In October in Tokyo, we visited a restaurant called Shirin Gol in the Sugamo area, which was featured in last year's "Solitary Gourmet Season 9" and had been on my bucket list. It's a Mongolian cuisine restaurant where we indulged in lamb dishes. Here is my review: The restaurant is within walking distance from Sugamo Station, located in a residential area. You descend underground to enter the restaurant, where the decor is done in Mongolian style and the raised seating area adds a nice touch. For our first visit, we opted for the standard "Shirin Gol Course" priced at 3,600 yen. The menu offers a variety of options, including some unique and exotic Mongolian dishes. The course included Mongolian milk tea with rock salt for flavor adjustment, fried bread dipped in milk tea, a trio of appetizers from Inner Mongolia, lamb meat dumplings, steamed lamb buns, bone-in lamb meat simmered in rock salt, lamb meat udon, and a dessert of steamed buns with sheep fat served with condensed milk. The highlight for me was the bone-in lamb meat dish, where you shave off the meat with a knife. The flavor was rich and simple, with a good balance of fat and a delicious dipping sauce. The lamb dishes were a delight for any lamb lover, and the meal ended with a satisfying bowl of udon and a tasty dessert. Overall, it was my first experience with Mongolian cuisine, and I was truly impressed by the authenticity and deliciousness of the lamb dishes. I look forward to revisiting to try more dishes from their menu. It was a fulfilling and enjoyable dining experience.

Discovered this restaurant through "The Lonely Gourmet". Probably wouldn't have gone if I hadn't seen it on TV. Mongolian cuisine, couldn't imagine it. It was a feast of lamb! The evening atmosphere was really nice! We ordered the course menu, which was a huge amount. We couldn't finish it all, so they kindly wrapped up the leftovers for us. Everything was delicious!

If you want to eat delicious lamb meat, this is the place to go. The rice was delicious, and the decor had a foreign feel to it. The atmosphere was surprisingly calm, making it enjoyable to savor the dishes. We ordered the course menu, and every dish was delicious. The lamb belly meat had little gamey flavor and the meat's fat was tasty. The spare ribs were prepared in a way that extracted the richness without being overwhelming. Each dish was not too large in portion, so we thought about ordering more, but by the end of the course, we were pleasantly full, and the portion sizes were just right.

I had a full course meal of lamb dishes! Each dish had a unique seasoning that I had never tried before, and it was both educational and delicious. The restaurant is well-known and has been featured in "The Lonely Gourmet". Although a bit pricey, I would definitely want to visit again. It's a place where you can fully enjoy different flavors of lamb.

I went to "Shirin Gol" with my colleagues to enjoy Mongolian cuisine. The nearest station is Sugamo, about an 8-minute walk away. The restaurant is located in a semi-basement in a residential area a short walk from there (rated 3.52 on Tabelog). We have visited several Mongolian restaurants in Tokyo before, such as "Ulan Bator," "BAO," "Aozora," "Mori no Hall-ya," and "Mishell," as we all love lamb dishes. This time, we finally visited this famous restaurant featured in "The Lonely Gourmet." We ordered Course A (3600 yen excluding tax), which includes dishes like Boze (lamb dumplings) and lamb cooked with rock salt, typical Mongolian dishes. Personally, I was a bit disappointed that they didn't have other dishes like Hoshor (lamb pie) or Tsuivan (lamb noodle stir-fry) that are usually found in other Mongolian restaurants. However, the portion size was sufficient for enjoying with drinks, and I think it's satisfying. They also offer Arhi (vodka), commonly consumed in Mongolia, for around 300 yen per glass, which goes well with the food. From 8 pm, there is also a performance of the horsehead fiddle, creating a Eurasian grassland atmosphere. Considering the cost of around 7000 yen per person, this restaurant offers good value for money. While there are many Mongolian restaurants in Tokyo now, each with its own charm, I highly recommend Shirin Gol as one of the best choices.

