Monday 13:00 - 2 groups of customers already seated, surprisingly not crowded. Ordered Combination Beef Curry and Milk Curry in size M with less rice. Served in less than 5 minutes. First, the aroma of beef and cloves is irresistible. Despite being described as spicy, it smoothly incorporates the sweetness of vegetables, with moderate spiciness and a delayed heat from chili peppers. Quite delicious! It's addictive. The beef is tender and well-cooked, showing high quality. The Milk Curry, though not spicy itself, feels a bit spicy due to continuous beef consumption. Mixing beef and milk creates a mellow and tasty combination. I'm curious about the Keema as well, but I might go for the same combo next time.

This is my first visit. I came here to eat curry because when you think of curry, you think of Jinbocho. I ordered the Shumai Cutlet Curry in extra-large size for 850 yen. Firstly, it's cheap, the portion is generous, and the taste is mild. The shumai is fried, providing both satisfying texture and flavor. The cutlet is crispy and easy to eat. The curry sauce is rich with minced meat, mildly spicy, and has a gentle flavor. It's quite a hefty portion, so be careful when eating... I couldn't finish it... I'm sorry. The taste is really delicious. It's a curry that you could eat every day. Thank you for the meal.

I ordered a combination of vegetable curry and beef curry for 1,300 yen. The beef curry has a rich beef flavor and the spiciness of the spices is well pronounced, making me break into a sweat. It's a addictive taste, and once you start eating, it's hard to stop. The vegetable curry has a strong tomato flavor, and the sweetness of the vegetables comes through. Compared to the spiciness of the beef curry, the vegetable curry's sweetness is quite prominent. It includes sweet potatoes, carrots, and green peppers, giving it a vibrant and colorful appearance. I really enjoyed the boldly spicy beef curry. Thank you for the delicious meal.

I've recently been obsessed with exploring curry restaurants. In the bustling area of Jingumae, known for its famous curry spots, I've tried YOGORO HENDRIX and now, today, I'm at BLAKES. The restaurant is on the second floor of a building, so it's a bit hard to find, but there's a large sign on the street that helps. Inside, it's a cozy space with just the right amount of room. I visited for lunch on a Saturday and didn't have to wait; I was seated right away at the counter. Here, you can choose from five different curries for lunch. If you order a combination, you can pick two curries. This time, I chose the spicy beef curry and the keema curry. Since it's a counter, you can see the cooking happening right in front of you, and the smell of spices fills the air, making you hungry. The plate they serve you has rice in the middle, curry on the sides, salad in the back, and pickles on top of the rice. It's a well-rounded meal. First, I tried the beef curry. It's spicy! Very spicy! This spiciness really makes you feel like you're eating curry. The lingering heat on your tongue and the refreshing spice that comes out of your nose, it's indescribable! After a few bites, I started to sweat on my forehead and scalp. Eating spicy curry makes you feel like you're coming back to life from the inside. If you're not good with spicy food, you might want to avoid it. Next, the keema curry. It has the umami of chicken and a perfect balance of spices. The corn and green peas add sweetness and a different texture, making it very delicious. Keema has a good chewiness when eaten with rice. While curry rice is a dish where the curry and rice are mixed, with keema, it feels like you're eating the curry as a side dish with rice. The spiciness of the beef curry and the sweetness of the keema curry were a great combination. The pickles on top of the rice were a nice touch, like a substitute for fukujinzuke. Next time, I'll try the combination of butter chicken and milk curry! This place is a great spot where you can enjoy various flavors depending on the combination you choose.

I dropped by for lunch and had a reliably satisfying curry today, which was a hybrid of butter chicken and keema. It was a decent curry, neither outstanding nor disappointing. There are renowned eateries like Hendricks and Yogorou nearby, and while this one might lack a bit of uniqueness compared to them, it was still delicious.

I've seen this place in a Dancyu article a while back. It used to be a legendary curry shop run by the same chef before it became this one. The curry scene around here seems to be exceptionally high-level, with famous spots crowded together. I initially headed to Hendrix, but it looked too busy, so I came here instead. I ordered the combination of keema and beef curry. The keema was rich with a substantial meaty flavor. The spices were well-balanced, offering a gentle taste. In contrast, the beef curry was boldly spicy. It created a delightful contrast, and I couldn't help but devour it. Mixing the keema and beef together at the end made for a fun dish.

