In Chuo-ku, Tokyo, a bistro called "Bistro yen" has opened at the site of the former Nihonbashi Kabuto-cho Bank, now transformed into a food complex supervised by Keisuke Oyama called "BANK". The establishment features a bakery and a bistro with a theme of "enjoying bread deliciously". On the first floor, you will find the bakery "bank" and the bistro "yen", while downstairs, there is a café bar & shop called "coin" where you can enjoy music and scents, and an interior goods and flower shop called "fête". The entire project is overseen by Keisuke Oyama, who aims to create a place where you can experience the world of "ease", his own patisserie brand, with all five senses. The interior of the renovated building, formerly a bank, features materials such as old wood, exposed concrete, and bricks, creating a warm and textured space. At the entrance, a 1000-year-old olive tree is planted to provide a relaxing spot for the people of Kabuto-cho. The names of the facility, bakery, and bistro are inspired by the securities and investment district of Nihonbashi Kabuto-cho. The bistro "yen", the first project supervised by Keisuke Oyama, focuses on the theme of "enjoying bread deliciously" with dishes that complement bread. The menu features classic French techniques combined with the chef's and Oyama's unique touches in terms of aroma, texture, and ingredient pairing. I visited the bistro and tried the Chicken Fricassee, which was delicious and satisfying. The mushroom rice cooked in broth was topped with sautéed mushrooms and cheese, creating a rich and creamy risotto when mixed with the remaining sauce from the Fricassee. The main dish, Oyama's Chicken Fricassee with turnips and black radish, was flavorful and comforting, highlighting the roasted chicken's succulent taste. The staff were friendly and welcoming, making it a great place to enjoy a meal alone or with company. Overall, the experience was enjoyable, and I look forward to seeing how the restaurant continues to evolve in the future.

I went for lunch on a regular day. I chose the cheapest lunch course at 2800 yen, which was a choice between a hamburger or a short pasta, so I chose the hamburger. The female staff member was very friendly, and the atmosphere of the stylish interior was very nice. For someone like me who is an ordinary person, it would have been better if it was 1000 yen cheaper... I would like to visit the café downstairs, but I don't think I will revisit the restaurant.

The food was very delicious, especially the pasta which was excellent. I would like to try the all-you-can-eat bread from the bakery attached next time. However, considering the location, I feel that the price and portion of the dishes are not quite balanced. I often go to bistros in Yoyogi-Hachiman, Kamiyama, and around the park, and if you go with that expectation, you may feel a bit of a gap.

I made a reservation for Sunday at 11:30 and arrived at the restaurant. It was packed because it's a popular spot. The interior is stylish. And the highlight was the delicious bread that kept coming one after another. The lunch course menu was 4400 yen. Here are the menu items and my impressions: - Mini croissant with pickled eggplant ★×4 • Doesn't taste like eggplant • Crispy and delicious • Croissant and eggplant cream go well together - Cold corn soup ★×3 • Simply delicious • Attention to detail in the presentation - Bank's bread ★×5 • Bread keeps coming one after another • Tried four types: focaccia, chocolate chip, fig, raisin • Freshly baked bread is delicious - Scallop with beets and white peach ★×3 • Sweet peach and delicious • Unusual salad - Tanba black chicken with white miso and fennel ★×4 • Chicken and vegetables cooked perfectly • Delicious sauce - Parfait glace with oolong tea and fig ★×5 • Similar to ice cream • Topped with fig sauce • Fig and oolong tea mousse complement each other - Petit fours ★×3 • Tea-flavored cookies - Coffee ★×4 • Simply delicious - Mineral water 700 yen ★×3 • Regular carbonated water Thank you for the meal!

Stylish and perfect for a date. We used it as a second bar, but it would have been fine to come just to eat pasta. The prices seem reasonable. The basement seems like a miscellaneous goods store. I was already drunk so I couldn't try many types of wine, which was a shame.

Stylish, good value, close to the station, and delicious restaurant. The flavors are quite strong, so you get full quickly, but the spring rolls were rich and tasty. It's a shame they don't have highballs, but it's a great place for a date. Perfect for a slightly stylish girls' night out.

Nihonbashi Bistro Yen is located in the Nihonbashi and Kayabacho area, in the same building as Bank. The bistro has a stylish interior and the clientele mostly consists of women in their 20s, university students, and young couples. The menu includes dishes like white liver mousse, pate de campagne, Basque cheesecake, and delicious bread from Bank. The atmosphere is lovely with beautiful lighting and table design, making it a great choice for a girls' night out. Overall, a fantastic place for dinner in Nihonbashi and Kayabacho. #Nihonbashi #Kayabacho #BistroYen #yen #bank #coin #NihonbashiGourmet #NihonbashiBistro #NihonbashiDinner #KayabachoGourmet #KayabachoDinner #Foodies #Tokyo #TokyoGourmet #TokyoDinner #TokyoBistro #GirlsNightOutDinner #foodie #tokyofoodie #naturalwine

