【Restaurant Name】Nile Restaurant 【Order】Murgh curry, Lassi 【Impression】The Murgh curry I had at Nile Restaurant was truly exquisite. With every bite, you can taste the deep aroma of spices and rich flavor. It starts off with a mellow taste but gradually builds up spiciness, stimulating your appetite. The chicken is tenderly cooked and perfectly complements the spices, enhancing the overall deliciousness. The Lassi was also outstanding, soothing the spiciness of the curry and making the meal even more enjoyable. 【On the Day】It was a very hot night, and after watching a passionate Kabuki performance, I stopped by Nile Restaurant. The thought of cold Lassi and delicious curry waiting for me after the intense show completely refreshed me. I had a special moment enjoying delicious food and a lovely atmosphere. 【Staff】The staff at Nile Restaurant were very hospitable. They were attentive, even removing bones from the dish during the meal. There was a heartwarming moment where they responded in Hindi when I said "thank you" in Hindi, adding to the pleasant customer service experience. 【Location・Access】Nile Restaurant is located right by Higashi-Ginza Station, making it easily accessible. For a taste of delicious curry and Lassi, be sure to visit Nile Restaurant.

Specialty dish - Chicken Lunch Curry with chicken thigh on top, cabbage. The owner, also a specialty, walks around constantly calling out "Mix it all together and eat!" The sight of him doing this is another specialty at Nile Restaurant. The tender chicken meat is shredded into the curry, rice, and cabbage, and when mixed together, a magical combination of spicy curry, sweet cabbage, and savory chicken meat is created. It's so delicious that you won't be able to stop eating. Although it's Indian curry, it's different from eating it with naan or saffron rice (basmati), it's more like Japanese curry rice. This symphony of chicken and cabbage is something you can only experience in this area of Ginza, so it's definitely worth waiting in line for.

At lunchtime, there is always a line, but when I went around 2:30 pm, I was able to get in without waiting. I was directed to the second floor where the interior was decorated in pink, which was cute and lifted my spirits. I'm not a fan of spicy food, but the level of spiciness was just right and the meat was very tender and delicious. In the curry, there was something like mashed potatoes that was also tasty. When I ordered a beer, it came with a snack that tasted like chickpeas. Looking around the restaurant, it seemed like everyone was ordering the Murghlunch (Indian-style chicken lunch), so that seems to be the recommended dish.

Nile Restaurant is a famous restaurant located near Higashi-Ginza Station. It is known for being frequented by Ichikawa Ebizo since his childhood. I visited the restaurant before their reviews started on Tabelog. There have been some changes in the past 10 years: fewer people waiting in line, the boss who used to be the face of the restaurant has moved away, and they have stopped the shared seating system due to COVID-19. I arrived at 12:40 and entered the restaurant at 12:50. The interior is vibrant with bright pink colors. Customers, whether alone or in pairs, quickly sit at available tables. I ordered the Murgh Lunch with extra spiciness, which was free of charge. The dish was served in about 2 minutes, and the chicken was tender and flavorful. It was served with cabbage, mashed potatoes, green peas, and Turmeric rice from Iwate Prefecture. Mixing all the components together enhanced the flavors. I enjoyed the spicier version of the dish. Even when I left, there were still a few groups waiting. Throughout my visit, I noticed a regular customer having a conversation with the staff at the back of the restaurant. Overall, it was a delightful dining experience.

I used it for lunch. I had the Murghy lunch and mango lassi. The Murghy lunch comes with bones, but the staff will remove the bones and cut the chicken into easy-to-eat pieces before serving. Even when mixed together, it has various textures and flavors that taste delicious. It's quite spicy, so I recommend ordering it with lassi.

Today, my family visited this restaurant. We had the omakase course (2,950 yen per person) for two people. We enjoyed papad (fried crackers), kabab (meatballs), chicken masala, chickpea masala, pilau, and chapati. We finished with the murgh lunch set, which is a classic but satisfying choice. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I visited Yamagata Field for lunch at 11:30 and was smoothly guided to the second floor. I ordered the Murgh lunch for 1600 yen. The chicken bones were removed at the table, and the dish was mixed well. I found it a bit too spicy for my liking, as I have become less tolerant of spice recently. However, the spices were so good that I couldn't stop eating and finished the meal.