The BLAKES✨National Stadium is about a 15-minute walk from Harajuku. I'm intrigued by their Peruvian-inspired milk curry with an Indian twist! It's served alongside butter chicken. The curry is made with milk and spices, giving it a unique flavor profile. The butter chicken has a tangy twist that pairs well with rice. I noticed from looking at Tabelog that this area is quite competitive when it comes to curry!

★ Gourmet Lawyer's Food Diary ★ 【Instagram】 joy_sound 【Tabelog】 _Chrome_ーーーーーーーーーーーーーCombination of two types: Keema and super spicy beef! Visited Blakes in Jingumae. Listed in Tabelog's Top 100 Curry Shops. Visited around 18:40 on a weekday. No other customers. Ordered Keema and super spicy beef in size small. Also had mango lassi. Missed the note on super spicy beef. Got teary and runny nose from the spiciness. Staff looked concerned, kept refilling water. Managed to finish it. Keema had corn and lots of flavor. Thanks for the meal!ーーーーーーーーーーーーLikes, saves, comments are encouraging!!

Visited around 12:00 on a weekday with no waiting. Ordered the Combination (M) for 1500 yen, which includes Beef Curry and Keema Curry. The Beef Curry, marked as spicy, had a stimulating heat that made me sweat, but it wasn't unbearable. Not recommended for those who can't handle spice well. The Keema Curry, with corn and green peas, paired well with minced meat.

This is a review of a curry restaurant that was ranked among the top 100 in 2022. The restaurant is located on the second floor of a building. I ordered the Vegetable Curry Combination S for 1,100 yen, which includes two types of curry. For the second curry, I chose Beef Curry. The Vegetable Curry consists of potatoes, sweet potatoes, cauliflower, bell peppers, and other vegetables in a tomato soup base. It's loaded with chunky vegetables. The Beef Curry is very spicy, but the heat is addictive. The rice comes with a side salad featuring tomatoes, cherry tomatoes, lettuce, and more, allowing you to enjoy a variety of vegetables. It's a place where you can savor curry with a robust spice blend.

BLAKES at the National Stadium. Seats were available. - Keema Curry, Beef Curry S (1,200 yen) ready in 5 minutes. Keema Curry: Easy to eat, not too spicy. The sweetness of minced meat and corn stands out. Beef Curry: Intensely spicy, almost tearing apart your taste buds. It's so spicy that it sets your insides on fire. But it's delicious with rich flavors! The rumors about the Beef Curry were true.

I visited this restaurant called BLAKES, and I was interested in it when I went to [Yogorou] before. I visited around 2 PM on a weekday when there would likely be no line, and I could enter smoothly. There was one customer already inside, and I could enter without waiting. The daytime menu consists of five types: Butter Chicken, Keema, Beef, Vegetable, and Milk Curry. There is also a combination where you can choose two types. I ordered the combination of Butter Chicken and Beef Curry (two varieties). The Butter Chicken Curry had a mild taste with a subtle lemon fragrance, and the acidity of the tomato was mild. It was a curry with a mellow flavor, making it easy for anyone to eat. The Beef Curry was hot, spicy, and intensely flavorful. The beef was tender without the usual toughness, well-cooked, and had a rich taste. Both curries are not the heavily spiced, gutsy type but emphasize the assertiveness of the ingredients. The rice was relatively low in moisture and cooked firm. The curry was slightly refreshing, creating a balanced sensation when eaten. The seasoning of the curry leans towards a stronger taste, and the Beef Curry with its solid spiciness helps neutralize the mouth. The presence of the provided salad was crucial. Compared to the intensely spicy Beef Curry, I personally preferred the milder and more palatable Butter Chicken Curry. Curries that make you sweat during the summer can be refreshing after eating, so I recommend it. Thank you for the delicious meal!

Milk curry (including tax, 1200 yen, additional iced coffee 300 yen). I thought it would be mild, but when I took a bite of the roux, a sharp spiciness hit me. The softly simmered chicken and the flavorful eggplant are both delicious. I enjoyed the tasteful heat of the spiciness. It comes with a salad, which is appreciated. I broke a sweat, but even on a hot day, curry is still good.

