Linde-san in Kichijoji, which I've been visiting repeatedly. As usual, I purchased it at the Odakyu Department Store underground in Machida. This time, I decided to try their signature product, the pretzel, for the first time. - Roggen Volkornbrot: ¥594 In response to popular demand, we have reproduced Linde's original 100% rye Roggen Volkornbrot. Please enjoy this 100% whole grain rye bread. ⇨ I've encountered many 100% rye breads before, but this one is 100% whole grain rye. So, you can see lots of rye grains in the cross-section. When you bite into it, the grains burst in your mouth, giving it a satisfying texture. The acidity is mild, making it incredibly easy to eat. It's a German bread that you'd want to eat every day. Delicious~. - Pretzel: ¥189 Linde's signature product. No. 1 in popularity. We bring you the taste of authentic German pretzels. The unique fragrance of rock salt is irresistibly delicious. ⇨ It was my first time eating a pretzel itself. Although it looks firm, it has a crispy texture and is quite salty. It doesn't need butter or anything when used in a sandwich. It's a bread that can be served as a snack on its own. This is also delicious! I'd like to drop by again when I crave German bread.

Linde Honpo in Kichijoji is my favorite bakery. Their authentic pretzels are a unique delight. Their other German breads are also incredibly delicious, making it a bakery I keep coming back to. They have a cozy cafe space where you can relax and enjoy your time. My favorite drink there is the soy milk cappuccino. ♡

I arrived a bit early for a drinking party named Time Difference Father's Day & Respect for the Elderly Day Eve in Kichijoji, so I decided to make a detour to Linde Kichijoji after some consideration. Despite being a powerhouse of German bread selected for the 100 Best Shops in 2022, it's surprisingly a place I've never visited before. While I've been to Dandy's Son and Toho Bakery numerous times (laughs), I think I might have had a slight aversion to pure German bread. Since it was evening, most of their signature item, Bretzels, were sold out. However, luckily (?), I managed to get a selection of five different kinds of bread and headed to the checkout... "That will be 2,501 yen." Huh?! Even though the bread was on the smaller side... Anyway, I paid and when I checked the receipt outside the store, I was shocked to find out that the round Apfel-Nuss-Brot was 1,350 yen (@@) I didn't check the price tag. According to Linde, it's a "fruit bread made by roughly grating fresh apples into the dough. It's filled with plenty of dried figs, raisins, and walnuts, with a fragrance of rum and cinnamon, making it a luxury baked good." It seems I ended up purchasing something outrageous... However, the resolution of this story is... it was decided in a special family meeting to revisit during product expansion time after a relearning process in the near future!

Visit on 2023/09/10 (Sunday) at 12:22. The first-floor bread purchasing area was crowded with five or more customers. Due to takeout, I couldn't check the situation on the second-floor café area. I purchased Roggen Saft Brot (275 yen), Pretzel (175 yen), Bacon Prugel (200 yen), and Apfelstrudel (400 yen). - Roggen Saft Brot: I requested it to be cut into a half size as suggested by the staff. They also sliced it thinly at 8mm as recommended, resulting in 4-5 slices. It was delicious, especially when paired with cheese. - Pretzel: The most popular item. I haven't had many proper pretzels before, but this one had a good balance of saltiness and a hint of sweetness from the pretzel itself, making it delicious. - Bacon Prugel: There were small bits of bacon inside. Both the bread and bacon were fragrant, with a pleasant aroma. - Apfelstrudel: It was packed with apples, giving it a satisfying texture. Since they seem to participate in many events, even those with poor access to Kichijoji might have a chance to purchase it.

I came to Kichijoji for the second time. I visited this bakery again. My friend also likes bread, so I introduced this shop to them. It was around 1:00 PM on Saturday, and there were a lot of people lining up. But there were many types of bread today. I bought a set again, enjoyed the smell of wheat, and had a great time ( ^ω^ ) Bought a lot with my friend〜

A bakery in a shopping street that offers German-style bread, with a dining area on the second floor. Their most popular item is a pretzel, which is firm rather than soft and is reasonably priced despite being somewhat small (which is appreciated since pretzels have been expensive everywhere lately).

I used to come here often to buy bread, but this time I came for lunch. First, I secured a seat on the second floor, then ordered a lunch set and iced coffee at the counter on the first floor. I was given a number tag and went up to the second floor. When my order was ready, they called out my number. The onion soup was packed with the savory flavor of onions! It was very rich. The set came with three types of bread, authentic German bread. It had more volume than it appeared, and I was completely satisfied.

I came to Kichijoji and strolled along Sun Road, then visited this bakery. It's mainly a European-style (maybe German?) bakery with a focus on healthy options. Most of the bread has a wholesome feel, with a variety of rye and whole wheat options and fewer sweet breads. They provide calorie information for all the bread, catering to women on a diet. The bread set is around 750 yen, offering a diverse range of flavors. I love the aroma of wheat and nuts.

[Flavor: 3.9] Second visit. Ordered Pretzel Butter Sandwich and Baumkuchen. The Pretzel Butter Sandwich had a perfect balance of buttery richness and sweetness, not overwhelming, very delicious. Also, the Baumkuchen had a unique flavor with the blend of apricot jam and chocolate, something not commonly experienced elsewhere, equally tasty. [Service: 3.3] Polite service. [Ambiance: 3.6] Clean and spacious, allowing for a relaxed and comfortable dining experience.

The shop here seemed locally famous, with a long line of customers for takeout. Since I was short on time, I opted to have the famous pretzel and croissant for dine-in. The dining area was on the second floor, and the overall lighting was quite dim. There were mostly elderly customers, and the atmosphere wasn't particularly pleasant. I feel like it might be better to enjoy your favorite bread at home rather than dining in.

