The pain au chocolat was absolutely delightful. The crispy texture and strong buttery aroma of the dough were incredibly delicious. It's the best I've ever had. Plus, it was huge, providing a satisfying eating experience that made me feel happy. It ranks among the top for croissants too. I lightly reheated it, and it became soft and fluffy while still retaining that buttery aroma. Eating it, you get an airy yet chewy texture which is also exquisite. It's located on the second floor of the Intercontinental. Take the escalator shown in the 7th photo to get to the second floor, then head straight to the entrance. (There's a café right after you get off the escalator, just keep going straight.) Once you're inside the entrance, you'll see it towards the right. I got a bit lost and ended up taking the escalator to the third floor. I had no idea which floor I was on, haha. I went on a weekday around 10:30 am, so there weren't any other customers. The surrounding shops also seemed closed, giving off a somewhat dark vibe. Apart from bread, they also offer cakes, sandwiches, and you can buy coffee too. There are about three seats outside the shop for eating in. *Thank you for always checking out my reviews! If you like, please give it a thumbs up and save it as well. I'd be happy (≧∀≦)

◼️World-renowned three-star chef Pierre Gagnaire has produced a pastry shop at ANA InterContinental Tokyo, featuring the same recipes as his flagship store in Paris. Notable for the Brioche à Tête, famous for the quote "If there is no bread, let them eat cake (brioche)" (although it's clarified not to be Marie Antoinette's words). It uses abundant butter and eggs, setting it apart from regular bread, creating an exceptional taste! ◼️The shop accepts credit cards and opened in 2010. Pierre Gagnaire, a culinary master with three Michelin stars worldwide, is behind this pastry specialty store. Known for his avant-garde approach, he owns the three-star restaurant Pierre Gagnaire in the 8th arrondissement of Paris, Balzac. He has also earned three stars at "Sketch" in London. ◼️The service is attentive, and in the eat-in space, locals efficiently grab lunch.

Working in the suburbs, I felt like having some delicious bread. So I went to Pierre Gagnaire Pain et Gateau located inside the ANA InterContinental Hotel. I ordered the Truffle Salt Bread and the Pain au Chocolat, which cost a total of ¥770. The truffle aroma was rich, and the bread was generously buttery with a delightful salty kick. It was simply amazing. The Pain au Chocolat had a crispy crust and was also filled with plenty of butter, making it very tasty. In addition to these, the shop offers around 20 other types of bread and cakes. Just by trying two items, I could tell that everything must be delicious here. It's dangerously good—I could easily eat too much!

Arrived around 9:00 a.m. on Thursday. There were two customers ahead, but since it was for takeout, there wasn't much of a wait. When I asked the staff for recommendations, they suggested the raspberry croissant, pain au chocolat, and bacon epi. I opted for the pain au chocolat. It was 400 yen including tax. Upon tasting, the crust was crispy while the inside was moist, offering an excellent texture. The butter aroma was delightful, and the chocolate was delicious. Despite the slightly higher price, the taste was definitely worth it. I'd love to come back when I want to treat myself to a luxurious breakfast.

I found my way to a bakery inside the hotel and ordered a pain au chocolat for 400 yen. Despite getting a bit lost on the way, the pastry was still fresh with a nice crispiness. However, personally, I thought 400 yen was a bit pricey.

Located within the ANA InterContinental Hotel in Roppongi Ichome, this patisserie is curated by the renowned three-star chef, Pierre Gagnaire. First up, the truffle salt butter. Inside the brioche dough are truffle grains, with plenty of butter oozing out. Absolutely delicious! The dough itself is tasty, and you can feel not only the flavor of truffle oil but also the richness of overflowing butter, surpassing some famous stores easily. Then there's the Torude, a bacon and yuzu pepper flavored bread reminiscent of an epi. The quality of bacon is exceptional, and the dough has a resilient, chewy texture that's quite interesting. The smoked salmon croissant sandwich is surprisingly thin and moist, with a fluffy texture and a lemon-flavored cheese that melts in your mouth. The quality of salmon is high, and the butter adds a nice touch. Delicious indeed! The shrimp cutlet sandwich features thick shrimp cutlets sandwiched between brioche dough, tightly packed to the edges of the bread. Even the Croissant Café, a Vienna-style pastry rolled into a circle, has delicious café cream. Amidst its sweetness, there's a hint of coffee bitterness, and the hazelnut accent is delightful. The aroma of coffee is strong, and the dough, of course, is delicious. I definitely want to try their cakes too. What a high quality offering. Pierre Gagnaire is truly remarkable! 😋

