Hiroo Kitapon Sake Food Log 3.08 Price 3000-4000 "Delicious Sake Izakaya in Hiroo" Located within a 10-minute walk from Hiroo Station, near the intersection of Hiroo Ichome, this restaurant is known for its wide selection of Japanese sake, particularly focused on hot sake, with hundreds of varieties. It has been featured in media that highlight sake-centered establishments. We visited this place for our first pre-drinks gathering. [Atmosphere] The L-shaped counter seats about 8 people, creating a cozy and warm ambiance despite the small space. [Food & Price] Below are the menu items we had this time. Items that stood out are marked with ○ or ◎. ------------------------------------------------------- We had 4 types of appetizers as starters and tried 6 different types of sake! They also provide a service where they serve the sake at room temperature until it's ready to be served hot. ------------------------------------------------------ [Reservation] We were able to get a table even with a same-day reservation, but due to the limited seating, it's recommended to make a reservation in advance. [Summary] The sake was particularly excellent! Although we couldn't try all the dishes, we would like to visit again. Thank you for the meal! We will be back! #Gourmet #TokyoGourmet #HirooGourmet #Food #TokyoFood #HirooFood #TokyoDinner #Dinner #HirooDinner #Izakaya #TokyoIzakaya #HirooIzakaya #JapaneseSake #TokyoJapaneseSake #SakeBar #KitaponSake #HotSake #UmeLogTokyo #UmeLogIzakaya #Follow #FoodLog #WantToConnectWithFoodies #WantToConnectWithGourmetLovers #WantToConnectWithIzakayaFans #WantToConnectWithSakeLovers #WantToConnectWithFoodLovers

If you love sake, there's a place in Hiroo that you must visit. We went to "Kitapon Sake" with a group of sake enthusiasts. Located between Hiroo and Ebisu, you'll find this cute lantern and curtain a half step off the main street. What's with this adorable curtain? It's so captivating. When you enter the shop, Kitapon warmly welcomes you. The first thing you do is choose three sake cups from the lineup. I chose three in shades of pink because I love it. This is where your taste is tested. Behind the counter, there are fluttering flags of warm sake. Let's start with the sake. They keep coming one after another! The first dish is a masterpiece with plenty of trefoil. We visited in the summer, so there were plenty of summer vegetables. The sake keeps coming over the counter. I can't even remember what kind of fish we ate... but various types of fish perfect for sake pairing appeared. We enjoy both the exquisite dishes and sake. Next, the prosciutto arrives. It's moist, slightly sticky, and perfectly salty. Along with the chawanmushi, fresh sea urchin is served! Creamy chawanmushi paired with rich uni, it's bound to be delicious! The crunchy young corn adds a fun texture. Finally, we finish with sweet and sour berries. In a very cozy atmosphere, we enjoy delicious sake and dishes. If you love sake, this is a bar you must visit. Thank you for the meal!

The cuisine at this restaurant is filled with the chef's dedication and is very delicious. It is likely that you won't experience this originality at other restaurants. The selection of Japanese sake is also extensive, and you can easily request your preferences and they will keep coming. One thing to note is that they only serve Japanese sake, so if you want to quench your thirst with other alcohol, you'll have to go to another place. Also, prices are not displayed, so you might be surprised by the bill at the end. In fact, on this day, it was over 60,000 yen for four people. However, we started at 7 pm and stayed for over 4 hours, so maybe it's inevitable. It's not much different from visiting two other places in terms of time spent.

I visited "Kitapon Sake," a Japanese sake izakaya in Hiroo. They have a wide variety of sake, and many beautiful sake cups made by various ceramic artists. It was exciting to be able to choose my own sake cup. The atmosphere of the counter-only shop is excellent, and I enjoyed chatting with the owner. The appetizers and the prosciutto were delicious. It's a shop I want to visit again.

Visited this place with a friend for drinks. It's tucked away off the main street, in what used to be a warehouse but has now been transformed into a seafood rice bowl restaurant. The menu details can be found on Facebook so it's worth checking there. We opted for the 5500 yen course on this day. You can request the temperature of the sake you want and they will recommend something that pairs well with the food. Upon entering the restaurant, you get to choose 3 sake cups of your liking. The shelves filled with various sake cups are a sight to behold. They often use herbs and spices in their dishes here. The pumpkin soup with smoked paprika powder and black pepper was a great start. The appetizer platter with 4 different items was satisfying, with a variety of vegetables. The highlight for me was the thinly sliced prosciutto, which was flavorful and delicious. I paired it with a warm sake called Takasago, which complemented the prosciutto perfectly. The chawanmushi with icefish and sea urchin was incredibly tasty, especially when paired with warm sake. The seasonal fruit platter at the end was surprisingly good with sake. We also ordered a burrata cheese dish and vinegar marinated beef tripe, both of which were delicious. The attention to detail in the sake cups, like using old milk bottles for warm sake, was impressive. The cozy atmosphere and the friendly owner made us stay until closing time. I would definitely come back, even if it's just for a drink after work.

