Today is Saturday! Since I brought my PC home, I checked my email in the morning, then headed to the gym for bench presses and running, and after that... it's time for a curry and sauna adventure! Today, I'm going to a sauna and capsule hotel in Uguisudani. But before that, I have to have some curry. Let's conquer the Kanda area, which is not far from Uguisudani. It's a fierce battleground for curry and a sacred place (^^) I was torn on which restaurant to go to, but I've decided on this one! I went there only once when I used to live in Kanda, it wasn't as famous back then. Maybe it gained more popularity after appearing on Matsumoto-san's TV show (^^) It's located just a 3-minute walk from the north exit of Kanda Station. Wow, even though I'm a bit late, look at this queue at 11:30! I might have to prepare for a one-hour wait... Oh, what's this? Lucky me! Thanks to the seating arrangement, I got in ahead of the groups of five and two! Thank you, staff (^^) I ordered the "Mixed Curry with Chicken and Extra Rice" and added a "Half-cooked Egg" on top, with a spice level of 3! The atmosphere inside is intense. The owner seems like a true artisan, vigorously making curry while grooving to the lively background music. But seems like a nice person (^^) And here comes the long-awaited curry! Oh wow, looks delicious! Let's dig in... Hmm... delicious! The spices are amazing. It's not too heavy, with a balance of bitterness, tingling sensation, sweetness, umami, and aroma, stimulating all senses. It's confusingly good! And this chicken is incredible! They fry it fresh every time, so it's hot and crispy on the outside while juicy on the inside. It's delicious! The dry curry is mild, and it pairs perfectly with the fried onions. Getting extra rice was the right choice; it's disappearing quickly. Finally, I crack the half-cooked egg and mix it into the curry, finishing every last bit. It was delicious! I'll definitely come back again! Thank you for the meal Ψ( 'ч' ☆) ==========

I had the chance to visit here in Kanda, a fiercely competitive lunch area, which I was curious about. The food was delicious, with various spices enhancing the flavors. I opted for chicken as the base for my Indian curry, and it came with about 6-7 large pieces of chicken, making it very satisfying in terms of volume.

I found a lunch place near Kanda Station without knowing it was a strict establishment. I lined up before opening and the owner, who was operating alone that day, bluntly instructed customers on where to stand and prohibited bringing in bags, instructing to leave them in a designated spot outside. I ordered the recommended "Half-cooked Chicken" as it was my first time, and chose spice level 1 (out of 5), with 0 labeled as mild. As others have mentioned, the curry was runny, and the Half-cooked Chicken and Keema Curry both had a delightful blend of dry spice and curry aroma. The crispy fried chicken added a delicious texture. Level 1 was a bit spicy for me; I should have ordered 0. The Keema Curry, with its mix of vegetables and meat, was also slightly spicy, and spice adjustment might not be possible. During the wait for the order, chatting was strictly forbidden, and the owner would reprimand customers. I recommend going alone as chatting with friends may be tempting, and it's not allowed in this restaurant.

Visited a restaurant based on reviews mentioning strict rules, felt a bit nervous. Arrived around 11:50 on a weekday, waited for 3-4 people ahead. Despite being strict, the turnover was decent, so the wait wasn't too long. From lining up to finishing the meal took about 30 minutes. Checked the rules while waiting; it was okay to silently use the phone until starting to eat. The person next to me got scolded for talking. Ordered the shared curry with chicken, recommended for beginners. The curry had a flavorful spice, quite unique compared to other places. Overall, enjoyed it and considering going back regularly.

I tried the chicken version of the Indian and dry curry combination curry. The Indian curry part was a light and watery soup curry with plenty of spices and herbs, but it wasn't spicy at all. (I ordered level 6 spiciness at first, but I think even level 10 wouldn't be spicy.) The chicken was crispy rather than tender. It's a unique taste experience, so next time I want to try it with shrimp.

