After a year and a half, I revisited the restaurant. I decided to add some Clerico to my extremely spicy beef and vegetable curry. Arriving for a late lunch at 1:40 PM, I thought I could easily get in, but there were three people waiting outside. After about a 15-minute wait, we got in. They had the menu posted outside, so I already decided on beef and vegetable with Clerico, but it's good not to rush as there are recommended dishes only posted inside. Among them, the pork belly barbecue and mushroom curry caught my attention, but I stuck to my initial choice. I had forgotten for a while, but the rice and curry here come in generous portions. The round flat dish of rice seems to be around 250-300g, and the gravy boat is generously filled, so there's plenty of curry. The beef is also sizable, with several large dice cuts, making it a good value for the price. And the taste of the curry is just outstanding! There's also Kashmir curry available, but the Indian-style curry here is quite light and has a roasted aroma, closer to Kashmir curry than the typical Indian curry found in Inner-Nepal restaurants. The spiciness, richness, and depth of flavor are simply fantastic. Occasionally having a cream croquette helps balance the sweetness, making the curry's spiciness even more enjoyable. You can't leave without trying their cream croquette at Jinkok. Around 2:20 PM, they announced that they would stop taking new orders due to the number of people waiting. With its recent recognition as one of the top hundred restaurants in 2022, it seems like it'll only get busier.

About a 6-minute walk from Kanda Station. Arrived at 11:20 AM. Already open and fully seated by 11:25 AM. Ordered today's recommended dish: Chicken and Vegetable Curry with Crab Cream Croquette for 1050 yen. The lunch menu and today's specials offer great value. The curry is somewhere between thick and runny, with three large pieces of chicken, onions, eggplants, and bell peppers. It's extremely spicy but deliciously stimulating. The freshly fried, hot crab cream croquette balances the spiciness with its sweetness, whetting the appetite. Overall, it was incredibly delicious. Thank you for the meal.

After finishing work in Kanda, I checked the time and it was 11:00. I decided to finally visit a restaurant I had been wanting to try. When I arrived at 11:15, there was already one person waiting to be seated. After a 10-minute wait, I got in. I ordered today's special curry, "Kashmir-style beef curry with vegetables," in extra spicy, along with crab cream croquettes and a bottle of beer. While sipping my beer, I watched the cooking for about 5 minutes. Then, the curry and rice, along with the croquettes, were served in a visually stunning presentation. I started with the croquette on top of the rice. The creaminess and aroma were exquisite, almost making me want to devour it all. I also tried the sauce and curry roux, but found that the croquette tasted best on its own. The main event, the Kashmir-style curry, was packed with ingredients, and the extra spicy flavor, while milder than Bombay's, was still fantastic. Eating it with rice enhanced the flavor even more. One charming aspect shared by all patrons of this place is that once they finish eating, they promptly leave, freeing up seats for the next customers. It seems they come here not to linger but to savor and appreciate the food before heading out. When I left, there were already over 10 people in line. Despite only being open for lunch, the high demand is understandable given the superb curry and crab cream croquettes. I'm already looking forward to my next visit and trying out a different curry!

I might be a bit late. Arrived around 11:30 and was about the 10th in line. It feels like even the air outside is spicy, as I feel a sneeze coming on while waiting. Today I chose the beef and vegetable curry from the Indian-style curry menu. Added a crab cream croquette. They recommended "extremely spicy" but warned it's quite hot, so I went with "spicy." The beef and vegetable curry came with a regular serving of rice. First, I tried the crab cream croquette. Hot! It was dangerously hot, crispy on the outside. Creamy inside. Delicious. Then the curry. The sauce was thin like soup curry. Spicy! It was so hot my tongue and throat started to hurt. At one point, the bell peppers in the dish looked like green chilies. I'm glad I went with "spicy"... As other reviewers have mentioned, the sauce had a sauce-like flavor. More like a numbing brown sauce, rich and flavorful, perfect for fried foods. Seems like a lot of people ordered "extremely spicy." Towards the end, I couldn't tell if the croquette was hot or if everything just felt hot from the spiciness. Haha. This place has unique and delicious dishes, so I'd like to try it again with "mild" next time.

Had lunch in Ogawamachi. Started lining up at 12:30 PM and waited for 20 minutes. Among several curry options, I chose the Indian-style chicken and spinach curry, recommended to be extremely spicy. Added the famous crab cream croquette as a topping, for a total of ¥1,160. After waiting a few minutes at the counter, I was served a large crab cream croquette and the curry, which had plenty of ingredients. The spiciness was quite intense, with a strong presence of spices. Eating the crab cream croquette, I found the crab flavor to be faint, but the cream itself was incredibly delicious. It paired well with the spicy curry. The staff was also polite, and I would frequent this place to try other curries if I came around this area more often. But alas, I don't visit this area much.

Arrived at the restaurant on a weekday afternoon. There were three people lined up outside. Inside, the space wasn't too big, but the staff were friendly and welcoming. They offer many value lunch sets, highly recommended. Many people seemed to be ordering the crab cream croquette. The curry was light and delicious. The portion was just right and very easy to eat. Getting crab cream at this price is a steal! Definitely want to come back to this place. Thank you for the meal. Crab cream croquette is a must for next time too!

Today, I ordered the recommended spicy minced meat and spinach curry with crab cream croquette. The curry is black and silky, with elements reminiscent of Kashmiri curry. It's a bit different from the usual curry, and opinions might be divided. However, the crab cream croquette is crispy on the outside and creamy on the inside, reaching the level of a Western-style specialty restaurant. Kanda is a fiercely competitive curry district, offering various types of curry. It's a city that curry enthusiasts can't resist.