First, choose three different sake cups per person and enjoy comparing three types of sake slowly. You can also enjoy a variety of appetizers and light dishes while savoring hot sake. This is a recommended spot for those who love sake. #Kitapon Sake #Sake #Tabelog #Follow #Want to connect with gourmet lovers #Want to connect with gourmet enthusiasts #Want to connect with those who love delicious food #Hiroo restaurant Watarogu https://wata-log.net

After finishing work, the drinking enthusiast went to Ebisu. Today, I was invited by a drinking friend to "Kitapon Sake" in Ebisu. Let's start by drinking some sake. First, I will have Abe Kan, Chochin, and Wakabayashi. For food, we had Edomae hamaguri, komatsuna, edamame, husk cherries, tomatoes, mushrooms, sautéed green peppers, sweet potatoes, Katsuo from Kochi, Taiyura shells, Meitagarei, Croaker, Prosciutto from Parma, homemade roast ham, water eggplant, chawanmushi, ankimo, and sea bass. Each dish pairs perfectly with the amazing sake. The delicious sake keeps flowing and flowing! We also had Ice Breaker, Ine Mankai, Take Suzume, Asajou, Rakkasui, Kitajima, Furosen, Hakuei Izumi, Shinkuro, Sasai, Etsukaijin, Iwakisho, and many more. It was a very enjoyable and tipsy night!

I have enjoyed sake at various reputable establishments, but the evening drink on this day was truly enjoyable, almost too enjoyable. I had seen a photo of this place on the cover of a magazine featuring sake spots in the Kanto region, showcasing a variety of sake types and brands that made it a must-visit. I had not visited before due to personal preference, as there is an area in Tokyo that I do not particularly like, which is Ebisu-Hiroo. However, on this day, I coincidentally met the owner of this place at an acquaintance's pottery exhibition, and we decided to visit the shop together. The owner has a great knowledge of sake and a strong commitment to the vessels used for sake, as well as providing excellent food based on their vast experience. It was immediately clear to anyone with some knowledge of sake that this is a top-notch establishment. While the owner is not one to talk much while drinking, we ended up chatting for almost 3 hours on this day because it was so enjoyable. It truly felt like time flew by. I am very grateful for the wonderful experience. This is definitely a place I will visit again.

This is a counter-only shop. They serve Japanese sake to match the dishes. I might have paid a bit more since I drank quite a lot. The dishes include fresh, delicious ham sliced from logs and various other delicious dishes that have had a special touch added to them. Enjoying sake in the relaxed and warm atmosphere of the restaurant may be nice during this season. There were two women and one man dining comfortably. It seems like a welcoming place for anyone to enter.

This is a restaurant that my friend found for us! We made a reservation for Friday night, but we were the only ones in the restaurant. Maybe it's not well known yet since it just opened this year? When we entered the restaurant, we were told to "first choose two sake cups." This got us really excited! There were so many different types to choose from, but we ended up picking two beautiful red glass sake cups with very realistic sleeping cat faces on them. There didn't seem to be a set menu here, as it felt like a full course meal where you leave it up to the chef. Each dish was explained to us in detail, highlighting the key points of the ingredients, which made the food taste really delicious. - Pumpkin soup - Four appetizers (turnip, dried tomatoes, seaweed, and one more that was really delicious but I forgot...) - Prosciutto - Vegetable salad - Salmon roe and bonito tartare - Oyster chawanmushi-like soup - Grilled amberjack The concept of this place is to enjoy Japanese sake with prosciutto, and they have a strong focus on the quality of the prosciutto. They even had a machine at the counter to cut the prosciutto right in front of us. The prosciutto came in three different cuts, each with a different level of fat, and they were all delicious. I was surprised by how well they paired with Japanese sake! The service was excellent, with the owner managing everything by himself. He provided just the right amount of attention and the explanations about the sake made the experience enjoyable. Lastly, we opted for the chef's choice course, which cost 9,200 yen per person. It was a luxurious experience, with attentive service and a delicious meal. I will definitely save up to come back for another extravagant meal! This place may not be a high-end traditional Japanese restaurant, but it's a great spot for sake lovers. Thank you for the wonderful meal! (*´▽`*)

◆Excellent Dish: Assorted Prosciutto Plate The assorted prosciutto plate includes three types of ham: prosciutto, coppa, and guanciale. The owner, Mr. Kitao, slices them thinly using an Italian slicer and serves them with hot sake. When I mentioned that it reminded me of a restaurant in Otsuka called 29 Roti, he said, "I also visited that restaurant and was so impressed that I learned their technique." The ham is tender, smooth, and gently salty, melting in your mouth at the low melting point of the thinly sliced meat, with a subtle sweetness that gradually emerges. Rather than eating it heartily, it's more enjoyable to savor it lightly and appreciate the marriage with sake. Sometimes, it's nice to visit a place like this. ◆Menu for the Day - Chilled Pumpkin Soup - Appetizer Plate: Homemade semi-dried tomatoes, mashed potatoes with basil and coriander, eggplant with mango and banana, salted cucumber topped with kelp - Assorted Prosciutto Plate: Prosciutto, coppa, guanciale - Watercress Salad with olive oil, topped with white bitter gourd and onion with bonito flakes - Boiled peanuts - Swordfish with watermelon puree, marinated swordfish with sake lees - Grilled conger eel with soy sauce, lemon, and chili, paired with sake - Omakase course (dinner) for 10,000 yen per person ◆How to Enjoy this Restaurant <Profile> A Japanese restaurant run by Hidehito Kitao, former head chef of the renowned yakitori restaurant Toridama. The restaurant boasts an impressive selection of 500 types of Japanese sake. Opened in April 2019. <Ordering> The course menu is 6,000 yen including service charge. Drinks are selected from the wide range of Japanese sake available. <Atmosphere> A small restaurant with an L-shaped counter seating eight people, located in a back alley. The owner, Mr. Kitao, manages the restaurant single-handedly. ◆Source From "Brutus" magazine, September 1, 2019 issue, "Even More Delicious Izakaya." Thank you for the feast!