I visited the restaurant on a regular night. It was still early, so the place was empty. I was recommended the Murgh Lunch, which arrived before I even saw the menu. I gladly accepted it since I came for that dish. The Murgh Lunch arrived quickly, with cabbage, mashed potatoes, bone-in chicken, saffron rice, and green peas. The staff removed the bones from the chicken and cut it into small pieces for me. They instructed me to mix everything well before eating. The chicken, with its low fat content, paired nicely with the simmered Indian curry. The curry was light, but mixing in the mashed potatoes added thickness, making it cozy like Japanese curry. The cabbage and green peas provided a nice touch, and it was indeed tastier when mixed well. I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, so I was glad I came. Thank you for the meal. Also, even with less rice, I still felt full after the meal. If you have a small appetite, be aware.

I visited again as it is on my way to work. The location right above Higashi-Ginza Station is a great advantage. I ordered Rasam soup, Chana Masala, and rice. The Chana Masala here stands out from other restaurants with its strong seafood-like seasoning. (Is it dried shrimp?) It was created by the original owner's wife and has been preserved for decades. It's addictive. The rice is the usual Japanese rice.

I visited Ginza Nile Restaurant after a long time and ordered the classic Murgh Lunch. I have been coming here for almost 50 years, but I feel like the taste has changed slightly. There seems to be a little more spiciness from the chili pepper. However, I enjoyed it until the end. I would like to come back again!

I visited for the second time to have the Murghiranchi lunch. The taste was as delicious as ever. The chicken was tender and plentiful, making the curry filling and satisfying. We also shared the shrimp curry among multiple people, and it was tasty with a good amount of spice.

If you live in Tokyo and love eating out, there are several must-visit restaurants, especially in the curry department. One of the most famous places is Nile Restaurant in Ginza, which is actually quite a distance geographically, but the taste is top-notch. When you sit down, you are automatically recommended the Murgh Lunch (1,600 yen), where the staff will debone a chicken about the size of KFC chicken for you. Then you mix the chicken, cabbage, mashed potatoes, rice, and curry all together and eat. The flavors are so complex that I don't have the vocabulary to describe them, but it's slightly spicy and incredibly delicious! I was amazed at how beautifully the spices in the curry come together. It seems to be very crowded at lunchtime, but surprisingly, it was easy to get in at night.

First visit. Arrived before opening but already 7 customers ahead. Spacious interior so no problem. Had Murgh lunch and Indian beer. Slowly getting spicier, very good. Finished in seconds. Would like to try other menu items next time.

I felt that the price was high. If they advertise as Indian curry, I would expect Basmati rice to be served. However, using Japanese rice made it feel more ordinary. The spices were not as strong as I expected, and it lacked the right level of spiciness. They served the chicken already shredded, but I prefer to have the bones to chew on, so I asked them to leave the bones. Despite being instructed to mix it well, I found the curry tasted better before mixing. I was planning to order the Rasam soup if the curry was good, but since it was just average, I decided not to get the tomato soup without any ingredients for ¥650. Although it's a famous restaurant in Ginza, it wasn't crowded, and I probably won't visit again.

Today, I had a late lunch at Nile's Murgh Lunch Curry in Higashi-Ginza near the Kabuki-za theater. Next to it is a curry restaurant that has been around for a long time in Tokyo. The chicken was tender and as I kept eating, the spiciness increased, but I just couldn't resist having the Murgh curry here. Sometimes you just crave curry, right? While homemade curry and other curries are delicious, if you ever find yourself in Higashi-Ginza, be sure to stop by Nile for their curry.