I purchased a total of 800 yen worth of a "Croissant Raspberry" and a Brioche at Attest, located inside ANA Intercontinental Tokyo. I tried the croissant, and it was incredibly delicious. It was crispy, light, and had a subtle buttery aroma. As I continued to eat, the raspberry sauce oozed out in a delightful way. The combination of the tangy-sweet sauce with the crispy pastry exceeded my expectations. The mushroom-shaped bread was slightly sweet and tasty. There seems to be a fascinating world of other bread varieties, and I look forward to trying them in the future. It was truly delicious. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

I came to Akasaka and visited Pierre Gagnaire Pains et Gateaux at the ANA InterContinental Hotel. Thinking of Pierre Gagnaire reminds me of visiting the original store in Paris about a quarter of a century ago. I recall visiting when they opened a branch in Tokyo as well, back then it was in Minami Aoyama. Now they have a restaurant inside the ANA InterContinental Hotel. Pains et Gateaux is on the second floor, with its distinctive pink color leaving a strong impression. It was easy to shop as there were few customers on a weekday morning. I bought an almond croissant and a pain au chocolat, both of which were delicious. The almond croissant had a delightful almond flavor, and I personally appreciated the restrained sweetness of the pain au chocolat. I regretted not buying a plain croissant as well. It made me curious to try dining in the restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

The photo is of "Bonbon Chocolat 6 Pieces". The contents are as follows: ① Bergamot ② Earl Grey ③ Strawberry ④ Passion ⑤ Rocher Le ⑥ Caramel Mango. Among the fruit flavors like mango, passion fruit, and strawberry, there's a rich fruitiness with jelly or puree enclosed, perfectly balanced with caramel or milk chocolate. Personally, I prefer Earl Grey. Its layers of jelly and ganache evoke the aroma of drinking tea. Compared to Erika, a domestic chocolatier I adore on Platinum Street in Shirokanedai, each piece is delicate and small, leaving a fleeting and yet endearing sense of wanting more. I'd love to try their croissant if I get the chance!

I arrived for my first visit around 5 p.m., and there was only one customer already there. Despite the limited selection due to the time, I opted for the Matcha Latte Bun priced at 420 yen. The bun had a dense texture with a slightly firm surface, but the inside was delightfully soft and chewy. The dough, infused with matcha and milk, had a subtle sweetness and a pleasant matcha flavor. Although small, it was satisfying to eat. There were tables and chairs outside the shop where customers could enjoy their purchased bread, and two groups were already taking advantage of it. I didn't purchase any sweets this time, but there seemed to be a wide variety available, all of which looked of high quality. Overall, it was a delightful experience. Thank you for the meal! 🍵

I woke up a bit early and had breakfast at the Intercontinental Hotel from Roppongi-itchome Station. The hotel restaurant had mainly foreign families, and I was the only Japanese. I bought matcha croissant, salt truffle butter bread, and iced coffee, and had breakfast at a table in the hall. Is the variety of matcha-flavored bread for foreigners? I immediately took a bite of the matcha croissant. It was coated with matcha chocolate on the outside and filled with plenty of matcha cream inside. It goes well with black coffee. The other salt truffle butter bread is nicely oily with a perfect balance of saltiness.

A patisserie curated by the three-star chef Pierre Gagnaire. The recipe for the bread is said to be the same as the flagship store in Paris. ■ Order Details ◯ Matcha Croissant ¥417 A beautifully layered croissant with matcha cream inside, not just on the outside. It's obvious, but the matcha cream inside sets it apart from bagged bread. Rich matcha flavor, delicious. ◯ Truffle Salt Butter ¥343 When you break it open, you'll find such beautiful cream inside. It's a rich bread. ■ Misc. Notes A shop on the second floor of ANA Continental Hotel Tokyo. Beautiful bread that looks like art catches the eye. There's also a chef's restaurant on the 36th floor.

This is a shop located in the ANA InterContinental Hotel. They sell bread, cakes, and drinks, which can be enjoyed in the rooms by guests or at tables set up around the shop. On this day, I had the matcha and honey mousse cake. It's a dome-shaped matcha mousse cake with a layer of honey mousse on top resembling beeswax. I enjoyed it at one of the tables outside the shop. When I dug into the cake with a fork, I found a soft cookie base at the bottom. Inside the matcha mousse, there was sponge cake and a honey sauce, blending well in the mouth. The cake has a rich flavor, with the honey standing out unexpectedly strong. Personally, I think a milder taste would be preferable. Also, I had a café latte which was fragrant and delicious. If I have the chance, I'd like to try their bread next time.

