On October 29, 2022 (Saturday), I visited this restaurant with a female friend who came from Nagoya. On my previous visit, I tried the "Kara/Shibi extra spicy" at La Companion, but the intense numbness made it hard to taste the flavor. So, this time, I chose the "Kara extra spicy." In conclusion, personally, I felt that the regular version without extra spice is the best (laughs). For more details, please refer to my initial review from June last year. The spiciness has clearly increased compared to the first visit, but personally, I feel that "Kara extra spicy" maintains a level of spiciness that allows you to enjoy the regular flavor. If I have the chance to visit again, I would like to try the "Spicy Miso Dipping Noodles," which I haven't had before. Thank you for the meal.

They were able to accommodate my request for extra spiciness, extra tingling sensation, and extra young corn in the ramen matrix. They let me in 5 minutes before opening. From the counter, I could see the kitchen where they efficiently prepared about 6 bowls at once, with staff handling tongs and ladles skillfully, crossing paths as they worked. The color looked spicy, but despite the extra additions, it wasn't very hot or tingly. Maybe I'm just used to spicy food. The medium-thick noodles were deliciously intertwined with the soup. Since I've been here once, I guess it's alright. Those who like it could get hooked, I suppose. It wasn't very spicy, but I couldn't stop sweating from every pore! Many of the staff seemed to be from overseas, but they were cheerful and left a good impression.

Recommended by a friend, I visited this ramen shop. It was my first time trying the spicy miso genre. I bought a meal ticket at the storefront and lined up. The interior has only a counter. They ask about your preference for spiciness and numbing sensation. It's a taste that seems familiar yet unique. After finishing, you'll end up sweating, so bringing a towel is recommended.

The rich soup made with a thick original miso blend, combined with carefully selected chili spices and fragrant numbing oil from Sichuan peppercorns, creates a deeply flavorful bowl that truly lives up to its reputation. Once you've tasted it, its stimulating flavor stays with you. The exterior of the restaurant may seem quite dubious, and I hesitated the first time I came here. You buy a meal ticket from the vending machine beforehand and then line up. (Depending on the time, there may be no queue or it may be short.) While waiting, a staff member approaches you to ask about the amount of chili and Sichuan peppercorns, and they can adjust it to be less spicy if you're not a fan. Since I love spicy food, I asked for extra heat. Spicy food always clears my mind, and eating ramen here is a great stress reliever for me. While the noodles aren't exactly to my liking, I prefer this shop over others because the soup is delicious.

Today was my third visit. I arrived at 11 AM for the opening, and there were already around 30 people in line. It took me an hour to get inside. The tsukemen (dipping noodles) was reasonably tasty. The inside of the restaurant was too hot, and I ended up sweating a lot while eating.

I visited this popular restaurant on a weekday around 5 p.m. Luckily, there was no queue at the ticket machine outside. When I tried to enter, I was amused by the door handle shaped like a gold bar. I ordered the special spicy miso ramen with medium spiciness for both chili and numbing pepper. The taste was incredible! It was spicy enough to make me sweat, but I couldn't stop eating. I finished it in no time. This type of restaurant isn't common in my area, so it was a refreshing experience. I'll definitely come back if I have the chance. Thanks for the meal!

I think it's because of the popularity among international fans that everyone loves Onikinbou. Even on weekdays during lunchtime, I waited for about 30 minutes. Last time, I went on a weekday night, and it took over an hour, so I'm scared to go on weekends. I ordered the cilantro ramen for 1,180 yen, with increased spiciness and normal numbness. Still, it's definitely worth the wait for this delicious miso ramen. (It's almost like a genre called Onikinbou at this point.) Thank you for the meal.

I had work in Kanda on this day, and had a late lunch at "Karashibi Miso Ramen Onikinpou" around 3:30 PM. Despite arriving at the restaurant around that time, it was almost full and quite bustling. Clearly, it's a very popular spot. I tried their special Karashibi Miso Ramen for the first time. Since it was my first time, I opted for medium spiciness and numbness. It took about 7 minutes from ordering to serving. The soup, based on miso, had a refreshing numbness from Sichuan pepper and spiciness from chili peppers, with ginger adding a spicy kick. Even though it's already quite spicy, it's not to the extent of making you cough, so you can enjoy it slowly. The seating was quite close, and the air conditioning seemed weak, making the restaurant hot even before starting the meal. Eating the Karashibi ramen in such an environment, with taiko drum background music, felt like diving into a bowl of hell, but the taste was excellent. The thick noodles had a powerful chew, contrasting nicely with the crunchy texture of plenty of bean sprouts. The melt-in-your-mouth chashu had a hint of sweetness, and the flavored egg was so comforting, almost heavenly. I ended up sweating profusely while eating, so it might have some detox effect as well. I regret not adding cilantro as it's default, but overall, it was a delicious bowl. I think it would have been even better with cilantro. Thanks for the meal.

