Capital Toyo-Tei Main Store was founded in 1897 by the first-generation Ginzaburo Takahashi as a Western-style restaurant in Kyoto. At that time, he was determined to introduce the deliciousness of Western cuisine, which was considered exotic, to the townspeople of Kyoto. He and his wife worked hard to establish the restaurant. Even now, 125 years later, it remains a popular Western-style restaurant with long queues.

I visited after a long time. Since I only come here occasionally, I always end up ordering the same signature dishes.

- Century Western-style Hamburger Steak... 1,580 yen
- Dessert Set C... 450 yen (Dessert: Pudding)
The salad is made of a whole tomato with dressing drizzled over it. It's delicious. I love tomatoes, so I'm happy with this dish. The hamburger steak and potatoes are served on a hot iron plate. When you open the aluminum foil, the piping hot hamburger steak is revealed. It's made with coarsely ground meat, and the flavor is rich and delicious. However, in today's saturated restaurant scene, while it's tasty, it's not exceptionally outstanding (though it's definitely better than many others). I think it would be even better if they added a bit of that special "century quality" feeling to it. Also, the pudding here is quite delicious.
Thank you for the meal. m(_ _)m