The number of seats is not very large, so reservations are essential. It was fully booked even on the day we visited. On weekends and holidays, they offer a set menu with the option to add lamb shabu-shabu to the basic course. The B course includes the lamb shabu-shabu and the same amount of other dishes as the A course, so you will definitely be very full with the portion of one person plus the lamb shabu-shabu. When we, a group of four women, finished the large boiled lamb with salt and then had a lot of lamb shabu-shabu and udon, some of us couldn't finish everything. For men, it would be just right, and the cost performance is really good. Being able to eat the boiled lamb with salt sprinkled with rock salt is quite rare, and the side dishes are delicious too. The fried bread-like dish had a taste and texture that were satisfying. We were so full towards the end that we couldn't fully appreciate the flavors, which was a shame. The location of the restaurant is in a residential area and slightly hard to find (but the roads are not too complicated so you won't get lost), but I definitely want to go again and invite someone along. There was also a mini concert with a horse-head fiddle, and I was moved by the wide range of Mongolian music (horse-head fiddle performance).

I watched "The Lonely Gourmet" and when I arrived at the restaurant, it was showing as fully booked for the day. However, when I asked, they let me in. They only had set menus on weekends, so I asked if there was a Goro-san course, and they said it was mostly included in the B course, so I ordered that. There were reviews saying there was no lamb smell, but there was a slight hint of lamb flavor. The staff were kind and helped me with how to eat Mongolian cuisine, so I was able to enjoy it even though it was unfamiliar to me. The highlight, Chansanmaha, was best enjoyed with freshly shaved rock salt to savor the meat. There were so many dishes that I ended up feeling full! Thank you for the meal. B course ¥5170 (tax included)

I ordered the A course (3,980 yen) which includes unlimited Mongolian milk tea without sugar, which is great. The South Mongolian style cold dishes were all well-prepared: tofu and cucumber with garlic, stir-fried bamboo shoots and bell peppers. The Chansanmaha, salt-boiled lamb, was served for self-cutting with a knife while wearing plastic gloves, making you feel manly. The taste was excellent. The lamb dumplings were chewy with a flavorful filling, best enjoyed with black vinegar. The Boz, steamed lamb buns, were similar to xiaolongbao with juicy meat filling. The stir-fried lamb with black vinegar had a rich flavor but left a slightly sticky feeling in the throat. The lamb noodle soup made with lamb broth was delicious. For dessert, fried bread made with lamb fat was served with condensed milk, which was tasty. Everything was delicious and the cost performance was quite good.

Visited with a friend who lives in Sugamo. I had no prior knowledge of Mongolian cuisine, so I decided to go without any preliminary information and look forward to seeing what kind of dishes would be served. The red lunch mat with a sheep bone chopstick holder added to the Mongolian atmosphere even before the food arrived. Since I wasn't sure about the portion sizes, I opted for the simplest course. First, a slightly salty tea was served, followed by a bowl of four appetizers. Each dish, such as cucumber salad and boiled dumplings, was seasoned perfectly and delicious. The highlight was the lamb with bones. The piping hot meat was sliced off with a knife through gloves, then topped with a soy vinegar sauce. It was satisfying without any strong flavors. The meat udon was also delicious. I feel like there were other dishes served, but enjoying some drinks made it a great experience. For dessert, there was a fried bread-like dish drizzled with condensed milk, which was also amazing. It seems that it has become more difficult to make reservations on weekends since Inogashira Goro from "The Lonely Gourmet" visited, but it was a moderate crowd on this weekday, allowing us to relax and enjoy our meal.

On weekends, it seems that only set courses are offered, so this time I ordered Course A (3,600 yen). It includes most of the standard dishes at Shirin-Gol and is recommended for first-time visitors. The "Bone-in Lamb Meat with Rock Salt" that I always want to eat when I come here seems to be included in all courses. The milk tea is also included in the course, which adds to the value. I visited on Sunday at 7 pm, but there was no horsehead fiddle performance that day, so it seems to vary depending on the day. I had never ordered the noodles or fried bread dessert a la carte, but they were crispy and delicious!