From Kanda Station's 5th exit on the Ginza Line, it's a 3-minute walk to Curry Notrico, renowned for its curry. Arriving for lunch at 12:30, there were already two people ahead, resulting in a 5-minute wait before entering. The place has only a counter, and I chose the Indian-style curry from the three options available, priced at 1200 yen. I opted for chicken with a moderate level of spiciness, rated at 3 out of 10. It took about 10 minutes for the order to arrive. The curry, matured with a plethora of vegetables and spices, had a pronounced spice flavor. It contained chicken, onions, and macadamia nuts, with approximately 8 pieces of chicken akin to fried chicken. The soft texture of macadamia nuts was delightful. Despite being moderately spicy, the curry, featuring grilled chicken and macadamia nuts, offered a unique and enjoyable taste experience. Overall, it was a delicious meal. Thank you!

Curry Top 100, a popular spot for junky curry that I've been wanting to try. Ordered the Aigake Curry at level 3 spiciness for ¥1700. The loud music from Ulfuls adds to the junky vibe nicely. However, despite not being busy, they crammed us in and chatting wasn't allowed. The spoons in the rusty cans felt unclean. Not really my thing. The curry itself was spicy and the chicken, cooked thoroughly, added a robust flavor. Thanks for the meal.

Second time. I was wary of the rumored indifferent attitude, but there was no line outside, and you can hardly see inside from outside, so it's natural, but when I opened the door, I was scolded (laughs). "Please don't open it by yourself and wait outside!" That's unreasonable (laughs). Second time. Last order seems to be at 2:00 PM, but I arrived 10 minutes earlier. I carefully peeked inside from outside... and I couldn't see any vacancies... I opened the door fearfully, and they said, "Please come in." Huh? There were vacancies (laughs). I ordered the curry with level 8 spiciness (it was up to 10 the first time). Last time, level 5 was totally fine. Also, the lemonade, which is reputed to be delicious. Both were delicious. Thank you for the meal. I can still go there anytime... Next time, you need a membership card to order levels 11 and above.

It seems like we arrived just in time before closing, and it was our last meal of the day. Thankfully, we made it! While the restaurant has quite a few rules, the staff wasn't unpleasant. We ordered the "Aigake no Ebi" (since the chicken was sold out). As someone not well-versed in culinary terms, I couldn't quite pinpoint the spices, but enjoying the different flavors and textures with each bite was delightful. The curry, topped with dry curry, turned each mouthful into a unique experience. It was a light and easy-to-eat curry, and before I knew it, my plate was empty. Although the menu listed "Indian Curry" and "Dry Curry" separately, I felt the true essence of the curry was in the combination. It was really delicious.

Arrived around 12:00 on a weekday. There was a short wait of about 10 minutes for two people. Ordered the "Aigake Curry" with chicken. Selected a spice level of 6 out of 10. The Aigake curry has a watery Indian-style curry poured over the rice, with a dry curry on top. It's spicy but not overly so, with a delightful aroma from the spices. If you can handle spiciness well, you might want to go for a higher spice level. The chicken was crispy and flavorful, with a well-marinated taste.

The restaurant had strict rules: no mobile phones, no whispering, and photos only of the food. The owner's T-shirt bore the inscription "Difficult Bastard Owner," setting the tone for what seemed like a complicated place. However, the service was not bad at all. The owner handled everything alone—cooking, serving, and attending to customers—without a break, which made me think maybe that's why they had those rules. I ordered the Chicken Ai Ga Curry, which the owner recommended for beginners. It came in two separate bowls: one with crispy chicken in a smooth curry, and the other with a drier keema curry. Both were delicious on their own, and mixing them together was tasty too. It's what you'd call a spiced-up curry, visually appealing and vibrant. But even though I'm a fan of spicy food, I found the level 5 spiciness to be more like medium-hot than really spicy.

Visited for the first time. It's a counter-only shop where you eat quickly and leave quietly. At home, I mix spicy and medium-spicy roux to make curry, so I tried a spiciness level 4 for the first time. It was okay for it to be even spicier, but it was incredibly delicious and I was impressed! The chicken was juicy and crispy, and it was delicious. It's definitely a shop I want to visit again.