Linde Kichijoji Main Store is a selected shop in the Pan TOKYO Top 100 for 2022 on Tabelog. Despite prior information gathering about a German bread shop, upon entering, I was surprised to find a wide variety of hard German breads. As this visit was part of a food exploration, I was looking for pastries rather than large hard breads, so I purchased the following: - Pretzel: ¥175 Firm and crispy, with soft and chewy parts. Easy to eat with a simple and delicious taste. I really liked it. - Pretzel Butter Sandwich: ¥250 A Pretzel with butter sandwiched inside. Not spread all over, just on the thick parts. Guilty pleasure, but irresistibly good. - Baumkuchen: ¥400 Coated with chocolate and sold in the refrigerated section. Ate it before it melted. Sweet and harmonious combination of fluffy dough and chocolate texture. Absolutely delightful. - Kubisuburouto (Cubus Brot): ¥300 Pumpkin kneaded into a fluffy roll-like bread. Not very sweet, but slightly sweet, enjoyable on its own or with jam or butter. - Kaiser Kragen: ¥250 Danish pastry with chocolate inside and chocolate coating on top. If you love sweet treats, there's no way you won't like it. I love it. All the breads were delicious! The option for various cashless payments was convenient. There is an eat-in space on the second floor, and many people were seen buying bread and drinks and heading upstairs.

I had often heard about this famous bakery, so this was my first time making a purchase! The pretzel bread is renowned, and this time I got three items. The darkest-colored bread is the pretzel bread version, I heard. The others are a cheese bread and something like a butter roll. Each of them was around 200 yen, so the cost performance was quite good. Since it's a well-known bakery listed in the top 100, I had high expectations when buying, but the taste was quite simple. Regarding the butter roll, it's almost tasteless (^◇^;) I thought the pretzel bread would have a stronger salty flavor, but it also lacked much taste. The bread itself doesn't have a fine texture or a chewy consistency; it's more on the dry side, and it didn't really suit my taste. Maybe I made the wrong choices? Perhaps I should have purchased the pretzel, which is the shop's signature menu. In the end, I couldn't finish most of it (*´ω`*) It might be good for those who prefer simple types of bread.

I ordered the weekend-only Lindt Dog for 450 yen and blended coffee at a shop along the Sun Road in Kichijoji. I also got a take-out pretzel for 189 yen and enjoyed them on the second floor. The place offers lunch with bread, so it's popular among women. The Lindt Dog was bigger than I expected, about 1.5 times, and looked tough, but it was surprisingly soft and light, complementing the sausage well. The pretzel I had later had a unique taste, somewhat like salty dry bread, but it paired well with the coffee. Overall, it was a delicious meal. Thank you!

A small shop nestled in the shopping street. This time I opted for takeout, although they also offer dine-in options. Everything came neatly packaged, which was very hygienic. However, there wasn't much that caught my eye, so I only purchased three items. The standout was the butter-filled pretzel, with ample butter in the bottom part of the pretzel. It was delicious. The rest was nothing extraordinary, just decently tasty.

At my own pace, I explored the top 100 shops♪*゚I had lunch at a German bakery located along the shopping street in Kichijoji♡ You can enjoy freshly bought bread on the second floor, where there's an eat-in space. I bought a bacon bread and a butter-filled pretzel on a whim, and the butter pretzel I chose intuitively was amazing! The richness of the butter, the saltiness, and the pretzel's saltiness were superb! This indulgence is irresistible... The bacon bread was delightfully soft inside. The second-floor eat-in area is spacious, and the slightly retro atmosphere is charming. Including the eat-in space, it has become one of my favorite shops! Thank you for the meal!

Around 10 a.m. on Sunday, visit Kichijoji Station North Exit, and walk about 5 minutes along Sun Road, passing through one traffic light. On the left-hand side, there's a shop with no waiting. Inside, there's a pleasant smell of wheat. They have a tray-style setup where you pick your items. ◯ Pretzel - 175 yen ◯ Pretzel Butter Sandwich - 250 yen ◯ Russian Pretzel - 225 yen ◯ Kirschtaschen - 400 yen. All of them are simple and delicious. This time, it's for takeout, but there seems to be a café space for dining on the second floor. They seem to cut larger breads upon request. Be aware, there might be a queue, especially during peak hours.

When returning from Kichijoji, I decided to pick up breakfast for tomorrow as well, so I looked it up and came here. It's a bakery specializing in German bread, and they have plenty of pretzels, which is impressive. I got a butter-filled pretzel and a cheese roll to go. Both had just the right amount of saltiness, especially the butter-filled pretzel, which was delicious. Since the bread itself is already salty, they use a lightly creamy butter, which enhances the flavor. It was delicious!

I revisited because the bread I bought last time was delicious. This time, I came seeking Japan's best pretzel. It had a salty taste, with a slightly firm texture that felt like it would snap. The unique-shaped pretzel tasted the same but had more bread, making it chewier than a regular pretzel. The bread quality was still superb as always. It was my first time trying a pretzel, and it was delicious. I feel like I've climbed another step in adulthood.

In search of delicious bread, I visited Kichijoji for a tour of the top 100 shops. I stopped by this shop along the arcade street. The interior was bustling! It was incredibly popular. I bought a pretzel. Delicious! I'd love to visit again if I have the chance.

I visited a bread shop in Kichijoji in the early evening on a weekday. This time, I had a pretzel. It was crispy, salty, and very delicious. I would like to try other items next time. Thank you for the meal.