Bistro yen in Chiyoda-ku. Located in a former bank building in Chiyoda-ku, this facility opened in 2022 and is called "BANK". It includes a bakery shop called "Bakery bank", a bistro named "yen", a floral design shop called "Flowers fete", and a coffee bar & shop called "coin". Produced by Mr. Oyama, who is known for the popular patisseries "ease" and "teal" in Chiyoda-ku. I visited yen for lunch this time, having previously visited coin and Bakery bank. I opted for the lunch set priced at 2800 yen, where you can choose a main dish. The set included: - Couscous salad - Shiso vichyssoise - Bread from bank - Main dish: Veal cream stew with Hokkaido corn rice in a pot or Swordfish and olive herb lemon pasta (I chose the veal cream stew as my main dish) Additionally, I ordered: - yen's adult pudding with vanilla ice cream and rum-soaked raisins - Iced tea made with Maruhi tea from Shizuoka, "Kosun" The dishes had a natural and stylish taste, light and easy to eat, and delicious. The pudding had a sophisticated taste with a hint of liquor, and the creamy vanilla ice cream was excellent. Despite being a weekday, all the shops were crowded. It seems that their popularity is still going strong. I will definitely come back again. Thank you for the delicious meal.

Next to the bank, there is a stylish bistro called "yen". The lunch course here is priced at 5000 yen or less, making it a great deal. Today's course includes: - Mini croissant and corn soup: The mini croissant with butter pickle cream is delicious. - Scallop and summer vegetable marinade: The dressing with beets ties everything together nicely. - Roasted chicken from Okayama Prefecture with fried shishito peppers: The chicken was tender and perfectly cooked. The baguette is from BANK, of course. - Peach and noble rot wine ice cream: The noble rot wine adds depth to the peach ice cream. - Coffee pound cake and coffee: A high-quality bistro that you would want to visit again and again until the end.

Visited with friends on a holiday night. The interior of the restaurant has a very stylish atmosphere, perfect for dates or girls' nights out. It seems quite crowded during lunchtime, so making a reservation for a leisurely dinner visit might be a good idea. We ordered the all-you-can-eat hot bread menu for 1200 yen per person. There were plenty of food options and wines that go well with the bread. The bread was so delicious that we ended up eating too much. The meals were all hearty and offered good value for the price. I would love to come back again.

The atmosphere of the restaurant is very nice. The lunch course has only one option. The cold corn soup is delicious with a unique oil drizzle that gives it a fragrant and crispy taste. The scallop and beet salad is refreshing and tastes great when mixed together. The main course chicken is decent, neither outstanding nor disappointing. The dessert parfait glacé is fantastic and surprisingly filling. You can get a different type of bread if you ask for a refill, so I recommend doing so if you have room.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a long time. Since I had plans nearby, I decided to stop by alone on my way back. It was a bit intimidating to enter alone due to its elegant atmosphere. I sat at the counter and tried the recommended cider. I'm not really good with alcohol, but this cider had a smooth taste and was delicious. Most items on the menu were for two people, but the staff told me that "most items can be adjusted for one person." Thanks to that, I was able to casually choose a menu item that caught my eye. I would like to visit again when I want to reward myself for a job well done.

【Nearest Station】5-minute walk from Kayabacho Station 【Budget】6000-8000 yen 【Overview】Bistroyen is a bistro with a unique concept, renovated from a former bank site. They offer menu items using bread from the adjacent bakery "BANK". The complex facility also includes a cafe in the basement and a bakery on the 1st floor. There is also a flower shop, making it a place where you can enjoy a whole day. The interior atmosphere is great, making it a recommended spot for those who want to have a sophisticated date in Nihonbashi! 【Menu】Order a la carte - Mini croissant - Today's pasta (shirasu) - Charcuterie assortment - Fried pig trotters - Ezo deer - Drinks 【Note】Visited for a date this time. Located about a 3-minute walk from Kayabacho Station, it is a complex facility where you can enjoy half a day. You can leisurely spend time in the evening at Bistroyen after enjoying delicious bread and soft serve at the BANK bakery cafe in the afternoon on the terrace seats outside. The cafe attached to the flower shop in the basement also offers a calm atmosphere! We were able to enter without a reservation on the day, but it is recommended to make a reservation to get a window seat. Below are some recommended menu items. - Mini croissant: A menu item in collaboration with the BANK bakery. The crispy mini croissant is filled with a cream cheese and wasabi mixture, which goes well with the buttery aroma of the croissant and captivates your taste buds from the first bite. - Ezo deer: Couldn't decide between beef and deer, but received a recommendation for Ezo deer from the staff and ordered it! In conclusion, it was the right choice! It had no gamey taste typical of deer, the texture was chewy and surprisingly tender, better than beef! The accompanying young corn and zucchini also added a summery feel, sweet and delicious! - Pig trotters: A spring roll stuffed with plenty of pork, including pig ears. Especially delicious when generously dipped in the cheese and basil sauce! Although we had to go quickly this time, we were very satisfied with the staff's wine and dish recommendations. If dining with a woman, the cost for food and drinks would be around 6000-7000 yen, making it cost-effective. Thank you for the meal.

