered that they used to serve lunch here in the past. The tatami seating area would be available from 4 o'clock. I ordered a ginger ale, while my friends had beer and plum wine, along with potato salad and marinated horse mackerel. It felt quite narrow (as it was near the entrance) and the capacity is only 8 people. They had a radio playing and accepted cash on delivery. There were two chairs available, so we sat down on them. Thank you for the meal.

I visited this place for the first time. It's a shop near Akagi Shrine, up the slope in Kagurazaka. I arrived early, so I visited the shrine before entering the shop alone. The atmosphere here feels like visiting my grandparents' house. It's not new, but it has an old folk house charm that I really like. I ordered the 5000 yen course with kama-meshi. The sashimi, including maguro, was delicious, and the meal ended with tai kama-meshi. The crispy rice at the bottom was also tasty. There isn't a standout menu item, but everything was good. It's best enjoyed by people who can appreciate the atmosphere of the shop and have a good time drinking. Personal point to note: The restroom building has the same historical charm, it's not new.

During the Obon holiday, I went to Tokyo Dome every day to watch baseball games. We had a winning streak and celebrated with delicious sake. I had made a reservation for 6:00 PM and took a stroll through Kagurazaka. There was a great selection of sake, and I ended up trying five different kinds. The loach and sansho pepper hot pot was especially delicious. The atmosphere in Kagurazaka was lovely. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I was intrigued by the restaurant that was featured in a magazine, so I decided to visit. The standing bar area does not accept reservations and can often be crowded. The tatami room area does accept reservations, but only for the 5000 yen course. The interior is a traditional Japanese house, but the space felt smaller than expected, perhaps due to the closed sliding doors. The decor was also quite standard, which was a bit disappointing. The food, however, was delicious, with highlights including the fish soup, grilled duck, bell peppers, and fried tofu. The sashimi could have been better. The rice cooked in a pot was decent.

In Kagurazaka, there is a hidden gem of a standing bar izakaya with a traditional Japanese house atmosphere. The standing area can accommodate up to 8 people, while there are also a few seats available for reservation-only courses. It seems best to visit for standing drinking with up to 2 people. The menu is reasonably priced, with dishes mainly listed on a blackboard priced at 400 yen each, and additional set menu items ranging from 500 yen. Orders are placed at the counter in front of the kitchen, and payment is made in cash upfront. Although the dishes are small, the quality of the flavors was surprisingly high. I think the cost performance is excellent! I had been curious about this place for a while, so I was satisfied after finally visiting. Highly recommended!

I used a standing bar for the first time to kill time before my reservation at another restaurant. The space is not very large, but it has a calm atmosphere that I really liked. The green pepper and minced meat dish was surprisingly delicious, I want to go back just to eat that again. I also liked the atmosphere of the other floors, so I definitely want to go back again!

Visited on a Sunday night. Thought it would be impossible to make a reservation at this famous restaurant, but when I called on the day, they said it was empty. When I actually went, it was indeed empty. Maybe because it was Sunday evening. The dishes were all gentle on the palate, with a perfect balance that made the alcohol go down smoothly. Above all, the location in the back alleys of Kagurazaka with this atmosphere is just perfect.

The retro atmosphere of the old folk house with a charming veranda and block fence gives the impression of encountering a yokai walking with a hat on. The dim lighting adds to the appeal. The tatami room offers a nice set for casual drinking at 3500 yen, making it a cozy and charming spot. The set meal with rice topped with conger eel was delicious. It's a good place to stop by after a stroll in Kagurazaka. Reservations are recommended.

Thank you for the meal! I made a reservation for the seasonal course in the tatami room half a month ago and entered at 5:00 PM on a weekday. There were no other customers. Around 6:30 PM, a few customers started coming in. The firefly squid kamameshi was very delicious. I also ordered a few other dishes a la carte, drank some alcohol, and it cost me around 8,000 yen per person.

Located behind a shrine in Kagurazaka, this popular spot has a hidden feel despite always being busy. There is both standing and tatami seating available, with standing room limited to 8 people. The cozy space creates a calm atmosphere, enhanced by the wonderful radio playing in the background. Self-service for beer and hoppy, with payment required in cash each time. As a fan of sake, I was pleased to see around 8 different brands available while standing. However, at around 800 yen per glass, it's a bit pricey for a standing bar. Still, it's a charming place to spend a leisurely time.

Since I have tomorrow off as well, I decided to start drinking early today. I remembered that this corner bar allows drinking from 2 pm on Saturdays and holidays. When I opened the sliding door on the right side, there were already six people inside. The capacity is eight, so two more people can join. Regular cigarettes are not allowed, but it's okay to smoke. I ordered a small bottle of beer for 400 yen and paid in advance. The menu hasn't changed much, with about ten types of sake and food options listed on the blackboard to the right. All items on the blackboard are priced at 400 yen each. This time, I ordered the deep-fried tofu with green onion miso. I apologize for not taking a picture as I ate it right away. The tofu is filled with chopped green onions and miso, then grilled until crispy. I might try making this at home. It's already 4 pm, and I plan to go for okonomiyaki at 7 pm, so that's it for today.