Kanda Station 2 minutes │ Curry Notoriko□ 2018 Autumn Akihabara → Moved to Kanda□ Received Indian-style curry × dry curry Aigake Curry (Chicken) ¥1700 "For first-timers, please try the Aigake Chicken," so I chose Aigake. Ordered medium spiciness. The chicken curry had a chunky texture with plenty of fried chicken pieces, making it very filling. The dry curry used minced meat and had a subtly sweet flavor, very gentle on the palate. Thank you for the meal! The interior has only counter seats. Talking or using smartphones during meals is prohibited! It was a space where you could seriously enjoy your curry without distractions. ------------------------------------------------- [Curry Notoriko] Address: 1F Ichi-Hachi Building, 3-5 Kanda Kajicho, Chiyoda-ku, Tokyo Hours: Mon, Tue, Thu, Fri 11:00-14:00, 18:00-22:00 Wed 11:00-14:00 Sat 11:00-15:00 Reservation: Not available Price: ¥1200~ Check out the Instagram (@tsuki.1.curry) for more information. ------------------------------------------------- #Tokyo #Lunch #Curry #TokyoGourmet #CurryRice #SpicyCurry #TokyoLunch #ConnectWithCurryLovers #CurryLovers #LunchOuting #LoveForCurry #CurryLunch #CurryExploration #Kanda #KandaCurry #KandaLunch #KandaGourmet #CurryNotoriko

I visited this restaurant I've been wanting to go to for a while since I had a layover in Kanda. I ordered the chicken-topped curry with ai-gake style. You can choose the spiciness level of the curry, and I chose the middle level, which was just right. In conclusion, the curry was delicious and well-prepared. The blend of spices, chicken, and minced meat was excellent. I felt like the spiciness could have been a bit stronger. They also had side menu options, so I'd like to try those next time.

I used it for dinner. When I arrived 15 minutes before the 6:00 pm opening, I was the first in line. There were only 3 people at the opening, so there wasn't much waiting in the evening. I ordered the chicken curry with a spiciness level of 3. It was served in about 15 minutes. As for the taste, the combination of smooth Indian curry and dry curry creates various flavors and textures that are very delicious! It's medium spicy at level 3, but quite spicy, and I started sweating. The chicken had a crispy surface and there were 5 large pieces, so it was very filling. It had a satisfying dinner experience.

I entered the restaurant around 11:10 am on a hot weekday in August. There were four customers already seated, and soon after, a few others were waiting outside. I ordered the Ayigake Chicken level 4 spicy. After about 10 minutes of waiting, it was served. The spice level was just right – quite spicy. The atmosphere among the staff gave off a slight tension.

Tabelog Curry Top 100. A popular spot in the curry town with long lines. Check their Twitter for business status. During Obon, even though it's right after opening, as expected, no lines. The owner himself, known as a "picky owner," shares on social media, so be cautious if that matters to you. No chatting allowed. No mobile phones during meals (not even checking). Not a place for couples; it's for those who want to eat quickly alone, catering to personal preferences. Compared to a super picky place in Ogikubo, the only noteworthy rules are adhering to the owner's style. On the other hand, female staff have surprisingly poor manners recently, trying too hard to match the owner's style. Inside, there's Wolf's music playing loudly non-stop. Being a fan for a long time, it feels comfortable. Choose spiciness when ordering; 3 spiciness is medium, 5 is hot. You can go up to 10, and with a points card (meaning a revisit), you can go for 11 or above. Since I have no resistance to spiciness, I went for 3 medium. When listening to regular customers' orders, they ask for 25 or even 70 spiciness! It sounds like a place for spicy food enthusiasts. Cold hand towels are provided. I ordered "Aigake Curry Chicken 3 Spicy (1700 yen)" on my first visit, recommended as Aigake. It's a combination of Indian-style curry and dry curry. The Indian-style curry is shaba-style. The chicken, with a crispy surface, is steamed with vegetables in a pan after searing. Careful and thorough work without cutting corners. Despite a slightly oily feel, the matured spice flavor is excellent, generously sprinkled with herbs for a beautiful appearance. The dry curry has a concentrated flavor of minced meat and vegetables with a punchy taste, making it irresistible. The spiciness at 3 is just right. Going beyond that seems like a challenge for me. Next time, I'll try pushing it to 4.