The keema has a great flavor with the chicken minced meat cooked just right, slightly charred giving it a perfect taste. The spices are also well balanced. The butter chicken is okay, nothing particularly special. The keema stands out with its unique and strong flavor, it's addictive. Next time, I think I'll try the keema and beef.

I was surprised by the extreme spiciness because I ordered without knowing how spicy it would be. The taste is delicious, but it's extremely spicy, so I had to take it slow, enjoying it little by little. The one-bite chocolate they gave after the meal for relief was much appreciated. I would recommend it to those who love extremely spicy food.

I had the Combination S (¥1,200) for lunch on the weekend. The combination allows you to choose two types from Butter Chicken, Keema, Beef, and Milk. I visited around 1:00 PM, and unfortunately, Butter Chicken was sold out. Instead, I had Keema curry and Beef curry. The Keema curry had coarsely ground chicken and paired well with corn. The Beef curry was extremely spicy, almost at the limit of what I could handle. It's great that they offer sizes from S to L.

Visited a curry restaurant on the second floor of a building near Jingu-mae, on the west side of the Jingu Stadium and National Stadium. Following Mr. Yogorou's visit the other day, I went there during lunch on a weekday and was able to be seated right away due to the changeover. Ordered the Combination S (Milk Curry, Butter Chicken Curry) for 1200 yen. I was going to choose Beef and Butter Chicken, but noticed "extremely spicy" written next to Beef, so I avoided it, haha. The Butter Chicken and Milk curries were both delicious with a rich flavor. The restaurant is not very spacious, but the staff's movements were good, making it a comfortable experience. Thanks for the meal!

Visited over the weekend. No waiting in line. Located near the National Stadium, this curry spot is one of the top 100 in the area. It's nestled in a competitive neighborhood filled with popular curry joints. The restaurant is on the second floor of a building, with a clean and tranquil atmosphere inside. It's said to be run by a chef who used to work at the legendary curry spot "GHEE" in Jingumae. This time, I ordered the Combination Menu where you can enjoy two types of curry: Butter Chicken Curry and Keema Curry. The curry was spicy with a tangy kick, providing an exciting flavor profile. It pairs well with Japanese rice. It's crafted with careful consideration of balance in ingredients and timing, with creative touches. The Butter Chicken Curry is creamy yet stimulating, while the Keema features coarsely ground meat and chunky vegetables, creating a delightful texture. It was a delicious curry rich in spices. Highly recommended.

Today's lunch was at Blakes (GHEE) in Jingumae. It was my first visit, and I ordered the Combination M (1,500 yen), which includes Keema Curry and Beef Curry. The Beef Curry was indeed spicy, with the beef flavor blending well with the heat – delicious! The Keema Curry was also good. The meat and green peas were tasty, and the rice went down smoothly. There was plenty of sauce and ingredients, which made it enjoyable to eat with the rice. It was delicious!

Restaurant Review: Curry Top 100 in Food Guide 3.76, Year 202232, Store 100. Visited at 12:30 on a weekday, no wait despite rainy weather. Ordered: Keema Curry × Butter Chicken. Be cautious with Beef Curry as it's spicy. Keema Curry is meaty and delicious.

On this day, I came to watch the Rugby League One semi-final at the Chichibunomiya Rugby Stadium between Saitama Wild Knights and Yokohama Canon Eagles. It looks like it's going to be a great match. The game starts at 14:35, so I'll grab lunch around and then head to the rugby stadium! So, I'm heading to BLAKES. I arrived at 13:00, and it was not crowded, so I could get in right away. They have a popular Combination Curry where you can enjoy two types of curry. I chose the combination of Butter Chicken and Milk. The sizes are S (200g), M (300g), and L (400g). Without hesitation, I chose the L size. It arrived in a few minutes. First, I tried the Milk, which has a cute name but is quite spicy, like Green Curry. Next is the Butter Chicken. It's not the sweet type you usually get in Indian Nepali restaurants; it's moderately spicy. It's delicious. Eating them alternately lets you feel the two different flavors, which is nice. After eating the chili on the Milk Curry and then having the Butter Chicken Curry, my mouth was on fire – it was quite exciting (laughs). The 400g size was just right. I've replenished my energy, so I'm ready to enjoy the rugby game! By the way, the nearby Yogorou had a line of over 30 people waiting.