Gorou Inogashira-san's pilgrimage to the holy land continues. Last week, he visited a Mongolian cuisine restaurant in Sengoku, which was established in 1995 and has been famous for Mongolian cuisine in Tokyo since before the broadcast. Luckily, he was able to make a reservation for Saturday, albeit a bit late. The interior of the restaurant had a nice atmosphere with its unique world view. He ordered the A course for 3,600 yen, which is only available on weekends. The first dish served was hot milk tea, followed by three appetizers - shredded potatoes stir-fried, tofu and leek stir-fry, and Mongolian wood ear mushroom. Surprisingly, the Mongolian dishes weren't as spicy as expected. The main dish was bone-in boiled lamb called Chansanmaha, which was served hot and delicious. It was actually mutton, not lamb, and was tender and flavorful. He also tried the lamb dumplings and soup dumplings, both with a distinctive aroma due to the lamb meat. The Mongolian cheese on the menu caught his attention, which is a traditional cheese made by Mongolian people in Nasu Kogen. It had a mild yogurt-like flavor and could be enjoyed with milk tea. Returning to the course, he had stir-fried lamb belly with leeks, which was a perfect combination. The meal ended with lamb noodle soup made from the lamb meat broth and hand-pulled noodles. For dessert, they served fried bread, which everyone referred to as Mongolian donuts, to be eaten with condensed milk. Overall, it was a satisfying meal with a variety of lamb dishes, although he couldn't try everything on the menu. The restaurant had reasonable prices and a good atmosphere. Live horsehead fiddle performances are usually held every other day, but unfortunately, there was none on the day of his visit. In conclusion, Gorou enjoyed the Mongolian cuisine experience and is looking forward to trying more dishes in the future.

Shiringoru (4-11-9 Senkoku, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo) The 131st round of "The Lonely Gourmet" visiting the store! From the first episode of "The Lonely Gourmet" to Season 8, excluding closed stores, stores that refuse solo customers, and Taiwanese and Korean stores, as well as all stores other than the main story, the 2016 New Year's special, the midwinter Hokkaido, Asahikawa business trip edition, and the same as the Miyagi business trip edition in August 2016, the 2017 New Year's special, Inogashira Gorou's long day, and the 2017 New Year's Eve special of "The Lonely Gourmet" ~ Eat and close! Narita-Fukuoka-Busan Bullet Business Trip Edition" broadcast on New Year's Eve 2019, and "The Lonely Gourmet 2020 New Year's Eve Special There are four stores that appeared in "My meal is not confidential Lonely Fireworks Operation!" ... Regardless of stores and popular stores across the country, I have conquered them one after another, and my next mission is to ... When I thought my homework was done, there is more homework. The Lonely Gourmet also does not let the wandering traveler have an easy time (bitter smile). If you've come this far, you have pride. All right, bring it on! In the 11th episode of The Lonely Gourmet Season 9, Inogashira Gorou visited a store in Senkoku, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo ... Regardless of time and society, filling hunger with happiness for a moment, he becomes selfish and free. Eating without being disturbed by anyone, without worrying about others, is an act of solitude that can be said to be the best healing given equally to modern people. * From the opening talk of the live-action version of the drama "The Lonely Gourmet" The journey to visit The Lonely Gourmet's store is now in its 131st round. From the south exit of JR Sugamo Station, head towards Otsuka along the Yamanote Line tracks, turn left at the end and enter Edobashi Street, and the store is located on the left corner of the street a little ahead. Opened in 1995, "Shiringoru" is a real store introduced in Season 9, Episode 11 of The Lonely Gourmet, "Chansanmaha and Lamb Jajangmyeon in Sugamo, Toshima-ku, Tokyo." After the broadcast of The Lonely Gourmet, it tends to get crowded, so I visited after a break. I made a reservation, but since the table where the protagonist Inogashira Gorou (played by Yutaka Matsushige) sat was a 4-person table, I chose a large oval table with shared seating as I was visiting alone. Looking around the store, the actor Kono Masayuki, who played the role of the store owner in the drama, was not there (laughs). When visiting the store featured in The Lonely Gourmet, there is no need to hesitate in choosing the menu because I always order the same menu as the protagonist Inogashira Gorou. However, since Inogashira Gorou always eats quite a variety of dishes, I usually order the dish featured in the title of the program. A SET 3,500 yen Boltsuk The Boltsuk, which is like an appetizer, is said to be a non-sweet Mongolian donut. It's quite dense and firm, but indeed not sweet, which seems to go well with the dishes. Chansanmaha - Lamb with Bone Rock Salt Boiled This is the most representative dish in Mongolia. Enjoy while shaving the meat with a knife! Knife handling is a good criterion for a good man. Shaving the meat with a knife, this is Mongolia, Japan. This part has a chewy and powerful texture. This sauce is good. The more you chew, the more it matches the meat. This is the crystallization of the rich wisdom of Mongolian nomads. Ah, the pose of the great grassland lamb. Lamb Steamed Bun A popular Mongolian dish with lamb, green onions, Chinese cabbage, and ginger inside, and only wheat flour and water for the skin. After ordering, stretch the skin, wrap the filling, and steam it. Wildly inhale and the inside is super hot, but delicious. What is this meat juice, Niagara? The skin is chewy, and the strong aroma and taste of lamb and wheat are firmly intertwined. Lamb Jajang -

