I entered the restaurant around 12:10 on Wednesday, May 5, 2023. Inside, there was a group dining and the sushi toppings and rice were large, providing a satisfying and luxurious lunch experience. However, the rice was too soft or perhaps too big, making it difficult to pick up the shrimp sushi smoothly while eating.

Next to the Skytree, there is a shop that I've been meaning to visit for a few years now. The exterior doesn't look cheap, so I decided to stop by for lunch while shopping at Solamachi. I originally planned to just have some chirashi and leave, but ended up ordering a beer. The meal started with shirako as an appetizer, which was delicious! When I asked about the sashimi options, the chef suggested a mixed plate of various shellfish. By the time I finished eating, I had also tried their chirashi. The bill came out to just under 12,000 yen for two people. I wonder how much the shellfish sashimi plate was? (laughs) I thought I was going for a light meal, so I should have chosen more carefully. The chef is great and had good intentions. It was my fault for being vague in my preferences. I might go back for dinner sometime and enjoy a proper meal. I think the chirashi is a good value for money!

I received a chirashi bowl for 1,200 yen. The toppings were delicious, but the rice was a bit lacking. It came with miso soup with clams, which had a rich clam flavor. The counter seats seemed to be fully booked, and the Sunday lunch rush was quite busy.

The restaurant is located along a street near Skytree Station. Despite its appearance, it is a calm sushi restaurant with a hinoki counter. Listening to other customers' conversations, it was evident that they take pride in sourcing fresh seasonal ingredients. I ordered a chirashi bowl and a bottle of beer. The chirashi bowl had a variety of toppings such as squid, salmon roe, lean tuna, medium fatty tuna, gizzard shad, boiled shrimp, herring roe, and tamago (egg), among others. The toppings change daily based on what's available, and the homemade tamago adds a unique touch to the dish. I had a relaxing time enjoying the meal.

Today I'm feeling great, so I decided to come to the Skytree and relax. I visited a few years ago and had a great time with my mom, so I came back after a long time. I ordered the upper chirashi and my mom got the upper nigiri, both come with miso soup with clams. The chirashi had over 10 different types of toppings, all of them delicious. From what I remember, the toppings included medium fatty tuna, lean tuna, herring roe, squid, squid guts, salmon roe, simmered anago, vinegar-marinated something, some kind of shellfish, shrimp, sweet shrimp with egg, fish cake, and something like shredded fish. The miso soup with clams was also full of clams and I finished it all. Both my mom and I agreed that the top two delicious toppings were the medium fatty tuna (so fatty and tender, melts in your mouth) and the simmered anago (soft and fluffy). Despite being right by the Skytree, the price was reasonable and we arrived before 1pm with no other customers, so we could enjoy our meal in peace. When I visit the Skytree again, I will definitely come back here. Can't wait to get better and have a beer! 🍺

On top of the vinegar rice, there is a generous assortment of toppings such as tuna, bonito, yellowtail, horse mackerel, herring, konoshiro, simmered squid, boiled shrimp, and simmered anago, beautifully arranged with pickled radish and ginger on the side. Especially the anago has a soft skin and the slightly rich simmered sauce is impressive. The vinegar rice is mixed with chopped kanpyo and is slightly mild in flavor. It's not flashy, but this chirashi sushi is definitely doing its job well.

The shop facing Asakusa Street is located near the west entrance/exit of the Skytree. The western end of the Skytree is close to the Tobu Skytree Line's Tokyo Skytree Station, Tobu Hashiguchi, Hanami Slope leading to Sumida Aquarium, making it the gateway for people coming from the Asakusa area. Most people coming from the Asakusa area probably walk along Asakusa Street, and this shop is located near the intersection of Kaihei 1-chome where people turn from Asakusa Street towards the Skytree. The exterior of the shop seemed new, with a large noren curtain hanging at the entrance. Upon entering, I was greeted by a bright white wooden counter. I ordered the "Nami Chirashi" for under 1,000 yen. After a short wait, I received the chirashi. Although the portion seemed slightly small, it was packed with a variety of fresh toppings. The vinegar rice was only about half the size of a sushi tub, but the toppings, including anago, were delicious and fresh. The service was good, with complimentary soup and hot tea provided. The atmosphere was clean and pleasant, with the white wooden counter giving a refreshing sushi restaurant vibe. Overall, I felt that it was a good sushi restaurant in the area, offering a good balance of quality and value. It's a nice place to enjoy sushi in a quiet atmosphere right in front of the Skytree.