- Title: Bank, a stylish and modern bistro in Nihonbashi - Location: A 4-minute walk from Kayabacho Station, right next to the Tokyo Stock Exchange - Time of Entry: 12:25 PM - Duration of Stay: Approximately 30 minutes - Weather: Surprisingly cool - Situation: A few empty seats - Number of Visitors: One person - Customer Service: Highly educated and knowledgeable staff, providing detailed explanations of the dishes. Very polite and attentive. - Service Time: Salad arrived in about 5 minutes, followed by soup, baguette, main course, and finally the rice in a pot about 17-18 minutes later. - Exterior: Stylish and elegant - Interior: Chic and modern atmosphere with a sense of sophistication - Number of Visits: First time - Rating at the Time of Visit: 3.24 Today, I was short on time with back-to-back meetings and preparations to do. So, I decided to lift my spirits by enjoying some delicious bread at Bank. As I walked in, I noticed the stylish ambiance and headed towards yen on the left. Feeling hungry, I was drawn to the sight of everyone enjoying their meals, and I found myself seated at the counter. I opted for the a la carte menu, feeling a bit nervous. The staff was highly knowledgeable and well-educated, impressing me with their detailed explanations of the dishes. I ordered the a la carte lunch menu, which included: - Couscous Salad (Carrot Rapé, Ricotta Cheese, Spiced Nuts) - Basil Vichyssoise - Main Course (Choice between Veal Belly Cream Stew with Hokkaido Corn Rice in a Pot or Swordfish and Olive Herb Lemon Pasta) Dessert options were available at an additional cost, and drink options included tea, coffee, and rooibos tea for 500 yen each. I anxiously waited for my food, capturing pictures of the cows in front of me. Finally, the dishes arrived: - Couscous Salad: Light and refreshing with high-quality ingredients, a delightful combination of dressing, ricotta cheese, and nuts. - Basil Vichyssoise: Delicious and something I wanted to savor slowly, but my eagerness got the best of me. - Baguette: A bit cold as it wasn't freshly baked, with a hard exterior and a normal interior. - Veal Belly Cream Stew: Elegant flavors, though I felt the need to enhance the taste with salt and pepper. The small potatoes were particularly tasty, and the veal belly was tender and flavorful. Overall, the experience at Bank was a mix of rushed excitement and elegant dining, contrasting with the leisurely enjoyment of the other patrons around me.

This is a renovated store that used to be a bank, so it has a modern and lively atmosphere with an open kitchen in the center. It's called "Bistro yen" because it used to be a bank. It's located about a 3-minute walk from Kayabacho. I couldn't make a lunch reservation, so I waited for about 10 minutes on a weekday. The menu says "Bistro that goes well with bread," but the dish I wanted came with rice, so I didn't have any bread. I tried the beer-braised pork cheek with asparagus rice, and it was delicious, but I wished I had some bread with it. They have a bakery called bank attached, so if you order a menu with bread, you can enjoy freshly baked homemade bread from bank. I bought some bread from bank on my way out and I'm looking forward to having it for breakfast tomorrow. By the way, I bought an anpan before, and it was delicious with its refreshing sweetness and chewy texture, so I recommend that too.

I had been curious about this restaurant for a while, but I couldn't make a reservation. I saw reviews saying that it gets crowded on Saturdays for lunch, so I expected to wait, but since I went later in the day, I only had to wait for about 10 minutes before being seated. I really wanted to try the beer-braised pork, but it was sold out right before I ordered, so I got the tabbouleh instead. The chestnut bread that came out first was amazing, and the champagne was delicious too - I ended up buying a bottle later. The new onion soup was rich and flavorful. The tabbouleh was also very tasty, but the bread and soup were the highlights for me. The staff was very attentive and friendly, which made the experience even better. I plan to visit again this month! This restaurant has become a must-visit for me whenever I go to Tokyo.

I finally made it to Bistro yen, a place I've been wanting to visit for a while! It's located just a 3-4 minute walk from Kayabacho towards the Tokyo Stock Exchange in Tomioka. I've been to Bakery Bank before, but this was my first time at Bistro yen! I ordered the pasta & mini salad set, which came with Bakery Bank's focaccia bread - a nice touch! The pasta had a tangy and refreshing flavor, with just the right amount of bite to it. It was delicious! Who knew there was such a stylish restaurant in Kayabacho!

The food was delicious too.

We arrived at the restaurant at 6:00 pm. It was a bit far and hard to find from Tokyo Station, but we managed to get there. There were four of us, including a friend couple. We ordered a platter of assorted dishes, hash browns, one appetizer, one main dish, and bread. We also had one glass of champagne and one bottle of red and white wine. It was a very enjoyable time. The issue of slow food service that was mentioned before didn't bother us much this time, as we were advised to order in advance. The wine explanations were detailed and easy to understand. Since there was no menu, we were suggested based on our preferences, and we were satisfied with the recommendations. We will definitely visit again!

The wine, the food, the atmosphere - everything at this restaurant is top-notch! Especially the seasonal white asparagus (shown in the second photo) is exquisite. You can also order additional bread from the bakery inside, which pairs perfectly with the liver mousse. I personally hope to see more of these kinds of restaurants popping up around Kayabacho.