I have been curious about the Mongolian cuisine in Sugamo since watching "The Solitary Gourmet" - a hidden underground restaurant located in a residential area about a 10-minute walk from Sugamo Station. I made a reservation and finally entered the restaurant! The table setting is lovely ❤️ Starting with Mongolian cold dishes: - Potato and green pepper cold dish - Cucumber and garlic cold dish - Tofu and green onion cold dish The specialty of Shiringol: - Chansanmaha - bone-in lamb meat cooked with rock salt, incredibly delicious! - Lamb heart with wasabi and soy sauce, tender and tasty - Shiringol sandwich - like eating Peking duck, also delicious - Mongolian cheese khuroot, light and tasty with Mongolian rock salt - Boze - lamb meat bun, similar to a large soup dumpling, very flavorful - Heer San Mantu - steamed bread with condensed milk, crispy and sweet - Mongolian milk tea with Mongolian salt, a light milk tea perfect for after the meal Everything was delicious and I would love to come back for more! #Shiringol #SugamoGourmet #SugamoDinner #SugamoMongolianCuisine #MongolianCuisine #LambDishes #TokyoMongolianCuisine #TheSolitaryGourmet

This time, I went to my wife's cousin's house for dinner with four people. I searched the internet and found a Mongolian restaurant called Shirin Gol, which was 600 meters away. I asked the others if they were okay with lamb meat, and everyone was fine with it. I made a reservation over the phone, and the restaurant staff informed me that the "Chansanmaha" - bone-in lamb meat with Mongolian rock salt - required a reservation, so it wouldn't be available on the day. Other dishes were okay. We made a reservation for 7:00 pm. At that point, I didn't realize that this was the restaurant featured in the TV show "The Lonely Gourmet" with the actor Yutaka Matsushige. It was a coincidence that we ended up at the same table where the character Inogashira Gorou sat in the show. I checked the restaurant on Tabelog and found about 100 reviews with an average rating of 3.50 as of July 2022. However, the website where I found the restaurant had over 130 reviews with an average rating of 4.50. Some reviews mentioned that Mongolian sumo wrestlers often visited the restaurant, so it seems to be a local favorite. I had been to Inner Mongolia once in the past and remembered having hot pot and grilled skewers. This time, we were seated at the same table where Inogashira Gorou had sat, which felt like fate. We started with drinks, and I ordered a bottle of red wine. The table had Mongolian rock salt, Boltsuk (Mongolian unsweetened donuts), and dried jujube (large red dates). We enjoyed the jujube and Boltsuk with the wine. The jujube had a gentle sweetness, not as sweet as dates, making it a healthy option. For appetizers, we had pea shoots with olive oil, lamb meat barshi (lamb meat dumplings), lamb meat bows (steamed lamb meat buns), and Hojol (fried lamb meat dumplings). The lamb meat dishes were delicious, and the black vinegar from Zhenjiang paired well with them. I was fortunate to try the Chansanmaha (bone-in lamb meat with rock salt), the restaurant's signature dish. It was a wild and flavorful dish, reminiscent of the pork rib soup from Singapore's hawker stalls. We also had tomato and egg stir-fry, a simple yet tasty Chinese dish. For the finale, we had lamb meat Zhajiang noodles, which were hearty and delicious. The minced lamb meat, sweet bean sauce, and cucumber strips mixed together perfectly. It was a fantastic way to end the meal. I would love to visit this restaurant again if I have the chance. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I really wanted to try bone-in lamb, so I made a reservation a month in advance. The earliest available reservation on a Saturday was one month later, which shows how popular the restaurant is. When I arrived at the reservation time, I saw a sign saying the restaurant was fully booked. The restaurant was not very big, and I was seated in a back tatami room. The table was already set with plates, rock salt, and fried bread. I ordered the recommended Syringa course. The meal started with Mongolian milk tea, followed by appetizers like salad, tofu, and cold potato dish. As I was serving myself, a wild bone-in lamb boiled in salt was served. I cut the meat with a survival knife and ate it, experiencing a truly wild and continental dish. The meat was tender, flavorful, and not gamey at all. Even people who don't like lamb might enjoy this. Except for the appetizers, all dishes were lamb-based. They were served one after another, and I finished in just an hour since I don't drink alcohol. The portion and taste were satisfying! Lamb meat is low in calories and high in protein, so you can enjoy it without worrying about fat. I would love to revisit to enjoy the wild lamb meat again! It was delicious. Thank you for the meal!