On a certain weekday for lunch, I decided to try out a sushi restaurant that I had been curious about near the former Gyohiraibashi Station. There were three customers before me and two customers after me. The chef was standing behind the counter, with his wife assisting. I splurged a bit for lunch and ordered the Chirashi bowl for 1500 yen. The counter seats at this non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant made me a bit nervous. The dish arrived in about 8 minutes. The Chirashi bowl included akami, chutoro, simmered anago, horse mackerel, squid, ikura, squid tentacles, saury, firefly squid, small fish, steamed shrimp, kelp with fish roe, tamagoyaki, and pickled daikon. While there were no standout super fresh ingredients, the composition of the toppings seemed reasonable for the price. The amount of sushi rice was on the smaller side, but the vinegar seasoning and temperature were just right. The dish was topped with seaweed, dried gourd strips, and sesame seeds. The clam miso soup had a good broth and was delicious. Overall, the Chirashi bowl at this non-conveyor belt sushi restaurant was decently tasty. Thank you for the meal.

From Asakusa, heading towards the Skytree, I walked for 30 minutes and finally, the big Skytree was right in front of me. When I looked to the side, a sushi restaurant with a new noren caught my eye. Since I had come this far and the Skytree was so close, I decided to have a third lunch at Yobei Sushi. Various menus were written at the entrance of the restaurant. In commemoration of looking up at the Skytree, I decided to go for the "special" at 2200 yen. I passed through the noren, opened the door, and sat at the counter. There were a few customers already at the counter. I ordered the special nigiri sushi for 2200 yen from the master. The hostess quickly brought me a towel, a large teacup filled with strong tea. This is the typical tea of a sushi restaurant and it was delicious. When I asked the master how long it would take to get to the Skytree, he pointed and said, "It's right there." I told them I had come from Kyushu and walked from Asakusa, and the hostess brought me a map of the Skytree area and said it was only about 5 minutes away. The sushi master's knife skills were quick and the sushi was carefully made. I asked to have all the nigiri together for a photo. The colorful nigiri was beautifully presented on the counter. The ikura was well flavored, the tamago had Yobei's brand, the ebi had a good texture, the ika was decent, the chutoro had good fat content, and the tekka maki was delicious with a slightly less rice portion. For 2200 yen, this Edo-style sushi was reasonable in Tokyo. The regular customer next to me referred to the master as "oyakata". He said this place is a famous restaurant in the downtown area where you can eat delicious sushi at a reasonable price. I also thought the same. The son runs a bar on the second floor at night. Customers kept coming in. The customer next to me quietly took a photo of the 1000 yen sushi. It's cheap for this quality. I chatted with the master and the regular customer for about an hour. The master was friendly and very kind. The hostess saw me off all the way outside when I left. Thank you for the meal.

I have been going to the same restaurant for over 20 years, and they have been serving the same style of food. The taste has not changed and it is still delicious. I know a few sushi restaurants, but I use Yobei Sushi for entertaining clients.

After making a phone reservation following an eel meal, I walked to the front of the store to pick up my takeout order. Located right in front of the Skytree, "Yohei Sushi" looked surprisingly small in the daylight. The sushi was wrapped in bamboo skin for simple packaging, which added a nice touch. The set included: 2 types of tuna, squid, shrimp, salmon roe gunkan, conger eel, egg, and rolled tuna. The price was 2000 yen for dine-in as well. Although the menu seemed a bit lacking, the all-tuna set was surprisingly delicious. The vinegar rice was tangy and salty, complementing the toppings well. The rice was cooked slightly firm, with each grain standing out and leaving a lasting impression. Local sushi places could learn a thing or two from the rice at this place.

I used the premium passport. The restaurant was very crowded, probably because many people were using the premium passport. Once inside, I was a bit anxious as I waited, unsure if my order had been placed. After waiting for over 30 minutes, the sushi finally arrived. The sushi at the counter looked very delicious! It was worth the wait, as every piece was very tasty! Especially the eel, it was so fluffy! I hope the other customers waiting were okay. It was understandable that the restaurant was busy, but it would have been nice to hear a word from the staff. Thank you for the meal! ♡