As always, the spicy and flavorful Kikanbou is the best! I was prepared to wait and went around 18:30, but surprisingly, there were only 4-5 people in line. Today, I ordered both the spicy and non-spicy versions. The chashu (pork slices) was melt-in-your-mouth tender, just thinking about it makes me want to eat it again!

Karashibi Miso Ramen at Onikinbo, Kanda Main Store. There were available seats. Ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen with Flavored Egg (1,130 yen). It was ready in 15 minutes. I chose normal spiciness and extra numbing sensation. Surprisingly, a bunch of Sichuan pepper was added to young corn. At first, I thought they just casually sprinkled a lot of Sichuan pepper after putting the toppings, but the combination of the sweet young corn and the numbing sensation was excellent! The chashu, more like braised pork, was delicious! It stands out. Also, the flavored egg was quite good. Bean sprouts, leeks, and shichimi (Japanese spice blend) matched well! The leeks added a nice touch. The noodles were medium-thick and tasty. Despite the traditional Japanese atmosphere at Onikinbo, both the staff and customers were all foreigners! Why is that? It feels like being in a foreign country rather than Japan!

Taste: Very delicious Portion: Normal Memorable Dish: Spicy Miso Ramen Menu: Average Ambiance: Average Value for money: Average Crowdedness: Quite crowded Service: Average Would revisit: Yes - Ordered the Spicy Miso Ramen with less spiciness and numbing sensation, as I'm not a fan of extreme spiciness. The balance of slight numbing and spiciness was just right. The soup was incredibly rich with a good punch, the miso and spiciness blended well. The addition of garlic and leeks enhanced the flavor even more. The noodles were firm and tasty even though they were medium thick. The chashu (sliced pork) was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a robust flavor. I ordered rice as a side, which paired excellently with the soup and chashu. Overall, it was extremely delicious.

The wait can be around 15 minutes on a good day, but up to an hour on busier days, but it's totally worth it!! The chashu (roast pork) is tender, and the soup is delicious too! The noodles are thick, so if you're a woman or have a small appetite, I recommend getting less noodles!

Fatigue accumulates in the legs, making it feel like there's lead in them every morning... On weekends, let's treat our stomachs and legs kindly. ✨✨ It's been a while since my last visit to "Karashibi Miso Ramen Onikinbou" - arrived at 11:30 AM, got my bowl at 20 minutes past, I thought the queue wouldn't be too bad because of the lingering summer heat, but alas, no such luck! By around 12 PM, the line gets even longer. 😱 The usual "Bean Sprout Karashibi Miso Ramen," spicy, normal spiciness, plus extra hotness for me. ¥1,130. The main shop always has plenty of staff, and the soup is always piping hot and plentiful, and the noodles are firm. I love tantanmen, which you can find all over Japan, but Karashibi Miso Tonkotsu Ramen is one of a kind, with a devilish taste only found here. 😈 The woman next to me... she eats like a turtle! 😱 Glancing over, it seems it's either her first time here or she's struggling with the heat and spiciness; she's hardly making progress with her meal... seems like she's contemplating giving up. 🐢 Meanwhile, I'm taking my time, savoring every bite, and though I couldn't finish it all today, I leave about 3 centimeters of soup at the bottom ← futile resistance, haha. Reluctantly finish up. It's been over 31 years since I last revisited, but today's soup seems a bit lighter on the bonito and miso flavors, with a tad more oil... Nevertheless, it's rich and spicy! The tender braised pork with star anise is delicious. The crunchy, fragrant stir-fried bean sprouts provide a nice contrast to the noodles. The noodles, varying in thickness, are delightfully springy, but be careful, they might splash! It's a hot day, and the air conditioning in the restaurant isn't the best... but slurping up the piping hot ramen while maxing out the neck fan is quite an experience. Usually, sweat would be dripping from my forehead into my eyes, but today, I'm safe. -(ˆ︶ˆ)- I bid a cheerful "Thank you for the meal!" to the many staff members as I leave the restaurant. Ah, another satisfying day! After this, little did I know that my forehead wrinkles would deepen into the Mariana Trench of pain as I happily head to "Dr. Foot" for an intense foot massage near Kanda Station's west exit... Help! Later on, I feel so light~~~°˖✧◝(⁰▿⁰)◜✧˖° and divine~~~✨️ ===========

After a long time, I went to Karashibi Ramen Kanda Main Store! Got the Pakuchi Ramen, normal spiciness! The classic choice for me with extra numbing! Added a flavored egg on top! The soup is robust, not overshadowed by the cilantro! (Miso base) Addictive in a good way. Eating it sweating profusely brings happiness! A taste that makes you crave it even in the heat! Delicious!!

