"On our wedding anniversary, we celebrated by enjoying a lunch at 'Lumière Mont Okamoto,' a renowned French restaurant located in Omotesando. We made a reservation through the online booking system about 10 days prior and opted for the lunch course starting at 11:30.
The restaurant is conveniently situated about a 10-minute walk from Omotesando Station's A4 exit, surrounded by trendy boutiques, restaurants, and cafes, which made the stroll quite enjoyable.
Arriving a little before 11:30 on a Tuesday, we found a few groups already waiting, but we were seated within minutes of the opening. The interior is beautifully designed with predominantly white walls and wooden flooring, offering a cozy ambiance with seating for about 7 groups of 2 to 4 people.
We kicked off with a glass of wine and started our culinary journey. Here's a summary of our impressions of each course:
1. 'Asparagus Bavarois' - A refreshing dish with a gentle asparagus fragrance complemented by a flavorful broth jelly.
2. 'Poularde Onion Terrine with Chicken Liver Mousse' - An exquisite appetizer featuring tender, sweet onions and a delightful liver paste topped with a truffle-infused sauce.
3. 'Pan-Seared Foie Gras with Risotto' - A luxurious dish where the creamy risotto, flavored with mascarpone, perfectly balances the richness of the foie gras. The addition of generous truffle slices enhances both aroma and taste.
4. 'Pan-Seared Halibut' - The halibut, cooked to perfection, offers a succulent texture, accentuated by a tangy tomato-infused sauce.
5. 'Filet Mignon with Périgueux Sauce' - A hearty main course featuring tender filet mignon accompanied by an array of exquisitely prepared vegetables. Each vegetable, from white and red turnips to bell peppers, eggplants, zucchinis, potatoes, and asparagus, bursts with natural sweetness and flavors, impressing even those not particularly fond of vegetables.
6. For dessert, we savored a delightful 'Chicory Coffee Bavarois' with its smooth texture and perfect balance of sweetness from coffee-infused milk. Additionally, the dessert trolley presented around 10 options, allowing us to indulge in a variety of sweet treats. Among them, the cheesecake stands out for its rich flavor.
Before enjoying dessert, the chef personally greeted us, presenting a surprise anniversary plate—a touching gesture that added to our overall happiness. Both my spouse and I were thoroughly satisfied with the attentive service provided by the staff, who not only served with precision but also entertained us with their unique conversation throughout, ensuring we had a blissful lunch experience.
The only minor concern was perhaps the duration of the meal, with our lunch lasting until around 3 pm. However, given that it was a holiday, it didn't pose a problem. Overall, it was a memorable dining experience that we highly recommend trying."