On a holiday at 6:00 p.m., I had a reservation in Bunkyo-ku, Senkoku. The nearest station is Sugamo Station, about an 8-minute walk away. I had been wanting to try the Mongolian cuisine that Goro was eating, and my dream came true on my first visit. Since it seemed like it wouldn't be as enjoyable alone, I decided to take a leisurely walk from Jujo Station, stopping by a standing bar run by an acquaintance before arriving. The restaurant is semi-basement with a cozy atmosphere. There are probably no counter seats, a few table seats on the left side, and two table seats on the right side. We chose a table seat, and placed the following orders: - Harbin beer (winter limited edition) 550 yen - Green juice highball 550 yen - Highball 700 yen - Chansanma (bone-in lamb with rock salt) 1,700 yen - Shilin Gor sandwich (4 pieces of skin) 1,100 yen - Potato and green pepper cold dish 450 yen - Lamb banshi (lamb dumplings) 900 yen - Lamb brain 900 yen - Shurtehole (lamb udon) 1,000 yen - Air-dried beef 600 yen - Heelsan mantou (fried steamed bun) 600 yen - Sutetsai (Mongolian milk tea) 350 yen Since it's Mongolia, the menu is mostly lamb dishes. As a sheep lover, I was in heaven. The menu overlapped a lot with Goro's order, but that's okay. The lamb meat simmered in rock salt was so delicious that I could eat it every day. The staff suggested serving a two-person portion since there were four of us, but they recommended a one-person portion for each dish if we wanted to try a variety of dishes. Another must-try item is the Shilin Gor sandwich. It's like a tortilla with lamb, cucumber, scrambled eggs, and miso sandwiched inside. The miso had a familiar taste, reminiscent of sweet miso like tianmianjiang or Nagoya-style miso. I also couldn't resist ordering the lamb brain, which had a texture similar to shirako, but the taste was a bit subtle. The drinks included green juice highball, which surprisingly had a sweet taste, and the highball was served generously in a 500ml whiskey + water PET bottle. The domestic wine ordered by the gourmet husband had a classic sweetness and came in a 1.8L bottle. We also received a complimentary fried bread-like appetizer, which was deliciously sweet and made me worry that if I ate too much, I would get full and reduce their sales. The gentleman who seemed to be the owner had a charming character, making the restaurant feel very endearing. Even if you're not a fan of Mongolia, I would recommend this place, especially for lamb lovers. I would love to visit again, but it seems a bit challenging for me to fully enjoy it alone or with just one other person. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I ate eel at Aikawa in Takadanobaba, and then had pudding at Omotenashamoji in Nishi-Waseda. After that, I took the Toden Arakawa Line and did some early cherry blossom viewing at Asukayama Park. I took trains and walked around until I arrived at my final destination in Sugamo, a Mongolian restaurant called Shirin Gol. The restaurant didn't look like a Mongolian restaurant from the outside, but it seemed to have sheep dishes. The menu had names of dishes I had never heard of before. The restaurant was quite popular, with a full house sign outside. I was led to a tatami