To O2, whom I've been curious about since its opening. I was thrilled to find a variety of à la carte counter-style Chinese dishes — I love them! Every dish was truly delicious, and the chef was delightful. Thanks to the regular, Mr. Meatlover. After about a month, I visited the restaurant again. I had Lemon Chicken followed by Lamb Special on my previous visit, and this time, after some hesitation, I decided on Lamb Cheese Keema. Unlike the quiet atmosphere during my last visit, the restaurant was now packed. Eavesdropping on others' orders, I noticed that more than half were ordering Lamb Cheese Keema. My expectations soared. - **Gizzard Stir-Fry (Sauteed Gizzards and Spinach in Garlic):** Incredibly delicious. The spices, not just garlic, were well-balanced, making it more than just a simple stir-fry. It was impressive. - **Lamb Cheese Keema:** It's spicier than Lamb Special, but the taste is reminiscent of a classic Western-style curry. Extremely tasty, though I personally prefer Lamb Special for its uniqueness. Also, it was exceptionally hot—both in terms of temperature and spiciness. I finished it quickly without even realizing the combination of heat and spice. Delicious! Overall, this place serves a unique Western-style curry that you won't find elsewhere. Next time, I'll challenge the Beef Special. It was exceptionally delicious this time too. I felt the waiting time was a bit long, but just when I thought that, they even brought out a complimentary salad. The hospitality is outstanding. Thank you for the wonderful meal.

The menu had a variety of dishes with plum vegetables and natto beef, but I opted for something more conventional today: Lamb Special and Lamb Cheese Kheema. The Lamb Special featured lamb chunks in a sweet lamb meat sauce, while the Lamb Cheese Kheema was rich in cheese and piping hot. The Turmeric Rice, a blend of Indica and Japanese rice, had a delightful texture and aroma, often preferred over naan when paired with Garam Masala. Although it didn't have the intense spice flavors reminiscent of South Indian or spiced curry, I found it delicious as a dish. I can't help but hope for the return of the strong spice flavors like in the past, such as Sag Egg. Thanks for the meal!

Masala Set for 1100 yen includes salad, half rice, half naan, chicken curry, and chai. The naan is different from other Indian restaurants; perhaps it has more flour, but it's not heavy on the stomach and delicious. Although the vegetable curry is tasty, the Masala Set only comes with chicken curry. When I tried a bite of the vegetable curry my partner ordered, it was indeed delicious. Yum!

Visited around 12:00 on Sunday for lunch. There were about four groups waiting. Despite that, it seemed many people had come early, so I waited about 30 minutes before being seated. For lunch, the options were minced beef curry or vegetable curry. The highly popular lemon chicken curry was only available in the evening, which was a downside. The curry had a sweet spiciness, different from just being spicy. The naan was crispy on the outside and fluffy inside, delicious! Since I went alone, I resisted ordering the tandoori chicken. It's regrettable as other customers all ordered it. Next time, I want to go with friends in the evening and try the lemon chicken curry and tandoori chicken. Until then, it's 3.5 stars! (laughs)

I had lunch at Garam Masala, a famous Indian curry restaurant right near Kyodo Station. It's listed in the top 100 curry shops, but I didn't have to wait on a weekend to get in. I ordered the Masara Set for ¥1210, which included a daily curry (I chose beef keema and vegetables), a mini salad, half a naan, half a rice, and a drink. The beef curry had a rich flavor with a slow-building spiciness from the well-balanced spices. The naan was light and not too heavy since it didn't use butter. I enjoyed it a lot! They have a variety of curries for dinner, and I'm curious about the lemon chicken, so I'd like to try it next time for dinner. Thank you for the delicious meal!

I visited the restaurant around 7 p.m. on Saturday night for the first time. There was no queue, and about half of the seats were empty. I ordered the medium-spicy lemon chicken, mango lassi, and plain naan. First, they served papadum as a complimentary starter. It had a refreshing taste with cilantro, purple onions, and lemon! The lemon chicken was tender and had a nice amount of chicken pieces. Initially, I thought rice might be better than naan, but the naan was also delicious! It had a refreshing lemon flavor with a hint of acidity. Although the naan had many air pockets, the chewy parts were tasty! The mango lassi was rich and delicious, definitely worth a try. The total price was around 2500 yen, which felt a bit pricey. Next time, I'd like to try the popular beef special! The staff kept staring at us, which made it a bit uncomfortable. I wish they would stop that, haha.

