Tokyo Rocks
Visited this place about a year ago for dinner with friends. I joined midway, so I didn't eat much before leaving about 30 minutes later. However, my friends praised the fried horse mackerel here. When it comes to lunch, I have very clear preferences, and until now, apart from a notable place in Futtsu, I haven't been impressed anywhere in Tokyo. But since my friends were raving about it, it took me a year, but I finally revisited for lunch.
For lunch, they only serve fried horse mackerel, and whether mackerel is available and if they are open is not known until the day before. You can only find out by checking the website. Limited to 20 servings, the information is posted on the website, and you have to call immediately to make a reservation; otherwise, it's almost impossible to get a meal. So, the hurdle is quite high, and it took me about a year to come back.
This time, I was alone, so I decided to sit at the counter. About 15 minutes after giving my name to the owner, the fried horse mackerel set arrived. There are various condiments on the table, and with such a variety, you can enjoy it in many ways. Today's mackerel is from Kagoshima. Just by looking, you can tell it's a light type of frying, and when you actually taste it, the breadcrumbs are not heavy but light and crispy!
However, the most surprising thing was the deliciousness of the miso soup. It's been a long time since I had such delicious miso soup in a 1600 yen set meal. Rice is also available for seconds, and considering the overall atmosphere of the restaurant, it's a bit on the higher side for salarymen, but if you occasionally want a delicious lunch with fried horse mackerel, it's quite a deal. Let's visit again at night next time. Thank you for the meal.