room with a large red table in the back. It seemed to be the first Mongolian restaurant in Japan, and it was my first time trying Mongolian cuisine. I found out about the restaurant from the show "Kodoku no Gurume." I have visited other restaurants that Goro-san had been to in the past. The menu had a wide variety of dishes, and the staff recommended the course meals for a better deal. However, this time I decided to order a la carte. The bread that was placed on the table from the beginning looked like ginger at first, but it was actually fried in sheep fat, similar to a donut but not as sweet. It was delicious and had a unique addictive taste. There was also rock salt for seasoning. I ordered Harbin beer, which was light in flavor, and a glass of Inazuto wine, which had a grape-like flavor. I also tried the potato and bell pepper cold dish, which was crunchy and slightly spicy. The signature dish, Chansanmaha - bone-in lamb cooked in rock salt, was very fatty but delicious. I also tried the Shirin Gol sandwich, which was like Beijing duck with various fillings wrapped in dough. It was tasty and familiar, with a sweet miso sauce. Lastly, I had the lamb dumplings, which had a burst of lamb fat and were served with black vinegar. The flavors were unique and different from the other dishes.

Grandma's Harajuku/Sugamo. I had heard about a delicious lamb restaurant there a long time ago and finally my wish came true...!! But the quiet residential area leading to the restaurant made me wonder, "Is this really the right way?" I had a reservation from 6 p.m., so it wasn't even that late at night, but I didn't pass by a single resident on the way to the restaurant. It was so quiet that I almost thought it was a ghost town, haha. So when I saw the light from the restaurant, I felt relieved for no reason. Oh, the atmosphere is great from the entrance! It seems like a restaurant that appeared in "The Lonely Gourmet." I've never seen it though. The table setting is kind of cute too. I have high expectations!! And they have Heartland beer!! Thank goodness...!! The appetizer was like a slightly sweet donut. And almost all the menu items are lamb dishes. So hard to choose! I decided to order the salt-boiled lamb with bones and the stir-fried lamb with glass noodles. Soon, the wild meat arrived!! I can't resist this sheepy smell ♡ I desperately dipped the meat in the sauce and ate it, and it was so delicious!! It's an endless amount of meat that rivals Kanda Ajibo's salt-boiled dish! The stir-fried glass noodles were also delicious, and not only the taste of the lamb but also the slightly thicker and chewy noodles were perfect for me. The skewers were a bit small for the price, but they were really tasty!! There are a few dishes that I forgot to take pictures of because I was so into eating, but everything, including the udon at the end, was delicious without any mistakes!! The price was surprisingly reasonable considering how much we ate. If you go with people who don't drink much, the price might be a bit high. But if you can enjoy a variety of delicious lamb dishes like this, there's nothing to complain about. I'm very satisfied! I will definitely come back to try more dishes!! Thank you for the meal!!