Second visit this month. Last time, I resisted the temptation for lamb and ordered the lemon chicken. This time, I went for the lamb special along with bone-in lamb and naan. The lamb special truly lives up to its name – a taste I've never experienced before. The blend of spices is intricate and rich; the flavor is beyond any expectation. It's incredibly delicious. The quality and quantity of the lamb are superb, providing a satisfying meal. The highlight, almost as delightful as the meat, is the cilantro. I've never seen cilantro harmonize so well with other ingredients. It goes beyond being tasty – it's on a level that's genuinely moving. Personally, this might be the final destination in my quest for curry places. It was truly delicious. Thank you for the meal. I'll be back. What should I try next...

I went to a famous restaurant in Kyodo, which feels both near and far. I arrived around 5:45 PM on a weekday, and about half of the seats were already taken. It's truly a popular spot. The clientele is distinctive, not just curry enthusiasts but also families and elderly people, showing that it's beloved by locals. The service appetizer of sautéed onions was delicious, raising expectations for the ordered menu items. The bone-in lamb was unbelievably delicious, the best I've ever had. It's no wonder almost every customer ordered it. The meat itself was superb, enhanced by the spices, truly a miraculous dish. It was insanely delicious! Although I'm not fond of acidity, I ordered the Lemon Chicken and Naan, a signature dish seemingly favored by most customers. I reluctantly passed on the Lamb Special. I chose the spicy option. It arrived in about 10 minutes, emitting a wonderful aroma from afar. The first bite—sour! A new sensation unlike any I've had before! But the base curry was of an exceptionally high level! I've never had curry like this before! It's incredibly delicious! Who knew lemon and curry could complement each other so well! And the intense lemon acidity was surpassed by the umami, creating an amazing dish. Hats off to the chef's sense! Overall, it was too delicious. Perhaps the best I've ever had. I can't experience all its charms in one visit, so I want to come back during the week. It's just amazing. Next time, I'll definitely order the Lamb Special! Also, the lassi looks delicious, so I'll try that too.

I went to Yagaram tonight! When I was pondering which dish to choose from the numerous postcard-sized menus at the entrance, I was told that one of the menus I was eyeing is no longer available. What a shame! However, I was informed that they rotate their menu based on seasonal ingredients, so I picked from the options in the menu book. There's quite a lot of dishes with cilantro (coriander) here. Apparently, the manager really loves cilantro. I heard that they're still good friends with the manager of the famous cilantro restaurant "Cilantro House" in Kyodo, and they still source cilantro from him. So, I decided to try out dishes with cilantro! I had cilantro spring rolls, cilantro lamb, and a lemon sour with cilantro. Everything with cilantro was fresh and delicious. After indulging in cilantro, it was time for curry. I ordered the classic lemon chicken and the intriguing natto beef. Combining natto and beef is such an unconventional idea that you wouldn't normally find at home! I thought there would be cinnamon, but there was also burdock, making it impressively smooth and addictive. Let's not forget the signature canned mackerel. They didn't have canned mackerel curry, but upon request, they made it with canned mackerel. While mackerel was the star, it was accompanied by finely chopped summer vegetables like bitter melon and okra, with a hint of cumin fragrance, and topped with more cilantro. It was a masterpiece that elevated the summer feel of the mackerel. The customers were very diverse. Mostly groups of women, couples, and families, but there was also a young man who seemed like a college student dining alone. Everyone was simply enjoying their curry without any discomfort, creating a very peaceful atmosphere inside the restaurant. There were no children, but they seem to have a children's menu, making it a truly inclusive restaurant for everyone. Apparently, only 50% of the children's menu has been eaten so far, while the remaining 50% couldn't be finished! Such generosity adds to the charm of the place.

