"Katsuyama Main Store" in Monbetsu, I came alone and made a list of a few places to eat, thinking it would be quick, but I ended up running out of time. I haven't had lunch yet, so I'll go to a place that seems quick and easy. It's a soba restaurant, and I'm eating at the Katsuyama Main Store branch. When I arrived, the parking lot was completely full. Is it okay? It's dangerous if I can't find a parking spot. I hurriedly entered the restaurant, but there were no customers, and I wondered what was going on. Are these the employees' cars?
Anyway, I decided to order "tanuki soba" because I thought hot soba would be good in this cold weather. It cost 750 yen, which I think is too expensive for soba in a small town like this. I know that most people wouldn't say that. There are no table seats or raised counter seats. No, there is a counter, just as I had hoped. I was seated at the counter in 5 minutes as I had expected. I was worried that they might use pre-cooked soba, but I heard them rinsing it with water, so it seemed fine. What I didn't like was that the tenkasu (tempura bits) were melting. Most importantly, the water tasted bad. After one sip, I couldn't drink any more. There's no shichimi (seven spice), which I think is a lack of taste. On the TV, the employee's mask is bothering me.
This is soba, but since I ordered it warm, I don't really care about the taste of the soba itself. It's not good if there's no koshi (firmness). There's a lotus flower on the soba, but who puts a lotus root on soba? Well, without this tanuki spoon, you can't eat the tenkasu. The dipping sauce is good because it's not too sweet. I won't talk about the soup stock or umami because it all comes down to the price and the bad water. So, even though it's just soba, well, I'm in a good mood today.
