I have been enjoying the benefits of the SPG Amex card this year, which is a must-have for Marriott and hotel lovers. This time, I made a reservation for the White Snow Afternoon Tea, not for accommodation, but for enjoying afternoon tea at the hotel. The afternoon tea was not only Instagram-worthy but also delicious. A few years ago, I had a bad experience with afternoon tea at a certain Hilton hotel where the food wasn't great and it was overcrowded. So, I had some prejudice against hotel restaurants. However, this time at the Marriott hotel, I went on a weekday at 1 pm, and there were fewer people, so I could enjoy my meal in a calm atmosphere. The price was reasonable for the ambiance. As someone who is always on a diet, I am concerned about the calorie and balance of carbohydrates and fats when having afternoon tea. Honestly, the top tier and dessert plate were all sweets, so there seemed to be quite a bit of sugar. However, the light snacks in the bottom tier, such as salmon, lotus root, and pickles, were healthy and delicious. The dessert plate had cakes and macarons, but the portion was small. The mousse and jelly didn't seem to have too much sugar. This time, I skipped breakfast and went for afternoon tea, but I didn't gain weight. The recommended drink is, of course, the mango-scented black tea. It was delicious. You can also have refills, so I ordered a coffee for the second cup, which was okay in taste, probably made by a machine. As for the SPG Amex card, it came in handy during payment. When I mentioned that I was a Gold member, they gave me a 20% discount. It seems that you need to inform them to get the discount, so be careful. The hotel is about a 10-minute walk from the station, and there is a garden nearby where you can relax.