After various twists and turns, today's lunch ended up at this relatively highly-rated Indian curry restaurant in Kyotanabe. Many restaurants don't take lunch reservations, and unsurprisingly, this one doesn't either. Aiming for the opening at 11:30, I searched through the transit guide and arrived at the restaurant a little after 11:10, finding no line. I snagged the first spot. Initially, I waited downstairs without going up to the second floor, but as the opening time approached, it felt like it might be okay to queue upstairs, so I ascended the stairs. There was a notice about how to queue during busy times, confirming that going upstairs was indeed the right call. Just then, the door opened, and an Indian staff member welcomed us, saying, "We're not open yet, but please come inside." It instantly lifted our spirits with such a hospitable gesture. Inside, there were two types of tables available: for two and for four. Although it seemed like we could sit quietly at the four-person table, it being our first time here, my wife and I settled at a two-person table. Initially, while waiting downstairs, we had seen the dinner menu extensively, so when the lighter lunch menu was presented later, it was a tad underwhelming. However, both my wife and I opted for the two curry dishes with naan or rice, choosing the course that came with salad and a drink. In the end, we ended up ordering exactly the same thing. By the way, we both chose naan, and the drink was lassi. Frankly speaking, the minced beef curry had a rich flavor and was very nice. The vegetable curry, on the other hand, was a bit too tangy, not quite hitting the mark. Still, despite being a little surprised by the additional ¥300, the lassi was delicious, and the service from the staff was excellent, so the score couldn't be too low. However, if we were to visit again, it would definitely be for dinner. If you happen to read this review and become interested in this restaurant, please do check out the dinner menu. I also took some photos. If you see them, you'll surely feel the same way. We both agreed that we want to try the next level of lineup. We're already looking forward to revisiting for dinner next time. Nevertheless, today's lunch was thoroughly enjoyable for our first visit. Thank you very much! 🍽️

【Memo, Points】Visited a restaurant in Setagaya Ward because it was offering a 20% point reduction with Setapay, which made it a good deal for a place I wanted to go to.【Motivation】Had registered and wanted to visit the restaurant.【Order, Visit Details】Had the Lunch B set (with naan) priced at 1100 yen. Parked the car in a Coin P parking lot (200 yen for 60 minutes). Arrived around 11:21 AM on Sunday. There were two people ahead of me in the queue. A sign indicated the queue started at the top of the stairs. Even though it was before opening hours, they allowed us to wait inside. Entered and got seated at an available table. Placed the order around 11:26 AM. By 11:30 AM, about 70% of the seats were occupied. When leaving, there were two people in the queue. The food was served around 11:40 AM. Made the payment using Setapay at the counter near the entrance.【Impressions, etc.】The naan was easy to tear and eat, not greasy, and didn't leave my hands sticky. Noticed many other customers also eating naan. Both curry dishes had plenty of ingredients and less gravy, making them ideal to eat with naan. Overall, both the naan and curry were delicious.

Garam Masala, located near Odakyu Odawara Line's Kyodo Station, offers a lunch set priced at ¥1,100. The daily curry options include Vegetable Curry and Beef Kheema Curry, both available in the B set. Customers can choose between Naan and Rice. For an additional ¥250, you can opt for the Salad Set, which includes a salad and a drink (Chai or Lassi for an extra ¥330). The reviewer describes their visit, expressing excitement about trying the curry and Naan combination. The daily curry choices on their visit were Vegetable Curry and Beef Kheema Curry. They chose the B set to enjoy both curries, with Naan and Rice as the base. The Salad Set, added for ¥250, impressed with its generous portion and tasty dressing. Moving on to the main course, the fresh salad was followed by the visually appealing curries served in abundant portions. The Vegetable Curry featured a light and flavorful sauce with a variety of vegetables, providing a gentle and gradually building spice. The reviewer appreciated the refreshing heat and addictiveness of the flavor. The Beef Kheema Curry, described as irresistibly meaty, offered a unique sensation with the sudden kick of Sichuan pepper. The spices lingered and added to the addictive taste. The reviewer praised the size of the Naan, which was larger than expected and complemented the curries well. In summary, the review highlighted the distinctive and delicious experience at Garam Masala, expressing a desire to visit again for dinner. The overall impression was of a curry place offering a new and exceptional culinary experience.