I went around 5 p.m. on Saturday, and there were about 10 people waiting in line. They have a system where they confirm your order while you're in line. You can adjust the spiciness level: "唐辛子" for spiciness and "山椒" for numbness. I chose both as normal. After about 10 minutes of waiting, I entered the restaurant and got seated. The ramen arrived in just a few minutes. Both the spiciness and numbness didn't linger on my tongue, but they had a good kick, which I found just right. The braised pork was incredibly tender and delicious. It paired perfectly with the rice, so I regretted opting for half rice. It's about a 15-minute walk from Akihabara, making it a perfect spot to visit after some fun there. Overall, it's a great place to satisfy your hunger.

Visited around 6:00 PM on a weekday evening. Surprisingly, there was a decent line despite it being slightly earlier than usual. This place seems to be well-known among foreigners, perhaps listed in guidebooks. I ordered the spicy level with regular numbness, accompanied by a flavored egg. This particular order is the most delicious option.

It was too intense! I underestimated it... I thought I'd be eating in a room with the air conditioning blasting, but to my surprise, it was sweltering hot inside, definitely around 30 degrees Celsius! It was actually cooler outside with the breeze, haha. The ramen was packed with spiciness and numbing sensation, just as I hoped! But it hits hard on an empty stomach, haha. In the summer, let's go prepared to sweat it out without any worries!

I went to "Karashibi Miso Ramen Kikanbo (Kanda Main Store)" in Kanda. Kikanbo is a popular restaurant with long lines in both Kanda and Ikebukuro. Whenever I pass by the Ikebukuro store, there's always a line, so I decided to try the main store. I arrived around 8:00 PM on a weekday and there were about 30 people waiting. This place is crazy. Many foreigners, more than half the line consists of international visitors. It's my first time waiting so long for a restaurant. The staff frequently come out to manage the line. I felt like giving up and going home, but I was intrigued by the taste that made people wait this long, so I decided to tough it out. After a 1-hour wait, I entered the restaurant at 9:00 PM. The interior had taiko drum background music. Many staff were also foreigners, and they were accommodating to inbound customers, including explaining the menu. I ordered the Ajitama Karashibi Miso Ramen for 1,130 yen with normal spiciness and numbness. After a wait of about 10 minutes, the dish arrived. The soup had a tingling spiciness, but the broth itself was relatively light. The spiciness and numbness were not extremely strong, not as much as places like Nakanomoto. But it made me sweat, though, and the soup was slightly sticky. The noodles were medium-thick, chewy, and delicious. They mixed well with the soup. Although the menu stated 265g for a regular serving, the quantity did not seem particularly large, maybe it was the weight after boiling. The toppings included chashu, bean sprouts, young corn, green onions, and bean sprouts. The young corn added a nice touch, and the chashu was tender and tasty. Personally, I found the spiciness just right and enjoyed it. The taste might become addictive, and I can understand the desire to come back. However, the dilemma is waiting for an hour. It made me wonder if international visitors also enjoy this kind of junky taste. Seeing foreigners patiently waiting for over an hour to savor this flavor gave me a sense of camaraderie. Overall, it's recommended for those who love spicy ramen.

I went out to eat with a friend who recommended a delicious place. As expected, it was popular, with a queue forming even before noon. You can choose the spiciness and numbness level of the ramen, so I ordered mine with no spice and normal numbness. The one with no spice tasted like a rich miso ramen, with thick noodles coated in a flavorful miso soup. It was really delicious. The normal numbness option gave a pleasant tingling sensation on the tongue, similar to soaking in an electric bath. The substantial chunks of meat in the upper left of the photo were more like braised pork than regular chashu. They melted tenderly in the mouth with each bite, providing a satisfying chew. I regretted not ordering extra coriander (cilantro) when I tried a bit from my friend who had ordered it. It paired incredibly well with the soup, so next time I'll order mine with extra spice and extra coriander.