A shop located in a residential area about a 10-minute walk from Sugamo Station. I made a reservation for a Sunday afternoon in early November at 8:30 pm. The shop was quite popular, likely due to the influence of "The Lonely Gourmet," and earlier time slots were already fully booked for the day. There was a warm light coming from inside the shop, with a menu displayed outside. Inside, there were table seats, counter seats, and a seating area where you could see the whole shop. There seemed to be regular customers chatting happily with the staff, creating a cozy and welcoming atmosphere. The tables were already set with plates, cups, water, rock salt, and twisted bread. The shop was decorated with books, paintings, and fabrics related to Mongolia, giving a slight feeling of traveling. There was a special set menu called "Gorou-san Set" for two people at a reasonable price of 7500 yen. The following is the menu for one person, and when ordering for two people, an additional dish would be included, making it quite a substantial meal. The dishes included Salted Milk Tea, Cold Potato and Green Pepper Salad, Cylindrical Sandwich, Chansanmaha (Salted Lamb with Bones), Lamb Dumplings, and Lamb Jajangmyeon. The dishes were served one after another, filling up the table quickly. The Salted Milk Tea was not too sweet, which complemented the rich flavors of the dishes. The Cold Potato and Green Pepper Salad had a robust flavor and a crunchy texture. The Chansanmaha (Salted Lamb with Bones) required cutting the meat from the bone, and despite its appearance, the meat was tender and delicious. The Cylindrical Sandwich was a highlight, filled with various ingredients and a savory miso-like sauce. The Lamb Dumplings were large and juicy, bursting with flavor. Overall, the food was delicious, and I would love to visit again.

The restaurant featured in "The Lonely Gourmet" in Sugamo. I visited the restaurant on a weekday night, a day before the TV broadcast, making a reservation by phone in advance. It's recommended to confirm availability by phone just in case. Since there were two of us, we were seated comfortably in a spacious tatami room. The restaurant has a Mongolian atmosphere in some areas. Now, here's what we ordered: - Chansanmaha: Boiled lamb with bones. Wearing plastic gloves, we shaved off the meat with a knife in a wild manner. However, it was too hot to handle and the meat was a bit difficult to eat (probably the back bone). - Shirin Ghor Sandwich: Lamb in the style of Peking duck. Lamb meat wrapped in vegetables and eggs in a skin. It's best to put plenty of ingredients for better taste. - Boze: Steamed lamb bun. Hot and juicy with meat juice. It's recommended to try to eat it in one bite. - Lamb Jajangmyeon: Lamb meat miso with cucumber and noodles mixed well. The noodles are thick and chewy like udon. It might be crowded for a while due to the influence of TV, but since it's within reach, I might come back when it's calmer. [Instagram] https://www.instagram.com/p/CT2JHOav02Q/

In September 2021, for dinner, I went to a restaurant in Sugamo. I got off at JR Sugamo Station, exited from the south exit, crossed "Hakusan Street," and headed towards Sengoku. Along the way, I turned right onto a street and found the restaurant I was looking for, called "Shirin Gol," near "Toyo Women's High School." This restaurant was featured in episode 11 of "The Lonely Gourmet Season 9," which aired on TV Tokyo on September 17, 2021. It was my second experience with Mongolian cuisine, after "Mongolian Cuisine Ulan Bator," a restaurant from a country I had never visited before. I made a reservation over the phone before visiting, and upon arrival, I was seated at a large table with partitions, after sanitizing my hands. For this meal, I had: 1. Appetizer - Mongolian unsweetened donuts, Boltsuk, for 300 yen including tax. 2. Chanmanhasa (Salt-boiled lamb) for 1,700 yen including tax. 3. Lamb Baozi (Steamed lamb buns) - 3 pieces for 700 yen including tax. 4. Lamb Jajangmyeon for 1,000 yen including tax. 5. Meat miso daikon (Complimentary service). The dishes were delicious and the flavors were rich and authentic. The experience of eating the bone-in lamb meat and enjoying the unique taste of Mongolian cuisine was truly satisfying. The lamb buns, lamb jajangmyeon, and other dishes were all full of flavor and made the dining experience memorable.