Garam Masala "Kyoto Ekoda" Menu · Papad (Complimentary) · Mackerel Curry · Lemon Chicken · Beef Special · Mutton Cheese Keema · Cinnamon Naan · Turmeric Rice · Cinnamon Ice Cream I visited this restaurant in Kyoto Ekoda, recommended by a friend after having grilled meat. It's also recognized as one of the top 100 curry restaurants. I've always wanted to try it. First, the Mackerel Curry had a strong aroma of cilantro and spices, and it was spicier than I expected. It seems more like a good accompaniment for drinks rather than something to pair with rice or naan. The Lemon Chicken had a refreshing curry with the acidity of lemon. There was plenty of chicken, and I particularly enjoyed it with Turmeric Rice. The Mutton Cheese Keema was served piping hot, and it paired well with the naan. However, the highlight was the Beef Special. The beef's umami, moderate spiciness, and spices made it irresistible. I couldn't stop using the spoon. I don't usually eat curry often, but I found a place that makes me want to revisit!

The winner of the 1st Japan Curry Award, Asia Ethnic Top 100 Restaurants in 2023, is the Indian restaurant "Garam Masala" ✨✨ This is my favorite Indian restaurant, offering classic dishes. Today, I had a gourmet gathering with 9 members from my company. It's been a crazy busy week (tears), so today we're all about drinking, making noise, and having fun! The restaurant opened in 1997 and is located a 2-minute walk from Odakyu Line Kyodo Station. They skillfully use spices, which is a distinctive feature. Now, how's the taste of the food? Here's the à la carte menu (excluding tax): - Papad (Complimentary): Papad topped with aromatic vegetables. A light appetizer done well. - Cilantro Spring Rolls: $5.80. Filled with tandoori chicken. Recommended for cilantro lovers. Not as strong as cilantro salad, but great for those who want lots of vegetables. - Cilantro Salad: $5.80. A unique salad with fresh cilantro, gizzard, and quail eggs. The seasoning is exquisite. Even I, who love vegetables, am satisfied with this. It's a dish worth trying. - Tandoori Lamb Chops: $8.80. Seasoned with rosemary, oregano, tarragon, and basil. Juicy and flavorful. Knockout taste! - Tandoori Chicken: $7.80. Marinated in special spices and yogurt for 2 days. The finishing here is completely different from other places. Generous portion and unique seasoning, as expected from Hasan. - Mutton Cheese Kheema: $12.80. Hasan's heavily seasoned kheema curry is unbelievably delicious. The abundant spices are irresistible, and the melted cheese adds a new dimension to the flavor. Hasan is truly amazing. - Lemon Chicken: $12.80. Sour, but surprisingly well-balanced flavor. A curry like no other. It's excessively unique (laughs). - Turmeric Rice: $2.50. Well-cooked long-grain turmeric rice. It's a delight when this quality comes out. - Plain Naan: $3.00. Well-made but not particularly impressive. It's just average. - Mango Lassi: $5.00. Creamy with a mild acidity, a pleasant type of lassi. Drinks: - Kirin Heartland Beer (Medium Bottle): Delicious! - Satori (Merlot-Malbec): $31.00. A red wine that's easy to drink with no strong aftertaste. Fruity but not too sweet. Worth the price. Will order again next time. - Sura (Shiraz): $30.00. A medium-bodied red wine with a strong acidity and unique flavor. Deep and delicious taste. Service: Average. Prices: Despite eating and drinking plenty, it's very affordable. It's cheap. This price range is very convenient. Well, it was delicious today too! The flavors are unique yet delicious. It's not often you come across a restaurant that makes you tremble like this. Oh, it was so good (*´∇`*) We drank, we ate, and we had a blast. I'm very satisfied. Thank you for the meal m(_ _)m Rating (as of July 2023): 3.75 on Tabelog with 717 reviews. Note: My evaluation is only for the dinner menu. Lunch might be different, so please be aware.