This time, I had planned to use it for the first party, but ended up going to the second party again. The various dishes were so delicious in a perverted way... I felt like it was a waste... But I made sure to enjoy the drinks. Kitapon, the carefully selected Japanese sake is very delicious! And the attention to detail in the selection of prosciutto as a side dish is quite impressive. Moreover, prosciutto goes really well as a side dish with Japanese sake. It seems like they also put a lot of thought into the tableware, especially the sake cups. ☺️

I finally visited this shop after thinking about it for a while, having found it through some kind of opportunity. It's located near the east exit of Ebisu Station, about a 10-minute walk away. I don't usually come to Ebisu late, so there are many trendy shops and fashionable people around. I knew it was here when I saw Sugidama at the corner. The inside of the shop had one customer already seated. There are about 8 seats at the counter. The shop without background music is unique and memorable in a good way. The sight of rows of Japanese sake bottles is magnificent. There are plenty of bottles on shelves at room temperature and in the refrigerator! There is no drink menu or food menu, so it seems like it's mostly omakase style. There are almost no beers or shochu. Their uncompromising attitude is wonderful, like the beer commercial that says "Don't be round, become a star." Today, I had Yamagata Masamune's summer sake, Fusozuru's warmed sake, and Iwaki Kotobuki's summer sake. It must be tough for the owner to manage everything alone, so it's probably best to just tell them your basic preferences. However, they highly recommend having warm sake with the prosciutto, so be sure to try it. The warm sake melts the fat of the prosciutto, creating a melting sensation in your mouth. It's nice to be able to enjoy this combination outside of the 29 Roti in Otsuka, as Otsuka is far away. What's even more wonderful is the excellent sense of the tableware. Various artists' works such as Iga, Sometsuke, and Oribe are lined up. I once again realized that a good restaurant has good tableware. I will definitely visit again.

We visited the restaurant for a second round after-party. We arrived around 9 o'clock and there was only one customer at first, but soon it became full of people. The seats started rotating. We hesitated to order extravagant and delicious dishes due to our full stomachs. The sake was still wonderful as always, but we drank it in moderation, all served warm. We regretted not coming to this restaurant for the first round, as it is truly the best place for sake.

Today was my first visit to this place. It opened in April this year, and I had been wanting to go since then. However, it seemed like there were regular customers coming in every day, and I never had the time to visit. Finally, I found a reason to go and was able to visit with some friends. The selection of sake was amazing, with a wide variety of high-quality options. I was truly impressed. They had both cold and warm sake, which paired perfectly with the food. The owner's knowledge and passion for sake was evident. The dishes were also unique and delicious, each one complementing the sake perfectly. I think I may have found a new favorite spot. I'm definitely hooked.

A cozy little place that a friendly female doctor has taken me to a few times. ★Location The entrance is a bit hidden, set back a little from the street, so it can be a bit hard to find. Look for the lantern with a caricature of the owner, like a playful riddle. ★Interior The seating consists of only counter seats. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable, making it a relaxing space. The owner speaks in a soothing tone, creating a welcoming environment. ★Drinks The owner always asks, "Cold or hot sake?" and recommends a sake based on your preference for the day, pulling it from a fridge filled with various sake bottles like a mini sake brewery in the back. I've tried several types of sake, and they were all delicious. There is also a showcase of sake cups at the back of the seats, allowing you to choose 1 or 2 cups to enjoy your drink. It's fun to pick out cute, cool, or refreshing cups for your sake. ★Food I've had a mixed plate of 4 appetizers before, and once when I visited near closing time, the owner prepared a small dish for me. The dishes are light and made with seasonal vegetables, all delicious and perfect with sake. If you order the prosciutto, they will slice it fresh for you. The thinly sliced prosciutto is exquisite and pairs wonderfully with sake. →Recommended for those who want to leisurely enjoy delicious sake and food. I'm looking forward to visiting for the first time as the first stop next time.

I attended an opening party for an exhibition and sale event featuring three ceramic artists at an art dealer. The place was crowded with many people. After a while, myself and three others left and went to Kitapon Sake. Two of us were visiting for the first time. The drinks and food were delicious, and I was happy to hear compliments about the place. ^_^
