The restaurant, which is said to be one of the oldest Sri Lankan curry shops in Tokyo, was established in 1991. Located just a few minutes' walk from Naka-Meguro Station South Exit, the exterior is easily recognizable, and upon entering, you are greeted with an authentic local atmosphere. For lunch, they offer a plate with a main dish, main curry, and side dishes, as well as curry sets. This time, I tried the "Mutton Curry Set" which comes with a choice of main dish and additional options. I added "Paratha" to my set, bringing the total to 1,160 yen. The set includes mutton curry, vegetable curry, jasmine rice, salad, dessert, and Paratha. The Paratha, a type of Indian bread made from wheat flour, had a soft and layered texture. The mutton curry was flavorful and refreshing, with a hint of South Indian influence. The vegetable curry was mild and creamy, thanks to the coconut milk. The jasmine rice was served on a large plate, allowing for the curry and salad to be enjoyed together. The owner mentioned that this way of eating is rare, but it is the standard in Sri Lanka. After finishing the meal, I was treated to a delicious original dessert made with sesame and cashews in a milk base. The flavor and texture were exceptional, making it a standout dish on its own. It was a delightful dining experience.