I lined up at the super famous Nile Restaurant in Ginza 15 minutes before opening on a Saturday afternoon. There were already about 5 groups lined up, and more people were lining up behind us. The customers were of various ages and genders, showing how popular the restaurant is. As for the curry, it was served incredibly fast after ordering! And it was delicious! It wasn't spicy at first, but the spiciness increased as I ate more. However, I couldn't stop eating. There was plenty of chicken in the curry, and side dishes like potato salad added variety to the flavors. The prices are on the higher side being in Ginza, but I definitely want to eat here again.

As I was passing by, I decided to enter the restaurant. The interior was lively with Indian music playing and people coming and going (fast turnover). I tried the recommended classic curry for the first time. It had a refreshing spiciness and the meat was tender. I was surprised that they carefully removed the bones from the bone-in meat. It was delicious!

I went to "Nile Restaurant" in Higashi-Ginza to have a delicious curry when I wanted to eat the best curry in the area. It was a scorching hot summer day in Tokyo's Marunouchi area in 2023. I took the Marunouchi Line to Ginza Station and then the Hibiya Line to Higashi-Ginza to avoid the heat as much as possible. I arrived at the restaurant at around 11:50 am on a weekday and there were only three people waiting in line. Despite the intense heat, we managed to endure it under the shade. It seemed like this time was when more customers started to arrive, but I was able to enter the restaurant in about 5 minutes. The interior of the restaurant is mainly decorated in subdued pink tones with walls and curtains as the main colors. There are also works by the previous generations of the restaurant owners displayed. I ordered the "Murghy Lunch (1600 yen)", which is the signature dish that most people in the restaurant were ordering. It is a spicy curry made by simmering domestic chicken thigh meat for a long time. It is served with turmeric rice from Iwate Prefecture, warm vegetables (cabbage), mashed potatoes, and green peas. When mixed together, it transforms into a completely different dish. It was a delicious Indian-Japanese curry risotto. When you only taste the sauce, it has a sharp impression with onions, chili, and a salty taste. However, when mixed together, the crunchy texture of the cabbage, the richness and creaminess of the mashed potatoes, and the satisfying taste of the chicken all blend together, harmonizing the strong chili spiciness and multi-layered flavors. I knew about the mixing etiquette from my previous visit, but due to the situation at that time, I consciously ate it separately. Now, I would recommend mixing it before eating to anyone. It was delicious!!! Thank you for the meal!!! #077

I visited the restaurant around 3:00 PM, outside of lunchtime. It seems they have all-day service, so you can visit at other times too. There was no wait, and I was guided to the second floor when I opened the door. I ordered the Murgh Lunch for 1,600 yen (tax included), and it was served in about 5 minutes. They shredded the chicken in front of me. The taste was medium spicy, which felt a bit spicy to me as I prefer sweet dishes like Butter Chicken Curry. Mixing the potato (with green peas) that came with it made the flavor a bit milder. The location is very convenient, just a short walk from Higashi-Ginza Station A2 exit and less than 5 minutes from Ginza Station's Ginza Mitsukoshi. The interior of the restaurant had a stylish atmosphere with a pink theme. The staff's service was good, and I would like to visit again once I get used to the spiciness of the curry.

Even when it's crowded, the turnover is good so you can quickly find a seat. If you're not used to it, you might end up choosing the Murgh lunch set, but that's also a good system. The taste is not too strong and elegant, in a common way of saying, it's a flavor that suits Japanese people. The third generation is always serving, but sometimes they are not there. There are also regulars who come here almost every day.

After judo practice, I was extremely hungry and decided to visit the 'Nair's Restaurant' in Ginza, which had been closed for a while, to have the Murgh lunch that I always go for. I thought I would be pushed to choose the Murgh lunch as usual, but the Indian staff immediately made a suggestion in fluent Japanese, asking if it was our recommended signature dish. This made me realize that they had changed their approach. However, the situation took a turn when an Indian lady entered as a customer. It reminded me of the day when I embarrassed myself by bringing my North Indian Tabla teacher to this restaurant. It turns out that the Nile Restaurant does not have a tandoor, so you cannot enjoy authentic roti or chapati there. The lady seemed to have nothing to order, so she was snacking on papadum with beer. I ordered the recommended signature dish as usual and enjoyed it to the fullest. It was incredibly delicious!
