The other day, during a conversation with RIGURAHI from MyRebi, we talked about this topic and I couldn't resist visiting "Sakura Nabe Nakae" (中江)さん. This is a long-established restaurant founded in Meiji 38, located right next to the famous Yoshiwara district near Yoshiwara Oomon. The neighboring restaurant, "Dote no Iseya," is also a longstanding establishment, creating a cool atmosphere with two old-fashioned shops side by side. Nakae-san, the owner, used to be known as a "horse-kicking seller" in the past, as people in Yoshiwara used to sell horses to enjoy themselves, and it was said that when horses were in a bad mood, they would kick the person behind them. Currently, they are known for their cherry blossom meat and horse meat, but you could also casually say, "Let's go to the horse-kicking seller," which sounds cool. I made a reservation through Tabelog and visited the restaurant. The restaurant, a registered tangible cultural property, has a charming atmosphere that resonates with the civilization of the Meiji era. However, the order was placed through a touch panel (laughs). Today, I had booked the ultimate course, which included the best horse meat. We started with a toast with bottled beer. Oh, the glass had the names of Asahi Beer and Mitsuya Cider (゚д゚)‼️ We enjoyed the stewed cherry blossom meat tendon and horse sashimi (loin) first. The horse meat tasted so good that if you didn't know it was horse meat, you would think it was just beef (laughs). The horse sashimi was pleasantly resilient and very tender, a delicious meat. Next, we had the Tarotaro Yukke and red and white sushi! The famous Tarotaro Yukke was a dish requested by the third-generation owner from the artist Taro Okamoto, who said, "Art is an explosion!" Well, it's just regular Yukke, but because it's horse meat, you could call it a Tartar Steak, I guess (^ ^)♪ The red and white sushi allows you to enjoy both loin and belly meat. Next, we enjoyed the ultimate cherry blossom meat topped with sea urchin and salmon roe! It had no distinct flavor, so it didn't get boring, and we added seafood for a change of taste (^ ^) We then had a smoked horse meat Caesar salad to refresh our palates (^ ^). Finally, the cherry blossom tenderloin steak with foie gras was served. Oh, the horse meat steak was my first time, and it would definitely beat regular beef (゚д゚)‼️ The foie gras combined with the superb red meat made it outstanding (^ ^)‼️ Finally, it was time for the cherry blossom hot pot! A stylish pot was brought out, and we first enjoyed the meat alone. It was like sukiyaki, and it was delicious (^O^) After enjoying the vegetables and tofu in the pot, we savored the caramelized fatty part. As we approached the end, we ordered a half-size of the tenderloin meat sashimi and finally had the finishing rice dish. The horse meat broth from the pot was poured over rice, with cherry blossom meat, tofu, and egg creating a fluffy base. It was delicious, and there was no way it could taste bad (^O^)♪ Yoshiwara was ablaze with excitement (laughs). Sometimes it's nice to dine at a restaurant that makes you feel the history. After this, there was a burlesque show, so I'm glad I didn't succumb to the temptations of Yoshiwara (laughs). It was a great meal reminiscent of the Showa era, or even the Meiji era. Thank you for the meal (^O^)ノ