I had been curious about this restaurant ever since I saw it featured on TV as a 300 yen per dish izakaya. Now it seems to be 400 yen per dish (with some exceptions). When you arrive at the restaurant, there are two entrances. If you want to drink slowly, go through the left door, and if you want to stand and drink quickly, go through the right door - an interesting setup. When I visited on a weekday night, there was one group of customers already there. The standing area has a capacity of 8 people, so depending on the timing, you might not be able to get in. The daily menu is written on a blackboard. The contrast is quite light, making it difficult to read, but it adds a unique charm. The menu features elaborate dish names that you wouldn't find at typical izakayas. After deciding on drinks and dishes, you pay at the counter and wait for your order. I ordered a rich-tasting Japanese sake and plum wine (400 yen). The sake was delicious. The chicken gizzard tempura was plentiful, crispy, and hot, with a satisfying crunch. The regular course meals also looked very appetizing, so I would like to visit again next time.

I have been interested in this place for a while, and this time I chose it for a welcome party. They have tatami seating and can accommodate a decent number of people, which is convenient. However, there are no partitions, so if there are loud customers, the atmosphere may be disrupted. We ordered the kama-meshi course, which had a small number of dishes but was just right for most people. The kama-meshi and sashimi were delicious. It's also nice that you can choose from two main dishes. It's a bit of a walk from Iidabashi Station, but I found a nice hidden gem. I would like to use it again.

I went to a place called Kado, which has both standing and tatami seating. It was a weekday, so I was the only customer. Drinks are 500 yen and snacks are 300 yen each. With 2000 yen, you can enjoy a variety of items. The mountain pepper seaweed and smoked mackerel go well with alcohol. I want to keep this place in mind as a nice spot to visit first. Thank you for the meal!

I wanted to have a quick drink, so I tried opening the heavy sliding door (I really thought it wouldn't budge). Inside, there is a standing bar space for up to 8 people with only 2 chairs. The snacks are all 300 yen, which is very reasonable. I ordered a draft beer and took my time choosing snacks. Even though everything is 300 yen, the snacks are delicious and have rich flavors that go well with the alcohol. Whether it's pickled cucumbers or simmered eggs, everything is 300 yen, which makes it interesting. I ordered a good variety of snacks and they came out quickly. It's a great place for a casual drink. I could see a bit of the tatami room from where I was sitting, and it seems like a different atmosphere for a fun dining experience. I'll definitely invite someone next time and try out the tatami room.

The restaurant had a very Kyoto-like atmosphere. It was perfect for a casual drink with delicious seasonal small dishes. We had beer and lemon sour, which were tasty. You can reserve a tatami mat seating starting from the 3500 yen course. Standing at the counter might be a better option.

The place seems to have a restriction of up to 8 people in the standing bar booth. It is indeed small with no place to put your belongings, so it can get crowded. Surprisingly, heating cigarettes are allowed. The food menu is all written on the wall for ¥300 each. You pay each time you order. I like this kind of place. The staff is nice and the pickled vegetables are good. I would be even happier if they still have shirako next time I visit.

This is a standing bar that has also been featured on the Ueno Shokudo program hosted by Editor-in-Chief Danchu. They have both standing and seated areas, but reservations are required for the course menu. For standing customers, they operate on a cash basis and the first drink is a shochu highball for 400 yen. All prices include tax. I forgot to take a photo, but the miso minced cutlet was delicious at 300 yen per piece. It was very juicy and tasty. There are only two chairs for standing customers, but I decided to sit and drink today. Next, I ordered a sake from Fumotoi and paired it with smoked mackerel. It was a great combination. In the end, it cost 1,400 yen. It's a great place to enjoy a quick drink. I left the restaurant feeling satisfied.

Accompanied my daughter to the Eiken exam in Iidabashi. While waiting for the test to finish, I decided to finally visit Kad-san, a place I've been wanting to go to. I walked from Iidabashi station with the help of Google Maps, but had trouble finding it. After wandering around for a bit, I saw a crowd and found the shop! I remembered from my research that the standing bar was behind the right door. I could hear people and lively conversations from behind the door, and as a solo customer, I hesitated (laughs). I mustered up my courage and opened the door... The small shop was packed, and I almost gave up, but the customers ahead of me made space for me. Thank you! I quickly finished my first beer, then ordered another beer and chicken gizzard tempura. The cozy atmosphere and charming interior of the shop made for a wonderful solo time.

I often visit this place after work when I'm tired from overtime, as they are open until 10:30 pm. It's a renovated old Japanese house turned into a cool bar. The entrance has two doors, but you should go to the right one. It's a cozy standing bar that fits about 8 people, and it's great for solo customers like me. You order snacks from the chalkboard menu on the wall and drinks from the menu next to the counter, paying as you go. Beer is 400 yen for Sapporo draft, snacks are around 300 yen each, and they have a good selection of sake, hoppy, and sour drinks. The food is tasty, the portions are generous, and everything is reasonably priced. I always feel grateful for the value I get here. It's a great place to recommend for a satisfying and affordable standing bar experience.