The "Aigake Curry Chicken 3 Spicy" is a curry that lives up to its name. It's a curry that could easily become an obsession. The strong spice of Indian curry and the junky dry curry are balanced well, with both flavors being robust. However, the junkiness of the dry curry might feel a bit heavy, perhaps due to personal health conditions.

I arrived 5 minutes before the opening on a weekday after giving up due to long queues on the weekend. There was only one person waiting when I arrived, just a little past 11 am when they opened. About 5 people entered ahead of me and settled in from the back. The place only had counter seats, and I was seated at the end to place my order. Being a newbie, I chose the "Aigake Curry" with chicken, level 3 spiciness (¥1,700 including tax). The spiciness scale goes up to 10. The order arrived in about 20 minutes, which felt quite a wait for curry. Surprisingly, the chicken was lightly fried and incredibly tender, almost tearing apart with a spoon. Although I initially thought the rice portion was small, there was quite a generous amount of chicken. The "Aigake Curry" offered two flavors: Indian curry, which was runny but beautifully spiced, and dry curry, which was flavorful and condensed without much moisture, with crispy toppings adding a delightful texture. The atmosphere inside had restrictions like no talking while eating, but there was a water pitcher on each table, making it convenient. From entering to finishing the meal, it took 40 minutes. They only accepted cash. This was undeniably delicious!

Yesterday's lunch was at Curry Notoriko near Kanda Station! After finishing my health checkup, I was finally able to eat, so I was walking around wondering where to go. I stumbled upon a restaurant where two people were already lining up even before it opened. Despite it being almost opening time, the fact that people were lining up beforehand surely meant the food was delicious. So, I decided to queue up behind them. It was a curry restaurant with only counter seating. There were various notices: "No talking, no eating while walking, only take photos of the food," "This is not a place for dates," "The owner is a picky jerk." These precautions were probably because it's a popular spot. When I looked it up, it seems like it was chosen as one of the top curry shops in the Curry Hyakumeiten 2022 guide. For my order, I chose the Mixed Curry (Chicken) with spice level 5, priced at 1,700 yen. I was curious about how a curry selected as one of the top 100 in the Curry Hyakumeiten would taste, especially the mixed curry of Indian curry and dry curry. The dry curry was mild in flavor, with fried onions adding a nice accent that I really liked. The Indian curry was on the thick side, and while spice level 5 is categorized as spicy, it felt more like a medium spice level to me. It was rich in spices and clearly different from Japanese curry, but still quite delicious. Personally, I prefer the taste to be a bit stronger. If I have the chance to go again, I'd like to try around spice level 8. Also, there was a mysterious topping option that had "Please do not order" written next to it. I wonder what that's all about. #lunch #curry #spicycurry #indiancurry #drycurry #top100curry #curryhyakumeiten #delicious #tokyolunch #tokyogourmet #spices #spicyfood #healthcheckup #notices #mixedcurry

Arrived at the restaurant around 11:10 AM, just a 3-minute walk from JR Kanda Station North Exit, with no queue so I could enter immediately. It's a small place with only 7 counter seats, and it quickly filled up with 5 other customers. The owner kindly explained everything. Feeling a bit nervous as I had read reviews before coming here, haha. Ordered the Indian-style curry with Keema curry combo for ¥1700, with chicken for an extra ¥300, and added vegetable toppings for ¥200. Opted for medium spiciness (level 3). The dishes arrived in about 15 minutes. Both were delicious, with a variety of spice flavors. The chicken was well-seasoned and bite-sized. Loved the fried eggplant, lotus root, broccoli, and bell pepper toppings. Mixed everything at the end and was thoroughly satisfied. Although I like spicy food, I played it safe with medium spiciness this time; I'll try the spicy version next time. The curry was wonderfully spicy, and I finished every last bit. Perfect for a hot day! After finishing, you're asked to place your dishes on the shelf in front. Overall, a delightful meal!