Today, I decided to visit Garam Masala, a place I've been meaning to go once summer hits! While the idea of having lunch there was floated, I was convinced that experiencing the extensive dinner menu would truly showcase the restaurant's excellence. I arrived for dinner and found that although the staff were mostly foreigners, the operation ran smoothly. Every dish on the menu looked appetizing, but today I ordered the following: - Coriander Salad (770 yen): The dressing is delicious! It's bursting with flavor and incredibly tasty! - Samosa (605 yen): I ordered this because it's the restaurant's specialty (lol). The meat itself is very flavorful, and the spice level is just right. Perfect with beer! - Lamb Liver Stir-Fry (715 yen): Spicy liver teppanyaki! The garlic flavor is strong, and it goes great with beer! The use of spices here is just right! - Gizzard Stir-Fry (605 yen): A dish with spinach and gizzard stir-fried with curry powder. The garlic flavor is strong and delicious. - Mutton Cheese Keema (1485 yen): Loaded with cheese. The spice blend is unique, unlike anything I've tasted before. It really brings out the richness of the mutton. It's not very spicy, so next time I'll try a spicier version. Seriously, this place!! It's incredibly delicious! Every dish has an exquisite balance of spices, creating complex flavors. Unlike Indian dishes where individual spices stand out, I'm not a fan of those lacking depth. But here, the spices are perfectly blended, creating an amazing harmony. The naan is soft and evenly cooked, and the complimentary papadum is top-notch. The quality of every dish is so high that I can't think of any other place quite like Garam Masala. The fact that a solo meal with moderate drinking only costs 4500 yen is also astonishing. Definitely coming back!

On a day when I went to Tokyo for work and it was hot, I decided on Indian curry. I chose this place because it had high ratings on Tabelog. It's the kind of place where tastes can be divisive, so I should have read everyone's reviews before going. You can only choose from two types of curry, and the lunch menu is confusing. Even if I wanted to ask, the Indian staff spoke broken Japanese, so I ended up with chicken curry, a salad set, and a beer. The taste is a matter of preference, but personally, while the curry had spices, it lacked depth for me. The salad in the set was delicious. I was interrupted multiple times until I settled on my order, and once I finished eating, my plate was promptly taken away (without asking if I was finished), which made me feel uneasy, so I left early. Since it's a fiercely competitive curry area, I probably won't revisit. Thanks for the meal.

Simple daily curry with two varieties. The curry bowls are slightly larger than those typically used in sets. Ordered medium spiciness, which was just right. The vegetable curry had daikon as the main ingredient with a chunky sauce, while the chicken curry had spinach with a thick consistency. Both priced reasonably at ¥1100, offering good value. Would like to try their evening menu as well.

Tonight, I had dinner alone. After debating where to go, I decided to visit "Garam Masala," an Indian restaurant in Kyodo. It's just a few minutes from the south exit of Kyodo Station. There are several popular restaurants nearby with long lines. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building. I didn't make a reservation, so I had to wait a bit as it was full. The variety of curry types advertised on the door got me excited. After about 30 to 40 minutes of waiting, I finally got inside. The interior wasn't as spacious as I imagined, but it wasn't cramped either. The menu was extensive, making it hard to choose, but I decided to go with the recommended classic, Lemon Chicken Curry. I also ordered plain naan and mango lassi. The appetizer was crispy papadum topped with onions, which was delicious. The Lemon Chicken Curry was indeed tangy from the lemon, adding a nice accent, and the chicken was tasty. Besides the curry, there are other appealing options, and I'd like to visit again for dinner with a group next time. I really liked this restaurant. Thank you for the meal.

I visited just before noon on a weekday, and there weren't many customers, so I was seated quickly. I ordered the B set lunch menu (¥1100, with a choice of two curries + naan or rice). Today's curries were bean and chicken curry and vegetable curry. I asked for medium spiciness, which wasn't too hot. The vegetable curry was quite spicy, and the naan was delicious. Both had unique spices, giving them a curious flavor. I have a feeling I might get hooked on these curries.