Today's breakfast is at "Pierre Gagnaire Pan et Gateau" in Roppongi. I usually don't eat breakfast, except when I have time before a morning of entertaining golf or an early appointment. Why golf? Because breakfast at golf courses is notoriously overpriced. Who wouldn't hesitate at ¥1,500 for a Japanese set meal? But if it's on the company's tab, I indulge. When I have time before an early appointment, my morning routine involves savoring a cup of Seven Eleven coffee at my desk. I can't do that when heading straight to a client's place. So, breakfast spots pose a challenge, especially for a fan of spaghetti like me. That's why I opted for a bakery. Immersing myself in the wonderful aroma of yeast, I relax. I've never encountered a smoking-permitted bakery before. I chose "Pierre Gagnaire Pan et Gateau" on the 2nd floor of the ANA InterContinental Hotel, selected as one of the top 100 shops in 2022, representing authentic French bakery. When you think of France, it's all about croissants. I still remember the rich, fragrant croissant I had on City Island. The hotel lobby mainly caters to Westerners. In one corner on the second floor, a brightly lit shop appears early in the morning. Despite the array of delicious pastries, I head straight for the croissant (¥300). I grab one and head to the checkout. With a coffee (S size for ¥350), it totals ¥650, as expensive as a golf course. "This croissant is nicely baked. It lacks a fragrant aroma though. How does it taste?" I take a bite. "Crunchy on the outside, moist inside." It's not bad, but not exceptional either. The croissant is textbook-perfect, but lacks the aroma of butter. Just like how Japanese food is unbeatable in Japan, croissants can't beat France. I once watched a program about Japanese chefs struggling in Paris, unable to import authentic "bonito flakes" due to regulations. Without it, they couldn't make dashi, the essence of Japanese cuisine. It seems freshness is crucial for butter and wheat, just like fermentation and milling freshness.

It's located about a 2-minute walk from the ground exit of Toranomon Hills Station, on the 2nd floor of the Intercontinental Hotel. It's a bit tucked away at the far end of the 2nd floor, so it's not easy to spot. I visited around 10 a.m. on a weekday. There was only one customer outside. I bought a croissant, pain au chocolat, cream-filled pastry, and a brioche. Both the outside and inside were crispy. Everything was delicious.

ANA Intercontinental exudes the glamour of the Bubble era. I'd love to see the restroom too. It's not overly expensive, so even common folks can afford it. The iced coffee at 370 yen is a generous size and much appreciated. The classic croissant was large and had a satisfyingly crispy texture, very delicious.

I've been here a few times, at ANA Intercontinental Tokyo. This time, I bought two types of cakes and a seasonal croissant. Personally, I really enjoyed the pistachio cake—it was delicious! I also love their chocolate, which changes with the seasons and is always cute and delightful. ✨✨

I arrived before 7:00 p.m. on a weekday. Since heavy rain was forecasted for the next day, I came to buy lunch. Perhaps because of the time, it was not crowded and easy to choose. I purchased a Dutch (Camembert) for 340 yen and anko butter for 280 yen. I reheated the Dutch in the toaster before eating it! The melted Camembert cheese was deliciously gooey! The anko butter might divide opinions as the bread was a bit hard, but I still enjoyed it. The croissants also looked delicious, so I'll definitely come back! Thank you for the meal. *Credit cards accepted.*

"Pierre Gagnaire Pain et Gateaux" was selected as one of the top 100 bakeries in the bread section on Tabelog and is located on the second floor of ANA InterContinental Roppongi. The exterior of the shop has a glamorous atmosphere with a pink and black color scheme. You can also enjoy your purchase outside at a seating area. I tried their signature croissant and iced coffee. While the quality of the croissant and coffee was average compared to what I had imagined, it was still a pleasant breakfast experience. #PierreGagnairePainetGateaux #RoppongiMorning #RoppongiGourmet #DeliciousBread #Bakery #TokyoMorning #WantToConnectWithFoodies #GourmetTrip #DeliciousIsHappiness #FoodieFriendsWanted #FoodieClub #FoodLover #GourmetReport #FoodWriter #BGradeGourmetInfo #TokyoFoodCulture

Weekends around 11:30 am, many items seem to sell out quickly. Perhaps due to the location, there are quite a few foreign customers. - **Pain Brie** (¥380 including tax): This cute round bread with a vivid pink color contains fluffy and chewy strawberries and white chocolate. It has just the right amount of sweetness. - **Cacao Rye** (¥400 including tax): When sliced, it's surprisingly jet black! Crispy on the outside, chewy and fragrant with walnuts inside. The chocolate isn't overly sweet as expected.

I visited this bakery in search of delicious bread as part of my bread shop tour. It's located inside a hotel just a short walk from Roppongi Ichome! When I went, there were many foreigners, and I felt the atmosphere was nice. Although I was tempted by some cute sweets, I decided to go for the bread and enjoyed the red bean butter pastry in the lobby! It was really delicious. Highly recommended! I'd love to visit again if I get the chance.