Tried a delicious crab cream croquette at a nearby shop, "Jincock," known for its hearty and super spicy extra-large portion of pork cutlet with double crab cream. It's unbelievably tasty! 🦀🔥 #TokyoGourmet #KandaGourmet #Jincock #CurryGrandPrix #TabelogTop100

During lunchtime, this place is always packed, but today there were only a few people ahead of me in line. When a customer leaves, they call out the next person. It was my first time here, so I ordered the lunch set: pork cutlet curry. They have different levels of spiciness: "mild," "medium," "hot," "extra hot," and "extremely hot." I asked for mine to be "mild." They adjust the spiciness individually for each pot, and you can also order vegetables separately.

I had the extremely spicy chicken and vegetable curry, which seemed to be the base. It had chunky pieces of chicken and various vegetables, providing a satisfying bite. However, despite being labeled as extremely spicy, it wasn't that hot. It could be because my taste buds are accustomed to spiciness. Nevertheless, considering the generous portion, I believe it's quite expensive at 820 yen in terms of cost performance.

Jincock in Awajimachi is a somewhat exclusive place, only open on weekdays from 11:30 AM to 3:00 PM. I visited at 1:00 PM and was the 6th in line, getting in after about 10 minutes. I tried the Indian-style pork cutlet curry for 930 yen, with a large serving of rice for an additional 100 yen. The dish arrived within 10 minutes of seating, and the pork cutlet was quite large. I noticed the curry was on the thinner side, leaning towards a Kashmiri style, which seemed a bit more European-influenced to me.
I made a mistake with the large rice portion. The curry remained thin even after eating, and the recommended "extremely spicy" option had a refreshing spiciness. It's unique in taste, and I wondered what it was. After some thought, I concluded it might be a "spicy Worcestershire sauce." Apologies if this goes against the usual opinions of those who regularly eat Indian curry. The pork cutlet was crispy but the meat quality and flavor were average. I felt the compatibility with the curry was not perfect, so I tried adding the table sauce, and it turned out better. The large rice, which felt a bit excessive with the curry, became more manageable with the pork cutlet.
Still feeling a bit unsatisfied, I ordered an additional crab cream croquette for 240 yen. It had a crispy coating with a rich and flavorful white sauce inside. It was delicious on its own or with the sauce. This croquette is definitely a standout item. Overall, Jincock is recommended for those who like Delhi's Kashmiri or other thin and crispy curries. The cream croquette, enjoyed by many, is a solid choice for fried food.

Lunch Special: Large Portion of Pork Cutlet Curry with Crab Cream Croquette
The lightly textured Indian-style curry has a rich flavor, indicating it's been well simmered. The cutlet is crispy, complementing the curry sauce excellently. The crab cream croquette has a crunchy surface and a creamy filling. *Caution: Hot!

Visited around 11:30 on a weekday when a sudden brief rain shower occurred. The restaurant was fully occupied right after opening, with two people waiting outside. We were able to be seated in about 15 minutes. Opted for beef and vegetable Indian curry with a topping of crab cream croquette, choosing extreme spiciness. It had a soup curry-like feel with noticeable spice flavors. Thank you for the meal.

Visited Jincock at the A2 exit of Awajicho Station on the Marunouchi Line, just a minute's walk away after several years. It's a restaurant selected as one of the top 100 curry places. Arrived around 11:20 on a weekday, but it was already full. Waited for about 5 minutes to get a table. Ordered today's Chicken and Vegetable Curry for 820 yen, opting for the spicy version, and added Crab Cream Croquette for 240 yen. Total came to 1060 yen. Adding Crab Cream Croquette seems to be a must here, as most other customers were doing the same. Table condiments include sauce, spoon, pickled radish, and pickled sakura daikon. Curry was served after about 5 minutes of waiting. Poured the Chicken and Vegetable Curry over the rice with the Crab Cream Croquette on top. The curry included finely chopped onions, bell peppers, eggplants, potatoes, and three large pieces of chicken. Added some pickled sakura daikon as a palate cleanser. The curry was spicy and delicious! The chicken was substantial and satisfying. The Crab Cream Croquette was freshly fried, crispy, and hot, complementing the curry sauce well. It was a delicious meal.

Arrived around 1:00 p.m. on a weekday. There were two people waiting. Ordered the recommended Indian-style curry with minced meat and spinach (comes with crab cream croquette). The thin, black curry sauce was spicy and went well with the minced meat, making it tasty and easy to eat. It came with one crab cream croquette, which was rich and delicious.

I'm heading to Jinkok in Awajicho, which is only open on weekdays, taking a paid day off. It's about a minute walk from Exit A2 of Awajicho Station. I arrived at 11:30, the opening time, and there were already customers from the first round. There's a line of 7 people waiting outside. Some people here seem to have come during their lunch break from work, judging by their attire. After a 25-minute wait, I got in. The lady serving was very friendly. I ordered today's specialty, Kashmir-style curry with shrimp and a crab cream croquette, both spicy. It took about 10 minutes for the order to arrive. The curry is spicy, but not overwhelmingly so. It makes me sweat a lot when I drink water. Even though it's a regular portion, the rice portion is generous, almost like a large portion elsewhere. The crab cream croquette is piping hot and remains so till the end. The cream inside melts in your mouth and tastes delicious. Overall, it was a great experience.

Ordered the daily curry and fried chicken. The curry was delicious as expected, but the fried chicken was unexpectedly delicious and wonderful. It was freshly fried, with a good seasoning, so it tasted great even without mayonnaise.
